In my personal opinion, I kind of wish they saved this design for another Godzilla movie as an enemy kaiju, either an original creature, a failed clone of Godzilla or a mixture of Godilla's DNA with Destroyah's or something.

Even though I disagree with 90% of these critiques and have heard them before, this video is defiantly better than most negative reviews for Shin Godzilla I've seen out there because it doesn't seem like your making this video for the sake starting fanboy wars, pissing off a select group of people, and ad revenue. Also that you don't have to take anything out of context or over exaggerate to make your point. Hopefully something like that doesn't pop-up in your G14 vs Shin video because we already have one that's like that.

Glad that came across, and thank you for listening. My intention is never to start conflict. If anything, it's to promote conversation, and thus far, the comments seem to be going in that direction.
And don't worry, taking things out-of-context and/or exaggerating minor details isn't my style. When I compare the two films, it'll be Dragnet: just the facts.

Not saying that you're wrong for liking Shin Godzilla, but I feel like a good chunk of your distaste for the movie simply comes from the hype. Everyone around you kept saying that Shin Godzilla is like the Citizen Kane of Godzilla movies, thus giving you the impression that it was going to be just as golden as the original 1954 Classic, but ends up not living up to the hype that was embedded into your head.
And by the way Mr. Omni Viewer. This isn't from a biased fan. I personally feel like Shin Godzilla is a tad overhyped myself.

Yeah, if you didn't like Evangelion or the live action Attack on Titan movies, you're probably not going to like Shin either, because it's the same guys making it and they -- especially Hideaki Anno -- tend to repeat themselves stylistically. (I will be the first to admit that I found it more than a little jarring how much of the music in Shin was recycled from Evangelion.)
Shin's also a bit different than most Godzilla movies aside from '54 and '84, in that it's really a disaster procedural where the disaster happens to be a ~150m long radioactive monster. The American equivalent of Shin would be an episode of The West Wing set during Godzilla '14, which I would watch the heck out of (but I'm weird that way).
While the Shin Godzilla design is not my favorite design for the character, it's probably the scariest one I can think of. The beady eyes, the stunted arms, the creepy way the jaw moves... It's just unsettling, and probably intentionally so.
Personally, I enjoyed Shin. (However, I'm also an Evangelion fan, so I kind of knew what to expect from Anno.) I can definitely understand why others might not, though.

    this aint it chief.
one important thing you missed with this movie is that while the politics are a bit over bearing, that is how japanese politics work, American military forces responded to the 2011 tohoku earthquake before japanese forces even deployed, because the japanese constitution forbade the japanese army from deploying on its own soil unless provoked to do so from a foreign power. the movie is pointing out a very real problem in japan, for this reason though the movie does not translate well in a country like america where the military can operate outside of congress's decisions.

You've made the exact same points as several other reviewers so I'll keep my comment brief, disregarding minor complaints.
    1) "Godzilla is a character." While he was clearly in some films, he's better known as either a symbol or the driving force behind the plot; that can be symbolic, metaphorical, or literal (ie, any Kubrick or Scorses film).
    2) "Too much politics." Kaiju films were never confined to one genre, as they are spectrum of sci-fi/horror/supernatural - giving us more reason to love them. This being a political satire showcases the failures of democracy and asks for a populist approach to the inevitable; a stronger Japan. This leads to my next point.
    3) "Characters not memorable." While I would've agreed after seeing Dunkirk, with some afterthought, you realize that is entirely intentional. Parliament, chambers of commerce, the Senate, et cetera - can all be see as puppets or powerful manipulators. Why is it that Yaguchi stands out? Because he stands for change and defeats the monster! No need for the film to be a "character driven movie" when the disaster before me is enough to engulf me in horror and grief.
The film has a lot of layers and layers of complexity that make it a perfect entry for new fans and old fans alike after a deep understanding of corruption, natural disasters, and beaucracy. So give it a rewatch after some time has passed and see the difference.

I mostly agree with you, with a few disagreements like how the characters are too boring. I expected that and didn't mind it as I saw it coming, as Toho has done this many times before. I really only remember people from Gojira, the Heisei series, Final Wars and GMK because they had a large role and actually used it well, in my opinion of course. I also didn't like how it seems the movie didn't know what it was doing. For example, they introduce the nuclear element of Godzilla and do mention the areas he's been are contaminated but at the end they make up this rather stupid excuse that he has a special isotope with a half-life of a few months and that Tokyo would be back to normal in 3 years. Compare that to another nuclear disaster like Chernobyl, and this was just an excuse to have a 'happy' ending. I digress, it's probably better than I give it credit for, but I really don't like this film and I am actually glad I found you have similar beliefs to my own

I think it made sense for Shin Godzilla to freeze up after his atomic breath for so long because it was the first time he did it, so yes it would take a massive tole on him. I was on the edge of my seat the entire movie and just loved it. I understand the points you made but I just can't agree with them. The music used in certain scenes doesn’t always have to be played in a scene that it was intended to be used in
I’ve been writing a Transformers story since late 2018, recently I’ve plotted out possibly one of the best ideas I’ve ever come up with
All the Autobots have escaped from the Ark before it crashed on Earth, except Optimus
It crashes, and the story picks up about 10 years later in the mid 1980s
Optimus has an idea to wake up all the Autobots (since they were put into stasis from the crash) using the Matrix Of Leadership
He stands at the right spot and fires a beam in the sky
During this segment, Arrival To Earth from TF1 is playing in the background. Even though they aren’t arriving on Earth
It fits well with the scene
If you want more context to this scene I’ll reply

    @GumballAstronaut7206 7 лет назад +7

Well at least you used constructive criticism unlike some people.....Shin-Godzilla is a very hard movie to wrap your head around. I like shin for what it is! I feel like the main reason why Hideaki Anno made the Political Aspect of the film the main driving point of the film was because of two things. One, for over 60 years, there have always had a love triangle between the main characters, to better drive the story, and find a way to either kill Godzilla or the monster Godzilla if facing. But instead it slows the down the films, and at times the characters just become annoying. Two, The government in japan has gotten worse, and has even become a serious issue, ESPECIALLY after 3/11. So implementing it into the movie would make sense.
Now Godzilla himself makes a lot more sense when you think of it like this. The reason why he "walks" is because he's trying to get used to this new environment. In the film they state that he used to be a sea creature. So coming up to a completely different part of the world he's used to,would be jarring and curious. He's like a new born puppy.

I was lucky to have seen it in theaters with my father (to try and share my Godzilla love) and thought it was... okay. I was thinking about buying it, but after watching your review it helped reinforce how much Shin lacks being both enjoyable and rewatchable. The same for Legendary's attempt too, its basically a "pick your poison" scenario with these newest Godzilla films.

Yeah, but the examples you mentioned of "monsters just walking forward" either have additional terror from the point of view of the bystanders or, in the sample of the Angels, even some mystery (someone actually asks "why the heck are these things coming to THIS city?" and there is an actual answer which is a cornerstone of all of the crazy (Lillith, and eventually Adam, they want to fusion with her for their own damn inscrutable reasons, all conspiracies are using her as bait and wish to use her for their own crazy shit once all the Angels are dead)).

This is an opinion that will change once I get access to more information, down here in Costa Rica, so making it known in advance:
Well... from what extremely little I have seen, it looks like Shin Ultraman follows this same formula... take it as you will. It’s a second serving of the same recipe, slight change on the spices. You either will like it or you will hate it and probably by the time Shin Kamen Rider comes, you will either want to go to Japan to give Hideaki Anno a great hug or turn his nose into an accordion.

No. If anything I commend it for trying new things with Godzilla but, I still think the 2014 Godzilla, heck, the original '54 Godzilla, are superior simply because they weren't dumb beasts who just walked forward and had actual personality.

Omni Viewer i Don't hate you for disliking the movie, i have my own opinions as well, i actually respect your opinions and your views on how u see things as good or bad. I really like shin godzilla for bringing back godzilla in a whole new way that keeps the overall impression of the orginial godzilla or what godzilla is. Just because people have their own opinions and perspectives, doesn't mean I'm opposed to them. Now there are movies that i feel mixed about while many like them, and few hate them like the 2012 animated feature wreck it ralph. back when i saw this movie i hated it so much ,But now I've grown to like it a little bit more, but I'm still not impressed or a fan of that movie. On one hand, i like it's animation, some humor and for trying to fulfill some nostalgic style, but that's just part of the problem i have with this movie. The story is just phoned with complications that the characters constantly experince and how it doesn't feel surpirsing or orginial and more of a "been there, done that" feel. I don't mind if people disagree or agree with my views, but when others don't understand my point of view, then we have arguments.

I finally watched Shin Godzilla a second time recently, which was the first time I've seen the movie since it's theatrical run in the United States. I still like the movie, but not as much as I did back when I first saw it. It has a lot of several flaws, but it's still a good movie in my eyes.
Also, "Persecution of the Masses" DOES play when Godzilla is rampaging through the city. Godzilla even topples a building, killing a family still inside. The constitution part doesn't happen until near the end of the song.

Although I like the film, yours are not invalid complaints and I understand why you feel it this way.
As someone who enjoys the film (like Mike from RLM said, I always wanted to see a Godzilla film that is about the politicians and scientists just focusing on stopping the monster without family drama subplot bullshit), I admit that it's missing a more human touch, which isn't good because then we get people like you who are understandably invested less.
The Japanese audience was satisfied with this film, and it's understandable why because it hit home close for them, but you just gotta think about the other countries as well, and it's not impossible to do something that satisfies both and we end up with a movie that is universally or almost universally beloved.
Since this movie is a metaphor of the Fukushima disaster, they should've added scenes similar to those of HBO's "Chernobyl", where you see how much the radiation is killing people (exaggerating it would be fine since it's coming from a fictional monster), and maybe seeing some body-horror of the dying patients just like in the HBO show, it would highlight and show onscreen how truly horrifying the situation is, and that way it also makes Shin feel like a worse threat, sure it "moves slowly" but you still should run the fuck away from it as far as you can because its radiations will kill you.
Show more civilian casualties, don't just say "Oh, this monster is leaving huge amounts of radiations", show the audience how bad the situation is to invest them, don't just tell.

I think people who say _Shin Godzilla_ the best Godzilla movie ever are wrong. I also think people who say _Shin Godzilla_ is the worst Godzilla movie are wrong. Mind you, I lean more towards _Shin Godzilla_ being bad. Not sure where it stands though, Godzilla has its duds. Also my feeling about the movie changes as I think more about it, sometimes positive and sometimes negative.
Omni, I feel you really nitpick here, specifically with the choice of music. *The music fits.* Whether the reused music was used better before does not matter, it fits. Using music a little differently should not be enough to bring the experience down. And yes, that happy music after Godzilla's initial attack was abrupt but it was on purpose. The scene is trying to convey Japan is moving on like it normally did, which the music portrays well.
_Shin Godzilla_ is definitely a movie meant for re-watching, *which is bad.* A single watch should be enough to give the viewer what they want. Whether this is on purpose or not, does not matter, do not demand too much from the viewer. I went into this expecting a simple Godzilla movie.
On the subject of Godzilla's character or as you say, the lack of character, I think Godzilla does have character. Re-watching the movie, two things stuck out: *first,* Godzilla returned to Tokyo. I remember a furious Japanese politician trying to rationalize why Godzilla is returning to Tokyo and afterwards doing nothing but remaining in Tokyo. *Second* thing I noticed is Goro Maki and how much they focused on him. The first scene of the movie shows Goro Maki's empty boat very close to the initial area where the creature is created. Unraveling Goro Maki's mystery unravels Godzilla. *I think* they are saying Goro Maki is Godzilla, getting his revenge on Japan. Yes, it just walks but it does have a goal in mind, otherwise why would it walk on land at all? And that scene at the end with Godzilla's tail, it appeared as if there was plenty of human-looking skeletons. When I first saw that I just thought _"Whoa! What's with H.R. Giger taking over Godzilla's tail!"_ I cannot tell if this is a good or bad thing.
After I referred to the creature as "Godzilla" so many times lets talk about the creature itself not being Godzilla. Well, I agree Omni. This idea came to me when a scientist spoke of the creature capable of evolving wings and flying to other continents. Uh ... Godzilla cannot fly. *But who can fly?* Rodan, Ghidorah, Mothra. So this creature, lets call it Shin Godzilla, is not Godzilla but the progenitor of all the monsters and kaiju.
I don't know what my final thoughts are. I feel I need another movie to go along with the first one. Not Shin Godzilla 2 but Shin Godzilla Part 2. I guess this would be a radical change for the Godzilla series to make

(Warning their some spoilers included to those who haven't seen "Neon genesis Evangelion",Nausicaa of the valley of the wind' and Shin Godzilla.)
I understand why your dislike for the film. I on the underhand am mixed on Shin Gojira/Shin Godzilla(2016) The whole film is basically suppose to to bring Godzilla back to being a metaphorical Beast like he was in the 1954 film. If you remember during the poster release for the film the tagline was "Godzilla vs. Japan" but their was a translation to "fiction vs Reality". if you pay close attentions this film is basically trying to be psychological on par with hideaki anno work like "Neon Genesis Evangelion". Being starting out as a political satire to Metaphorical Daikaiju film to Psychological to reality. Their even a dialogue in shin godzilla in the english dub "Yaguchi, this is reality. All else is just a dream." it suppose to be the center focus on how while we want to see japan do something against shin godzilla we can't because in reality we would be considering the consequence on the forefront.
The character while having not known them the one we follow are two side one being japan government bureau while yamaguchi teams are the outcast in the political world. the problem is we don't spent time because the plot take center stage more than characterization. Their where scene hope out of nowhere scene where those are suppose to be character moment. like them saying for them to take a break those are suppose to be we suppose to no the characters acting human.
Just like you I didn't like the loss of characterization towards Godzilla was loss in this films but that they turn godzilla into what seem to be a machine with flesh, because that's basically what shin godzilla is a organic machine. People who try to compare shin godzilla to godzilla 1954 miss the few characterizations to godzilla in that film. In 1954 godzilla attack ship that are near his territory, or that Dr.Yamane explain towards the soldiers not to used spotlight because it would anger godzilla. Meaning Godzilla was attacking because the city light was irritated and enraged him from remenission toward the atomic bomb that was drop on him. or those subtle moment like tearing the clock for making noise or the towers fill with reporter having the camera flashing at him. However Shin Godzilla wasn't trying to be like 1954 more on pare in terms of Metaphorical, Godzilla 1954 is a metaphor to the bombing of hiroshima and nagasaki but Shin Godzilla is a metaphor towards the "2011 tokuho earthquake and tsunami along with fukushima nuclear meltdown disasters". Everything Shin Godzilla Does in the film Is a represent what happened during those disaster shin godzilla coming to shores is represent the tsunami part, him on the shores represent the earthquakes and finally his paser breath and fire breath represent the meltdown in fukushima. Tied that with the characters in the government failure to respond to the disaster quickly and you see what this film is trying to go for. Even that part where the prime minister asserting that shin godzilla would not come ashore is mirroring the same incident where they try cerning the public the fukushima power plant would not have a meltdown until vice versa they both happen. While some of these incident was reference in Legendary Pictures/warner bros Godzilla(2014) however they were more just mirror it in some scene rather being the forefront and drive of the story.
As for Shin Godzilla himself he does very little character moment like in his 3rd form he notice his spike glowing and he respond by returning back to seas or after getting hit with bomb by the JSDF he kick the bridge to destroy one tank or him roaring and responding when U.S. Drop the MOAB that injured him. There was when they first not shin godzilla down he trick the JSDF to believe he loss his atomic breath but used it during the first blood coagulant being a minister to him. His personality is based on hideaki anno angels in 'Evangelion' series. However you observation and stated of them walking and not respond, that is I'll say isn't very much true. Yes they do walk but they also respond but the main reason for the angels to walk was to get toward lilith or adam in the series. The Giant Warrior Gods motivation was to destroy humanity for the earth to start all over or possible an alien invasion that never happened. The 'Titans' in the live action "Attack on Titans" motivation where to eat any human they could get. To not show Shin Godzilla's motivation was on the filmmaker part to make Godzilla a mystery left for the audience to decide like hideaki anno does in most of his film. It even given hints like talking about Goro Maki and his hatred toward radiation along with his last word "Do as you please and I did the same". Yaguchi even ask "What happen to him?" then the film cut to the power down Shin Godzilla tail as it move a slight bit. In fan theory they believe Goro maki is mostly absorbed into godzilla which is mostly like why godzilla seem to be moving toward tokyo, but where left to try and fill in the puzzle with the characters in the film along with speculative until confirmation in the sequel. Shin Godzilla is suppose to be like an evangelion-ilke unit or angel with a goal driven by instinct that the audience is suppose to speculate or try to figure out without being told. He/she/it a metaphor not a character not we known him to be.
But I not trying to change your mind more on giving an incite to the film that most never think or notice about it. I hope most what i said try at least be something to think about with when you watch shin godzilla again.

I myself personally don't really enjoy Shin Godzilla. Not hate, but I just don't like it.
I would say most of the problems usually come around to Shin Godzilla himself. I tend to refer to this version of Godzilla as Shin Godzilla, as he sort of feels more like a different type of monster from most versions of Godzilla, kinda similar to Zilla in a way.
Personally, the design is interesting as a Kaiju, just not what I look for when comes to Godzilla, again like Zilla, a cool monster design but not for Godzilla. the way the final form sort of looks like the a deformed version of the 1954 incarnation kinda make me think it could possible work more as monster similar to the scrapped Ghost Godzilla for the Heisei series. Personally, if it were up to me, I would get rid of the form changing and mainly alter the fourth form of Shin Godzilla. I would shorten the tail a bit and get rid of the extra head on the tail, make the arms longer and more muscular, keep some of the red glowing highlights and get rid of the snake like lower jaw but keep the overall head to keep some of the more creepy aspects of Shin Godzilla.
Like with Omni, I see Godzilla as character and I wish we could saw some character from Shin Godzilla in this film. Maybe with being a mutated sea animal that comes to land for the first time, maybe having him exploring more of the city and looking down at the humans as if he sees them as prey, almost of though he when from being prey himself to become the very top predator, as Godzilla that is perhaps power hungry and wants to maintain his new position as top of the food chain and wanting to rule his new kingdom on land.

Having seen the movie, aware already of the emphasis on political satire before hand, I have to say: even with this into consideration, much of story is too sedated if that makes sense. Godzilla was far too immobile, I suspect to save costs on the cgi... which considering Legendary's Godzilla, which still made an effort for those effects, reflects even worse on Shin Godzilla. And let's not get started on how almost all the human characters take the stereotype of how Japanese people are reserved to the point of parody, not showing that they are even keeping their panic in check, let alone SHOW ANY TO BEIN WITH! Seeing other reviews gush about the film and the firestorm scene,I had good hopes for this film. Hope's that were dashed as I struggled to laugh at the overly blunt political satire of inefficient government, a main character far too polite in most scenes given the situation, another one, Hiromi Ogashira, seemingly figuring out facts about Godzilla without showing how she came too such conclusions, seemingly with no context to them, and yet she is right! Sorry, that was a big problem for me.

I thought the music was fantastic. Even the clips that you singled out that you thought didn't work, especially the atomic breath scene. When i heard "Early morning from tokyo" i took that it was intended as a sort of cheeky/ campy aside to the seriousness of what is going on, so with that in mind it didn't bother me or take me out of the action.Aside from the context in which it was played, if you listen to the soundtrack version, it actually is a quite competent and tastefully recorded piece of cool jazz a la miles davis. (I'm a music major FWIW).
Also regarding your point about Shin Godzilla itself having "no character"; thats is actually one of the things i liked about it. Its behavior fits it's more monstrous and horror inspired appearance imho. This version of godzilla is supposed to be "a god incarnate", in other words not something that humans can fully comprehend or relate to. Its not just a big animal, its a biological machine of destruction. Not knowing the motivation of the thing terrorizing you lends itself well to the element of horror that was reintroduced in this version. Anthropomorphizing Godzilla has been the mistake that Godzilla movies have been making all this time, in my opinion. Thats not to say that i vehemently dislike the other interpretations, but i just think Shin Godzilla is much more in line with the heart and the overall vibe of the original. granted, the movie wasn't perfect and had its silly moments that i would have done differently if it were up to me. kinda sad you didn't like it.

Yeah, but even the darkest Godzilla movies have presented Godzilla with SOME personality. We saw him destroy a clock tower in the original 1954 film because he saw it as a challenge and he killed those people in the Tokyo Tower out of annoyance from the flashes of their cameras.

    • @omniviewer2115

Oh, the music is very well composed, don't get me wrong. I even recognize that "Early Morning from Tokyo" is well-composed jazz music. I just didn't think it was implemented well in the movie, but again, that's just me.
As for anthropomorphizing Godzilla... I mentioned this when I did my original review of Godzilla 2014 years back, but to me, the anthropomorphizing is another part of what makes Godzilla and his kaiju brethren distinct. In mythology, most monsters can be split into two categories: Ogres and Dragons. Ogres are the human-like monsters, in whom we are meant to see reflections of ourselves; Dragons are the inhuman monsters, representing that which is alien to us.
Godzilla should be a Dragon, but he's humanoid like an Ogre, thus meaning he is both at once. Even though he is a grand force of raw power, we are also meant to see some of ourselves in him. In the original film, for example, the intention was for him to be both the embodiment of the Atomic Bomb and a victim of it, hence details like his scarred skin. This is why, despite the death and destruction he causes, his death at the end is treated just as tragically as Dr. Serizawa's.
      That's my take, anyway.

Is it the best ever? No. But I do feel we're being a bit harsh in this review, that or you could easily say you hate all of the Godzilla movies. But that's just my opinion

Shin Godzilla is weird it is different than the original the CGI is good but if you want to make a Godzilla movie you have to respect the original like it is a guy in a suit with horrible graphics which make it good and funny but now we have CGI which ruins it like if you agree

"Mixed thoughts here" i actually like suits and CGI. Personally i never understand the issue between CGI and Suitmation, cause i like them both. Yes both can be done right or wrong and both have their faults and advantages, but i still appreciate them and the hard work behind it to give us entertaining movies.

shin has always felt like an offshoot of the actual godzilla to me, i put shin in the same category as spcaegodzilla where its godzilla but an offshoot of it, so it feels like im not watching a godzilla movie. its always felt that way to me. its an alright film.

Since you mentioned it my feelings about the 2014 Godzilla movie is that it's a decent B-movie. The reason why I feel this way is because I asked myself "if they didn't call it Godzilla would they feel any different about it?" And to be honest, you could argue that's the biggest issue. And I actually liked the animated series that spawned from it

I believe it was the '98 movie that spawned the cartoon, and I agree, that was good.

Oh yeah! Sorry There's been so many Godzilla movies it's hard to remember which is which by what year it was made. Come to think of it the second American Godzilla movie doesn't have any nickname unlike zilla attacks New York.

I realized the secret of the Ending when I thought about who made this, the creature Evolving into the most dangerous monster on the planet and what was its final evolution? Man.
Think about who made this, it's just the kind of thing he would do

I kind of interpret this movie as what happens when a primal beast is given ultimate power.
I know the allegories and what-have-you to nuclear energy, but watching how stiff and robotic ShinGoji acts is just too much of a coincidence. I imagine these rapidly insane evolutions and exposure to tons of radiation have rattled and mushed it's brain to a wholly mindless beast who only reacts, kind of like the hollows in Dark Souls.
I'm the early stages, when shin goji bleeds freely after coming ashore, I can tell that these evolutions and changes in its biology are causing it pain and must seem particularly terrifying. To be honest, even though is first three stages of evolution don't look too well, I feel like subtly they make more sense than they let on. It's a bit of a stretch but when Goji surfaces the first time and writhes around on land, I feel like that was due to its first rapid evolution, and it was in an immense amount of pain, destroying everything in the way with primal carnage.
Once it reach the somewhat upright form, the energy spent evolving had made its reactor core overexert itself and, in a momentary reaction, Goji flees to the water to cool down.
Later, Goji has evolved, yet again, and looks properly zombiefied. The way this beast lumbers and walks straight just gives me the idea that any form of thought besides existing is gone; destroyed by evolutions that this creature's initial form should've never been capable of. There was an old short story I read once where the author interprets the massive change a human body underwent after having his genes spliced with different animals and how much that adjustment trauma had on his mental state. The shock and spasms of having all this new genetic information to process and pain from the evolution made his mind falter until he was just a cackling madman, who, just reacted.
Lastly, Shin Goji reacting only when the world around him has amassed enough firepower to cause him trauma causes a snap -- he readied the breath and fire rains upon Tokyo. Never had he been shown until this point to use a breath move and I imagine the shut down period not only cooled him off and gave him "breathing room", but allowed his body to once again make evolutionary improvements to his genetic makeup. You could argue that many incarnations of Godzilla could use atomic breath easily without rest, but I think with this more gritty setting that the beast awakening into its own infinite potential should be akin to man becoming god; it's not something that can just happen overnight -- though I'm sure if they hadn't stopped him Shin Goji could be fully evolved to spam lasers.
I thought the film was decent, I like this new form of Godzilla and I hope that the potential sequel involves all the things you mentioned in this video as it makes the most natural progression for this ever-evolving monstrosity.
