I love how slow and calm your videos are…without gimmicks or tons of jump cuts or sounds, etc., fighting to keep our attention. In a world of constant bombardment and overstimulation in the media, your channel feels like a safe space. Thank you. ❤

Elizabeth, maybe it’s your hell week now, so I’m gonna tell you this to make you feel a little better ❤: When I realize my PMS has arrived, I’ve got like a letter written from me to myself that I read every month. In the letter are instructions how to deal with my PMS I’ve collected over my time dealing with it. And one of the instructions says: Put on your headphones, play a video with Elizabeth Ferrera talking about PMDD and go clean your apartment listening to her. And it works everytime! usually after one video from you I ground myself and get above all the hurt and sadness and hopelesness I’m feeling. And I say to myself…”I’ve got it from now on.” ❤🎉 I

Thank you so much elizabeth. ❤ I just found you through your partners channel and your videos are bringing me so much comfort. You are helping me bring words to how I feel and accept them and also be able to articulate then to my therapist. 🙏 I can't wait to see her on Friday. Could you talk more about cptsd and how you cope with that? I lost my sense of self and had severe depression all throughout my 20s from trauma and I have come a long way in my journey with therapy and honestly just grinding to get through all these tough days of finding myself again. Now I feel like I have more a sense of self and have more good days then ever before but there are still so many days where I get very sad from things or I'm in a room and feel alone (I'll be a chameleon and be very positive and fit in) but go home feeling so depressed and slipl into suicidal thoughts and think I'll never be "normal" again I'm regressing AGAIN (so much more to it but it's mainly all the cptsd symptoms you spoke about with your partner.) Thank you so so so much again Elizabeth for inspiring me and giving me hope to keep going another day. ❤

I have read that pmdd really is about sensitization of the brain. So I watched the highly sensitive person video on this playlist also, and think it makes so much sense why us women develop pmdd when we start our menstrual cycles

*to clarify my last comment* as opposed to pmdd where it's predictable when your bad feelings will occur.. cptsd for me it's like every few days or every other week and not so predictable. And would like to know ways of coping. Thank you 💓💓

Thank you so much for your videos, I have not been diagnosed but goining to go next week, but my mum and grandmother were sufferers from what my mum has told me and it seems likely I might be too. I'm an anxious person by nature so it is tricky distinguishing what is related to hormones and what might just be my nature. But the past few days run up to period it has been getting gradually worse by increments and can best be described as a heaviness, emptiness and a fog over the day to day proceceeded by an almost manic day or two of high energy and detachment. I'm writing this from my room as I'm a uni student and live with five others, I think the hardest thing for me is allowing myself to feel what I feel without accusation, and without feeling like I should 'chin up' and act happy for other people in my house as that only exacerbates the issue.but equally, taking time for myself and distancing from my friends makes me worry about damaging our relationship. Thank you for sharing your experience it has helped a lot and makes me feel less ashamed to be struggling at the moment ❤️

Hi! This video indeed was very helpful. Mostly in knowing I'm not an alien or defective. I'm 41 and had VERY strong PMS simptoms and extreme painful periods my whole life, I developed many of the tools you explain in this video and others and is worked for me pretty well for over 20 years. 3 years ago I had my son and found out that I'm HSP as well, which was very clarifying. The thing is after my son was born ( emergency c section, motherhood) everything seems to have increased in sensitivity, the volume of it went just WAY up. I'm exhausted of life and loving life at the same time. I'm experiencing PMDD mostly when ovulating and on and of throughout the whole month.( I read a medical article relating PMDD with damaged uterus.) just in case that resonates with someone.
I share your whitch perspective, finding meaning is a must for me and connecting spiritually to nature and myself. My problem now is that having a toddler has taking most of my tools away. Finding space for me to connect or just have silence to feel what I need,(being HSP ) is becoming an imposible. I need to find new tools or solutions. When I'm vibrating hard in it, in the hole, and my kid is having a meltdown, all I want is to escape to get my solo time, my space, leave everything and just go but of course I choose not to. I have exploded in river tears in front of my child and now I'm afraid this can create an impact in him, seeing mum losing it...This is giving me a chance for teaching him managing emotions but it is HARD. My husband is very supportive but cannot just give me all of that time nor I want that. He feels also lost and doesn't know what to do.
Sorry for the long comment, is the first time I'm talking about this. Just excited to share it with someone who understands.
I know there's a meaning for all of this and I will find the way though sometimes I just wish life was easier, and at the same time I feel very greatful for the sensitivity.
Thank you again for putting this out there.

Hello Elizabeth, I just want to say thankyou for putting your story out there. It is so affirming to know I am not alone. I came across your video from watching some videos by your partner and his Dad, as I am doing trauma work. And in an interview between you and Forrest, you mentioned the pmdd video.
I have suffered with pmdd In varying degrees all my menstruating life. Having 5 children on top of that, cptsd and level 1 autism (aspegers) absolutely broke me. But I wanted to tell you that I have managed to find something that really really helps. Like it was a life saver. My marriage was just about to break. Through a Naturopath I have found that a combination of powerful herbs and a few supplemental has reduced my symptoms, I would say about 70%. It feels more like pms now rather than pmdd. Happy to share what I have found if you would find that helpful xx

This might be the most important video I’ve ever watched on RUclips. Everything you said resonated. Every. single. thing. I’ve constantly been on a journey of personal development and looking to be a better person but consistently “failing” at it, because I just can’t keep up with my hell weeks. Like you said that one week ultimately disguised itself as who I really am, and convinced me the other weeks were the abnormal ones. Anyway I feel like I have my power back :) Thank you!

Thank you for this video! It was really helpful. I will start tracking my cycles more carefully and mindfully. ❤ In alllll the research I’ve been doing I have come across that aerobic exercise (anything that gets your heart racing) works best for PMDD. So as much as I love yoga, I have to remember that I have to incorporate other types of exercise throughout the month. The same goes for weight lifting.

Thank you Elizabeth. I’m in my dark PMDD days and I can’t do anything, so I have this negative voice bashing me right now. So I relate totally to everything you say. My 2 previous cycles were totally fine so I naively thought I was fully healed, which makes this month even harder. I’m also interested in Jungian psychology so I’m glad I found you. I’m not sure how to take my negative voice if I should consider it reveals my shadow part tho? If it is my shadow part then it is truthful and I should integrate it. If it is just a bad voice, I should just say this is pmdd speaking and it’s not true. So I get kind of confused on how to approach it in a jungian way ? My mind is very confused from pmdd I’m sorry!
Anyway thank you again I hope you’ll keep doing beautiful videos, you’re helping so many women ❤

I’ve done cognitive behavioral therapy and it’s allowed me to understand, process and overall deal with my thoughts without getting sucked into them which is the place where you will know what’s true or not. It is very logic based so it works for most people.

I too take all of the above. I am vegan and regularly take Vitex, omega 3,6,9 a Vitamin B complex, prebiotics, vitamin D, magnesium zinc and calcium, b12, l-theanine, sometimes Ashwaghanda. I feel no changes, I take these every day for the past three years. I notice a slight increase in physical symptoms if I don’t take these, such as mastalgia but anxiety and depression and the other PMDD symptoms are still severe monthly

really love your approach! watching your videos, this question popped into my mind several times: have you considered that you might have adhd? i recently got diagnosed and very probably also have pmdd and according to the scarce sources, adhd in women manifests very differently than in men and changes throughout the menstrual cycle. according to a video by healthygamer (dr alok kanojia) on adhd and the mentrual cycle, women with adhd experience symptoms that seem very similar to those of pmdd to me (major disregulation, worsening of concentration issues, intense inner bully..)
