I've been following the pens since 1967..Les Binkley played goal against Boston in the old Garden...this is when Hockey was awesome...they should have kept there original color...

Bugsy held his own vs. Orr when they fought. Tough guy! The Blues should never have traded Ron Schock to y'all. Damn! Bowman's worst trade while in STL!

My Dad took me to this very 1st Pens NHL game in Oct '67 -vs- Montreal at the Civic Arena. We'd attended Hornets games before that. His love of hockey rubbed off on me.
I took my Son & Daughter to the Pens -vs- Montreal game at the Mellon.... exactly 40 years later (10-11-07).
I hope they'll be taking their kids to Pens games at a new arena in 40 years time (will always miss the Igloo though).

@abc1000001 To be perfectly honest with you I don't recall if I saw the penguin at that first game or not. I'm sure if they had the penguin at the time, I must have seen it, but I saw many of those early games with my Dad back then that I can't recall exactly when. I do remember the penguin was hard to get to cooperate in the beginning.

And they have a really dorky sounding name. Isn't there a better word that starts with a 'P' besides Penguin?

love those original Pens uniforms...Pens uniforms just have gotten uglier and uglier as the years have gone by...shame someone felt they had joing the same color scheme as the Steelers and Pirates.

Penguins had the best uniform of the six expansion teams. Blues a close second.

@@michaelleroy9281 I liked the MN color scheme. I would have like to have seen an outline of the Big Dipper a la the State Flag of Alaska.
