She reeks with class> Doesn't matter what she wears, an elegant dress or a sweatshirt, her whatever-it-is shines bright for all to see.

I love her personality, she wasn't playing te role LACEY, she was living it. And you can see what a true person she is, to get married with a black man, George Stanford Brown in "1966".

Hard to say which is more thrilling.....Tyne winning the Tony Award, that thunderous ovation when her name was called, or her beautiful 'wish' list that expressed her gratitude on that particular evening.

Is it silly to watch this ...more than once?
      No. WORDS MATTER.

"I wish you all good health, I wish you freedom from hatred, I wish my father was here." Those last few wishes were profound, but very thoughtful.

"Freedom from hatred" is an eloquent way to say it...the spirit of forgiveness we all strive for.

      Heartbreaking.
No matter the professional accolades and fame and money we get in life...we always just want our parents around.

The balcony loves her. She has a smile that seems to hurt her when she uses it.

    I ADORE HER!
Always have. And just had the opportunity to meet her at the 2019 Spirit Awards in L.A.
What a beautiful, kind spirit! So lovely. Does HER own thing and walked on the beach before the show. WHAT A LEGEND

I love, love, love Tyne Daly’s interpretation of Mama Rose! I have seen many other ones and her version is spot on! She tells the story so convincingly by way of impeccable use of pausing and word coloring. Her vocal range fits the score perfectly, which is never easy. I had also seen Stritch do the final song at the Carlyle and it was abysmal. Tyne brought down the house the night we saw it. We got the CD and played it across the country daily as we left our NYC home to San Francisco. Tyne was with us all the way on route 80West. She is truly one of the finest actors ever.

First Broadway production I ever attended : I drove poor Tom crazy as I recognized one song after another song after another song, always slugging his shoulder, " Can you BELIEVE this one is from this play, OmaaaGaaahdd " and he cowered, knowing another blow would land with the next song. I had loved her as Mary Beth Lacey and I was head-over-heels with true delight (it's a fanciful word, but that is the mood, Delight ) at seeing her and realizing how spectacular and classic this play is in American theater. I remember this award presentation at how happy I was .....and I remember her dad, what a real and sincere presence. ( I remember the hole in his shoe, too; after he'd walked that mile for a Camel -- dating myself here. )

Oh I wish we were still here in that era. Little did she know how incredibly overwhelming the hate would become and how the Career Politicians, most Democrats, were enabling it and RINOs doing nothing.
