These are all fabulous blues. I've done a lot of wonderful blues in my current home, and am moving to a new home where I can't see how to fit blue in. Yet. One blue you missed is a very pale sky blue, like the colour of the sky early on a summer morning. I have that painted on my kitchen ceiling, and also my upstairs hallway. I'll miss those blues.
I recently saw a white house with light blue shutters and a darker blue door. It was a very refreshing combinationI. I think that blue is an overlooked color. Thanks for showing blue paint some love.
What can I say, I'm wedded to the ethereal and yet to me rich green-blue color of Sea Salt which is a great backdrop to my many oil paintings and also my light Gustavian-style dining chairs and vintage Oriental rugs. I'd consider one of the more muted blues for lower kitchen cabinets with the upper cabinets perhaps Cloud White or Cotton Balls. I'm a traditionalist/maximalist and the grays, beiges and greiges would be death to my decorating style!
The color, Fountain so reminds me of the inside of a Grecian bathhouse. It’s a lot like the bright spa blue and this I would know because back in my middle school days, me and my school class went on a field trip to the bathhouses in Hot Springs, Arkansas and they are still there today but I still remember going through each one. There were so many kinds of blues, off whites, neutrals but seeing this whole video of just blue colors…brought me back to that field trip from over 20+ years ago. My favorite blue colors in this video would have to be After the Storm, Fountain and Indigo Batik.
Thanks for giving us the BLUES, James. My favorites are Hyper Blue, Loyal Blue (similar to BM Blueberry in our bedroom), Indigo Batik and Fountain. The rest, to me were grays.
My choice is Indigo Batik, very traditional imho. My 1970s bf was obsessed with Celestial. On more than one occasion I came home from work to find our living room painted in that color. Least favorite: Fountain (too loud for my personality).
Oh my goodness!!! I’ve waited for this video for two years! I love Aleutian, Celestial & Little Boy Blu… Wow! You knocked my socks off …lol. Thank you, James. Could I interest you in a video with 10 moody, deep blue grays?
I painted my bedroom Nova Scotia Blue by Benjamin Moore and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately I had to move out of that apartment to get away from a stalker but I can't wait til I can paint another bedroom that same blue.
I'm so glad your talking about blue. I am thinking of painting our house with Favorite Jeans SW 9147, the trim Icicle SW 6238, and for an accent ( mainly the front door) Dark Night SW 6237 what do you think? I did consider After the Storm, would that work better?
Check out SW Olympus White. SW describes it as a cool grey, but it reads blue against my oak bathroom cabinet and darker floors. It’s not at all “white”.
I’m painting my walls and ceiling’s Aleutian. Cabinets and trim are white. Floors are going to be Stain master Henley Oak. I need a darker blue for accent walls that are going to be shiplap in the laundry room and on the island pony wall.
What about morning fog where does it fall in theses blue grays. I want a light gray with white color undertones my ceiling fan puts out 3,000k . This will be for my 10x12 bedroom. As I’m getting a rebuild from the water heater busting and contractor paint people use Sherwin Williams paint. What would be a good light calming gray in Sherwin Williams paint I was thinking North Star or evening shadow. I tried morning fog and it’s to dark and strong of a gray to me.
Love! Painting my exterior a version as little boy blu but it's from dutch boy called frosted olive. It's so interesting how the light makes it change colors. Btw could you please do a video on dutch boy from menards? Idk if your familiar or not but it's the only paint we have around. Anywhere that's sells bm or sw is hours away. Thanks your doing amazing. Rust or copper or terracotta colors would be a great video too.
Is there any way you can tell me if you have done or are going to do anything on 2 blues that I am horribly undecided to do for my kitchen. The blues are called Windmill Wings and Sweet Bluette. Im leaning towards Sweet Bluette because I adore the sheerest of sheer colors so I can interchange draperies easily. I would absolutely appreciate any video on these 2 blues and thank you💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Nice blues I always enjoy your videos but can you do a video that includes nova scotia blue from benjamin moore I have that on my front doors, would like some exterior colors to go with it
I always enjoy your color reviews. Now, i would ask your opinion on SW Sleepy Blue for my liv.room walls with SW Alabaster for an accent wall. Will work together? Please let me know. Thanks, Fanny
I am painting all my cabinets. I am considering the blue BM Ice Cube Silver. At 25%. Then another option which I think looks like it has a green undertone is repose gray for the cabinets and the walls. And I am thinking decreasing the saturation level with repose gray Do you have any other suggestions
I always hate a white room. Its a cop out. You can at least put a strong color on one wall. Fact is, you can never have light drama in a room if you can not control the light to create drama. I just moved into a garden apartment. The galley kichen was white, walls floor and ceiling. I had no grounding when I went into or worked in the room. I used a dark dusty rose over the counters on the back splach. I now have grounding when I go in there . Im a senior in my 70s and been fine arts major all my life, and honestly the white on white fad throws me off my balance, for real. If you dont have color drama, and you dont need much, then you are not controling the eye of the viewer and all you can look at is archetechture and building design. What fun is that? And these people buying white for the whole house. All whites are not equal, some whites will have the light bouncing all over the place impossible to control. You need sun glasses to go in there. But some whites absorb the light and are not as bad generally they are pastel colors or light tinted whites. Try a nice inky color on one wall for impact. Be brave.

Blue is my favorite color. I love it in all it's incarnations!

Loved the blues. Didn’t care for grayish blues. Great video. It must have been hard for you to stay away from the greens you love.😉
That Loyal blue is stunning classy & moody ❤
Yaay James, you brought the Blues. Your greens are my Blues. I love greens too, but anything Blue is at the top for me.
Oo I love blue. So clean and fresh looking. My favourite is Little Boy Blu.
We used Indigo Blue in our home ---it was gorgeous!
The color, Fountain so reminds me of the inside of a Grecian bathhouse.

This is so funny. I'm old enough to appreciate this.
James I love the mention of After The Storm, and I would kill for a color pairing video on it. Especially for dedicated, dark home theater rooms.
Oh my goodness!!! I’ve waited for this video for two years! I love Aleutian, Celestial & Little Boy Blu… Wow! You knocked my socks off …lol. Thank you, James. Could I interest you in a video with 10 moody, deep blue grays?
If Indigo Batik and After the Storm had a baby, that would be my favorite.
I am ALL about the blues. Favorites? Azure Tide (SW 9684) and Dress Blues (SW 9176).
Loving the look of Little Boy Blu!
We have SW Meditative on our bedroom walls. I love that, as well.
I painted my bedroom Nova Scotia Blue by Benjamin Moore and absolutely loved it.
Unfortunately I had to move out of that apartment to get away from a stalker but I can't wait til I can paint another bedroom that same blue.
Can you please tell us what kind of finishes you would go with these colors ? Also, if and when you would use it on the ceilings ? Thank you.
Any blue. All blues. Favorites.
Love celestial, Aleutian and indigo batik, thanks ❣️🤩 Celestial is so spa like!

I love the fountain!!!

Really liked indigo blue. Would it look good for the exterior of the house?
I’m painting my walls and ceiling’s Aleutian. Cabinets and trim are white. Floors are going to be Stain master Henley Oak. I need a darker blue for accent walls that are going to be shiplap in the laundry room and on the island pony wall.
Blue world
In this video, I liked hyper, loyal and aleutian. Thank you for sharing.
I'm leaning towards cosmic blue. I grabbed a chip of it today. It's super bright and pretty. Would do it with canary yellow and a bright neon pink.
Aleutian is a great blue for my living room.

Will Aleutian go with a large west facing 2 story livingroom with lots of windows and gray sectional?

Love Aleutian

Love North Star, but who can go wrong with blue? I have its darker paint strip sibling, Krypton, on my open concept spaces.
Nice blues I always enjoy your videos but can you do a video that includes nova scotia blue from benjamin moore I have that on my front doors, would like some exterior colors to go with it
Whats the green onnwall behing you? its so soothing
You missed out the darker blue - which almost looks like black ? Can you please tell us what it is called in the Sherwin Williams palette ?
Your video appears just as I'm thinking about painting the house 😂
I always enjoy your color reviews. Now, i would ask your opinion on SW Sleepy Blue for my liv.room walls with SW Alabaster for an accent wall. Will work together? Please let me know. Thanks, Fanny
Indigo Batik and Aleutian
Lil boy blu… considering walls trim and doors? Your opinion?
I am painting all my cabinets. I am considering the blue BM Ice Cube Silver. At 25%. Then another option which I think looks like it has a green undertone is repose gray for the cabinets and the walls. And I am thinking decreasing the saturation level with repose gray

Do you know of any denim blue paint colors light, medium, dark?
what white paint goes with marian blue paint

Hi I’m new to your channel. I just have a question 🙋♀️ do you know what color is this.
Sorry I’m not able to send the color. 🤦♀️ I took a screenshot of it and I have it saved to my pictures 🤦♀️.
You should not have a dark brown door! Paint it a hue!
🚨
not a blue paint person here.
Ok
