Pantera sounds heavier than ANYTHING theyve done. Say what ya want about the founder but Mayhem shouldve died with their creator. Varg's, "Berzum" is far better than 90% of Mayhem's catalog after that first CD. You fuckin poser

I prefer this live version with Dead Ohlin of "Freezing Moon". If someone listen the official version with Dead of this song, he'll realize this live version is a bit different. In my opinion, the live version is amazing. It is on point, like the Dead's voice, so I prefer this version to the official version. It is too beautiful! 😍

it's one of the many different flavors of the dmds album. it has moments that are better and more trve, as well as moments that are awkward, amateur, and campy.
it's actually worse in my opinion because the best tracks are life eternal, cursed in eternity, and the self titled "dmds" track. i think a lot of people just like to ride dead.
however the solo here indeed hits different, and has more soul to it... i love how it's all 8-bit, jazzy, blown out, subtly evil, and how notes just ooze out at certain points. euronymous was a trve visionary and an og when it came to tone. perhaps my favorite metal tone ever.

Mayhem is one of the most popular black metal bands and is literally the first band most people get into. Stop trying to gate keep this genre of music. Even if it got mainstream exposure not many people would stay long enough to appreciate it.

This rocks I wish the vocals were like this or similar on the new album new album vocals suck all soft talking the music is good but vocals ruin it.
I think Attila's vocals were better in The Mysteriis... because they were really unique. Where Dead really shone, though, was the "December Moon" tape he did with the band Morbid before joining to Mayhem. "My Dark Subconscious" one of the best BM tracks ever, and mostly because of Dead's vocals.

i actually prefer attila's voice but i'm here for that solo @4:53 . the sloppy playing and tone makes it sooo much better.
i've never heard euronymous pull of the legato in the beginning that's on the album. i think he was technical limited, but man did he play with soul.
