You are a true mayhem fan
39:41 🐷🐷🐷🐷😵😵😵😵🙈🙈🙈🙈
Thanks
I used to have it on DVD, until someone borrowed and never returned it. Maniac is one sick bastard! Thanks!
got the virus?
I have it on VHS!!!
The speed of Hellhammer is just fuckin insane!
you mean Heyhammer.
he is a fvcking machine gun
The speed 'Carnage' is performed with is unmatched!
He is using drum triggers which makes it a bit easier to play like that. Basically they record a sample of each drum being hit full force, and then place a sensor on the drum skin. Whenever that drum is hit in the slightest, it sends the signal that plays the recorded sample. You can plate SUPER fast if you just barely hit the drum head in this fashion.
@@kensloth That's all true. However, many "old school" drummers try triggers and realize they are not as accurate or consistent as they thought they were (you can even find videos of Hellhammer himself playing badly). Also, if they set the trigger sensitivity to "too sensitive" there's a possibility of double hits or random misfires from the other drum kit elements vibrating. So it still takes skill, not the same skill as non-triggered, but nonetheless. Also, on "De Mysteriis" he used (combined) triggers for attack and microphones for ambience, so on most days I'm pretty sure he can play both well.
Say what you will but Maniac had awesome stage presence + vocals, and Blasphemer was extremely innovative composer. My fav era
Absolutely agree, i miss this line-up a lot.
true
*Best lineup of that era.*
maniac was/is a brilliant vocalist and performer every time i see mayhem live with attila trying to perform anything from ADOW i cringe
M'y fav Era too
This was shot in 2000 and has hella good quality
The HUGE amount of talent from every member and the intensity of the performance makes this concert one of the best Metal gigs to ever take place.
Strong nostalgia for this era Mayhem... Maniac and Blasphemer 🔥
Maniac and Blasphemer. As much as they hated each other, they were probably the best creative duo in Mayhem history.
did they hated each other?
@@nick_be9159 hell yeah
Just like Dead and Euronymous
Mayhem is a SHITTY band
Davis Dunn was that comment really necessary?
Legendary line up.
Gods of black metal.🖤🤘
Weird era of Mayhem: Electronic, Avant garde, Progressive... A f* maniac on vocals and crazy electronic sound on drums.... Still Mayhem is my favourite band of all times
Their best era in my view, love the creativity and them staying far away from the "trve kvlt" nonsense.
The 2 comments up this speak for me lol
Maniac. What a guy. Love him🤘🏿
I love maniacs vocals
Me too man. He is very underrated.
you guys should check out wurdulak, he's at his best in that band imo
Yeah he had a better day that night...
@@LucasRocha127 He was at his best in 1986 when he recorded his demo, the most extreme vocals in 1986, so extreme Euronymous visited him after hearing it to get him to record Deathcrush with them. He must have killed his vocal cords when recording it. Check it out.
17:05 he starts rapping lol
Pure chaos, pure MayheM ✊
Admiro esse vocalista
One of the best concerts in the fuKKKing history of metal!!! Blasphemer is a fucking genius, and he's BACK with RUÏM now! Go check it out if you haven't, it's 2000s Mayhem all over again.
Man rune is the man for sure. Killer guitar player
Yo tenía ese DVD en el 2003. Tenía 14 años grandes recuerdos CSM
Maniac has one of the most unique Black Metal voices.
Mayhem's best era in my opinion, Blasphemer's writing, riffs and Maniac's lyrics were an unbeatable combo.
Lots of great concepts and progressive stuff musically. They pushed black metal beyond its limitations, like no one ever did before them.
Yeah, the Wolf's Lair Abyss is one of those moments were things were divinely crafted. I liked this lineup the best.
Seeing Mayhem with Exhumed, Hate Eternal, and Origin was my first metal show for the Grand Declaration tour. It was fucking amazing.
@@remmy908 A lot of people also get more open minded after growing out of the "trve kvlt" nonsense.
I remember back in the days a lot of people were so offended by Maniac's "rapping" and the use of electronics sounds. GDOW was and is amazing, true evolution.
By the way, i don't like the 2018 remaster. GDOW was perfect as it is, it's cold and sterile for a reason.
WLA/Agdow/Chimera is peak mayhem.
Attila is great, but he can’t compare with this insanity that was early 2000s Mayhem.
Why is the volume on this so low?
The best of mayhem ever
excellent
Maniac, great vocalist of Mayhem
Cool tour to see, the snare sound took us all by surprise....still does to this day for me.
Amazing vocals
Love the Sylvester Anfang intro
Waiting for Mayhem concert in 2021 in Monterrey Mexico.....

9:50 BRUTAL🤘🏼
Beautiful
For me, Maniac should never have left the band. His vocal is really cool !!!
@Adamasto Magna He wasted, right?I hope he never be like that.
Yeah his vocals are fucking sick
he fucked himself with alcohol that's why necrobutcher and blashpemer kicked him out
Attila is better than Manic
@@lvthngaming6278 different stiles, you can't compare they lol
I used to own this on DVD. Regret selling it
24 years later I still listen every now and then. How many members of this band are still around or alive cause i remember someone in the band unalived someone years ago.
Their original vocalist killed himself in 1991
Their original guitarist got murdered in 1993
Only the original bassist left and the vocalist on this show is the guy who made the vocals on the Deathcrush album in 1987
@@Kondziorek55 well, actually, the original vocalist is Maniac and Messiah, Dead only became the vocalist after maniac leaved after the release of the deathcrush EP
Hellhammer insane drumming😅
Love the Type O Negative cosplay
😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😸😸😸😸😸
Sou de Portugal muito bom 🔥
they are nuts ^^ MAYHEM 4EVER
I was raised with this DVD.
now i figureed it out that the sound recording was shitty for a Live album.
it sounds like if it was recorded with a microwave
Excelente, con Maniac y Blasphemer
Waiting for the damned soul that is going to post the timestamps for the whole set 😄
Is every upload of this concert doomed to be way too quiet? From 2007 to now you'd think someone would have learned to boost the volume to -6dB...
Needs about a +48 boost.
I own the vhs... wanna buy it?
@@joshuar3632 I do
@@h4des.1 ok
@@joshuar3632 do you have a sc or? Like I wanna buy it fr
I love Maniac’s vocals and Hellhammer’s drumming. Both underrated in my opinion
how are the members of greatest black metal band underrated?
@@obrik666because of the fucking social media
People who just got to know mayhem adore dead and euronymous just because they're dead lol
Thanks for the Upload

🤘🤘🤘🤘😈💀💀🌕
The only song by them, isn't that?
Smell like poser spirit :v
''Y'' is currently under quarantine.
Possibly
Why the toms sound like a hello kitty drumkit
hahahahaha
Maybe Hellhammer just stuck Pearl logos over a Hello Kitty kit🤘🤘😎
Because they're triggered. And i love the sound, it fit that era, they're sterile and brutal.
It was their style for “a grand declaration of war” album.
Probably made out of kiddies
golden era upon the genius of Rune!
Here's a "Y "for you. Please, use it.
Looks like they took it
Great idea, to maniaks - respect. Spikewires&maddogs.... Lovly
"Able to converse with a few dead souls."
Friedrich Nietzsche
I. BUY the MUSIC...
II. SUPPORT THE ARTIST(S) & the SCENE...
Maniac was into Nietzsche and nihilism a lot in those days, interesting concepts.
Hellhammer sounds like he's shooting machine guns for the drums. Remarkable talent.
Also why are they dressed like they're Kiss or Motley Crüe?
It was 2000... I think it was Maniac's thing that they all adopted for a while..
better than the childish cloaks that they bought at the halloween store. lol
I'd take a cloak over that fruity see through shirt any day.
@@LadyFairChildVideo I think both looks/looked cool. Although the cloaks probably look a bit more "timeless" whereas this here looks decisively like a fashion style from the past lol.
When maniac arrives... whouu...
Who is Mahem? Looks like Mayhem but better.
Read my mind!
It's the sound you make when clearing your throat
I like their music
Someday hopefully there will be a remaster of this.
I had it on DVD and remember it included a very weird extra content video in which Maniac slashes the arm of a woman with a knife in the backstage while he and some members of the band were singing the song ''Maniac''
necrobutcher was drunk as fuck.
I think crystallised pain in deconstruction is the best black metal live ever recorded.. so far..
With the next one, burried by time and dust...
After listend that, you know who are the boss.
Maniac, best-mayhem vocals ,by far🍻
Uhhh no that’s dead
Damn, Hellhammer is such a good drummer. But the drum sound on this video is horrible in my opinion. The drum tone is plastic as hell, it's a damn shame because the rest of the band sound amazing.
popcorn tone
@@graveyardclassics actually i love that synthetic tone, sutis fheir music from that time very well
I fully agree with u!
@@zbigniewiksinski same man, I think the tone of underrated
He’s playing on an electric drum kit, likely built in the late 90’s/early 00’s when drum samples sounded super plastic and sterile. And yes, it sounds awful, the snare sounds like a worn out Pepsi can, the toms sound like they were ripped from
an 80’s rock kit and the kicks sound like someone is shooting laser beams. Not sure what their sound tech was thinking picking such shit drum samples.
Solid band. I really enjoyed their last album, Damon.
Damon.
Produced by Malon Wayans.
Damon?
Damon by maiden
Matt. Dai-mon.
Listen to crystalized pain in deconstruction live here, and listen the album version...
I really hate Hellhammers drumsound in this one! Especially the clicky snare. Drumming wise the guy was on point!
I'm guessing he was endorsed by Roland Percussion at the time and this was before really good drum samples for EDrum kits. Lot's of weird mis-fires of the sample triggers, too.
thankfully he doesn't use triggers anymore
Hellhammers kick drum with the clicky sound in this one sounds so horrible
The snare is electric and it sounds like an old, worn out Pepsi can. The toms are triggered internally and have that cheesy 80’s ekit tom sound. And the kick drums sound like fire crackers. 🤮
@@cbl6520 so in other words , black metal
Yea, Maniac rules!! Full of anger
se speed Black Metal que manejaba Run Erickssen sin duda un concierto memorable
I love Mahem xD
After all these years I'm sure not sure what's up with the sound of the drums on this particular recording.
It definitely looks like he is using electronic drum pads, which is probably why
it was during Heyhammer's trigger/electronic drums era.
@@LadyFairChildVideo It sounds like shit imo! So many better triggersounds available by then.
Hellhammer didn't like real drums sound back then
@@frozenrealm666
This was in 2001, drum trigger technology was still in a primal stage. You didn’t have the life like, organic samples of today, it all sounded super synthetic and plasticy.
best Mayhem line up !!!!

🤯😱👍🏻🔥🔥
Maniac had sick vocals until Wacken 2004... alcohol really screwed the guy's vocals up
until now that was the only time I'd heard him live, was wonderin why everyone rated him so much. Shame he destroyed his voice.
@@cameronlambert5185 I rate him as the best frontman Mayhem ever had, not just for the unique vocals, wich may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for the awesome lyrics and concepts he did bring into Mayhem.
Very creative guy, and just had a sinister stage presence. Unfortunately he destroyed himself with drugs and alcohol and had to leave the band.
Now he's sober and stable. He did few lives with Mayhem again in 2016, check them out. And recorded a cover track in Mayhem's last EP.
Been putting it off since i first learned of Mayhem. Well I'm bored with the scene so here I am.
Legendary show !
For a lot people unpopular comment, but i ❤ Maniac more than Attila ( the Maniac era was better for me )
Maniac was amazing for me also the best ever on Mayhem, Chimera is in my opinion their best Album they ever did.
@@v1j7k for me Grand Declaration of War, but Chimera Is great too!
And i also like the album Skandinavisk Misantropi from Skitliv.... Maniac lyrics and singing ! Very great album!
@@v1j7k
Spot on brother! Chimera, along with the wolf's lair abyss EP are, in my opinion, their best output. Grand declaration has couple great songs, but it is not equally great for the duration of the record. Chimera and wolf's are perfect from start to finish. I think they lost some of that speed and songwriting abilities when blasphemer er and maniac left
Maniac was their best lyricist, and yes the era between Wolf's Lair Abyss and Chimera with Blasphemer was Mayhem at their absolute peak.
Experimenting with avant-garde and prog elements, fantastic records.
Maniac >>>> Atilla
FIRE the sound guy
