No bottles thrown.. equals happy crowd.. yay!! UK rox!! 15 and 16 yr old Japanese girls might have been a little nervous... Luv them to death!! Su's smile at the end, when she knew she had totally won the audience was just sooooooo amazing! Just awesome!!
The Sonisphere Miracle. At the start of the set, most of that crowd had no idea who they were. You can even hear some laughing at them during their promo videos before songs in the fancams. At the end of their set, the crowd was fully behind them and loved them. Su commented on it in multiple interviews how the entire crowd turned, got into it, and it is THE moment she knew that BABYMETAL was going to be successful in the west. Ironically its the first time they ever played a festival in the west. Hows that for taking your one shot and nailing a bullseye. The entire set is a work of crowd investment art. Su worked them hard, and gave them this to end the show. I havent heard her perform IDZ this passionately since this show, and she has performed it almost 100 times live since. But this one, has a special place in my heart, because after the 2 minute mark, she transitions from her rehearsed game face, and is ACTUALLY ENJOYING HERSELF. The smile never once leaves her face once it comes out during the first "kara" belt.
What I love most about this video is Su‘s obvious happiness after the last „we are“ chant when she waves at the crowd. The girls were so nervous and even frightened before that show, you can see the weight falling off her shoulders at the end. Watching this makes me so happy every time. :-D
Great reaction. Probably 95-97% of that crowd didn't have a clue who or what BABYMETAL were 30 minutes earlier. Most were fans by the end of that 30 minutes and calling for "One more song". This song (just call it IDZ - but for the correct pronunciation you can hear them say it when they all put their thumbs up together - means 'Bullying, No More, Forever') has some very well written and very meaningful lyrics. It was the second song they ever performed when they were first starting out, it's release was held back for a bit as it is too much like straight metal and their producer Kobametal wanted to establish they were not going to be limited in any way in what they do, so 'iine' was the second song they actually released instead (I don't remember if you've seen that one yet). Sonisphere 2014 was their very first time in the UK and their first major event outside of Asia - they did two small shows in Paris and Cologne a few days before this where Yui and Moa celebrated their 15th birthdays. Su-metal was 16. They were originally booked to play a small side stage or tent at Sonisphere Festival in front of maybe a couple of thousand people, but their video for their song 'Gimme Chocolate' had gone viral and they were attracting attention - they also had a show booked in London for a couple of days later that had to be moved to a bigger venue as the tickets had sold out so fast - so the organisers moved them to the main stage with just a couple of months notice. Some small minded idiots who had seen 30 seconds of the 'Gimme Chocolate' video and (mistakenly) made up their minds BABYMETAL must be some sort of money making gimmick band weren't happy that they were playing at Sonisphere, they were even more upset to hear they would be on the main stage and they posted threats on social media of urine bottles being thrown and booing them off stage, but the vast majority of the people there (50-60,000 UK metalheads) didn't have a clue who they were. From back stage the girls couldn't see the crowd and were worried nobody had come to see them and what they should do if there was nobody there - they walked on stage to see a sea of puzzled faces - hairy, tattooed metalheads and all sorts ("the typical UK crowd") wondering why three little Japanese girls in red tutus were on stage at one of the biggest metal festivals. I believe Su has said that as they walked on and saw all the puzzled faces she thought to herself "This will be fun. Let's knock it out of the park." IDZ was the last song of their 25-30 minute set. They played just 5 songs and the crowd were wanting more and calling for "one more song" at the end. They gained a whole lot of new fans that day. They had the biggest mosh pits of the whole weekend and their merch outsold every other band playing there (including big names like Slayer, Anthrax, Iron Maiden and Metallica). They have spoken in interviews about how they consider this one of their biggest milestones and it being the moment they felt accepted by the metal community and really began to believe their music could break the language and other barriers. Su-metal has described how the sea of puzzled faces they saw as they walked on stage changed to smiles as their set went on and how it went from just the front few rows jumping and joining in and looked like a wave running back through the crowd from front to back as more and more people followed suit. Yes please to more reactions - and yes to live performances too. The official videos are all good ('iine' would be a fun one to watch for example), but they are a live performance act - live is where they shine whether that is one of their huge arena shows with all the production and flames etc in Japan, a festival like this or one of the smaller venues they might play with maybe 5k people as they tour the world.
Knowing how UK crowds can be, I was really nervous for them since it was their first show outside of Japan but I should’ve never doubted them cuz they won over that crowd even when they were moved to the main stage last minute. I remember watching this live for the first time and seeing them win over that crowd made me super proud. At the end when the crowd chanted “WE WANT MORE! WE WANT MORE!” It was like seeing your little sisters succeed after being nervous for them the whole time.
This is their International breakout. It was also the beginning of the Japanese Rock/Metal international breakout. Band Maid came next touring in England, France, Germany, etc. What is fun is watch the interviews of the girls by the European Metal press. They were both fascinated and scared by them. Their band merchandise out sold all the other bands at Sonisphere. The biggies were there too.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🚫 The song title translates as "Bullying, No, Forever", although "Zettai" can also mean "absolutely". They were bumped up to a main stage once their music video for 'Gimme Chocolate!!' started to go viral outside of Japan. That was a couple of months before this Sonisphere appearance. My favorite part of 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' is still the part where Su threatens to kick Yui and Moa in the head if they don't stop bullying each other. And this anti-bullying song gets some of the biggest mosh pits. : ) I can't imagine the strength of nerve it took for a 16 year old Su, and just turned 15 year olds Yui and Moa to take that stage. And to leave them wanting more. I'd say they made some new fans that day. They followed this up with a headlining concert at The Forum in London two days later. This was a classic Kami Band line-up with Mikio Fujioka (RIP) and Leda Cygnus on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums.
This was a very special show for the girls. This was really the first time the band realized they might be able to successfully put on a legit world tour. Before this show, they had never performed in front of a large outdoor audience with the Yuibot mark IV, which was in fully autonomous mode here and didn't require a physical tether. Her battery capacity was still limited, which is why the set was only 5 songs long, and her microwave receiver failed mid-performance, so the secondary antenna was deployed from her skirt for this song, but it was a great proof-of-concept that the Yuibot could finally perform on stages that weren't especially built for her. The rest, as they say, is history!
Was there ….not through choice(long story) …..Having never heard the name BABYMETAL before I became a die hard fan……what a performance. Easily the best of that weekend they have only gotten better. Where I was standing everyone was going crazy….I was near the front and could see their happy smiles at the end………made the weekend worth it after all.
If you want to know who did the back flip in the open pit. All is revealed by 2:18 in this reaction below. G.O.T Games - First Time Hearing BABYMETAL "Ijime,Dame,Zettai Live at Sonisphere 2014" Reaction
I see tons of reactors jumping on the Babymetal train. The one that I think people need to see is headbanger , but the live from the budakon version from 2021 . Everyone keeps reacting to the legends concert. To me the reason it's better is Moa actually gets a chance to sing lead for the second half of the song and you get a chance to see that Su isn't the only one that can really sing , the younger girls are more than just props.
I always find it ironic, a song about bullying and poor Yui is harassed by her skirt the whole song :). People will always say live is better than MV simply because the sound is more real, but I do enjoy the videos simply because if you don't understand Japanese, you can better understand what the song is trying to say.
Hi Brandy, great reaction! I think it will be safe to say we, the fans, want you to react to all of it lol That being said, I also think it would be a really cool idea (I haven't seen any reactors do this yet) if you reacted to their first single, Doki, Doki Morning. The earliest one you can find, and then after that reacted to one of their latest songs. Something like Metal Kingdom or Light and Darkness, or Divine Attack and then you can discuss your thoughts about how Su's vocals have changed or whatnot. I think that would be interesting to watch a reactor do. Anyhow, great reaction, and looking forward to more!
Not a major stage or arena. Just a 50,000 plus crowd watching them. Most for the 1st time.
Sonisphere is a hard place for these girls. It was their first concert outside japan.
What I love most about this video is Su‘s obvious happiness after the last „we are“ chant when she waves at the crowd. The girls were so nervous and even frightened before that show, you can see the weight falling off her shoulders at the end. Watching this makes me so happy every time. :-D

Let's knock it out of the park."
IDZ was the last song of their 25-30 minute set.

Lyrics Overview:-
IJIME, DAME, ZETTAI (Bullying, No, Absolutely)
[Rururu...]
[Ah.]
Dreaming, I couldn't have even it.
Between the light and the darkness, I stayed alone.
Those who got hurt were not only I myself,
but also those who kept on watching me. It was you.
Confidence, [Have it!]
I couldn't have. [Don't be beaten!]
I kept on hiding [I dislike to be found!]
until yesterday. [Yesterday is gone!]
But good-bye to yesterdays' myself. [Bye-bye!]
Bullying. [No!] Bullying. [No!]
It's disgraceful. [No! No! No! No!]
Sometimes you get hurt, sometimes you hurt someone,
and we all get badly hurt.
Fox, [Fly!] Fox, [Fly!]
I'm sure you can fly. [Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly!]
Let your pain and sadness all go outside!
It's OK because I'll protect you.
I didn't show my tears, and in the night I was about to cry,
in a room deep inside my heart, I stayed alone.
Those who hurt me were not only someone else,
but also those who pretended not to notice. It was my friend.
Nothing [Nothing!]
could I say. [Say nothing!?]
I was about to give up [No easy throwing out!]
until yesterday. [Yesterday is gone!]
But good-bye to yesterdays' myself. [Bye-bye!]
Bullying. [No!] Bullying. [No!]
It's disgraceful. [No! No! No! No!]
Sometimes you get hurt, sometimes you hurt someone,
and we all get badly hurt.
Fox, [Fly!] Fox, [Fly!]
I'm sure you can fly. [Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly!]
Let your pain and sadness all go outside!
It's OK because I'll protect you.
Pain...
Aching...
All the while...
Alone...
Your heart...
Pretending not to notice...
Anymore...
I'll never get away.
Bullying, No, Absolutely.
Full of dearest-ness, it's pressuring but also encouraging.
Anymore, anymore your...
I don't want to see anymore your tearful face.
Bullying. [No!] Bullying. [No!]
It's disgraceful. [No! No! No! No!]
Sometimes you get hurt, sometimes you hurt someone,
and we all get badly hurt.
Fox, [Fly!] Fox, [Fly!]
I'm sure you can fly.
Let your pain and sadness all go outside!
It's OK because I'll protect you.
Bullying, No. [No! No! No! No!]
Bullying, No, forever.

This was a classic Kami Band line-up with Mikio Fujioka (RIP) and Leda Cygnus on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums.
Oh i love that!
The moment BABYMETAL when took over the world 🤘🦊🤘 One of their most important concerts in their career, fearless performance!
BABYMETAL IS THE BEST!!GOOSEBUMPS. 🔥🔥🔥🤘🦊🤘
YASSSS
Oh wow i didnt know that!
in real life they were happy no glasses was droped to them.
It always sounds a lot different when it is a festival its got that unique vibe to it & this band can really play festival or not.
Spectacular, in every scene of the world

Nice reaction I agree with everything you said More BabyMetal please
thank you!
In less than 9 hours, BabyMetal will drop their latest live music video - Light and Darkness. I'm so excited.♥️ Thanks for your great reaction.🦊
Ill have to check it out!

You really should check out the lyrics as well. Quite inspirational.
Will do!
The budokan concert is not the one Moa gets to sing in. It's the Legend M concert from 2019
😁😁😁🤘🤘🤘

thank you!
As a metalhead I'm not a fan of Babymetal or this type of metal, but I appreciate and respect them!
😁🤘🏼🦊
Babymetal isn't even like this anymore. They're turning into a regular metal band. This was a long time ago.
That‘s cool, not everyone can like everything. As long as people treat even things they don’t like with respect, we can all get along. Thumbs up!
You just haven't heard their better stuff.
Check out Rondo of Nightmare with Mischiefs of God intro Budokan live if your looking for heavy
As a metal head Babymetal is a much needed breath of fresh air to the stale stanky same old screamo metal.
more babymetal pls?🥺
can do!
@@SlayWithBrandy wahooooo
I love that song but ive never done a reaction video of it! I definitely could!
