This was a breakthrough performance for Babymetal. They were originally scheduled to play a side stage for 3000 or so Babymetal fans. Then they were moved to the main stage in front of 55,000 fans, most of whom knew nothing about Babymetal. At the start of the set, Moa's headset didn't work and Yui had to help her start the choreography. Then during this song, Yui's skirt tore and got in her way the whole song. Through it all, the girls remained professional and relatively calm. At the end of their set, the crowd was chanting "We want more". Over the next few days, Babymetal Tshirts became the number one selling item at Sonisphere.
saigonbond the only thing I would say is wrong/fabricated about the story is that many people say it was last minute that they got moved. It was at least a month in advance, if not two. People make it sound like it was the night before or the morning of that the change was made, but they knew it in advance, just not how big the crowd would be.
This is where it all took off...imagine having a 55000 people in the crowd infront of you who basically didn't know anything about Babymetal and then winning them all over! The ladies do have some magic powers!
Excellent reaction. Their first major show outside of Asia aged 16 and just turned 15, virtually unknown to the majority of the crowd ... and they owned it. Su even had the crowd singing along to Gimme Chocolate in Japanese earlier in the set. Another vote for Megitsune for your next Babymetal reaction (official video and a live performance would be great).
Listen to the crowd of people at the very end of this performance. These people really had no clue as to who or what BABYMETAL was about when they took the stage initially...but at the end, so very many were chanting "WE WANT MORE!...WE WANT MORE!.." Truly the defining moment in BABYMETAL's breakthrough from becoming being considered just a gimmick from Japan to becoming a true force of metal music to be reckoned with. Until now, my favorite performance of them for the obvious reasons.
IDZ was the song that turned me into a Kitsune. So it will always have a special place in my heart. Now, concerning Sonisphere. I did not write the following (and I wish I knew who did), but it's a great writeup on what happened here, so I'm posting it: Sonisphere, dramatized :) This was their first tour outside of Japan (if you don't count their Singapore appearance), and their first UK show. They booked a small stage but, for an unknown reason, they were moved to the main stage at the last minute. Instead of 3-5 thousand of their loyal fans they faced 50+ thousand trve metalheads. This was a crowd waiting for Ghost, Deftones, Anthrax, and Iron Maiden. 90% of them knew absolutely nothing about BM. BM released their debut album just a few months before. The above mentioned bands had several albums and decades of history behind them. They were girls between 14-16, all their songs had backing tracks, they were not singing in English (the only other metal band that could get away with it in recent history was Rammstein). The backing band was made up of session musicians. The girls were singing about chocolate, and they were playing hide and seek on the stage, literally. They had their own made up fairy tale religion about the Fox God, and their hand sign was mocking the devil's horns. They were nobodies and they didn't belong on the main stage of a metal festival. They knew it well, and they expected to get booed and bottled, which was not at all uncommon at UK festivals. There were technical problems during the soundcheck, and the atmosphere was visibly tense. There's a backstage photo of the girls before the show and their faces read "WE ARE F*CKED" And they went on the stage and Yui's hoodie got stuck in her hair, Moa's headset did not work and she missed the opening moves of the choreo. There was a close up of Yui's face on the projector screen at this moment, she saw what was happening, and for a moment her expression was like "ok, forget it, NOW we are f*cked..." Yui's skirt also started to fall apart at the last song, IDZ. So what else happened? The crowd got a taste of the band at the soundcheck and they loved it. Then there was a funny Star-Wars style video intro shown on the big screens so that everybody knew that this band is about fun. The first song started (BM Death) and 30 seconds later there were moshpits forming. In the next song, Gimme Chocco, there was a call-and-response where Su effortlessly made the crowd sing the chorus with a Japanese accent. Next came CMIYC with the solos and everybody shat themselves. Then Megitsune and IDZ. The biggest circle pits and WOD's of the festival. At the end the crowd was chanting "we want more", everybody was talking about them later as the highlight of the festival, and their T-shirts were top sellers even two days later.
I can't imagine how freaked out they were standing backstage right before they had to walk out...being that young, just bumped up to the huge stage from the small one, speaking an entirely different language, and knowing your music is going to be pushing boundaries and not knowing how the crowd will react. That took some major guts and they did awesome. There's a fan cam compilation of this entire show, definitely worth checking out. This was the last song of their set so it's cool to see the entire thing start to finish.
They are the gateway/reason i discover a lot of talented J-Rock/Metal bands including other Idol group and Visual Keis. Babymetal(Original) are Legends :)
This is the video that made me a fan. I watched this video everyday for over a month after I first saw it. They are having such FUN!!! Watch Mikio at timecode 2:47; he is so overwhelmed by the crowd's response to the guitar soli, that he bursts out laughing. He always had such a great time performing with the band. F#$%, he'll be missed! Another spot that gets me is at the very end, after the girls have left the stage, you hear the crowd roar swell at 7:14. What you can't see is that this is when the Kami-band takes their bow. Let's not forget that 95% of that crowd had never heard of or seen BABYMETAL before. In 20 minutes, BABYMETAL won over a nation of metalheads.
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen , this song gets under your skin. It is so powerful and accompanied by a special depth. This energetic power is also heard similarly in Akatsuki. It gives energy for the future tasks and unites us
I liked you stayed mainly silent during this reaction. That's the way to give praise to this fabulous performance. I've seen two different reactors in the past on this song who completely forgot the camera and what they were doing! Reminds me of the effect of an exceptionally beautiful sunset.
@@laughingbuddha2948 Actually, there is a lot of stuff that I could correct in the comments on this video. YES! Going deeper into foxhole is fun :) Also, it's worth to remember that Su-Metal was still 16 when this was filmed. Pretty good voice, eh? Now, "Starlight" please. You'll love it. We appreciate your sacrifice, lord knows I couldn't hold off for 2 seconds once I found BABYMETAL. As having heard every BM song, watched every BM concert there is, it's watching people experience BM for the first time that provides one of the great pleasures of being a BM fan now (I mean besides maybe a new BM song, or having an opportunity to go to a live concert :-) ) FYI: The song is an anti-bullying song (the title means something like 'bullying, no, never". This was also their first time in front of a non Asian audience. They were suppose to play a small tent for their, at that time, small fan base, but they were asked to move to the main stage with little warning to do a three song set. Their took this chance which could have been too soon, since the audience was a 'real metal' audience and not known for suffering fake metal lightly. But as you can see they won over the crowd handily. It was a major milestone of their international career.
If you want to see how Babymetal has grown, you can check something from their newest songs. For example, "Distortion" is like very, very epic story, you can easy imagine it as a movie, while "Starlight" is simply beautiful and makes us think about how they said goodbye to Yui who recently left Babymetal. :)
It's awesome how the UK Crowd Treated them in there First Overseas show and Welcomed them with Open arms i am sure the Girls were Est acted on the crowds reaction to them
I was almost knocked out after hearing and seeing Megtsune and Karate at the end of 2016, but this song knocked me out, right after watching this video I searched and found a video translated into Portuguese, and the lyrics are really strong, so I've always been here panicking supporting BM fans
Putting aside their work as a professional group, they were only 14 years old and had very little knowledge of rock music. I want you to understand that I was suddenly thrown on the main stage of a big festival in the UK's rock powerhouse. There were no fans of them there. How intimidating and scary I was. It's scary just to think about it. However, the three of them did their best. They made it to the end.
Great reaction again Mana, they knew they needed to step up to the mark here and they put in one hell of a performance .Everyone was top notch and I have watched this over and over again and think Su puts everything she has and more into it.You think the song is coming to an end and Su puts it up a gear her voice gets more powerful and by the time it finished your jumping up and down and shouting "f**k that was awesome. I would of being jumping as high as the bloke in the Pikachu costume at Legend 1997 Makuhari Messe concert if I was there followed by an heart attack . As for me another vote for Megitsune but which concert? .
I know I have said this before but Moa suddenly running left like a bat out of hell at 4:58 always makes me laugh it is as if she suddenly thought "Oh I am suppose to be over there now".Did not notice it first time I watched it because I was still getting my jaw off the floor.

Exactly six months ago tonight I was in a Babymetal wall of death and circle pit in Utrecht, and it was as much fun as you would expect and then a bit more on top. While we wait for you to do more Babymetal reactions, I wonder if you know the Taiwanese metal band Chthonic. They blend a number of genres and incorporate traditional instruments into their music. I think you might like them. Here's their song Broken Jade: ruclips.net/video/heF_NPJbv8Y/видео.html
Take a look at Babymetal Death legend 1997...performance is metal as fawwwk! Or for something completely different try headbanger live night of 15 mix. Don't hear many people bring up this performance very often.
I know it gets boaring when i say this but i love that song :D . Its a song against bullying and Su- said in an interview that this is the song wich it most of what BM is all about. The lyrics you have seen for Sis. But he marks everything and realy does always a realy scintific translastion, so can can read also why he translating it this way and can discuss with him about it if you think you know it better.
It is the advantage of speaking Dutch (and also some other languages like Spanish I believe). The Japanese pronounce the sibyls (lettergrepen) the same way or very similar to Dutch.
Maybe people have already mentioned?(I’m new here), that Japanese females are really rocking hard these past few years. I recommend Gacharic Spin, tho it might not be metal enough for your tastes? First try Doll$Boxx, which is GS with powerhouse metal singer Fuki. How about Dragonet (last dragon banished to cry blood from the sky forever, in English she chants “dominate the ancient world war, his name is Dragonet”) ruclips.net/video/nH4TEyJwpm4/видео.html I also recommend Bridear (dear bride), especially the official live version of Scream with their new guitarist ruclips.net/video/Mwp8RKL9RyY/видео.html
I'm a Japanese fan of BABYMETAL. I love the style of reaction. The style of stopping the video and commenting on the way makes the song inconsistent. By all means, the same song or a new song can be used, so please upgrade to the latest reaction.

verry,verry good reaction
I love it
More babymetal!!!!!
By babymetal i mean Su Yui and Moa (I mean I like saya but u know
You pronounced that song title well for a first try. :)
i practiced 😂
@@metalmana4242 I can't wait until you react to Onedari Daisakusen now. Haha.
It is the advantage of speaking Dutch (and also some other languages like Spanish I believe). The Japanese pronounce the sibyls (lettergrepen) the same way or very similar to Dutch.

babymetal BMC that needs to done
Mana! Please react to band maid - non fiction days please :')
Maybe people have already mentioned?(I’m new here), that Japanese females are really rocking hard these past few years. I recommend Gacharic Spin, tho it might not be metal enough for your tastes? First try Doll$Boxx, which is GS with powerhouse metal singer Fuki. How about Dragonet (last dragon banished to cry blood from the sky forever, in English she chants “dominate the ancient world war, his name is Dragonet”) ruclips.net/video/nH4TEyJwpm4/видео.html
I also recommend Bridear (dear bride), especially the official live version of Scream with their new guitarist ruclips.net/video/Mwp8RKL9RyY/видео.html
What's the background song when MetalMana starts the video?
You its perfect mana :)
I like you :3
Hand sign is a kitsune (fox) not rock on.

What's your social media account
I'm a Japanese fan of BABYMETAL. I love the style of reaction. The style of stopping the video and commenting on the way makes the song inconsistent. By all means, the same song or a new song can be used, so please upgrade to the latest reaction.
This feels so much like K-Pop.
Bullfuckingshit! You obviously don't know shit about metal, K-pop, or J-Rock. Go home and play your Justin Bieber CDs.
Why don’t you ever do any Iron Maiden??? Are they too old for you or just too awesome for you to handle??? Just wondering
...or, maybe you could leave a comment about what she is reviewing, huh asshole?
