The song is against Bulliyng (after all, besides being mass idols, they are high school and elementary school students). Lyrics [Introduction] Rururu... Ah!!! @@KenjaTimu Suzuka is a music high school, Yui is a high school attended by many entertainers, and Moa may have been a correspondence high school. I could give specific names of high schools, but I will refrain from doing so here.
Good reaction again. Do they have lore you should know? Oh yes - and lots of it. The basics: they are 3 metal spirits chosen by the Fox God and sent to lead the Metal Resistance against the monopolising Idol system and to reunite the metal world through their music. The Kami Band (kami means god or spirit - so the gods of guitar, bass and drums) have been summoned from the dead to support them in all their live battles ... which also explains the traditional white burial robes and corpse face paint. This was their first tour outside of Asia - they played a couple of small venues in Paris and Cologne in the week or so before going to the UK to play Sonisphere (and another show in London a couple of days later which sold out so fast they moved that to a bigger venue). They were originally booked to play a small side stage or tent, but the video for 'Gimme Chocolate' went viral and BABYMETAL was being noticed. So with just a couple of months notice they were moved to the main stage. Some gatekeepers who thought BABYMETAL were a gimmick or joke band were not happy and made threats on social media that they would be armed with bottles to throw and would be booing them off stage. Su-metal was 16, Yuimetal and Moametal had celebrated their 15th birthdays at the Paris and Cologne shows (Moa's birthday was actually the day before Sonisphere). From back stage they could not see the crowd and worried what they should do if nobody had come to see them - they were very surprised to see 50-60,000 people waiting as they walked on stage. Only a few hundred of those people were fans and had any idea who they were (they had managed to get to the front - anybody throwing anything at the stage would need a good arm ... fortunately that didn't happen), the rest were very puzzled to see 3 tiny Japanese girls in red tutus. Su-metal has said that they saw a sea of puzzled looking faces and thought to herself "This will be fun. Let's knock it out of the park!" She also said how, as they played their set those few hundred at the front who were jumping up and down and singing along were joined bit by bit by the rest of the crowd and that it looked like a wave moving out from the stage towards the back of the crowd. They played 5 songs - about 25 minutes - and when they walked off stage, as i think you could hear, the crowd were shouting for "One more song" and "We want more". This was the moment the girls felt they were accepted by the metal world and they realised their music could break through language and other barriers. They had the biggest mosh pits of the weekend - their merch also outsold all the other bands playing that weekend (including big names like Anthrax, Metallica, Iron maiden and more). The lyrics for 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' actually are deep and meaningful. I won't go into the full translation now, but it means 'Bullying' No More, For Ever (or Absolutely)'. Lots more for you to see and hear yet ... and if you really want a song with a DragonForce influence 'Road of Resistance' live in Japan should be next - Herman Li and Sam Totman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements and played on the studio recording for the album version. That was the only one they were involved in.
YES!! Another fan! Oh boy, are you in for a ride. Over 60 songs in their discography. The first album, which you are currently reacting to, was very tongue in cheek, with subject matter from a school age girls view. From worrying about gaining weight in Gimme Chocolate to anti-bullying, learning to count and not believe in bad luck to a girls first heavy metal concert. The second album is a step into more mature subject matter. Fighting inner demons, never giving up, and cute rebellious songs. Third album is when they really start to experiment. Mixing international sounds like Latin and Indian, Pirate shanties, trap rap, and electronica. Then they go on a 3 year hiatus during the pandemic and return with their latest fourth album and a step forward in style that is mind blowing to say the least. A progressive metal concept album that sounds nothing like their first couple of albums. Like I said... You're in for a wild ride.
_Kitsune tobe!_ 🦊🤘🙅♂️ I already saw Grington300 around probably explaining everything about this song and special version which was a turning point in their careers. They recently finished the Australian leg of this World Tour 2023 and everyone were having a blast enjoying this song with the usual mosh'sh pit and ending the show. They also announced a couple of more exclusive shows for fans members, part of the old series of concerts called "Apocrypha". Next suggestion: - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!! live at Legend 1997, held in 2013, Gans Tomas got this clip safe to react under Head Bangya title. If you wanna know everything about them including the lore which is long then i suggest you to check it out "A BabyMetal Guide" by CrypticMisery, but first watch Babymetal Death live at Legend 1997 so you don't have to ruin the surprise factor. Thanks for sharing this and see you next time. 🦊🤘🔥
What is exciting about these children is that they were brave enough to face an audience of headbangers, being girls and foreigners - singing in the Japanese language - and dancing to heavy metal. And the band proves their excellence. That was the acid test. And they won. A beautiful lesson from these girls. At this age, 12 years old, I was just watching cartoons on TV. They were traveling to heavy and thrash metal festivals in North America, Europe, and Asia. Imagine how much they rehearse to learn each song and perform the choreography? I feel obliged to thank these young girls. They brought a lot of joy to people during the pandemic lockdown. Beautiful messages. Always smiling. And with a devastating heavy metal in their songs! 🦊🦊🦊
Do they have a "Back Story"? Oh boy are you going to get the comments!! LoL!! Lets just say these Ladies grew up performing, came together to form this group and then just Took Over the World!!! And I think it was Moa who talked about the headaches they use to get while headbanging when they first started!! LoL!! More Babymetal Reaction!! Put your Kitsune UP!! Po!
I'll never get over the fact that they walked out in front of 60K people, some of whom threatened to throw bottles of urine at them because they thought they were a purely gimmick band, as virtual unknown's and they walked off about 20 minutes or so later to the entire crowd chanting "we want more!" Do you know how good you have to be to flip an entire crowd to your side in one performance?! It's incredible! The fact that they aren't the biggest group in the world at this point is a shame, although they are steadily growing partly due to the number of youtube reacters finding them over the pandemic and since then.
👍 👍 You have questions? Once more posting this below. BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons). Both Moa and Yui were 11 years old when the group began. All three were friends and classmates who attended an idol school/group (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life (they attended regular school as well) the girls would learn and train at vocals, dancing, public speaking and etiquette, etc., graduate at age 15 and then move onto whatever entertainment path they chose or that suited their talents. Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result. At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues). Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia). If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine. They have over 50 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more. Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.) Suggest reacting to these for a start. Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles. Good luck and hope to see you again.
Does this band have any lore? Definitely, it is the band with the most lore I know, there is a video guide that explains everything very well but it makes you spoiler for some songs so it is advisable to listen to those songs first. This was one of them, the others are "Babymetal death" and "BxMxC" I really liked your reactions to BM, always try to react to live versions as they are much better
"Does BabyMetal have lore?" 🤣😭 Oh, honey... I'm sure Road of Resistance is going to be recommended a lot because of the DragonForce reference. See you in the next one. :p 🤘🦊🤘
Thanks from Japan, the homeland of BABYMETAL 有難う💛。BABYMETAL performed in your city, Tempe AZ, on Oct.1, 2019 (at The Marquee) and will perform on Oct.10 this year in your state again (at Financial Theater, Phoenix). The phrase "Dame Zettai (= No absolutely)" is originated from police campaign against illegal drugs which had started in 1960s. So this song implies that "Ijime (= bullying)" is considered as harmful and addictive as illegal drugs. We have to continue our efforts at home and in school (and in any society or organization or group in the world) to eliminate it. In 2020, BABYMETAL revived IDZ and have continued to perform this song in all of their shows in Japan, Asia and Australia. It was probably their message to the current world.
Thanks for reacting to this great performance, the story behind them at this festival is fascinating as well if it isn't mentioned in comments and you are interested let me know. I especially enjoyed how you consider and ask such intelligent questions about the band, I won't reiterate all the answers others gave, rather will just post a few suggestions to consider when you choose more songs. I think this set covers some of their best and most iconic early work, then as you continue to see how they grow and evolve its even more enjoyable. BabyMetal - Headbanger Live Legend 1997 (Legend 1997 refers to lead singer Su-Metal birthyear, this concert is her 16th birthday, its great) Babymetal - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (Su-Metal owns an audience, amazing music. *dragonforce co-wrote*) Babymetal - Akatsuki「紅月 -アカツキ-」| LIVE at Budokan Black Night (Su-Metal solo) Babymetal - MEGITSUNE「メギツネ」(Five Fox Festival ver.) (this particular version has "red fox festival live" audio you want to make sure if that matters to you, it was a one night concert for women/girls only, the song has a strong theme of women empowerment, its brilliant to listen to the audience interaction parts with an all female audience) BabyMetal - Death Legend 1997 Apocalypse Live (One of the greatest heavy metal theater shows ever) there are dozens of others, and versions of each, that are wonderful as well. I hope you continue, look forward to seeing more. Thanks again!
Yea, the Korean government recognized that they were importing all their content, especially from Japan and recognized they didn't need to they could and should be capable of producing music, tv and film themselves. So the government but forward a plan to subsidize the entertainment industry that allows them to compete financially.
Nice reaction, but you committed a major crime against humanity. Never but never pause during a guitar solo and you did it twice. Babymetal is incredible and you will enjoy your journey down the foxhole.
BABYMETAL 101 Babymetal is a Japanese group founded in 2010 and produced by Kei “Koba” Kobayashi from the Amuse Inc. talent agency. Babymetal name comes from the birth of a new style of metal fusing j-pop with metal creating what they call Kawaii Metal (Cute-Metal). The group currently consists of Suzuka Nakamoto aka “Su-Metal” (25 years old) sometimes referred to as Vocal and Dance. Moa Kikuchi aka "Moametal", pronounced as Moa-Metal (23 years old) as part of Scream and Dance. Momoko Okazaki aka Momometal (20 years old) as part of Scream and Dance . They are supported by a rotating selection of talented male backing musicians known as the Kami Band (Kami is usually poorly translated as gods, but in truth it more closely means awe inspiring spirit, entity, or object) It is why they are dressed in white to look like ghosts or spirits, though Kami being used as God(s) is so common in translation the white outfits get lost. Past Formations. Heavy Music Club Era (2010-2012) From 2010 to 2012 Babymetal consist of a three-member formation, Suzuka Nakamoto (Age 12), Moa Kikuchi (Age 10), and Yui Mizuno aka "Yuimetal" pronounced Yui-Metal. (Age 10). First starting out as the Heavy Music Club as a subunit within the Developmental Idol Group created by Amuse in 2010 known as Sakura Gakuin. Sakura Gakuin is a group that introduces girls between the ages of 10-15 to music, dance, modeling, and acting through Japanese Pop idol music and culture. Given a school theme, all three would be a part of Sakura Gakuin until their graduation from it in the same school year they would graduate from Japanese middle school or 15 years old. Suzuka graduated in March 2013, and Moa and Yui in March of 2015. Sakura Gakuin is a fantastic group with great kawaii jpop songs in their own right. During this time there was no lore, and the girl’s costumes were more punkish in nature which they helped create. They also didn’t perform with live music, using a backing track or the “Skeleton band” people pretending to play music behind them. Music Video of this Era Doki Doki Morning (Debut Song) Iine (Pronounced EE-N A spelled i i n e) Headbangya Babymetal/ Metal Resistance Era (2012-2017) Starting in 2012 with the Legend I concert, Babymetal began its slow divorce from Sakura Gakuin, and was the first introduction of the Kami Band as well as the “Lore” that is still heavily involved in Babymetal but makes far less sense than it did during this time. The Lore is complex and involves a battle against other evil idol corporations, gaining powers, some time travel, running a resistance group, all at the direction of a mythical deity known as the fox god, against an all power enemy known as Akiba. The first Legend show I was the Kami Bands introduction to the end, but it also had the Skeleton Band which is seen in the wildly popular Gimmie Chocolate Music Video. This was followed by Legend D, and then Legend Z, in which it was learned that Babymetal would continue as its own entity after Suzuka’s graduation from Sakura Gakuin in March of 2013. Slowly over 2013 the Skeleton Band would be phased out of all live shows, as Babymetal came into their own. Babymetal as it is most commonly known as with Su-Metal, Moametal, Yuimetal, the Kami Band, and a somewhat understandable lore is what consisted for the majority of it’s existence. Also established beyond the 3 member formation, they had 2 other set ups, one was what fans called Su-Solos, and it would just be Su on stage with the Kami band, performing a solo, and the other is known as Black Babymetal by the band themselves, which consisted of just Moa and Yui. Music Videos of this Era Gimmie Chocolate Megitsune Rondo of Nightmare - With mischief of the Gods Intro (Su Solo and a great expedition of the Kami Band) Road of Resistance Live in Japan (Co-written by Dragonforce) Iijime, Dame, Zettai Live at Sonisphere (Name means No More Bullying Forever) Karate The Dark Times, The Chosen 7 Era (2018) In December 2017, Yui would miss the Legend-S concert for health reasons, these health problems would prosiest into 2018 and greatly affect the 2018 touring season bring the “Chosen 7” formation, consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto, Moa Kikuchi, and 2 backing dancers Minako Maruyama, and Minami Tsukui. Changes they would not tell fans and all throughout 2018 communicate extraordinarily little causing lots of pain for all involved fan and performer. This era is noted by their strange armor like costumes, sometimes referred to as Elf Armor. To make the poor communication, and Yui’s absence wasn’t bad enough, one of the more regular Kami band members, Mikio Fujioka passed away after falling off a balcony in late December 2017 while star gazing. A beloved and incredibly talented musician lost leaving behind his wife and only child. In September 2018 Yui would formally resign from Babymetal, stating her unspecified health and wishing to move on. Babymetal themselves announced that the group will move on focusing on Suzuka and Moa. (Something many idiots within the fandom refuse or are too stupid to understand) In October Babymetal had a concert called Dark Night Carnival which added dancers, Shoko Akiyama, Saya Hirai, and Kotono, placing a total of seven girls on stage. This was also done without warning to fans and was an absolute mess. Babymetal would finish off the 2018 tour season returning to the 3-member formation with just Saya Hirai joining them in southeast Asia and Australia. Ending one of the most troubling times in Babymetal’s history. Music Videos of this Era (These MVs do not feature the members in them at all) Distortion Starlight (Don’t let overzealous fans fool you, this is OFFICIALLY not a tribute to anyone. A lot of fan speculation, end of story if they claim it is they are 100% lying to you.) Metal Galaxy Era (2019- Feb 2020) First introduced in 2019 during the Babymetal Arises concert in Yokohama, before the start, the “Avenger” support dancer concept was explained in the lore, and the concept thanks to communication and a maintaining of the 3-member formation brought Babymetal out of dark times brought about during 2018. Babymetal seemed to have returned to its roots with the Avengers, as 2 of the three (Kano and Momoko) come from Sakura Gakuin. The third Riho, went to the same performing arts school as Suzuka during the same time, Actors School Hiroshima aka ASH. Music Videos of this Era Pa Pa Ya Elevator Girl Shanti Shanti Da Da Dance (Avenger confusion) Which Avenger one sees can be confusing for those new to Babymetal. For the Music Videos, Pa Pa Ya, Elevator Girl, and Shanti Shanti Shanti, it is Kano Fujihira, who was just 14 years old at the time. Da Da Dance is a compilation of Momoko and Riho and a splicing of 2 different shows. In most fan cam videos of the American and European tour it would be either Riho or Momoko, as they toured with Babymetal in 2019. Kano had responsibilities with Sakura Gakuin as its president, a position Suzuka and Moa both held in Sakura Gakuin, and she’s never flown on a plane before. Some fans for 2019 did throw a stupid temper tantrum over the use of new Kami Band members who are from the west now known as the West Coast Kami Band, but like how the girls won over many, so did they and the payoff with the Legend Metal Galaxy concert in 2020 was well worth it.
COVID Era (Mar 2020 to April 2021) COIVD-19 has messed up a lot of things for everyone, Babymetal had to cancel their Asian tour, as well their big 10th Anniversary on October 10, 2020. Forced to keep it rather tame something very unlike Babymetal as even in their failures like the entire 2018 tour they do it septically. The question for many fans is what of the Avengers, since COVID, Avenger Riho Sayashi has signed with a new agency and has move on to other projects, including starting a fan club, which appears to rule her out of ever being an Avenger again. Kano Fujihara graduated from Sakura Gakuin on August 30, 2020, a near 4-month delay. However, she and fellow Sakura Gakuin graduates Soyoka Yoshida, Tsugumi Aritomo, and Momoe Mori in the formation of @onefive. Which leaves Momoko Okazaki as the last standing Avenger with no new commitments. However, Kano was technically in Sakura Gakuin, @onefive, and Babymetal all at the same time for almost a year so it is possible she will still be an Avenger. All shows since COVID pandemic they have done in 2020 and in 2021 have had Momoko as the Avenger. Music Videos of this Era BxMxC (First music video that isn’t footage from a show and featuring Su and Moa since Karate in 2015) Post 10-year Anniversary/ Covid Era Part 2 (May 2021-September 2022) The band is stepping back from live shows due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and focusing on the sale of Merch. Don't let stupid fans fool you the band is not on hiatus or ending. They are idiots and deserves to be made fun of as they’ve been working on new material. Momoko had a very very short stint in a Korean Idol Competition Show called Planet 99. She performed perfectly, better than most of the other girls in the show. She even got the most votes in a small side competition destroying all other 98 girls in the show in votes. This won her some hair dye (She was blonde for a bit). Ultimately be it dumb BM fans thinking the side competition was the actual competition, how the judging was heavily skewed to Korean voters, the fact that her fate was tied to 2 other girls one Korean and one Chinese, and or possibly ridged voting something the company producing the show has done in the past, Momoko was eliminated in the very first round. The Other One (October 2022-Current) They have released 5 songs on RUclips, they performed a show in January 2023 where they performed these new songs leading up to the released of their Album in March with 10 new songs. During January and February shows Su and Moa were supported by Momoko. On April First (Fox Day) Their new show played many new and old songs as well as officially made Momoko Okazaki aka Momometal the official 3rd member. Bringing Babymetal back to a 3-member unit once again. This all kicks off their world tour in touring with Sabaton in Europe then Asia and Australia, and tours in US in the fall and a solo tour in Europe in winter, with a tour finally in Japan in 2024. good reaction. Let's make a little bit of history. Babymetal girls started when the singer was 12 years old and the backing singers were 10 years old. They belonged to a J-pop idol group known as Sakura Gakuin. This group, composed of 15 girls between 10 and 15 years old, recreated the Japanese elementary school. And following the school tradition, they were divided into groups known as clubs. One of the producers is a big fan of metal music and asked the parent company, Amuse, for permission to conduct an experiment: to merge the idol world with heavy metal. Nobody believed much in the experiment, even himself, but SuMetal's voice was energetic enough for metal, so they gave permission. The first songs of Babymetal as a subunit of Sakura were quite childish, however the quality was so good, that they ended up attracting the attention of the metal world and soon their concerts were attended by both girls (the target audience of Sakura Gakuin )and metalheads and so, little by little, they began to carve a niche for themselves in the Japanese metal world. They started to play at festivals in Asia and the experiment worked very well. They created their own style and genre which they called Kawaii Metal (Cute Metal). However, they still had a mountain to climb: the orthodox western metal world. Nobody was sure what could happen since western metalheads were, above all, purists. But who said fear? If we are going to do it, let's do it big: success or death hahahahahahaha. They had no other idea than to make the presentation of Babymetal in the west than the Sonisphere in England, a festival with the reputation of sending away the bands they don't like in a very bad way (bottles of urine in between). At the beginning, for the sake of caution, they decided to relegate them to a secondary stage, with a capacity of about 5,000 spectators. But Gimme Chocolate took youtube by storm and with that success the producers of the festival decided to take them to the main stage (about 50,000 metalheads of which only 5% were supposed to have ever heard of them and their proposal). The girls (the singer would be between 16-17 years old and the backing singers 15 in this video) commented that they had never been so terrified for two reasons: first, that the stage was deserted and second, that it was not and did not like their music to one of the most hostile audiences known. But well, they liked it... it was well liked. This concert is the starting point in the West and they have reached the top, much more than any other Japanese metal band in history. Currently they have 4 albums and are the most influential heavy metal band in Japan (influential, I don't mean the best, that's up to each one's taste). If you have decided to go through this fox hole I recommend "Road of resistance live in japan" to see the huge crowd control of these girls, "Death legend 1997" to see that they are "lovable" until they decide to stop being so and "rondo of Nightmare" with the introduction of the band to see how talented the Kami Band are. Not K-pop; BABYMETAL is not from Korea, they're from Japan. Perhaps J-pop, but this kawaii metal and, yes, it is a new genre. I threw in my suggestions in your last BABYMETAL reaction. KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘
*These three brave girls kicked ass that day for a crowd of 50-60 thousand and 98% of them didn’t know who they were.* *The corny references gota go. Less talk more listen.*
Babymetal fans made this possible, originally they werent even on the list of bands. The venue only added them by getting so much fan mail demanding them.
Great reaction, Babymetal does have a lot of lore, but the over arching thing is that the Fox God Summoned Babymetal and gives them power to perform all around the world. Their big shows in Japan will sometimes tell a single story or add snippets related to the era/Album. The last album was MetalGalaxy it had its own snippets' of lore to go with the theme of the album. Currently, Babymetal are entering the Metalverse they have released the album The Other One which has 10 track which are meant to represent 10 different worlds/dimensions. There have been some fun performances already related to this new story and a website metalverse-world has been set up, but we will have to wait and see what this means. This is my favourite show lore and intro "BM - Intro to Legend S:Baptism XX" it's on daily motion 🤘🦊🤘
Funny to hear you ask: "DO you think they have a lore that i need to be knowing about" and in my mind i´m thinking "How deep do you wanne dive in the Foxhole?" Anyway, good reaction and ofc you can get many many lore about them (thx tho the awesome Fans ❤🦊❤ ), but you can enjoy it without too.
((( [FlyingGet] BABYMETAL - Ijime, Dame, Zettai (english + portuguese subs) ))) if you want to see the original video and have subs. It really is worth it to understand the songs. Even when very young those girls were not singing childish jams. . They were hidden behind their demeaner and size. A lot of the topics were very very adult and cute ..
They make 4 albums in a little over 10 years and .. a but load of live performance sets with amazing visuals. On tour they could travel in a bus. I saw BUCKETHEAD, Arrives in a van, has one Roady. No one is allowed to look him in the eye or speak to him, only through his Roady. They kinda put together a private place at the concert haul. He does 2 and a half hours of amazing and he leaves. No talking or singing .. BUCKETHEADs discography currently includes 435 studio albums.. Looking forward to seeing BABYMETAL again and also check out the rest of the family, PERFUME and One OK Rock are the older aunts and brothers/uncles. BAND-MAID are some of the best live musicians ...
The song have some DF vibe but was written by : Kei Kobayashi (pka Kobametal) / Norikazu Nakayama (pka Naka Metal) / Tatsuya Tsubono (pka Tsubometal) / Takeru Youda (pka Takemetal). This is one OM my favorite BM song. ❤❤❤ And this i J-Pop/Kwaii metal. IDZ ❤
So to start things off, I'm pretty sure Babymetal has more lore than GWAR. Very short storyline is the metal fox god chose these 3 girls to reunite the metalverse. The girls were originally going to be JPOP singers/dancers but then became what you see before you now. The 3 of them were all going to the same performance school that teaches young girls how to become singers. One of the teachers heard the main singer (her stage name is Su-Metal) singing and thought her voice was too powerful to be wasted on just JPop. He had an idea in his head where he wanted to try and combine JPop with cuteness (In Japan that is referred to as Kawaii), and Metal and see what happened. So he took Su, found 2 other girls who looked like they were sisters almost, and who were also cute, and brought them into this new group he was forming. Then he found a session band to do the actual metal and Babymetal was formed. That's the very simplistic and short story. He then, just for fun, created the fox god story and they've been adding to it ever since. Now you mentioned, funny enough, how this song sounds a lot like a dragonforce meets anime, etc. It's funny you mention dragonforce because the guitarists of dragonforce DID actually join up with Babymetal and helped them create the song, Road of Resistance. So if you want the next song you should react to, since you mentioned dragonforce, I'd highly recommend THAT song. I'd look up Road of Resistance live in Japan Official. That's probably the best one to react to. Aside from that, if you want to begin down the road of the lore, then I'd recommend reacting to the trilogy of death, in which the first song of the trilogy is, "Headbanger!" The second song is, "Akatsuki Unfinished" (There's also the other version of Akatuki which is just Akatsuki which I'd also recommend at some point), and finally the last song in the trilogy is, "Babymetal Death!". I'd highly recommend watching those in that order, and I'd recommend watching the live versions. Ideally you normally want to always watch the live versions of their performances since, as you can see, they excel at live performances. There are a few songs that are also worth watching the music videos for. Those would be Megitsune and Karate. I feel like I'm missing one more, but I can't think of it at the moment lol Anyhow, I'm sure you're going to like your trip down what we call the foxhole, so welcome and have fun!
It’s different, and is very animi, but I will never be that interested. The musicians are very good, super tight, and I can appreciate all that, but it isn’t to my taste. But it looks like there are a ton of people who love it, and I’m glad for the girls and the band! 😊
It's always funny how many people choose Gimmie Chocolate to react to first since it's probably one of the worst Babymetal to actually get a picture of what the band is actually like. It would be like choosing BMC and thinking they are a Rap Metal band.
Yeah. It's pretty good, isn't it? 😅 I've estimated that I've _at_ _least_ 6k hours listening to these young ladies. On the basis of the first three albums alone. And now there's another one. A word to the wise; to understand Babymetal you need to apreciate one thing: There is _no_ _such_ _thing_ as " _a_ Babymetal song." Even my other far-ranging wide-vision musical visionary tallents like Floyd or Hendrix or Mozart or Mike Oldfield or the phone frog thing just don't come close to the diversity of Babymetal. It looks like you are only at the start of your adventures into the law and music of Babymetal. Be careful how you tread; the Foxhole is deep. Great reaction, btw.
Well now that you're on the Babymetal bandwagon ( You are so hooked😂), this is going to also open up a floodgate of other Japanese metal and rock. So let me be the first to invite you to react to these other Japanese bands that Babymetal has led us to. Band-Maid Hanabie Lovebites Nemophila Maximum The Hormone

Lyrics
[Introduction]
Rururu...
Ah!!!
[Verse 1: SU-METAL]
Dreaming, I couldn't have even it
Between the light and the darkness, I stayed alone
[Verse 2: SU-METAL]
Those who got hurt were not only I myself
But also those who kept on watching me. It was you
[Pre-Chorus:SU-METAL/YUI&MOA-METAL (Back-up vocals]
Confidence, [Have it!]
I couldn't have. [Don't be beaten!]
I kept on hiding [I dislike to be found!]
Until yesterday. [Yesterday is gone!]
But good-bye to yesterdays' myself. [Bye-bye!]
[Chorus: SU-METAL/YUI&MOA-METAL]
Bullying. [No!] Bullying. [No!]
It's disgraceful. [No! No! No! No!]
Sometimes you get hurt, sometimes you hurt someone
And we all get badly hurt
Fox, [Fly!] Fox, [Fly!]
I'm sure you can fly. [Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly!]
Let your pain and sadness all go outside!
It's OK because I'll protect you
[Instrumental START]
[Speaking: YUIMETAL]
I didn't show my tears, and in the night I was about to cry
In a room deep inside my heart, I stayed alone
[Speaking: MOA-METAL]
Those who hurt me were not only someone else
But also those who pretended not to notice. It was my friend
[Instrumental END]
[Pre-Chorus: SU-METAL/YUI&MOA-METAL]
Nothing [Nothing!]
Could I say. [Say nothing!?]
I was about to give up [No easy throwing out!]
Until yesterday. [Yesterday is gone!]
But good-bye to yesterdays' myself. [Bye-bye!]
[Chorus: SU-METAL/YUI&MOA-METAL]
Bullying. [No!] Bullying. [No!]
It's disgraceful. [No! No! No! No!]
Sometimes you get hurt, sometimes you hurt someone
And we all get badly hurt
Fox, [Fly!] Fox, [Fly!]
I'm sure you can fly. [Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly!]
Let your pain and sadness all go outside!
It's OK because I'll protect you
[Verse 3: SU-METAL]
Pain...
Aching...
All the while...
Alone...
Your heart...
Pretending not to notice...
Anymore...
I'll never get away
Bullying, No, Absolutely
Full of dearest-ness, it's pressuring but also encouraging
Anymore, anymore your...
I don't want to see anymore your tearful face
[Chorus]
Bullying. [No!] Bullying. [No!]
It's disgraceful. [No! No! No! No!]
Sometimes you get hurt, sometimes you hurt someone
And we all get badly hurt
Fox, [Fly!] Fox, [Fly!]
I'm sure you can fly
Let your pain and sadness all go outside!
It's OK because I'll protect you
Bullying, No, absolutely. [No! No! No! No!]
Bullying, No, forever
Bullying, No, absolutely. [No! No! No! No!]
Bullying, No, never

Knowing the backstory of this performance, this video always brings tears to my eyes.
_Kitsune tobe!_ 🦊🤘🙅♂️
I already saw Grington300 around probably explaining everything about this song and special version which was a turning point in their careers. They recently finished the Australian leg of this World Tour 2023 and everyone were having a blast enjoying this song with the usual mosh'sh pit and ending the show. They also announced a couple of more exclusive shows for fans members, part of the old series of concerts called "Apocrypha".
Next suggestion:
- Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!! live at Legend 1997, held in 2013, Gans Tomas got this clip safe to react under Head Bangya title.

Nice reaction man.

Still getting started, just keep going 😋 🤘🦊🤘
Looking forward to the Headbanger reaction.
I'll never get over the fact that they walked out in front of 60K people, some of whom threatened to throw bottles of urine at them because they thought they were a purely gimmick band, as virtual unknown's and they walked off about 20 minutes or so later to the entire crowd chanting "we want more!"
Do you know how good you have to be to flip an entire crowd to your side in one performance?! It's incredible! The fact that they aren't the biggest group in the world at this point is a shame, although they are steadily growing partly due to the number of youtube reacters finding them over the pandemic and since then.

You have questions?
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these for a start.

At their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019) has officially become the third member.
This was one of them, the others are "Babymetal death" and "BxMxC"

This day is now knows as "the Sonisphere miracle". It get me so emotionnal everytime, i feel proud for them
You're feeling how I felt last year when I first heard this epic band
Thanks for reacting to this great performance, the story behind them at this festival is fascinating as well if it isn't mentioned in comments and you are interested let me know. I especially enjoyed how you consider and ask such intelligent questions about the band, I won't reiterate all the answers others gave, rather will just post a few suggestions to consider when you choose more songs. I think this set covers some of their best and most iconic early work, then as you continue to see how they grow and evolve its even more enjoyable.

BABYMETAL 101
Babymetal is a Japanese group founded in 2010 and produced by Kei “Koba” Kobayashi from the Amuse Inc. talent agency.
Heavy Music Club Era (2010-2012)
From 2010 to 2012 Babymetal consist of a three-member formation, Suzuka Nakamoto (Age 12), Moa Kikuchi (Age 10), and Yui Mizuno aka "Yuimetal" pronounced Yui-Metal.

Babymetal/ Metal Resistance Era (2012-2017)
Starting in 2012 with the Legend I concert, Babymetal began its slow divorce from Sakura Gakuin, and was the first introduction of the Kami Band as well as the “Lore” that is still heavily involved in Babymetal but makes far less sense than it did during this time.

The Dark Times, The Chosen 7 Era (2018)
In December 2017, Yui would miss the Legend-S concert for health reasons, these health problems would prosiest into 2018 and greatly affect the 2018 touring season bring the “Chosen 7” formation, consisting of Suzuka Nakamoto, Moa Kikuchi, and 2 backing dancers Minako Maruyama, and Minami Tsukui.
(Something many idiots within the fandom refuse or are too stupid to understand)
In October Babymetal had a concert called Dark Night Carnival which added dancers, Shoko Akiyama, Saya Hirai, and Kotono, placing a total of seven girls on stage. This was also done without warning to fans and was an absolute mess. Babymetal would finish off the 2018 tour season returning to the 3-member formation with just Saya Hirai joining them in southeast Asia and Australia. Ending one of the most troubling times in Babymetal’s history.

Metal Galaxy Era (2019- Feb 2020)
First introduced in 2019 during the Babymetal Arises concert in Yokohama, before the start, the “Avenger” support dancer concept was explained in the lore, and the concept thanks to communication and a maintaining of the 3-member formation brought Babymetal out of dark times brought about during 2018. Babymetal seemed to have returned to its roots with the Avengers, as 2 of the three (Kano and Momoko) come from Sakura Gakuin. The third Riho, went to the same performing arts school as Suzuka during the same time, Actors School Hiroshima aka ASH.

(Avenger confusion)
Which Avenger one sees can be confusing for those new to Babymetal.
COVID Era (Mar 2020 to April 2021)
COIVD-19 has messed up a lot of things for everyone, Babymetal had to cancel their Asian tour, as well their big 10th Anniversary on October 10, 2020.

Post 10-year Anniversary/ Covid Era Part 2 (May 2021-September 2022)
The band is stepping back from live shows due to the Covid-19 Pandemic and focusing on the sale of Merch.
The Other One (October 2022-Current)
They have released 5 songs on RUclips, they performed a show in January 2023 where they performed these new songs leading up to the released of their Album in March with 10 new songs.

Lyrics Overview:-
IJIME, DAME, ZETTAI (Bullying, No, Absolutely)
[Rururu...]
[Ah.]
Dreaming, I couldn't have even it.
Between the light and the darkness, I stayed alone.
Those who got hurt were not only I myself,
but also those who kept on watching me. It was you.
Confidence, [Have it!]
I couldn't have. [Don't be beaten!]
I kept on hiding [I dislike to be found!]
until yesterday. [Yesterday is gone!]
But good-bye to yesterdays' myself. [Bye-bye!]
Bullying. [No!] Bullying. [No!]
It's disgraceful. [No! No! No! No!]
Sometimes you get hurt, sometimes you hurt someone,
and we all get badly hurt.
Fox, [Fly!] Fox, [Fly!]
I'm sure you can fly. [Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly!]
Let your pain and sadness all go outside!
It's OK because I'll protect you.
I didn't show my tears, and in the night I was about to cry,
in a room deep inside my heart, I stayed alone.
Those who hurt me were not only someone else,
but also those who pretended not to notice. It was my friend.
Nothing [Nothing!]
could I say. [Say nothing!?]
I was about to give up [No easy throwing out!]
until yesterday. [Yesterday is gone!]
But good-bye to yesterdays' myself. [Bye-bye!]
Pain...
Aching...
All the while...
Alone...
Your heart...
Pretending not to notice...
Anymore...
I'll never get away.
Bullying, No, Absolutely.
Full of dearest-ness, it's pressuring but also encouraging.
Anymore, anymore your...
I don't want to see anymore your tearful face.
Bullying. [No!] Bullying. [No!]
It's disgraceful. [No! No! No! No!]
Sometimes you get hurt, sometimes you hurt someone,
and we all get badly hurt.
Fox, [Fly!] Fox, [Fly!]
I'm sure you can fly.
Let your pain and sadness all go outside!
It's OK because I'll protect you.
Bullying, No. [No! No! No! No!]
Bullying, No, forever.
Bullying, No. [No! No! No! No!]
Bullying, No, never.

Believe it or not these girls have been doing this for 13 years.
good reaction.
Best regards

Not K-pop; BABYMETAL is not from Korea, they're from Japan. Perhaps J-pop, but this kawaii metal and, yes, it is a new genre. I threw in my suggestions in your last BABYMETAL reaction.
KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘
Road of Resistance,, Headbanger live (Legend tour,) and Shanti Shanti, all live masterpieces. watch them all loud, without delay please.
The day Babymetal conquered the West!!
Hearing your description of Babymetal in this video, I think you might want to check out another BM with BAND-MAID / Sense (Official Live Video)
Speaking of Japan, anime. Speaking of anime, Japan.
And the three girls' performance is at the level of anime(=flawless).😍😍
This is my favourite show lore and intro "BM - Intro to Legend S:Baptism XX" it's on daily motion
🤘🦊🤘
Babymetal lore? There's lots of it. Contradicts itself regularly.
Every good religion contradicts itself.
Funny to hear you ask: "DO you think they have a lore that i need to be knowing about" and in my mind i´m thinking "How deep do you wanne dive in the Foxhole?"
Anyway, good reaction and ofc you can get many many lore about them (thx tho the awesome Fans ❤🦊❤ ), but you can enjoy it without too.
This is not actually a DragonForcy song, the original ep of this song contained the special version featuring Christopher Amott of ex-Arch Enemy.
Headbanger Next
May the Fox God live forever ❤
Babymetal are best idols, best modern metal group, best girls... dont @ me
The song have some DF vibe but was written by : Kei Kobayashi (pka Kobametal) / Norikazu Nakayama (pka Naka Metal) / Tatsuya Tsubono (pka Tsubometal) / Takeru Youda (pka Takemetal). This is one OM my favorite BM song. ❤❤❤ And this i J-Pop/Kwaii metal. IDZ ❤
If you dig the band, watch Rondo of Nightmare w/ Mischief of Metal Gods intro. And prepare to be amazed
BABY METAL🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥
no bullying, absolutely
I feel like I'm missing one more, but I can't think of it at the moment lol
Anyhow, I'm sure you're going to like your trip down what we call the foxhole, so welcome and have fun!
Don't insult me with K-POP, it's J-POP.
Forgive my ignorance, before reacting to BABYMETAL, I'd never listened to either of J or K-Pop
@Walterooski Got it!
Walterooski was there headbanging at 6:36
It’s different, and is very animi, but I will never be that interested. The musicians are very good, super tight, and I can appreciate all that, but it isn’t to my taste. But it looks like there are a ton of people who love it, and I’m glad for the girls and the band! 😊
It's not for everyone. Have a good day.
Catch me if you can, with the kami band intro!
I just want to know how they keep their stockings up. Are they two color tights?
sock glue is a thing :)
@@NatsukiMorigi Is it? I am unaware.
🤘🦊🤘
😁😁😁🤘🤘🤘
It's always funny how many people choose Gimmie Chocolate to react to first since it's probably one of the worst Babymetal to actually get a picture of what the band is actually like.
It would be like choosing BMC and thinking they are a Rap Metal band.
Do they have their own lore?
LOL, yes, and how...
Kitsune dao!
RIP! Mikio Fujioka
Yeah. It's pretty good, isn't it?
😅
I've estimated that I've _at_ _least_ 6k hours listening to these young ladies. On the basis of the first three albums alone. And now there's another one.
A word to the wise; to understand Babymetal you need to apreciate one thing: There is _no_ _such_ _thing_ as " _a_ Babymetal song."
Even my other far-ranging wide-vision musical visionary tallents like Floyd or Hendrix or Mozart or Mike Oldfield or the phone frog thing just don't come close to the diversity of Babymetal.
Band-Maid
Hanabie
Lovebites
Nemophila
Maximum The Hormone
Babymetal was created by the foxgod also he sent the kami band to help the girls rule the metal galaxy
Dragonforce vibes I think that makes the next logical step in your Babymetal journey Road of Resistance
You need to see the Karate video.
Both. MV n live
As a japanese person, I must say that it hurts when you say "Dragon Force met K-POP". Don't do this again please.
Just what we needed...another ubernerd as a fan 😂😂😂 Don't matter, you will feel like a fish in a new pond!
Takes one to know one hahahahahaha
Thanks for being here, my friend. I am honored :)
It's time for Metrock 2015. Thank me later. 😏
@6:37 i didnt know you where there
HOLY SHIT I JUST SAW THIS!!!!!!! HILARIOUS! That is actually uncanny 😂
Ijime, Dame, Zettai = No More Bullying, Forever.
The Fox God is not amused by your fart jokes. 🙂
Listen to musicianship 😂😂😂Kami band musicians are global rated ones.Koba metal chosed the best from sakura gakuin(A model, singer, idol, school)the best musicians in Japan and created a supergroup
