Unfortunately Yui's dress was not the only problem but probably the least of them. According to Koba the band had reserved a small stage at the festival. But for reasons unknown they were switched to the main stage. The girls didn't know how many people were there. The only got a glimpse but from the angle they were looking they thought there was next to nobody there. But they were not allowed to go out on stage to set up their marks for their dance routine. So they had to mentally mark their spots by looking at pictures. Then the band went out to do a sound check without knowing the rules. They were told since the band took the stage it would count against their performance time so they lost 10 minutes. And if all of that wasn't enough during the performance both Moa and the bands in ear mic malfunctioned. So none of them could hear anything from the others. The band said they just played by feel and Moa had to visually keep pace. But despite all of that they still put together a 30 plus minute show that changed the metal world forever.
There are guys in the music business for decades who would have left the stage in rage quit with malfunctiong in-ear or wardrobe. Babymetal just showed that they were already pros then. At this age I wouldn't even had the balls to enter the stage.
This was the defining moment in Babymetal's young career. They were originally supposed to play a support stage in the same festival, in front of fans who knew about them all ready. But something happened in the scheduling that caused them to get bumped up to the main stage, the same stage that had Iron Maiden performing on later that night. They were understandably very nervous, this being their first major over seas gig. On top of that, the fans they were performing in front of now were die hard metal heads, who had no idea who they were. Not only did they have the wardrobe malfunction, but they also had several audio issues through out the set. They fought through it though, and put on a great show. By the end of this, the last song, they were absolutely loving what they were hearing and seeing. This was the birth of their legend. And they have come far since then, and still have such a bright future ahead of them. :)
It had to be an amazing feeling to leave the crowd chanting "We want more!" They deserved it so much. :) You're absolutely right about Su's voice. If anyone doubts her ability, they should hear her during a sound check. It's crazy how good her voice is.
This is really hard to believe. It took them only around 30 minutes from unknown to superstars. And hearing the crowd chant "We want more! We want more!..." gives me chills instantaneously. BTW: If you think, the two dancer (Yui & Moa) were cute back then, check them out some years earlier at Sakura Gakuin. Cuteness on an almost deadly level!

That 60,000 was on Friday morning ,they were the second act to perform, the organizers said they have never had that many in the gates that early before. There were all sorts of pages begging babymetal to play this festival. I personally call this song their coming out party, this performance blsted them to where they are today, a global phenomenon. If you look up the shows they did here in Little Rock , you hear a crowd that was blown away by them.Our media outlefs here say nothing at all about babymetal and they have millions of fans here too

Another wonderful reaction. To me, this my favorite live performance video of BABYMETAL thus far because of the huge stakes involved with this show. They were not originally scheduled for the main stage, but do to another group being unable to perform (as I understand it), BABYMETAL was put on the large stage. This was their third or fourth performance outside of Asia, the previous shows being in small club like venues, but never before in front of such a large audience as Sonisphere afforded them. There is a picture that I absolutely love of the three young girls just before taking the stage here...and the looks on their faces are of sheer determination...and they won the day! I look forward to more from you two.
There are some really great fan cams of this and you can literary see how the audience get's over the shock and start enjoying themselves. The first chorus only the once in the relative front join in the dame jumps, the second time there's almost twice as many and in the end there's a Lot of people joining in. I don't think I've ever seen someone winning over the crowd like that. Super cool!

If you guys check-out stage right of the girls there's a group watching. The tall guy in all black and short hair, that's Chad Smith, drummer of Red Hot Chili Peppers. He said in an interview, " He just had to see for himself what all the Baby Metal hype was about ". After that performance ( he got it! }. Since then he's been a supporter and defender of them. As you probably know, when these 3 young, tiny, adorable girls took the stage to introduce a whole new genre to heavy metal, they were met sometimes with boos, vulgarities, and sometimes scary hostility. I witness that at a Montreal concert where some coward prick hurled a plastic water bottle at the adorable " YUI METAL". I saw her notice the object fly pass her, but with the Japanese spirit of perservering and not letting her bandmates down she continued on. I LOVE THIS LITTLE GIRL!! .!!! Since then they have swept most Metal Heads onto their side, the likes of Judas Priest Rob Holford, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Marty Friedman, Rob Zombie, Guns And Roses, Dragon Force, MegaDeth, Kiss, Queen, Slipknot, Slayer, Korn, and list goes on and on. Most of these Icons of metal credits these 3 adorable girls as the revival of their dying genre across the world. Of course you still have metal purist who are constantly attacking them. They claim to be Metal Head purist, but what they are is Shit Heads and there's nothing you can do about Haters like these. Didn't they open for the RHCP? That's absolutely insane. Metal and punk are two genres where being an asshole is kind of expected so for them to gain this much popularity is a testament to them doing something unique, different, and amazing.

Nice video, you guys are always quite insightful. This was a significant performance for them, one of the moments if not *the* moment of their breakthrough in the west. This is a great performance from a history standpoint, Su kicked ass but damn, the music feels so off without Taka. I don’t know if he and Mikio just synced up better or what it was. Now I have to get used to not hearing Mikio I guess
sandz Takayoshi Ohmura is the nutjob guitarist most often seen playing a bright pink, glittery, 7 string guitar. You can’t miss him once you know he’s there. Mikio Fujioka was the smallest in stature. He passed away early this year after a fall. Taka isn’t playing this particular show, and those that are used to him playing can pick out when he’s not there and it sounds off.

個人的に、2014年以降の映像はお勧めです。
別の言い方をすると、2013年までのライブ映像は日本人でも ＠＠？ の部分が多いので。
勿論、2018年に近ければ近いほど、Betterなパフォーマンスが見れます。

例えば、GJという曲の中の三三七拍子とか緑のサークル（山手線）とか、Meta-Taroという曲の中のウルトラセブンの決め技ポーズ・韻を踏む・野球の応援「かっ飛ばせー」とか。
BABYMETALの中心はSU-METALの爆音＆高音の声。バックバンドの超絶テクニックもゆい＆もあのダンス＆掛け声も、彼女の声があってこそ。憑依型アーティストなので、間違ったり、ブルッちゃうことがない、若いのにベテランぽい、ここが凄いです。

Band-Maidもエスカレートしてどんどん難しい曲をリリース。女性で凄いですよね。
One OK Rockも音楽性高いです。ヴォーカルは森進一と森昌子の子、遺伝子なのか、歌メッチャ上手いです。但し、MCのコトダマが悪いので、日本人は気になるかも。私は気になる。
Wagakki-Bandは和と洋楽器の調和だけでなく、Vocalは詩吟を極めた人。Senbonzakuraという曲の琴と三味線の音が心地よいです。
時代は巡り、日本が音楽や情報の発信国になっています。外国人観光客の数が凄いです。
世界に通用しなかった日本文化が、伝統的なものだけでなく音楽も世界で認められてきたのが嬉しいです。

This is a great performance from a history standpoint, Su kicked ass but damn, the music feels so off without Taka. I don’t know if he and Mikio just synced up better or what it was. Now I have to get used to not hearing Mikio I guess

sandz Takayoshi Ohmura is the nutjob guitarist most often seen playing a bright pink, glittery, 7 string guitar. You can’t miss him once you know he’s there. Mikio Fujioka was the smallest in stature. He passed away early this year after a fall. Taka isn’t playing this particular show, and those that are used to him playing can pick out when he’s not there and it sounds off.

So... Yui had issues with Her dress & some fans joked she had a fox tail... In a later show their dresses had tail designs in them.... coincidence?
That skirt was obviously insane. No sensible material in its right mind would try to escape from Yui.
