Almurdrons flame cousin does bug me a bit. I feel agnaktor would've been better than having a swamp beast for some reason be thrown in lava. Ragna and it's sub species are perfect in my opinion. It doesn't deviate too far from the main species and both are really cool
Agreed. Id have taken Lavasioth even. That whould have served the purpose of giving us a 2nd piscine wyvern in the game atleast. Only thing Magmalmudron does is replace Agnaktor.
The flavor texts worked great with this one. I find these documentaries so much more interesting when you have a coherent story to tell. (Also nice reminder that I really not to play more Sunbreak) SpidersArePrettyCoolActually/10
I know you put a tw for arachnophobia but the funny thing is a person that is **SUPER** scared of spiders all the spider monsters in mh are my favorite in the series, so jokes on you i'm into that shit!
Weirdly enough, wasn't there a development note regarding the design of MH's Arachnoids on how they were intentionally designed NOT to provoke an arachnophobia response while still evoking the essence of a spider?
Awesome video as always mate! Honestly, I wish Capcom added more Caparaceons, Neopterons and Temnocerans into the game. I really like Nerscylla, both Seltas and Ragna-Kadaki (and the crabs, of course), and I want MORE. Something like an assassin bug, covered in bodies of Altanoth and Bnahabra, would be awesome.
I am sick of fighting that same flying wyvern skeleton with the same animations and attacks. Let’s hope we get more equal ratios of leviathans bird wyverns, amphibians, carapaceons, temnocerans, fanged wyverns and brute wyverns in the next game!
Honestly after ahtal-ka basically proved the potential of the underused and usually underpowered monster types, we need to see more of these monsters being near elder dragon level if not higher.
That said if Oceaniz will bring up the differences between The Flooded and The Jungle that would be nice to hear his opinion because both Locales and Ecology are technically by definition "Tropical" but as a Hawaiian born and raised citizen The Flooded Forest seems to be inspired by the Amazon Rainforest VS The Jungle as the stereotypical vacation paradise terrain. AKA Hawaii. (🌺🍍🌴) There's an island in Hawaii known as the Forbidden island that greatly resembles The Jungle. It's very obscure information.
would you say that the thumbnail is tirggering? I am Arachnophobic myself and I felt that with how small the thumbnail is on the youtube page + the text obscuring much of the legs, it wasn't affecting me at least. I can definetly change it if anyone feels it crosses the line tho
Personally if I didn't know what Pyre Rakna and normal Rakna looked like before watching this.. I legit would not have known it was a spider- either way I'm not arachnophobic
Oh don't call it urinating 😿 it's already bad enough!!!! As always, love seeing these! Rakna is a fun monster, even with her wretched hitzones. Hope we see her and Nerscylla come back in the future!
Just gotta say I am so bummed we didn't get proper deviants. Think of the hype if they added one of the following for each DLC. Stonefist Hermitaur, Rustrazor Ceanataur, Snowbaron Lagombi, BoltReaver Astalos, or big daddy bloodbath. I'm watching this ecology video and I can see in my minds eye a bad ass trailer with a Glavenus Skull rumbling out of the ground and launching a fiery beam as a Rustrazor Ceanataur attacks the hunter character. Each zone could have received a unique deviant. Lava caverns/Rustrazor, Sandy plains/Bloodbath, jungle island/BoltReaver, etc
I await the Jungle ecology video next since the Citadel should be saved for last as it's the new main locale that the new flagship ED calls home and is very unusual to appear in a monster hunter universe game. Gothic Castles with a versatile multilayered environment looks like something that should be in a Tekken or Soul Calibur fighting game. Not monster hunter. And I love it. Even Chaos Legion a cult classic PS2 game bares some similarities to The Citadel.
So...Rakna-Kadaki can get fertilized, gestate, and hatch young within a span of minutes as long as it has energy to do so...and these things are "rare to the point where researchers thought they were extinct" how?
its mostly that they tended to live in areas too remote for scientists to explore. during the events of MHRise, they migrate to the Lava Caverns and finally become studiable. So its less that they are "rare" in nature, but "rare" to be observed within the means and resources of the guild
@@fenris5932 They seem to prefer hot climates, except for Pyre, which is native to the Kingdom and is somewhat of an invasive species in the Lava Caverns, pushing out the rachnoids in much of the cooler caves and the outdoors.
@@fenris5932 They also seem to be rather.... abusive to their children. So it may be that a female Raknoid making it to maturity could be a fairly rare phenomenon.
One thing I think you should have done is cover the special Endemic Life creatures in each of the areas. They are all either harmless or even beneficial to encounter, and will react to the Hunter performing various gestures in their presence - it's almost like they enjoy being visited by humans. Of course, attacking them makes them leave. Edit: I do wish you had tried to explain why there are no adult Agnaktors in the Lava Caverns even though there are Uroktors. My guess is that they get eaten by other predators of the Caverns before they can reach full size, similar to why there are no Zamtrios in the Frost Islands even though there are Zamites.

I've been hunting Rakna-Kadaki a lot to help with my arachnophobia. Hoping I get to hunt the Pyre sub species when Sun break drops on console.
If nerscylla makes it on the 6th gen you can conquer it again but this time its more spidery
