Sometimes you look at a game, that's just jawdroppingly beautiful and think "yeah this is a immediate buy". This art direction must've been such a massive undertaking.

@@FullMetalB just because an art style is cutesy or simplified doesnt mean its easy to create or not impressive. You might not jell with it but those visuals are definitely quite stunning, especially the enviroments. There are a lot of decisions and touches involved in making smt like this that people that arent into art just straight up wont get
Cute graphics, rougelike, base management, dark humor, eldritch abominations is an automatic buy for me

This was a stealth release for me. Roommate showed me the trailer, I laughed my ass off (for good reasons, the trailer was awesome), then it came out and I only realized because I saw someone playing it. Definitely getting this!
Played the demo during the Summer sale & have been looking forward to this since. Glad to hear it's good.

I got this game over the weekend and now I am ... 16 hrs into it. What an addictive gameplay!

I haven't gotten "hooked" on any Rogue like/lites yet (going to go back to Hades soon), but this one has me! Such a user friendly package with a *lot* of depth.
The frame dips are crazy in this game.
I already pre-ordered because I find it cool and gorgeous.
I hope the levels get more challenging and that after the main story you can go on and on as if it was like every other roguelike (+ going forward with the sim aspect).
Anyway, can't wait to play it!
Wish he explained literally any of this but oh well, imma check out a few other reviews. You’d think this review would’ve been more in depth given that he says he put 60 hours into it

Recently you've stopped mentioning the price of games you're reviewing. I think that plays a huge role into a rating. Cult looks great but if you told me it's $69.99 vs $19.99, that would significantly play into whether someone wants the game or not.

I agree, I like the reviews but the price has to be mentioned more. I want to have total awareness of what every game has to offer before I buy it, considering I don’t plan to buy many games in a given year.
Great point! Especially since it is not only a review, but also a guide if something is worth a purchase, and if price isn’t mentioned what is the point of the buy, wait for sale gimmick?
@@kellswiss prize can vary very fast, this video will stay for long time and that info will be deprecated. you can visit the store to see the prize anytime.
@@ivanleon6164 True. I’m not making a huge complaint here, but it is slightly annoying to not be told how much the price is in a guide centered around whether you should buy it or not.
It's been a long time since I saw a game breakdown which immediately made me want to buy a game with very little if any prior knowledge beforehand.
Thanks for the video. I just preordered on Steam, hopefully it'll be a game that translates well to Steam Deck.

Sifu and Elden Ring have been my games of the year so far, this might have to be added to that list
Ooh, forgot about this one coming out so soon! Between XC3, the new Sunbreak update, this, and maybe Two Point Campus, this has been the biggest month since Elden Ring for me.
I got strong "Happy Tree Friends" vibes from this game.
Bugs killed this game for me on PS5. Doing a full dungeon run just for the final fight to bug out is really ruinous. It's a huge shame, the game was great otherwise.
indie games tend to be more buggy for the consoles

Love how these companies can never manage to release a demo for every console. It's always PC, sometimes switch but almost never Xbox as well as PS. Like what you hiding?!!
@@j.j.9511 calm down, friend. It's just a lot easier for them to release demos on the Steam marketplace than it is to arrange that with Xbox and PlayStation. The fact that they have a free, working demo anywhere should be an indication that they aren't hiding anything, since most games do not have free demos on any platform.

I haven't been excited to play a new game in a while. Tried out the demo and couldn't wait for the full game to release!!! It's nice to have something different to play for once
Your comment about the game needing imbalance is great and something I've been thinking about a lot. Rogue-lites specifically, I think, benefit from being a bit more unpredictable.
I agree. A lot of the excitement of rouges come from those runs where you get those couple of OP items and everything comes together

Love the game, tho i feel like both aspect of the game (cult/resource management, & roguelite) could do with more unpredictability & depth.
Love the base for this game, and the artstyle, aesthetic, and music just is my jam. Love it.

Game looks great but a bit complex, hope it won't overwhelm me too with too much too fast.
I know hades is still around but this definitely scratched that itch for the rougelite genre. The bonus was the eldritch lord and the base management.

Just bought this cause enter the gungeon is my favorite next to binding of Isaac! Only played about an hour so far but it’s amazing!! Very addicting!they even have a roadmap for free content

I've been on the fence on this one since I heard of it releasing last year. I love the roguelike gameplay it has to offer, but I'm not really into base controlling/Animal Crossing-like stuff. But who knows, maybe some day I'll give it a shot

Can I give one suggestion though? I really like your review scoring vs the traditional number style, however sometimes I have to rewatch the rating segment because I can’t tell if it was “Buy” or “Wait for sale.” That wasn’t case with this game as you clearly stated that it’s worth the money. Maybe you could put a graphic on the screen during the conclusion segment, just to be 100% clear what your recommendation is? Just my opinion. Loved the review, really excited for the game, and keep up the great work!
Great review, but I feel like it really could've done with some examples of the music and voices. You spent a lot of time trying to describe the voices in particular, but I never heard them in the video. If you'd just describe it a bit and then play a few seconds of the game audio, it'd be much more efficient than attempting to explain it. It's a video review, not a written one, so you might as well take advantage of the format.

Playing on normal is the best way to play it gives challenge but also you can just chill out a rest

This is a chill out and rest game for people who love murder and dungeon crawling lmaooo this is a brilliant game honestly I wish they make a cult of the lamb 2
I have encountered several bugs on PS5 and one very annoying one where my floor tiles will not save properly and everytime I leave the cult and return the tiles are reverted back to my old layouts, its very annoying . but I am loving the game despite its bugs, ive also encountered some soft locks and glitchy enemies going invisible but still able to hit me.

I am 8 hours in and really love it. A unique game is so many aspects while adapting a lot of great things into its own.

Great review, but this is definitely a roguelite as opposed to a roguelike.
What's the difference
I have the switch version and it does stutter and lag a bit. Only had one time where the game totally crashed.
