You missed one major thing about necklaces, thiers one that doubles the life span of your followers I have five it makes it easier when u have a big cult because you don’t have to return every 5 minutes to bury a follower who has gotten old and died
Beginning tips 1. Growing flowers in the beginning is a good way to farm gold. Get tons of grass from your runs, and make farming plots, like 20. Slowly replace the flowers with veggies as you get more followers. You're basically wasting money by not farming right away. It's not just for food. 2. Don't dungeon run every day. Set most followers to "worship" and do the dirty work on the farm yourself. It's not glamorous but taking a day off from dungeon running to shovel poop is well worth your time. This will get you to the buildings that make wood and stone quickly and also automate these tasks. 3. Unlock Ascension early in your "Afterlife" doctrine. Your followers get old and die. This allows you to turn them into faith rather than use resources to bury them. Also useful if you get a heretic in your rank and don't have a prison yet. 4. Use your special curse a lot. Some of the rooms with more enemies will fill your fervor right back up, especially if you get a tarot card that increases fervor. I've killed a couple mini bosses using just my curse. 5. Be patient on bosses. Let them go through their move set and you should pick it up quickly. The combat isn't hard but button mashing will never work. I find the best attack window right after the boss moves. Also, remember your dodge roll can go through projectiles.
Thanks for the tip bud. Also I have like 18 followers currently in my base but only 6 enter the temple I do rituals. Is it a bug or did I miss something for everybody to join in.
Your curses also destroy projectiles, so you can banish a wave of them and roll into the rest. This is a serious advantage with the third boss who uses the most projectile stuff.
After a sermon, you can beat most of the followers out of the door with a couple rolls. Have some gravestones outside to distract them upon leaving the sermon. Bless 90% of them with one shot
I have a few tips of my own that haven't been mentioned in the video. 1. Out of the four crown powers you can get, go for Omnipresence first. Omnipresence allows you to escape from a crusade and teleport back to your cult at anytime. This ability is VERY useful when dealing with the bishops later on, as, starting with Heket, they WILL mess with your followers, and so having the ability to pop back and quickly remedy the situation is very handy. 2. A little something to add in regards to The Hunger crown perk. While most meals do give you that free blue heart, some don't. Meals with overly negative effects like the Bowl of Poop and the Deadly Dish will NOT grant you that blue heart, they'll just make the lamb throw up. 3. Always, ALWAYS perform your sermons when available, even after you've got all the curses and weapon upgrades. First, you get free money from sermons once your temple gets upgraded, Second, each sermon grants you an additional blue heart on top of perks like The Hunger, and unlike The Hunger, you can get as many blue hearts from sermons as you want. 4. If you plan to use a ritual that decreases faith (like resurrection), do your sermon AFTER the ritual, it will offset the faith cost easily. 5. Keep collecting faith from your statue and tier 3 homes, even after you've unlocked everything. After unlocking all divine inspiration blueprints, faith is automatically converted into coins on collection, allowing you to become ridiculously rich. 6. I would highly recommend picking Alms for the Poor over Ritual of Enrichment, especially if leveling up your followers is your goal. Sure it costs 50 coins, but that cost is easy to offset, plus if you get the cheaper rituals perk, the price drops to just 25 coins. Regardless of the coins spent, the Alms for the Poor ritual grants big loyalty boost for all followers, which saves time on individual interactions. 7. After Omnipresence, the next crown power i'd recommend getting is Darkness Within. This crown power gives you a free Diseased Heart (or Black Heart) at the start of every crusade. Bonus health is also a plus, and this bonus does stack on top of The Hunger (so you can start with 2+ bonus hearts). Diseased Hearts themselves are pretty helpful, if you take damage while you have a Diseased Heart, all enemies in the room with you take a bit of damage too. I'd recommend Darkness Within over The Hunger as you don't have to do anything to get your free Diseased Heart, you're just given one for free at the start of a run. 8. Don't always skip your nights. You can use the extra time you have during the night to take care of any housekeeping things you need to do, which gives you less to worry about in the day. 9. If your having trouble keeping your faith level up, there are many ways to just automatically generate faith that require little to no input from you. First, get the Belief in Absolution perk. With this perk, as long as you have no followers imprisoned, you get +10 faith at the start of every day, and as long as you keep your faith up, you probably won't be using that thing anyway. Second, get the Respect Your Elders perk, it grants you +5 faith everytime a follower reaches old age. Also, i'd recommend getting the Grieve the Fallen perk as it unlocks Graves, an upgrade for body pits that allow your follower to grieve, generating +2 faith everytime they do. 10. If you don't yet have a follower prison, and want to quickly get rid of dissenters, you can always sacrifice (or ascend) them. I would recommend Sacrificing them over straight up killing them because you get more out of Sacrifices/Ascensions than plain murder.
I second the Omnipresence one. When I first killed Kallamar we died simultaneously, I resurrected by sacrificing a follower, but when I respawned the game had bugged out. I couldnt interact with anything, couldnt pick up the Heart, and the door wouldnt open. Without Omnipresence I wouldve had to quit the game and reload. Funnily Steam did recognize my kill and gave me the achievement, but I did have to do the fight again to continue progression.
To add to #9, if you do have a follower imprisoned, you can simply free them just before morning, get the +10 faith, and then just shove them right back in
Better tips than the video, except always do sermons. The first sermon starts time, so a wise lamb would gain at least some devotion upgrades before the first sermon.
heres a trick that you didnt see then, offering tables. offering tables are so OP. build as many of them as you can, you will be stacked up on fish and you'll never have to forge your own gold bars again, it gives so many free recources, and having a fourth of your map be just offering tables, combined with having a lot of lumberyards so you can make the offering tables, and you'll be set on recources for the rest of the game
I refuse to sacrifice anyone, or let anyone die at that... If someone asks to be sacrificed I will do it and then immediately res them, old age? Res them. I like my members and I refuse to let them die :)
I always clear the camp out of resources on first arrival as there is no hunger day/night cycle until you head back out which gives you a lot of resources plus leaves your growing followers free to worship and generate faster upgrades, I also name my followers in line with their attributes, e.g. one who works faster is called Speedy, one who is materialist is called Greedy, makes it a little easier when assigning tasks or giving complimentary gifts.
small tips: resurrection ritual can bring back dead followers allowing stupid high loyalty levels and unlocking natural death allows follower corpses to be turned into fertilizer
To add to the necklaces, theres another one that actually increases the life span of a follower. So it's good for keeping a follower you really like to last longer.
One tip to keep in mind is that upgrading lumberyards and stone mines resets their capacity to the second tier's. So, if you're *really* hurting for resources, wait until your mines and yards run out before making the second tier upgrade. You don't even need to worry about taking them down to 1 piece of wood or stone in the chest, all the resources you didn't claim before upgrading will be there after you upgrade.
Not sure if you mention it in any of your videos or not yet, hut if you transform a follower with the Demon Summoning circle into a heart shaped demon, and bring it to a dungeon with the Heart guy, he will ask for your follower in exchange for permanant half a heart
Another small tip that could help you in the long run!!! With mines and lumberyards, ALWAYS WAIT FOR THEM TO BE DEPLETED before upgrading them! It saves you on resources trust me
there are also the rainbow tarot cards. it's gonna have its effects x2. an example: if you find a tarot card that gives you x1.25 movement speed with the rainbow upgrade it transforms in x2 movement speed.
I can't wait for that lucky run where I get both ++ variants of the curse cards on a glass-cannon run. 8x the curses with 3.5x the damage, already broken curses like Hounds of Fate will just Delete bosses more so than they already do. All that needs is fervor's host and you can just spam curses on everything.
1. You can buy fish from the fisherfish in the Pilgrims Passage zone. Octopus, squid, and lobster can all be purchased for 10 gold and sold for up to 20 at the chest in your camp where you sell to The One Below. 2. The Ritual of Resurrection is a great way to bring back high value followers, especially the ones you like to convert to demons for help in dungeons. 3. Setting the Ritual of Fasting before going on a long dungeon run will help with follower happiness because they will not be starving. 4. I only spend time inspiring the followers that I convert to demons for dungeon runs. Having a high level archer / melee / fervour follower can help a lot.
I’m not sure if there’s a way to see a followers traits after you’ve indoctrinated them but I started color coding them based on their traits. Makes it easier to know who’s easier to level up or who generates more devotion etc.
Reading mind shows it, but for quick recognition, I use foxes, cats and dogs as my favorites and “hard workers”. For the lazy ones, I set them as frogs and other reptiles, lol (I don’t rly like reptiles)
@@KitsukiiPlays I have white ones for easy level up, black for hard level up, blue for devotion, yellow for lazy ones, and purple for ones with sickly and faith loss when ill and no other positive traits. I like having different formations. The colors makes it easier when I need to sacrifice them.
@@KitsukiiPlays hehe I’m a reptile owner and even if you don’t like them that’s a perfect role for em 😂 they’re cold blooded so most are quick but prefer in safe spaces to slug around like drunken men lmao
Best tip. Get the golden fleece asap. Its op. You get 10% more dmg per kill until you get hit and take double damge. Used to scale infinitely but got nerfed to 200% max. Still is really good and invicibilty frames while dodging a very generous that you shouldn't get hit often. Even if you get hit its quite easy to get back to 200% dmg in just a few rooms.
One small detail I missed was Recylcling old weapons/curses when I got a new one. I didn't realize it until I was a few dungeons in.... I also highly recommend to level up and get the perks where rituals will cost half of required resources and the other perk on the next tier that cuts down cooldown timers, it helped me SO much to keep my followers happy being able to ascend the elderly with the elderly death perk!
@@freakygirl2104 when you hover over the cure/weapon it will show the description and under it the option to equip it or to recycle it, recycling will give you gold. Hopes this helps
@@johntaylor4008 i am actually shocked, i thought you just lost your weapon! but i am playing on playstation, need to check it out tomorrow when i play. i am very excited and the game is so fun and i see many other games in it - which i love - hope i can improve soon!!
Simple tips: You can deflect arrows and explosive enemies. Using the brainwash event prevents negative side effects from other events. Using inspiration booths near crafting stations and praying altar helps to speed up the process. Turning your followers into demons doesn't kill them.
They assist you on one crusade and then turn back to normal. So get the max level summoning circle as early as possible and get the extra assistance from your followers on crusades. They will also turn back to normal when you go to upgrade the circle.
When starting a cult with 1 follower, I have all the time needed to clear the entire base, getting all the wood and stone. This is the only time where faith, hunger, and sanitation counters are not present. Toward late game, gold bars are pretty hard to come by, so I build a lot of refinery and offering altar.
Thanks for the tips ! I wish there were an option to call all your followers in order to inspire them all at once as well as a way to prevent them to instantly eat some meals. Sometimes you need to give a specific meal to a follower but as soon as it cooked, another one come and eat it. This lead me to two more tips: 1- Sermon as the sunrise and inspire a follower as soon as he leaves the main house, all the others around will be inspired at the same time. A good way to start the day. 2- If you need to give a specific food to a follower, feed the other ones first then cook the meal, no one will eat it if they are full.
A good one that I found out thanks to someone on twitter! If you're like me and picked funerals and gravestones for the faith instead of resurrecting and the fertilizer option- if you worry about wasting space with pits filled with bodies, you can always harvest the bodies at night when everyone is sleeping. That way you wont lose faith and you'll get plenty of bones and meat you can sell. I do wish there was a way to remove them tho since there have been occasions where I accidentally wrapped the body instead of harvest.
There is a way to get rid of them! Go into building editor if you have accidentally wrapped them up, hover over them and click x or whatever your button is. It will get rid of it forever!
I really liked the high risk high reward cape that makes you take double damage but every enemy you kill increases the amount you deal by 10%. Playing perfectly, I 3-5 shot the bosses with an axe
The theme and unique ideas are what sold me on the game. You're right, the roguelite side of things is a bit thin when compared to something like Hades or Dead Cells, but it's far from horrible. Solid game, just not perfect.
I feel like it's more relaxed and forgiving than Hades/Enter the gungeon because you have to balance the runs and maintaining your cult otherwise it'd be a real grind to make progress. Although I do wish the "rooms" were bigger I think they did great all around.
One thing I see a lot of people doing is putting seed silo's and fertiliser silos inside the range of the farms. The silos can be anywhere and farming cultists will still use them, so by placing them outside the range you can have an additional 8 farm plots in a single farm, you can even use one silo for multiple farm plots. Just make sure the silos are still near the farms so the cultists dont have to keep walking back and forth too far
Here's a few additional tips: - Something that can easily be lost if you don't take it is the Revival ritual. This not only allows you to bring back a follower with great traits, but they also return at their old loyalty level and with whatever necklace they were buried with. This is incredibly helpful when mating two followers to birth an Uber version. - You should unlock Natural Burial as well since it removes bodies without you having to butcher the follower. - Interference from a Bishop that affects your followers are one-off events that typically happen at the beginning of a run. If you take the teleport option that's unlocked via Bishop hearts, you can easily fix whatever they do and resume your run without it wrecking your faith and spawning dissenters.
To me, one of the best parts of the game is naming the followers & the cult. My 3 cults are the : Filthy Clerics GraveLords Of Ni Londo Darkwraiths Then I start naming the cultists after pets of mine, ones that are living or that have passed on! A few examples : Filthy Oscar, Cleric Katie, Gravelord Lola, Gravelord Rocky, Darkwraith Bootsy & Duke of Darkness. Had a lot of cats, rats, dogs & lizards growing up! Now they can all hang out in the Cult of the Lamb haha! One of my all time favorite games!
The bonus terro card thing will actually have this little recharge ring above it, that fills as you complete combat rooms. So it might say recharging when you first find it, but finishing the floor and going back it could be unlocked again
My wife is currently a white squirrel 😂 she’s super chill actually but I unlocked her skin by killing a bunch of squirrels so it’s a little awkward.. but what helped me alot earlier on was having everyone destroy the wildlife in your village and help them. Gain them resources get them beds super early and then have them all on devotion while you catch up in the dungeons
I've just finished playing it and although I didn't figure everything out from the get go, it was such a good game and had a wonderfull time discovering everything one by one.
6:58 It might be better to devotion farm until you max out the cult progress tree because all devotion becomes gold at that point and when you're stocking up hearts from the full skill tree sermons for the final boss, you find yourself with 15,000 gold coins
In regards to the Wood problem, the first time I died on my run I had restarted the Lighthouse which cost me most of my wood. I didn’t realize and since I died, I had to do a quest that required me to perform a ritual. All of my rituals had just started their cooldowns except for the bonfire ritual, for which I had less than half the required resources. I had to complete this quest before I could leave my cult and I couldn’t just choose to fail and suffer consequences either. This was also before I had built a lumberyard, so I had to wait for trees to grow and give my followers meals with a chance to drop resources and hope it’s wood. Cost me an hour or two
Make absolutely sure you put good followers collecting resources if you can. I messed up at the first part of my game and kept lazy ones on the lumberyard and dear god I thought it was gonna take till next year to get 10 wood
An Beginner One Is The Demonic Ritual thingy, i thought it would actually sacrifice them so i was scared of using it, except it helps a ton specially if the level is high and ends up giving you Extra Hearts, Damage Demons (damage the enemys themselfs) and your followers that you sacrificed will come back except tired A More Mid-Late Game one is when in silk cradle when the spider try to summon your followers so you kill them you can use omni-presence so they dont die and you will end up only having to play the dungeon for a lil more time
Just some general info I you die as you kill a heretic you will NOT be able to get the heart of the heretic anymore! Just a quick heads up (it will probably get fixed in a future update).
Also another thing worth noting during my playthrough of the game is if you make the lamb eat minced follower meat, you'll actually get 2 diseased hearts!
i find smashing everything to not be a good idea. it’s not a big problem in the first zone, but later levels have a lot of debris and that would then take a lot more time, and time is precious in this game. smashing everything might cost you a day, maybe two, and that means you lose one or two sermons, followers here and there might starve, and if you have the precious die young trait it’s even more problematic with the old folks at home. i think it’s best to smash the debris along with the enemies and smash the ones near the exits and take what i get. ive never had a resource crisis doing it this way
By the time you get to the late game you'd rarely need to smash if only for few specific things that you can gather while you're there, particularly the specific resources of each dungeon like flowers, crystals, mushrooms, and silk. You can take care of the rest through the missionary house.
@@Karanthaneos i agree i got this quest the other day to get 10 flowers for my follower, i went for 3 days, got 9 and the quest expired. i was gone for so long my followers died from old age, the others starved, shat everywhere, the failed quest brought faith even lower. i had to brainwashed my cult because of that, not to mention i missed 3 sermons that could net me an upgrade meanwhile, a guy wanted some shrooms. i hit the missionary, net around 20-24 from a trip or two. took a day :)
Your number one top priority overall should be building follower loyalty. The higher level your followers, the more efficiently they work, and the stronger they fight as demons. To that end, choose every doctrine that will upgrade loyalty; Inspire, Bribe, Ascension, Loyalty Enforcer, and Marriage are all excellent for that. What will take this to the next level is resurrection. Anyone that you like and have leveled up well, as soon as the get old, kill them with ascension, and resurrect them to keep leveling them up. (I have a team of 3 that I bring to the dungeons that are all level 30+) Another thing to know is, money is important, but devotion comes first. Because once you unlock all the devotion upgrades (goes faster than you think), all that devotion you collect is gold instead. And money is no longer an issue ever. The best food by far is the magnificent mixed meal. It's 2 tuna, 2 beets and 2 meat. 100% chance to increase follower loyalty and stop a dissenting follower, no downside. I basically don't farm anything but beets. I get the seeds from the guy in the room with all the doors to the dungeons. You can buy tuna from the fisherman. The only tough one is the meat, but between teir 2 Scarecrows, Offering Statues, and Missionary trips, you can keep it coming in pretty quick. Offering Statues are super OP by the way, you can spam them for pretty cheap and then you get pretty decent loot just rolling in for free.
You should add (and not sure if someone already pointed out) you don't just go and eat ANYTHING. Some meals, the negative ones, will DECREASE your heart by half, so watch what you eat. Eating the berry bowl is a nice cheap safe way to get that starting hard. Things like poop and grass are no go, even if your cult has the grass eater ability, it for some reason doesn't extend to you. I would also recommend smacking those statues and practice Bishops, because you fight them with no tarot card upgrades. This will come in handing for [REDACTED] Who you fight without those upgrades, making your fight harder then you might be use to
Some tips and info you didn't mention/known 1:06 I see you have placed your seed bank and fertilizer inside of the farm outline which you don't need to and shouldn't do, since the outline only indicates the range of the farms ability to let your followers to water and later to harvest the plants inside it so you just wasted 8 landtiles for food. The seed and fertilizer bank work always anywhere on the map, you only need to stock them up, so building a couple of it and fill them up to always keep them busy. 9:23 They extra cards aren't only one use per dungeon, then you buy them then a little circle with a timer starts and once it ran out you can buy another one Also once you unlocked the pier and the sacrifice chest you can buy some squids, calamarys and lobsters and sell them with a greater interest to your master. It is a nice extra an coins for the early game. And buying the teleport back for a heart is just a waste since you will be treated like you died and loose 30% of your loot so just playing till the boss or die trying is the motto.
You only lose 15% when escaping though instead of 30% when dying. Also, you don't lose anything if you escape after defeating a boss, which is useful in extended runs.
@@Astowo You don't lose anything after a boss when you escape probably because you could just normally go through the existing portal after it, also still it should be no loss since you then need to calculate if it is worth to go get more or lose 30%, which can be a lot or nothing but so it would just be better to try and beat the main boss to get early out and even get a little bit extra loot instead because at that point you should be able to beat them easy with your knowledge about their behavior or having enough extra damage to get them in 1 - 5 hits
You can also sleep to pass the night. Originally, this was just in Penitence Mode, but the Sins of the Flesh update allows you to build the Leader's Tent to pass the night. Me? I use the night to clean up the area & collect the resources they've collected.
I prefer to prioritize "Omnipotence" over "Hunger." Once the Bishops of the Old Faith start attacking your followers, you might need to run home to protect them when they get sick or hungry. I can always find blue hearts on a crusade.
If you need bones for rituals, the sword tiles on your crusades will allow you to fight the most enemies and increase your bone drops, you can also sacrifice followers for a couple. Later missionary tiers can allow you to automate bone acquisition if your followers are high enough level.
Wood beginning tip, smash the training dummies. Can't say if I missed something or just thought they were invincible but you get two wood per training dummy.
6:06 I prefer bribing my followers over extorting them. Once the ability to sell items is unlocked, the ability to buy Loyalty far outweighs the pittance they offer you.
About eating food. Im not sure if you need cannival trait for that (I had it so I dont know how it looks without it) but If you will eat meal from follower meat you dont get 1 blue heart... but 2 black hearts.
Smash everything for resources. #2.fertilizer the crops and collect the poop. #3.Collect as much wood for future problems and build lumber yards. #4.stars are=fortune teller) hanging swords= item bender. #5 in game eat before you go out. #6 when going to the fortune teller go to the three cards right next to him #7 hold Y ∆ to speed time up at your base #8 hit the the statues you get more points and with x's over them as a portal that skips to the boss.
Hahahaha what a funny awesome game! Just bought it today and I am about to jump into it. So innocent looking until you see all the symbolism and dark wickedness hahahaha love it
Actually, it doesn't matter what you eat as long as you don't eat the grass meal, I believe it makes you throw up and doesn't give you the "armour" heart, but you lose some HP instead. Not sure if it's been already said in the comments :D
Ngl I got this game and didn’t pick it up yet because I been playing xenoblade 3 since launch and it’s been the only game I been playing rn. This video mad useful before going into it.
There is one trick which I find it 100% level complete. Laplace's Dice. In the run you get it you can have as much ❤❤❤ as you want to. Just keep destroying the bishop statue and roll the dice over and over.
Smash everything: That's just good video game strategy period. My biggest problem in this game is I never seem to have enough poop for fertilizer. It's like I build the outhouse, and my followers just stop pooping. Yes, I know there are the compost things, but those just don't make enough. 5:49 It actually does matter what meal you eat. Basic dishes give you one heart, good quality dishes give you two hearts, the minced follower meat gives you two diseased hearts, and the Deadly dish takes away one heart. So basically, the *Minced Follower Meat gives you the best buff* ... even though the Lamb vomits after eating it. Where I'm at in my game I have more necklaces than followers. LOL
For gold I chose to have the bounty of the ocean ritual so I can get more and higher chance of rarer fish, not only can it help with food a bit but some fish are value like 20 coins when you sell them, and I was able to easily go over 300-400

You missed one major thing about necklaces, thiers one that doubles the life span of your followers I have five it makes it easier when u have a big cult because you don’t have to return every 5 minutes to bury a follower who has gotten old and died
“Marry them young and adore them so you can get the most out of them before sacrificing them” sounds ABSOLUTELY INSANE out of context bruh 😂
The craziest part is this happens in real cults
Beginning tips
Thanks for sharing some of your tips!
Thanks for the tip bud. Also I have like 18 followers currently in my base but only 6 enter the temple I do rituals. Is it a bug or did I miss something for everybody to join in.
wait how do you sell the flowers?
Your curses also destroy projectiles, so you can banish a wave of them and roll into the rest. This is a serious advantage with the third boss who uses the most projectile stuff.
Ascension? Great idea!
After a sermon, you can beat most of the followers out of the door with a couple rolls. Have some gravestones outside to distract them upon leaving the sermon. Bless 90% of them with one shot
W tip 😭
Thank u smart
DONT WASTE POOP! Save it for tier 3 shelters. 10 poop per shelter adds up fast so you need a lot if you want a tier 3 for every cult member.
I was going to say the same thing! I'm poop poor right now!
I have like 200 "fertilizer" AKA poop
Make them eat grass
Terrible advise, food is more important than a upgraded hut, followers poo a ridiculous amount
@@shauhanopenshaw3786 or maybe you’re just a noob who can’t feed your cult.
I literally never use omnipresence! Even after a bishop curses the cult with famine or plague. They'll survive long enough to finish the crusade.
heres a trick that you didnt see then, offering tables. offering tables are so OP. build as many of them as you can, you will be stacked up on fish and you'll never have to forge your own gold bars again, it gives so many free recources, and having a fourth of your map be just offering tables, combined with having a lot of lumberyards so you can make the offering tables, and you'll be set on recources for the rest of the game
Just recently gotten into this game and wanted to thank you for this 🙏🏻such a good tip
I refuse to sacrifice anyone, or let anyone die at that... If someone asks to be sacrificed I will do it and then immediately res them, old age? Res them. I like my members and I refuse to let them die :)
Feels ya, i deny them the opportunity to die.
Oh my God! That's genius!
Nah i prefered their name as funny as jojul
small tips: resurrection ritual can bring back dead followers allowing stupid high loyalty levels and unlocking natural death allows follower corpses to be turned into fertilizer
To add to the necklaces, theres another one that actually increases the life span of a follower. So it's good for keeping a follower you really like to last longer.
Probably one of my favorite takes on the rogue genre, and there's so much freedom to the game! I love it!
Bro really said "get the spirit heart you have to eat for first" Instead of the free, no strings attached diseased heart for every run
Looks like Stardew valley combined with binding of Isaac haha
Maybe some Don't STarve too.

Exactly, exactly. The game reminds me of Soul Knight on mobile as well.
Better note: it does matter a lot which food you eat! Grassy gruel will take half a heart vs how follower meat gives you two black hearts!
Not sure if you mention it in any of your videos or not yet, hut if you transform a follower with the Demon Summoning circle into a heart shaped demon, and bring it to a dungeon with the Heart guy, he will ask for your follower in exchange for permanant half a heart
That's cool
can you get the exchanged follower back with resurrection?
@@dane2307 no, I don't believe so.
There are a few ways to sacrifice followers that result in them being unable to be resurrected
@@frankyhorn2475 yep, like when you sacrifice then to Midas. You can't resurrect those followers either
I don't think 1.25 * 2 is equals 2.
If you read their mind, you can see their traits.
I'm very new to the game and never made it past day 10 or so, what do you mean by recycling weapons?
@@freakygirl2104 when you hover over the cure/weapon it will show the description and under it the option to equip it or to recycle it, recycling will give you gold. Hopes this helps

Good to know about the followers as I was afraid to put my 20+ dudes in there.
When starting a cult with 1 follower, I have all the time needed to clear the entire base, getting all the wood and stone. This is the only time where faith, hunger, and sanitation counters are not present.
Toward late game, gold bars are pretty hard to come by, so I build a lot of refinery and offering altar.
Not sure if this works anymore, when I try to do it the game frozes and I need to start from the beginning cuz there's no way to close the menus
Thanks for the tips !
I wish there were an option to call all your followers in order to inspire them all at once as well as a way to prevent them to instantly eat some meals. Sometimes you need to give a specific meal to a follower but as soon as it cooked, another one come and eat it.
This lead me to two more tips:
1- Sermon as the sunrise and inspire a follower as soon as he leaves the main house, all the others around will be inspired at the same time. A good way to start the day.
2- If you need to give a specific food to a follower, feed the other ones first then cook the meal, no one will eat it if they are full.
Thanks mate! I just started this on Switch. Loving it so far.
We too. Picked it up on Friday
we also bought it on switch, we are loving it!
Same
Me too! It's brilliant! Love a Switch sale
Hi Karl. Love from Bihar. I am also playing it on the switch.
I was hoping later down the line there would be a way to get rid of the wrapped body. I accidentally pressed the wrong button too.
There is a way to get rid of them! Go into building editor if you have accidentally wrapped them up, hover over them and click x or whatever your button is. It will get rid of it forever!
@@lunaris4616 really? I didn't know that I just found out there's a compost you can unlock to turn their body into poop.
@@thatguy52 Yup that works too! However, that is a doctrine specifically, so if you didn't happen to choose that one, building editor is reliable 👍
I got this game not really knowing what to expect. I love it so much, it took all the best aspect of my favorite games.
As little there is to do after you finish the main game I wouldn't even worry about rushing anything. Take your time and enjoy things.
It does say on the main menu there's updates coming soon so maybe they'll add some new cool stuff for us to try
that’s what i love about it! i’m not focused on beating the game, i’m just enjoying the day to day life haha
I really liked the high risk high reward cape that makes you take double damage but every enemy you kill increases the amount you deal by 10%. Playing perfectly, I 3-5 shot the bosses with an axe
it's pretty light on the rogue like side, but Im enjoying it, the theme really saves the game.
The theme and unique ideas are what sold me on the game. You're right, the roguelite side of things is a bit thin when compared to something like Hades or Dead Cells, but it's far from horrible. Solid game, just not perfect.
@@LegacyGamingUS i wish they update the roguelite aspect of the game in the near future
Here's a few additional tips:
- Something that can easily be lost if you don't take it is the Revival ritual.
I am sure you know this but the red orbs that float around your camp and night can be collected for devotion.
how?

To me, one of the best parts of the game is naming the followers & the cult. My 3 cults are the :
Filthy Clerics
GraveLords Of Ni
Londo Darkwraiths
Then I start naming the cultists after pets of mine, ones that are living or that have passed on!
I went with puns
Tower's of Baabel
Shear's of Fate
Ovis Sanctimonious (lamb above others)
if someone general childhood is 18 years you've most likely had over 18 pets....... jesus christ how many rata have you killed?

Cost me an hour or two
i feel this.
Make absolutely sure you put good followers collecting resources if you can. I messed up at the first part of my game and kept lazy ones on the lumberyard and dear god I thought it was gonna take till next year to get 10 wood
An Beginner One Is The Demonic Ritual thingy, i thought it would actually sacrifice them so i was scared of using it, except it helps a ton specially if the level is high and ends up giving you Extra Hearts, Damage Demons (damage the enemys themselfs)
and your followers that you sacrificed will come back except tired
A More Mid-Late Game one is when in silk cradle when the spider try to summon your followers so you kill them you can use omni-presence so they dont die and you will end up only having to play the dungeon for a lil more time
The silk cradle soundtrack in the background is just a.. chef kiss!
Just some general info I you die as you kill a heretic you will NOT be able to get the heart of the heretic anymore! Just a quick heads up (it will probably get fixed in a future update).
The follower offerings statues are really good to get, you can get almost everything from then, even things like 4 gold bars at once
Just started this game, it’s already one best games ever played
@@Karanthaneos i agree
i got this quest the other day to get 10 flowers for my follower, i went for 3 days, got 9 and the quest expired. i was gone for so long my followers died from old age, the others starved, shat everywhere, the failed quest brought faith even lower. i had to brainwashed my cult because of that, not to mention i missed 3 sermons that could net me an upgrade
meanwhile, a guy wanted some shrooms. i hit the missionary, net around 20-24 from a trip or two. took a day :)

Being married crosses over in the resurrection. So you can use them as soon as you bring them back.
Great Co-op game me and my girl are having a blast !
(I have a team of 3 that I bring to the dungeons that are all level 30+)
Another thing to know is, money is important, but devotion comes first.
This will come in handing for [REDACTED] Who you fight without those upgrades, making your fight harder then you might be use to
Some tips and info you didn't mention/known
1:06 I see you have placed your seed bank and fertilizer inside of the farm outline which you don't need to and shouldn't do, since the outline only indicates the range of the farms ability to let your followers to water and later to harvest the plants inside it so you just wasted 8 landtiles for food. The seed and fertilizer bank work always anywhere on the map, you only need to stock them up, so building a couple of it and fill them up to always keep them busy.
9:23 They extra cards aren't only one use per dungeon, then you buy them then a little circle with a timer starts and once it ran out you can buy another one
Also once you unlocked the pier and the sacrifice chest you can buy some squids, calamarys and lobsters and sell them with a greater interest to your master.
@@Astowo You don't lose anything after a boss when you escape probably because you could just normally go through the existing portal after it, also still it should be no loss since you then need to calculate if it is worth to go get more or lose 30%, which can be a lot or nothing but so it would just be better to try and beat the main boss to get early out and even get a little bit extra loot instead because at that point you should be able to beat them easy with your knowledge about their behavior or having enough extra damage to get them in 1 - 5 hits
if you escape you don't get the faith loss you get for dying
To me it’s like don’t starve combined with binding of Isaac
I think it draws inspiration from a lot of places. It’s cool to see them build on everything that’s come before
Yeah, I did a lot of things wrong when I started. Glad I watched this
My cult follower Alex Jones keeps making me pull pranks on Tim Pool. He’s always like “hey! It’d be hilarious if Tim pool ate poop.”
You can also sleep to pass the night. Originally, this was just in Penitence Mode, but the Sins of the Flesh update allows you to build the Leader's Tent to pass the night. Me? I use the night to clean up the area & collect the resources they've collected.
the eat something a day to get a heart is op if you have a lot of time
I prefer to prioritize "Omnipotence" over "Hunger." Once the Bishops of the Old Faith start attacking your followers, you might need to run home to protect them when they get sick or hungry. I can always find blue hearts on a crusade.
I was skeptical about this game, but I caved in and bought it! No regreata!

If you need bones for rituals, the sword tiles on your crusades will allow you to fight the most enemies and increase your bone drops, you can also sacrifice followers for a couple. Later missionary tiers can allow you to automate bone acquisition if your followers are high enough level.

Offering statues are absolutely broken. You can have more than one, and you can get any resource from them, and it's an okay amount.
If you purchase the white cloak with red skull it will give you all 4 tarot cards at the beginning of the crusade.
Actually, it doesn't matter what you eat as long as you don't eat the grass meal, I believe it makes you throw up and doesn't give you the "armour" heart, but you lose some HP instead. Not sure if it's been already said in the comments :D

My biggest problem in this game is I never seem to have enough poop for fertilizer. It's like I build the outhouse, and my followers just stop pooping. Yes, I know there are the compost things, but those just don't make enough.
5:49 It actually does matter what meal you eat.
