I think most of these reviewers missed this little detail. I see EW as a throwback to this era. These games were a bit clumsy even back then and even with bigger budgets. These are not meant to be Devil May Cry animation cancel slashers. Still, I wouldn't buy it for 50 bucks either. I would recommend Binary Domain until EW goes on sale
Have been playing it for a few hours and honestly have to say after months of trying to find an interesting game this definitely made the cut. Really enjoyable experience so far!
Late 1800s- early 1900s industrial revolution era steampunk with magic and monsters is some of my favorite settings. This, Arcanum, and Grim Dawn are great if anybody has more recs for games or books set in these kind of worlds I'd love to hear them!
Xbox/PS2 had a game named Deathwatch in this genre as well, was a fun enough game. Weird West is a bit more traditional but has its fair share of supernatural stuff, and Hard West is an excellent XCOM style game in the genre. If you are a TTRPG afficinado Deadlands is this same setting, very well done.
I wrote a book called The Magician's Sin that is set in an alternate 1930s featuring magic, monsters, mobsters, and an anti-hero with a heart of gold if that sounds interesting to you!
There's the miniatures game (40k-like) named Malifaux. Besides the miniatures game, they have a free podcast with stories called Breadside Broadcast. There the Tabletop RPG called Deadlands. Also the X-com-like video game Hard West.
@cescfabregas9000 It's £33 on CD keys. I've just tried it on my PS5 and it looks absolutely horrendous. I've bought it for PC, wish I'd checked CD keys first.
That's because instead of actually trying on the story and making a good game they give you a god of war combat rip off with waves of enemies through the whole game instead of something original and fun happening besides killing waves of enemies
idk if anyone remembers that game on the ps2, Darkwatch, but it feels like its a spiritual successor/inspired by that game. At least, that's what I think of whenever I see this game lol
This game knows what it is and never takes itself more seriously then it should. I'm having blast with it and I HIGHLY recommended to fans of action-brawlers (actually very similar to god of war, just with minimal story, but also no bloat).

Funnily enough, Mules are not always sterile. I did look it up in order to make a story about a Mul MC (from DarkSun, whose name is based on that animal, and whose reproductive ability reads as "sterile." For that exact presumption, which I also held up to the point I researched the topic) There have been several - though still rarer to note - cases of female mules bearing young. Perhaps not to other mules, but that would be the key. They definitely can't breed with each other, because of too many genetic commonalities.

I just picked this up on the Steam holiday sale and played the first couple hours. So far, I am absolutely loving this one. It feels like a 360 game in the best possible way. No open world, no micro transactions, really nothing about modern gaming that's annoying. The combat is also extremely fun so far. This is exactly the kind of game I've been looking for, and I actually am having more fun with it than Ragnarok.
I was wondering whats with all these high prices of AA or even indie games lately. 50 dollars for game like this one? 40 for another indie pixel platformer, when there are hundreds of them already? Are they crazy?
The name of that game was Six Guns, developed by Gameloft back in 2011, originally for iOS devices. One of my most favorite games on iOS before cloud gaming was a thing, lol!!! This game really gives me that vibe but obviously with better graphics and texture quality. Only gripe on this one, is the 30fps mode, game should be able to run @ 4K60 on Series X and PS5 and 1440p maybe at even 120fps, I’d settle for 4K60 though.
I took a break from God of War to play Evil West and its excellent ,..I usually play many games at once a few hours of each ,im enjoying A Plagues Tale Requiem, Gotham Knights, New Tales Borderlands, Modern Warfare 2 Campaign, The Devil in me and of course God of War Ragnarok and now Evil West, last pre-order to pick up is Callisto Protocol next week which looks grear,..I'm very much enjoying each game and their unique gameplay and recommended Evil West as a purchase
Skill Up said the 3D audio was great and couldn’t believe he said that. Sometimes there is just way to much going on to use audio to your advantage. If there’s two enemies, then yes it helps but when there’s 10 enemies, it’s impossible to use it to your advantage. Audio should’ve been more pronounced when someone’s started an attack from behind. The arrows don’t help either

This used to be on a mobile game in iPhone 4s era but with a different developer. Very similar characters and monsters
What was it called?
The name of that game was Six Guns, developed by Gameloft back in 2011, originally for iOS devices. One of my most favorite games on iOS before cloud gaming was a thing, lol!!! This game really gives me that vibe but obviously with better graphics and texture quality. Only gripe on this one, is the 30fps mode, game should be able to run @ 4K60 on Series X and PS5 and 1440p maybe at even 120fps, I’d settle for 4K60 though.
@@ZByrdman89 No it isn't. Like I said the character is exactly the same and the monsters are very similar.
@@Demonmatamon I forgot as it is not available anymore on Applestore.
“No. Simply no.”
Can someone explain this to me? The review seemed reasonably positive, so what’s with that title?
Basically he said the game is fun, but has a lot of problems and it doesn't justify the $60 AAA price point when it's not a triple AAA polished game.
Game looks really fun. Might be something I pick up after I play GOW. Thanks for the quality review.
Finally, thank you Karak!
you bet
I’m trying to hold off and buying any new games until I get myself a PS5, but this game looks like something that is right up my alley that I’d enjoy.
Just get it,it runs smoothly on all platforms.i know I purchased all of them.
I’m still playing it with my brother on Hard. I wasn’t sure about it but I saw the RUclipsrs gameplay release the day before launch. I had to buy it.
What's with the "No. Simply No" in the title yet "Wait for sale" in the video? Am I missing a jake?
What's weird in the preview he actually seemed to really like the game so wtf happend?
