I absolutely love this era. Everything was so grand and elegant.
Victorian Homes we're so spacious and Elegant. Quality furnishings craftmanship was understood💐
I loved the Chopin played to accompany these photos.
I love everything Victorian...:)
Something about this era
I recognize a few of these. The large parlors and dining rooms were in the Congress Hall and Grand Union hotels in Saratoga, NY. At 5:24 the guy sitting at a desk is Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Theodore Roosevelt. The two pics right after Teddy are the library and staircase at Mark Twain's house in Hartford, CT. I think one or two might be in the White House back when it went all Victorian up in there.
Stunning. I would love to be able to decorate like that today.
Oh!!! The Chandelier's picture. I'm loving this.
Great collection of photos. Thanks for sharing.
Everything was a canvas for art. The walls, ceilings and floors were all decorated with patterns and images. The surfaces of functional objects as well. Nothing was left plain. Nature was a major theme of this art. Wood was rarely painted and large plants helped bring nature into formal spaces. It was truly an age of art appreciation.
Absolutely beautiful!
MAGNIFIQUE. merci.

It was an era where they do loved their chairs.

Wow! Historic. Beautiful. 4:23 bed frame oh my. Cozy. 5:19 long curtains pulled back with sheers I need to do this for my home. Chandeliers oh my Fabulous video you
The image with the 3 children in the store is from the late 1920's, early 1930's!
Their home decoration really isn't too far different from ours right now.
Rare to find interior photos ....period. So few exists and even fewer exists with people in the interior rooms. Thank you for showing us a glimpse of what life was like in the Victorian era. 3:56 same mahogany arches in my 1840 Queen Anne....amazing find! 5:13 the man sitting appears to be post mortem .... any thoughts.
I have an 1850s Mahogany chest of drawers, strange to think it came from way back then.
BEAUTIFUL SALOON---BUT WHERE IS THE BATHROOM?....BATHTUB...SHOWER...
I CAN´T LIVE WITHOUT WATEEEEEERR!!!!!!
Loli Damien there was an image with a bathroom,
These are the interiors in which the people who perished in the Titanic's sinking lived their lives.
They sure had a thing for dollies back then.
Goes a little to fast you can't see everything .might have chose different music.other than that it's great.
Tenho fascínio pela Época Vitoriana.
Of course these are homes of the wealthy. I'd like to see how the 'other half' lived too. Maybe you have vids of that but I haven't seen them yet.
I think the other half cluttered their homes with excess stuff aswell! it was the order of the day. maybe even more so
what's the name of the song?
Nothing understated about the Vicky era.
What is it that makes that era so creepy???
The love for the macabre. The dark colours, especially black.
3:26 notice those two dolls peaking in the bottom?
Before I die I need to have to impressive candelabras perched on the banisters of a winding huge staircase. First I need a huge staircase. Never going to happen
Never say never wishing is believing and believing is reality. I always wanted a stone house and thirty years later ....stone Victorian castle.
Easy to create fire hazards.
Creepy
Beautiful
