@CatBuchanan it is! She's knows what she's doing and it's evil that she wants him to have that on his record, even a contact record, of him stalking her for what he did, especially given the fact she offered to pose! Just further shows her being an antagonist.
I once lived in a neighborhood that had a home owners association and I had a neighbor that stuck her nose in everybody else’s business. She knew how to weaponize the HOA against her neighbors and for some reason the HOA was more than happy to let her use them as a weapon. It was a living nightmare. I now live in a non home owners association neighborhood on a private street where all of us neighbors mind our own business. What a Blessing!Thank God!
as a german citizen my view of a HOA is that it is the antithesis to the american values of individualtiy. It is kinda funny, if you think about it. PS: Love your channel and what you do. Greetings from a german vet. :-)
@@jesusbauer8861 The original intent of HOAs were to ensure neighborhoods had a sense of community and maintained value by contributing to the neighborhoods' upkeep. The downside being Karens have weaponized HOAs into their personal fiefdoms.
I'm having trouble with what these cops are doing , he didn't break any law, it seems to me that she's the one that needs to be reminded about the law.
Nope, you misread the situation. Cop didn't go do some research to see if he was RIGHT on the law. Cop ADMITTED his alarm was dispelled, and he did not think he was stalking her. He stated he was going to go back to his car and SEARCH through some OTHER codes, to SEE if he could find one that gave him reasonable suspicion, so he could ID him. Cop is a shitbag.
@milehighgambler no, he isn't. He LITERALLY told the guy he didn't think he had broken the law, but was going back to his cruiser to see if he could FIND something to charge him with sonde could get his ID. He was trying to GET the ID for the crazy rabbit laby.
I think he had the wits to be aware that he had to compensate for the half-wit superior who was there with him. Maybe it was just them doing training scenario. That got me me thinking, auditors seem to have it fairly good...but they do have to go out and get it, and it can be hit or miss...right? So, what happens when people start realizing that they can run plays on them just like it's on the ball field back in grade school. You don't even have to be good, because they can't really kick you off the team, or not let you play...and boom, someone to make a call, file a complaint, bait them in the front yard...one person calls, one person offers up some suspicious behaviour or says something a little cryptic, then shut it down like zip. Really, I am sure that half the cops around here would probably be baited like that easy breezy. Lawsuits lawsuits, clean them CAFR's out. It's wealth distribution time!
My step-dad probably went about that time ago and I can tell you he's like the stereotypical "things aren't like the old days with those stupid cameras they make em wear and all that 'sensitivity training' 🙄 thry have to do now, what happened to just arresting people?" And you have to think "well dude you'd have no license and 3 strikes of DUIs if it was just as simple as arresting people who commit crimes" 🙄
I've known and interacted with some ladies who were kind of like this, and they were suffering from paranoid delusions/schizophrenia. For the most part they were fine and kept to themselves as long as they were on their meds. One of them worked for us in the apartment building helping with cleaning and she was actually pretty nice. But there were times when you knew something wasn't right because she'd complain about the people outside her door yelling at her, calling her names, etc. We'd review the hallway footage and there was nobody there except her sometimes opening her door to yell out at the ghosts in her head to shut up. That's when we knew she had issues... but honestly, if you get to know someone like that when they're in a right frame of mind, it helps. But if you know someone is like that and then antagonize them (maybe by going by and snapping photos), yeah, it'll set off all the paranoia alarms, no matter how many meds they're on. Some folks are just wired oddly.
@@ytmadpoo do you realize not everyone who says X has Y thing either right? i could say i've been gang stalked but i've never been dianosis of schizophrenia in my entire life or delusions people can be completely sober and still have delusions that doesn't mean they got X things either you can't apply everything to all of those ladies. they have different bodies different brains and different hormones and differenet diets
I've seen a few videos of genuinely good guy cops, but honestly, I think this guy is the best I have ever seen. He was honest and straight forward. Most importantly in my opinion, he was humble. He did not act as if he knew everything and was the ultimate arbiter of law. He was humble enough to admit he needed to look up the codes and confirm he was doing his job properly. Honestly it's kind of sad how incredibly impressive it seems to be when an officer simply acts like a reasonable, honest, humble, and respectful human being. It should be the standard for people who are accepted into that role. But this guy is awesome for being a good person, sticking to his morals, and serving as an awesome example for what it means to serve the public.
@@Donaleigh222 Yeah I don't think there'd be any chance of her actually getting that but I think the cop new it wasn't an argument worth having with someone so thick headed
I disagree with ATA’s rating on the cops. I understand his point on the knowledge, but I think that is more on training provided than on officers since it seems that so many don’t understand. The fact that the officer was willing to professionally respect rights and research to come to correct outcome when unsure, is an A (B+ at lowest) in my book. We see so many on here that immediately escalate in this situation and then claim obstruction.
Brayden was the only one who tried to deescalate anything by explaining the law to the two keystone cops. The cops needed to descalate the paranoid rabbit lady that she had no basis, even if everything she said was true, for a charge of stalking, and that they were not going to get Ginger beards name for her, and if she wanted further legal advice, consult an attorney.
Agreed but his bank robber explanation has some holes hahaha . It was absurd to correlate the two crimes with tge evidence given . I would have asked him if he seen cameras in the area as if he maybe filming a scene or did he see him walking towards or away from the bank haha there was a lot left in the wind in a argument for reasonable suspicion of a crime lmao
At the same time the citizen could have diffused most of the situation by giving his name. Fine dont answer questions but asking a person's name is entirely reasonable. Trooper was only successful cause the guy started answering simple questions.
@@howebrad4601 He's under no obligation to hand his personal info to a crazy woman who sees imaginary stalkers behind every tree. I wouldn't give my info either.
@@howebrad4601 false. The citizen is within his rights to not identify if no crime has been committed. He spoke way too much because he didn't want to go to jail. These cops believed the woman and then had to get the guys story to see if he was innocent. That's not how this is supposed to work.
Im so proud of Officer Roberts. He is exactly the kind of officer that I want working in my community. He took the time to get it right. Fair, honest, a true hero. Well done, sir. You have my respect.
@kprice8131 any officer nowadays who is willing to uphold the constitution is a hero to me, my cause as a US soldier, and my fallen brothers and sister. He is a hero. You need to quit holding that title to some unrealistic meaning.
@@LawyeringTuna Everything that you just described - fair, honest, and taking the time to get it right - is the bare minimum of what we should, as American tax payers, be able to expect from our police officers. When we water down those expectations, we create a situation where the cops are causing just as many problems as they are supposed to be preventing (just look at any democratic run city across the country for an example). We've become so used to seeing police officers abuse their authority that we feel the need to pat them on the back and sing their praises when they simply do their jobs, in spite of the fact that this is what they signed up for when they applied for that job. It is literally in the job description. But having said that, I don't consider those who join the military to be heroes, either. Unless you're drafted, what you did is what you signed up to do... no offense. I believe that we're on the same side, and I hope that you'll rethink your opinion on exactly what makes a hero, because it is so much more than we pretend it to be now.
That’s immediately what I thought. One asshole neighbor is common, two is pretty unlikely, but when all your neighbors are assholes you need to look inwards.
The most egregious part is when the officers assert that "you must answer our questions because we are investigating you" or "now you are detained so you must answer questions". Or even "you are not arrested so you cannot plead the 5th", as if you only have the right to remain silent once you are arrested? This wasn't even about trying to I.D. him. They were asking "who is your friend?" and asserting that he has to tell them. A real bad start.
The funny part is that Miranda rights enter the picture when you are in police custody and being asked questions. Saying "you are detained" is the definition of being put in police custody.
Yeh I agree - giving both officers the same grade is kinda CRAZEE!!! Not often I disagree with @auditthaudit.... but he got it wrong this time. Theres NO WAY both Cops dealt with this situation in equal measure...!!! The Trooper 'saved' the other Cop from arresting the guy...! Cuz he was likely gonna go all in.....
Yeah I’ve known people like her… always has a “stalker”, creates a wake of chaos wherever they go and always seems to become enemies with everyone around them.
Had one call the cops on me because me & a friend parked in front of her house every day. He gave me a ride home. “Her house” was across the street from my house. We’d pull up, finish our conversation then I’d get out of the car. Even the cop rolled his eyes over the situation.
@@madtabby66 Why would she call the cops if the car was outside your house? And if it wasn't outside your house, then maybe you have too many cars & she sees that as your problem, not hers.
To be fair he did admit to blacklisting her. He made her name dirt to her neighbours. So it's quit likely some other local social justice warriors joined in. She may have committed acts he didn't agree with but he probably didn't fact check. Were the rabbits being rescued from being sold in the shop as live pet feed? Did he even check! Where's any proof of his claims? I've watched far too many true crime stuff to take him at face value. Serial killers can on the spot adlib similar emotionally manipulative stories to elicit community wide support. I'd like him to be the hero he seems. But where is the fact checking?
This goes to show how the auditing community has greatly helped our nation over the years through their educational videos. 10 years ago I didn’t know a thing about how to conduct myself with government or laws.
Is there any proof she did? He could've just made that up. If he's rescuing them then what does he do with them? If the pet shop is selling the rabbits as live pet food then sorry but setting them free may be preferable, if nobody will take them.

She does need to go back to school at best get some common sense. Gang stalking by definition is literally usually someone, claiming they're being followed, harassed and stalked by a large group of people, 3 separate people isn't a large group, a large is 10 to 15 plus people follwing you. She also needs mental, physical, and emotion help, therapy may do her justice as she's falsely accusing people, she's making nonsensical claims, amd she did infact lie in the body camera footage several times. So she is liable for lying.

Wow! An intelligent, reasonable cop. I admire that your channel shows police doing there jobs professionally. It is so common that they, police do not, and you generally expose their misbehavior. Your channel is a great public service
Trooper Roberts should have gotten an A. He did exactly what I want every cop to do--investigate the situation and confirm their understanding of the law before taking action.
Agreed. I don't expect cops to know every law. Lawyers and judges don't know every law and frequently have to reference previous trials when working. I do however expect that when a cop is being challenged on something they don't know, they educate themselves and make sure they get the proper outcome so they don't start violating civilian's rights'. Which is exactly what Roberts did.
Agreed completely. There are so many laws on the book that it is impossible to know them all. The officer specifically said the stalking statute MAY provide reasonable articulable suspicion of a crime to force the id, BUT he needs to verify first. This is a perfect and well reasoned way to work on the situation.
It’s very obvious that there’s an incredible amount of effort that goes into producing these videos. The research into case law is thorough and exhaustive. Brilliant work. I’ve never set foot in any law school, but I might be ready for the bar exam just from watching these videos! Much obliged, sir.👍
There is definitely something that lady is doing that is shady, she seems paranoid. Taking pics from a public street isn’t a crime at all. Otherwise they’d have to ban those Google camera vans from taking videos for their maps app.
It might not be illegal but it's weird as fuck. Why would you take pictures of people who you aren't even friends with in public if they aren't doing anything wrong?
That was the BEST interaction I've seen posted on your channel so far. We need more of THIS in policing. I'd want an Officer Roberts in my own police department.
State Cop, A+. Local cop, C. I cannot imagine how that interaction could have gone better with the state cop. On the other hand, it seems like the local cop is maybe 1 of 3? There is a reason that training for state is longer and harder. Why not say this is a perfect example of a vet cop teaching the rookie how to handle the situation?
Exactly and promoting this as a good example is only going to lead to more people trying to talk their way out of an investigation instead of remaining silent.
Cop is absolutely amazing. I generally am a huge cop hater but this cop restores some of my faith. He needs an immediate raise and promotion. Thumbs up 5 stars officer
besides the fact that he went back to the cruiser, not to look up what constitutes Staking, but to find a law that would compel the citizen to identify himself. If he would have done that when he arrived, he would have seen right away that he had no leg to stand on.
Fun fact he IS doing His Job correctly and everybody stands for a Promotion 😂 sorry dont understand that in detail because here in Europe our police officers are Well trained and for 3 years
To offer some context after having lived in the area for several years, setting rabbits free poses a couple of concerns: -rabbits mutiply quickly and can be a pest to the staple industry of southeast Idaho of farming; and, -given the presence of predators like coyotes and mountain lions, releasing a domesticated rabbit to the wild is not a kindness, but closer to a death sentence.
- they multiply so fast and are a great snack for said predators, they come more into the neighborhoods more. Then cats and small dogs are free game, too. Lots of issues with it
As a former vet tech.. Freeing _any_ domesticated animal is just pure cruelty, they are not necessarily able to thrive in the wild. Dying of hunger is slow, painful death; exposure to elements or painful infections aren’t cool either. Supplying snacks to predators is just immoral, in many ways. Introducing non-native animals can easily throw off ecological balance. If you take on another soul, you are accountable for it. Period.
He only invoked it when asked his identity and the identity of his friend. Otherwise he was happy to explain what happened because he is obviously innocent of any crime.
Crazy that the cop explicitly said that the conversation dispelled his suspicions and then instantly flipped and tried to articulate reasonable suspicion in order to get ID.
It's so painful to watch cops that have no idea what the law is. "She has a reasonable expectation of privacy on her property" .. good lord. As soon as she said the words "gang stalking" they should have known she was a schizophrenic.
@@seeya205That and when she said "what I need you to do..." Cop should said "I investigate crimes. I don't do, "what you need me to do" lol. What is the crime you are reporting again?"
In Idaho you do. Not in your front yard of course if it's open and in plain view of the public. But, Idaho takes privacy laws very seriously and are much more stringent than the rest of the country. Let's say a neighbor has a surveillance camera facing your front house, and let's say you have a bedroom with a window on the front of your house. Your neighbor can be civilly and criminally prosecuted for video taping the bedroom. As Idaho considers that a violation of privacy. Even though it has a window on the front of the house, that can be seen from public.
I really like this cop. Does his job, doesn't push too hard, and is respectfully trying to convince him to give up his name. This is how cops should move!
Trooper is a term used by most US State Police agencies, with the exceptions of California and New Mexico. Technically, Trooper is a rank but is often used ubiquitously for any State Police.
This video should be used religiously as a training/refresher video for all officers everywhere. Kudos to both the officer & the animal rescuer for a calm, cool-headed interaction.
Cop : I love that it dispellls any notion that you were taking pictures of women. Dude it doesn't matter if he was taking pictures of every woman outside of their house in the whole neighborhood. He was on a PUBLIC sidewalk and they were in PUBLIC view.
not true if the complainant articulates that the conduct is repetitive and meets the elements of criminal harassment or stalking for instance….then photography COULD be a violation of a court order or an element of a larger pattern of harassment. No officer can know every word of every code….as such I thought the trooper did excellent… The city officer on the other hand in my opinion was aggressive. In fact at the beginning of the video based on the woman’s manner of speech I thought she was perhaps an “off duty” officer who was invoking some event to compel responding officers to arrest the bike guy. “Braden” on the OTHER hand was far too talkative and as others have pointed out….when complemented immediately engaged in lengthy discussion and explanation that in many other encounters would have likely provided officers additional facts to support “forced ID” or even arrest. Filming is constitutionally protected….but time/place and manner combined with public forum doctrine governs what is and is NOT permissible….here there’s an additional overlay of a complaint of “harassment” that while I think was NOT met…..CERTAINLY justified the officers brief detention. I highly encourage anyone who has contact with law enforcement to simply ZIP it…..and if you feel you’re in the right to MAYBE simply briefly comment that you had ZERO ill will or intent. “Braden’s” comment to his desire to “blacklist” “Barbara” could have been a potential liability and exposure …..
To be fair he did a really good job of explaining what his reasonable articulable suspicion was. Edit: seriously I'm starting to think most of y'all responding to my comment did not watch the video. The suspected crime was stalking. If he hadn't talked to the guy he wouldn't have been doing his due diligence. He didn't arrest the guy when he didnt ID. His suspicion was dispelled after a conversation. If you genuinely want to support the auditing community don't be an apologist.
There is some expectations of privacy on your private property. This has been explained in other ATA video. Something to do with imminent domain. Do some research but repetitive actions could result in arrest.
That sigh of "O M G" from the second officer after talking to that lady on the phone (23:03). Sums her up perfectly based on the whole interaction. 😆 Props to the him for handling it really professionally despite his limited understanding of the statutes involved.
Right away this lady is off her rocker to say she feeds "stray" squirrels like they're not wild animals. Also its probably better to surrender the cats to a reputable shelter so they can be adopted, instead of letting them roam the neighborhood as outdoor cats and constantly feeding them. She already gets an F from me for how she treats animals.
@@OverDriveah She's probably taking the rabbits from a shelter and releasing them, but it sounded like the cats were already strays. I've dealt with a crazy lady that fed squirrels, worst part was that crazy lady lived in my house. I’d give Roberts a solid “A.” The other guy gets a “D.” Would be an “F” except that he shut up and let Roberts take over and get the encounter back on track.
Whatever grade he'd been given, it would need to be lowered one whole letter grade for saying he does not have a supervisor when told one would be requested if ID was demanded. That kind of obfuscation is detrimental to trust.
The law is settled. Citizens don’t need to prove anything. Government needs to prove guilt of a crime beyond a reasonable doubt. This guy needs to NOT TALK.
@@GoErikTheRed I believe the standard for POs is a "preponderance of the evidence." There doesn't need to be a crime for a PO, but consequently the police don't have any business in helping an individual to file one. If she wants to do so she has to find his ID herself.
Every attorney I’ve ever heard address this issue has said “don’t talk to the police”. If you are arrested nothing you can say will improve your situation.
Because the cops did a few things. For starters one played the bad cop , While the other the good cop. And the good cop kept acting like he was on his side. He did that so he'd lower his guard. He also kept telling him how knowledgeable he was about his rights. Which stroked the bike guy's pride to where he felt more comfortable giving up more information. Cop used Jedi mind tricks and he fell for them.
I would have to say that was the best cop I've seen in a long time all he had to do was pull up the stalking statute and he would see that he doesn't have any probable cause
He doesn't have to incriminate himself but that doesnt mean he isn't guilty. I would have went to the woman for what evidence she had on this guy including the page he was posting this on and what the content of that actual page was. If it was actual rabits he was concerned about, thats one thing he's doing this sketchy behavior in good faith. But if he's doing it for his own immature or sick reasons to try and upset and cause alarm to this woman. Examples being vexatious rumors, cyberbullying, cyberstalking. If this guy has made 20 profiles to cyberstalk and dox this person and has now resorted to paying her litte visits in real life, that would justify charging him with stalking. The police also have the right to investigate his website or perhaps plethora and corroboration between him the user and him now the person at her house. He can keep his 4th and 5th ammendment rights, 100%. Im a constitutionalist too. But that doesnt mean criminals shouldn't be exposed and brought to justice.
They had a report but a report from a single person does not necessarily constitute reasonable suspicion. Just because someone called the cops and claimed something happened doesn't immediately give rise to reasonable suspicion even what she was saying that claimed alleged illegal activity was didn't allege that he had actually committed any crimes as ATA lays out in his analysis of reasonable suspicion for this event

So to that point yes but we also don't know the whole story and what all else went on with other people before this she could be the whole problem or they could who really knows.
Unfair to lump Roberts in with the other cop. Roberts had more knowledge, ability to show respect, and humility to say he didn't fully know the code and needed to go back to his car to confirm for sure. The other cop wasn't a complete dick like many are, but he was clearly a notch below Roberts.
Yeah, I think he wanted the ID so the woman's complaint could get shot down when she filed for the protective order, rather than the cops having to make the judgement call that he wasn't dangerous themselves (which would look REAL bad if he did turn out to be a stalker). I don't like that they tried to compel him to identify himself when he didn't have to... But I understand their motivations
The worst crime of this video is that woman's awful yard - I'm sure she's quite the respected member of the community. Imagine having that mess next door.

I once lived in a neighborhood that had a home owners association and I had a neighbor that stuck her nose in everybody else’s business. Nope, you misread the situation. Cop didn't go do some research to see if he was RIGHT on the law. Cop ADMITTED his alarm was dispelled, and he did not think he was stalking her.

It's a real this though.. Have you ever heard of Tory Smith?

The most egregious part is when the officers assert that "you must answer our questions because we are investigating you" or "now you are detained so you must answer questions". To offer some context after having lived in the area for several years, setting rabbits free poses a couple of concerns:
-rabbits mutiply quickly and can be a pest to the staple industry of southeast Idaho of farming; and,
-given the presence of predators like coyotes and mountain lions, releasing a domesticated rabbit to the wild is not a kindness, but closer to a death sentence.

Introducing non-native animals can easily throw off ecological balance. If you take on another soul, you are accountable for it. Period.

If youre out in your yard anybody can legally take pictures of you.
I think they should have known that she is the problem when she said that all her neighbors were a-holes. No, you are the a-hole neighbor, lady!
You have to carry out any investigation impartially. Listen to both parties and then decide.
What you suggested is called profiling.
@@seeya205That and when she said "what I need you to do..."
Cop should said "I investigate crimes.

“Im not a thin blue line guy” first time hearing that! Amazing
No officer can know every word of every code….as such I thought the trooper did excellent…
The city officer on the other hand in my opinion was aggressive.

What’s hilarious is feeding wild animals is illegal in many states, so admitting to feeding squirrels might actually open her up to a citation.

@@OverDriveah She's probably taking the rabbits from a shelter and releasing them, but it sounded like the cats were already strays.
Unless I’m mistaken aren’t protection orders treated differently? The government doesn’t need to prove anything in order to grant one?
@@GoErikTheRed I believe the standard for POs is a "preponderance of the evidence." There doesn't need to be a crime for a PO, but consequently the police don't have any business in helping an individual to file one. If she wants to do so she has to find his ID herself.

What right did he invoke? Don't say the 5th, because he opened up like a book and answered every question from the police.
I would have to say that was the best cop I've seen in a long time all he had to do was pull up the stalking statute and he would see that he doesn't have any probable cause
Cop didn't have reasonable suspicion. He had suspicions but not reasonable suspicion
