I am not really a Benigni fan, and his movies after La vita è bella were actual flops, but 1) some in Europe argued he only won an Oscar thanks to the US soldier "saving" everybody at the end of the film (the Russians liberated many camps, btw); 2) I must assume you think the US is the centre of the world, and Hollywood its El Dorado. Benigni's been reading the Divine Comedy (not the videogame, the actual poem) on Italian TV ever since, and like it or not he's been sort of an influential icon in Italian pop culture. Finally, I would not be so sure that after so many films as a comedian, and a communist at that, back in the 70s and 80s, in his middle age he would be so interested in more Hollywood. So, as it happened with Falco for music, why do you act like the rest of the world just doesn't exist?
Well, she literally made her bed and had to sleep in it by marrying the meh director from Finland... BTW Cutthroat Island ruined one of my once-favorite actors' career too. Matthew Modine.

I answered your question in the original comment and somehow after 20 minutes you still dont get it lmao. Gonna block you cause I'm not your psychologist. But dont forget to take your meds this morning. Bye :p
"Crash" should have never won best picture to begin with. It was another case of Hollywood wanting to pat themselves on the back because "we did something cool." As for Halle Berry, I'm sorry but she should have never won Best Actress over Sissy Spacek. I also find it amusing you want to bash Christopher Walken, but don't mention Nicholas Cage.
What about Alicia Vikander? She's a good actress, but her films post-Oscar have all been critical/financial flops (e.g., Submergence, Jason Bourne, The Light Between Oceans, Euphoria, Tulip Fever, and possible Tomb Raider)
While Oscar winners have always had problems landing quality work where films are concerned, people also need to remember (and above all understand) that the movie industry of today's world is not the way it was 50 years ago.
While TV sci-fi in the 90s wasn't the kind of thing that could reboot an actor's career, I thought Louise Fletcher was amazing as Kai Winn in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She was the kind of smug, sanctimonious villain that I loved to hate.
I think that some of these are unfair. I mean, Gena Davis followed up The Accidental Tourist with Thelma and Louise and Major League. It wasn't until she did Cutthrought Island that things went south.
1 year since Emma Stone won: She only had Battle Of The Sexes, which despite dissapointing on Box Office was another opportunity for her to shine and now in 2018 she will work along Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster), she's doing good.
Wasn't there a countdown like this the other day? I swear they just use the same lists, swap some things around and put a new name on it. Or am I alone in thinking this?
I think the whole list is confusing to me. When actors get older they tend to start working in movies the general public know little about and aren't blockbusters. Reviewers and the general public complain about these actors, as well as others, not acting in a while, but if you look at their IMDb page or their Wikipedia list, some are working harder than they did when they were popular. This list, to me, meant a couple of bad movies before they did independent movies or those other such types. To me this list just meant "actors in movies no longer advertised well."
*It's incredibly hard not to discuss Mira Sorvino's post-Oscar career and her struggles without bringing the Harvey Weinstein factor in to the equation. *Cuba Gooding Jr. admitted that he didn't take Cameron Crowe's advice to heart, when he told him to always work for the best directors available. Gooding on that end, pretty much took his Oscar success for granted and took on roles that seemed to be for the quick paycheck (call it a case of quantity over quality") like "Boat Trip" and "Snow Dogs". *The thing with Whoopi Goldberg is that when you get right down to it, she was always really more of a "personality" than an out and out actress. That isn't to say that Whoopi isn't a great actress in her own right. What I'm saying is that when your somebody who has such a large and distinctive personality (especially for black women) like Whoopi Goldberg, it can be tricky to find the right vehicle as they get older. You can argue that Mo'Nique would've had the same problem (i.e. a female black Oscar winner who was really more of a personality than an actress) had she not in effect, got blackballed. *Kim Basinger's post-Oscar struggles were quite simple to understand. She was always an actress whose main calling card was her beauty and sex appeal. Unfortunately, if you're more known for your good looks and for being a sex symbol, that inevitably is going to have short-self life. I don't think that Kim really had the range or drive to want to keep herself on the A-list as she got older. You combine that with her overall poor selection of film roles and her much publicized financial and marital issues and her struggles with anxiety and mental illness, and it was only a matter of time before she was a Hollywood outsider. *Halle Berry probably encountered from the same problem as Kim Basinger in that she was a woman who was mainly known for being very beautiful, and while she can be exceptionable in the right role and with the right director, she doesn't exactly have enough range to truly carry an entire movie on her shoulders. *Geena Davis seemed to make the misjudgment of hitching her wagon on her then-husband Renny Harlin, who really isn't known for be a renowned auteur given his track record. “Cutthroat Island” for all intents and purposes destroyed any perception she had as a leading lady. Also, you can make the argument that in order to work as a lead, she needed strong a co-star or ensemble (take for instance, "The Fly", "Thelma and Louise" and "A League of their Own"). Geena's height (being 6 ft) was also always going to be problematic, as it would be more appeasing to find an actor who is at least as tall than she is if she were to say do a romantic film.

Finally, I would not be so sure that after so many films as a comedian, and a communist at that, back in the 70s and 80s, in his middle age he would be so interested in more Hollywood. So, as it happened with Falco for music, why do you act like the rest of the world just doesn't exist?
Why is Whoopi hosting the View controversial?
KrustyFrank27 I think it was meant that Whoopi's views are controversial but I don't agree with that either.
For next video, do top 10 best post-razzie carreers.
Geena Davis had a lot of potential. Damn that Cutthroat Island!!!!
Well, she literally made her bed and had to sleep in it by marrying the meh director from Finland...
BTW Cutthroat Island ruined one of my once-favorite actors' career too. Matthew Modine.
This channels videos are so bad I stay subbed for a good morning laugh
Luna Lovegood Wow! Literally holy shit wow! I just said in the comment why I watch the video. And then you ask me why I watch the video. I literally want you to read the comment again. Then sit down and think about what I said. Go. Do it
Luna Lovegood Uhh are you really this dumb? You call that calling someone out? I'm not even a little bit mad. I'm just confused that you can be this clueless. I answered your question in the original comment and somehow after 20 minutes you still dont get it lmao. So since I have to spell it out for you cause you are obviously a special needs child here you go. I watch the videos to get a good laugh. Again. That was literally already answering your question. Gonna block you cause I'm not your psychologist. But dont forget to take your meds this morning. Bye :p
Luna Lovegood He like, literally wants you to like read his comment again. Like, literally I can't even.
so edgy m8
Greg Sloan If honesty is edgy then ok. I can live with that
Do "Top 10 Days of the Week" next!
I was surprised to not see Marisa Tomei on this list
She's gotten two more Oscar nominations since then and started in several good/hit films since then.
You could include Linda Hunt and F. Murray Abraham on this list.
Last time I was this early La La Land was still the best picture winner
look, i can copy and paste too!
0:28 what is name movie?
What about Luise Rainer, who won 2 Oscars back-to-back in the 1930s, but whose career in Hollywood only lasted 3 years.
How about a list of actresses careers ruined by Harvey Weinstein
I would personally put Louise Fletcher as number 2. Talk about one hit one wonder.
Where is Kevin Costner?
What has Mo'nique (from Precious......) been in lately since that film?
Brainstorm 1983 Louise Fletcher..good supporting role & very good movie.
Begnini in Italy is a legend !!!!WHO remember his role next to Tom Waits in Jim Jarmush "Down by Ław"
He was a good egg.
How is Nicholas Cage not number 1 here?!?!? Or even on the list at all?
That Paul Haggis clip was about scientology
Where the hell is Adrian Brody?!
Gotta be Sandra Bullock. What has she done since she won Oscar?
She was nominated for another Oscar
@@syria0110 oh she was? For what?
Catwoman scene is at 8:45 if you are curious
Where is f murray abraham?
What about Alicia Vikander?
She's a good actress, but her films post-Oscar have all been critical/financial flops (e.g., Submergence, Jason Bourne, The Light Between Oceans, Euphoria, Tulip Fever, and possible Tomb Raider)
Anyone know who is this girl voicing most of WatchMojo videos? anyone got her pic? or name? or anything :D i am curious
What about Hilary Swank? Haven't seen a good movie of hers since The Freedom Riders which was 10 years ago

Mira Sorvino had her career stoped by Harvey Weinstein...shame.
Thats a lie
@@charlottebuchanan3193 why do u say that? do think Weinstein is innocent?
Roses are Red,
Violets are Red,
I'm also red...
Nice video
Nice article
Helen Hunt has worked consistently since her Oscar win. Has gained subsequently nominations including an Supporting Actress nod for The Sessions.
Mira Sorvino was excellent in Summer of Sam
While Oscar winners have always had problems landing quality work where films are concerned, people also need to remember (and above all understand) that the movie industry of today's world is not the way it was 50 years ago.
Halle Berry was so good in the movie Losing Isaiah!...She was so good in that movie...
I think I'm the only guy who really liked Halle Berry in Catwoman.
While TV sci-fi in the 90s wasn't the kind of thing that could reboot an actor's career, I thought Louise Fletcher was amazing as Kai Winn in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She was the kind of smug, sanctimonious villain that I loved to hate.
So what you're saying is...Oscars don't mean shit. Already knew that.
Olga Valentova I don't think their saying that, since Oscars go to performances not careers...
I think that some of these are unfair. I mean, Gena Davis followed up The Accidental Tourist with Thelma and Louise and Major League. It wasn't until she did Cutthrought Island that things went south.
The Oscar Curse after winning an actor/actress award.
Krista Ross i hope not
1 year since Emma Stone won: She only had Battle Of The Sexes, which despite dissapointing on Box Office was another opportunity for her to shine and now in 2018 she will work along Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster), she's doing good.
Gooding, Jr. was great as OJ in the miniseries "The People vs OJ."
Hey Geena Davis from here, Cape Cod. Forget which town, on the East/Atlantic coast.
nicolas cage : his films from 2010s
I can't help but wonder how anyone can be judged as failing within a system which is itself a failure.
Mira Sorvino was good in Summer of Sam... A superb, underrated movie.
