I've got a box full of old plastic wheel sets that I was gonna throw away when I changed to all metal wheel sets, but will use them as a gondola or flatcar load. I save everything, even the pieces of metal when I drill something. I even save old plastic knuckle couplers when I replace them with Kadee couplers. I use the "Chopper" from Northwest Shore Lines. I also make my own iron oxide (rust) from 0000 steel wool & vinegar. I also make my own weathering powders from chalk. Cheers from eastern TN
Whilst you have done a great job, I feel that you have missed the target completely regarding the paint job. In real life, most scrap steel is painted; and much of it is galvanised or plated (and possibly then painted as well). So having a steel load that is 100% rusted is to miss the point completely. I worked in my cousin's scrap yard during holidays. I saw a lot of scrap steel :D .
the metal/plastic foils that tablets (medicinal ones) come in make excellent scrap "shiny" metal. Cut up pieces from a couple of different ones of those (even with the writing!) and sprinkle them on, with a bit of glue. Only a suggestion.
You can’t see me, but I’m giving you a standing ovation. Great work as always. A circuit board? Come on, so cool!
Cheers Mark! Haha yeah such a random item hey, as soon as I saw it I instantly thought of a scrao load 😂
