Hope " FIX Windows 10 Not Detecting Second Monitor " useful content.
dude was actually pissing me off cause of how slow he was going, but then i stuck it out cause maybe he could teach me something. then when he finally reached the end he just updated his driver which was not even my issue to begin with. thank you, for making a 3 minute video about updating your drivers. so much help, unbelievably useful. definitely did not even think once, twice, 3 times, four times, five times, maybe 10 times to update my drivers to get my computer to detect my 2nd monitor. theres a brightside to seeing your channel. if you can do it with videos like this, then that means even the average person can make a yt channel and be successful.
real omg he drive me crazy

Crossing my fingers that this will work for me. Thanks for making a very clear and easy-to-follow video!
I have 2 plugged into a vga extender and its rendering it as 1 singular moniter, i dont even have 2 in my display adapters, or my moniters. Please make a video explaining this
did you fix your lroblem
Thanks man. My computer was messed because my second monitor was just mirroring the first one and I was stressed because I didn’t know how to fix it but after I watched this video, it worked
Didn't fucking work for me, and I have the same fucking problem.
@@diggydowdiggydow right click on your home screen, click on display settings, scroll down to multiple displays, and change "duplicate these displays" to "extend these displays" (assuming your other monitor is detected)
@@ilyxtsy thanks for your reply.
What worked for me was clicking windows key / p (I think) and then that brought up a different display option, and I chose multiple displays (instead of mirror). Problem solved!
@@ilyxtsy what if its not detecting and youve done everything in ur power and its still not working

So I followed along to the tutorial until I realised I just forgot to plug in the hdmi cable :)

Lol same your comment is what made me check and sure enough I forgot to plug in mine too
Lol
Folks I fixed it.. the driver does need updating but not drone system settings.. right click on desktop somewhere and pick up your graphics settings.. mines AMD Radeon Software.. when you open that up there’s an option to update your driver and it started to update.. I was still getting “you driver is up to date” through systems settings and I was pulling my hair out but this worked... good luck
My drivers are up to date. 😑
Ok here's a fix: some PCs like mine have 1 HDMI port at the gpu and 1 at the motherboard. And for both monitors to work, they must both be plugged into the GPU, or both into the motherboard. not 1 in GPU and 1 in motherboard. Simple fix: get an adapter. So you have 1 regular HDMI cord from 1 monitor into the HDMI port on the GPU, and then the adapter will have HDMI on one end, and then a dp for example on the other end (if your other ports on the GPU is dp ports) (buy the adapter depending on which ports there are other than the HDMI on your GPU)
so i tried this fix, and it did not work for me
So if I only have 1 hdmi port in the gpu and 1 in the other spot what do I fo
Thank you!!!!
@@imtrillary glad i could help
to add onto this post: I have 1 HDMI, 1 DP and 1 DVI port. Since my HDMI port is occupied by my monitor (connected to my desktop), I want to have an additional screen (42" TV) for watching films and lectures, so I use either the DVI or DP port and use an adapter e.g HDMI to DP. Anyway, thank you for the fix , LemonStrafe. :)
I hope this helps someone that was struggling.
I have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 graphics card in my Asus. I have 1 monitor plugged in to (HDMI) at graphics card port (works great). Now I have another monitor (ASUS VG245HY) that I want to use as 2nd monitor. I have plugged it into the back of the Asus desktop in the only remaining HDMI (at the top/back of the machine) = the PC's will not recognize the 2nd monitor. Now I noticed on your video that your 'Display Adapters' includes "Intel (R) UHD 620". Mine only displays NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (I have updated those drivers and they are good). What am I missing to get this 2 monitor to be recognized?
UPDATE: I just bought a HDMI splitter, solved. :)
my screen was working but then pc had a crash and it never worked again
sadly this did not help
such a good video that it didnt work atall :)
not to mention how unbearably slow you are even on 2x speed.
So I did all of this and it still won’t detect any other ideas?
I had the same problem and tried to download but it said it had the latest version and so nothing new to download and so I'm still getting the same "can't detect" that you showed at the start... any suggestions??? :)
same
this doesnt work for me it just says "The best drivers for your computer are already installed" and i still have the problem
same imma kms i have bought so many different cables and nothing ):
Have u found a way yet
What a bunch of stupid comments. This is not solution every idiot knows to have drivers up to date. Make video where windows not detecting second monitor but can project on any one of them separately with drivers up to date. It can even Even project common resolution on both monitors but still not detecting second. There is no help on that on any YT channell.
Same
[Solved / update]
Use the shortCut Windows+P brings up a completely different menu than the traditional "Right Click" > "Display Settings". This problem only started to happen after the latest update to Windows 10.
[Before solved]
Windows thinks I have a 3rd monitor that I disconnected, which I trashed a long time ago.
"Detect" does not work.
I no longer have the option to "View Only" on a single monitor. I can only extend or duplicate.
I now have to go into NVIDIA control panel and disable the 2nd monitor to force Windows to use the 1st monitor.
Already installed there's nothing to install. What's going ON!? this is why I hate PC.. is never NEVER a 1 try working thing in literally anything you try
HERE IS MY SOLUTION: Press Windows logo + P
This needs to be top comment. Thank YOU. Not the joker that made this video!
If this doesn't work disable & enable both the drivers or one driver depending on your Pc it will work for sure
thanks it worked for me
my second monitor uses a vga cable, when i connect it to the pc the screen just shows black with lines going up and down like some 2010 camera footage. the pc doesnt detect the monitor either,
can somebody please help me
mines too sadly
You no longer to do the other shits above. Just go to your bios settings and to the chipset settings. Find the internal graphic card. It is at "Auto" as default. Change it to "On" then save and restart your pc. It should fix it.
@@marvinseanterry9200 where that setting??
@@kawe8811 you need to restart your pc then go to your bios by immediately pressing Delete on your keyboard.
@@marvinseanterry9200 thnk i will try tomorrow
Just get straight to the point im not 90 years old...
And if it doesn't work try and see if you connected everything right because my setup is to a matrix, from my videocard i use both hdmi to my monitors, back then i was using vga and my uncle hdmi when i switched monitors to let my uncle play while i do some work all the desktop apps went from one monitor to the other one but now it's not working, and im not talking about select and app and put it into the other display, that's easy to do,but one game is set to monitor 2 for example,if i put the game on monitor 1 my uncle cannot see the game, just the pc backround.
Idk how it's working for other people. Literally tried like 80% of the tutorials, they all show the same, but none of these works for me.. I have the right cables, I did everything right, everything's up to date.
Try enabling and disabling the software it will work
i have a pc with Ryzen 3 3200g processor with integrated Radeon Vega 8 graphics and already bought a vga splitter hoping for the Extended monitor to take effect. why does i my desktop still cant detect my 2nd monitor ?? Can someone help me ?
me too
If I had a dollar for everytime ppl say just update your drivers I'd be rich. I have latest drivers on everything, reset my PC, reset my monitors, still nothing. I'm using a DP to HDMI to connect my 2nd monitor and before you ask yes, DP to my GPU, HDMI to my monitor, and both hdmi slots work with a regular hdmi to hdmi connection. Is my only solution getting an adapter even though DP can convert to HDMI naturally or can someone give me something different to work with?
Update: Turns out the DP to HDMI adapter needed constant pressure in a specific way to stay plugged in as it was loose. Tried using the DP to HDMI wire again and somehow got different results and managed to make it plug in all the way. Everyone plz check that ur DP, if using, is not loose. It should not be loose.
@@TenebrisXL thanks i will try this
@TenebrisXL oh my god dude thank you so much, this helped me so much I couldn't find any tutorial to fix the problem
TenebrisXL I used a hdmi to hdmi for my 2nd monitor
My primary monitor is hdmi to hdmi connected from my gpu to my primary monitor
My second is connected to my mob but still doesn’t work
TenebrisXL the cable isn’t the issue because I even plugged in my 2nd monitor to my gpu and it turns on like that
How do I fix: best drivers already installed
Thanks man. I never would have thought to update my drivers!
Took me 2 hours to find something that worked, liked and subscribed
After much work trying to figure out how to have dual displays I found my graphics card only supports one extra monitor on my older HP laptop. I’ve wasted money on buying different cables etc without any result. 😢
My second monitor shows input signal out of range and when i disable my intel UHD Graphics it works but my laptop is a lot slower
This is my problem:
I have a new monitor, a Asus Tuf gaming 27". This monitor works fine with several laptops, desktops and games consoles.
I also have an older Asus laptop with dual gpu's. I can connect it via hdmi to several different monitors, both old and brand new, and it works fine.
But here comes the problem: this old asus laptop does not work with my new asus monitor, as if they're not compatible with each other. I dont get it.
What could be the problem?
There is no fault in the cables or drivers or gpu's, as far as I know, since both the new monitor and the old laptop works fine in several different set ups, just not together.
nope, didn't work for me, I only have NVIDIA in my display adaptors
Okay... and if my drivers are already up to date, also. My problem is the second monitor isn't even being recognized by the pc. It doesn't show up in a list of any kind under devices or monitors
Omg same
@Arya Bira no joke... my monitor was dead. I tried it with three different devices. Then, I went to Best Buy to get a tester monitor, and it fired up immediately. So my solution was to get a new monitor :/
Mine works but the computer isn’t recognising it though it’ll display the screen
will it work if i have one monitor in a display port and another monitor using dvi cable?
I have the same prblm. The monitor with DVI cable doesn't work? Have you tried doing like the above video? Does it work?
Nothing showed up I’m updating the windows 11 laptop I’m trying to help my mom set up her work laptop to work from home since she isn’t tech savy. I’m going to try to figure it out before 7 today if not I’ll tell her she’ll have to go to the office unfortunately
no updates needed, 2nd display is just showing what is displayed on the 1st one, but detecting NOTHING what the fuck

My old laptop doesn’t show a 240htz monitor. I then went to display settings and dropped it down to 120 now it works
mine doesnt say "didnt detect another display" but also doesnt show up on device manager?
god, i'm gonna feel like one of those bots saying this but it actually worked. thank you!!!
I followed everything until my second monitor wasn’t on the list when I clicked on display adapters?
Updating the driver? I did! But not working. I'm using usb to vga but still not detecting the second monitor.
same here
My intel doesn’t even show up only my graphics card
Ugh when everyone in the comments has a basic problem but Mines the only one that doesn't work with any solution...
Waht if my drivers are already updated but still not detecting the 2nd moniter.
This is so godamn frustrating
none of these solve my external monitor detection issue. It used to work till mid-2021. Now in now way, I can't attach and use a second monitor. Even through other ports/converters to HDMI. what can be the highest solution?
maybe second monitor power supply issue - motherboard issue - port issue - capacitor - or chipset failure= get repair or replace monitor if not driver issue

IMPORTANT:
I tried everything from multiple videos.
What worked was simply unplugging the HDMI from both ends and switching off the power to the monitor again .
This sorted everything after 2 hours of stress 🤣....I'm so stupid
ur comment just saved me so much time
simply unplugged the monitor from power and waited till it died then plugged it back in
@@ALVI500 ahha no worries I had a separate problem today where for some reason when plugging in the charger for my laptop, the external monitor would black screen.
Through trial and error I noticed that only through HDMI 1 port did this problem happen, not in HDMI 2 (changed cables) This was another problem that wasted an hour 🤣👍

I don’t have intel UHF Graphics showing up
I've done that and my pc keeps saying "the best drivers for your device are already installed"
What do it do then,
I've tried the multiple display button but it doesn't also work
My pc just doesn't want to connect on hdmi
I have same problem can u tell me if u gey fix pl,
Doesn't fix the issue of detecting a monitor it was already not detecting.
my pc is kinda detecting my second monitor and it displaying the same thing showing it connected but dectecting it
When the monitor is NOT detected how are you supposed to update it???
Thank you so much it worked I was so scared bc it was my first monitor
If u use Nvidia. Open Nvidia control panel with rightclick --> choose display --> set up multiple displays --> and select the displays you want to use --> Tick on box for 2nd display. Done! Make sure to plug all them in before doing this. You'll be fine! Sorry for my bad english btw :D
wow tysm it worked :)
Omg it worked on my laptop, love you~❤
I did what you said but the computer still didn't detect the other display
My monitor just blacked out after all dis. Fake asl
I tried and my drivers are updated already still cant do dual monitors😔
my 3rd monitor wont separate from my 2nd monitor why is this ?
For laptop / monitor with VGA cable. You have to UPDATE, Video Controller (VGA Compatible) in Other devices menu in Device manager settings
How?
First go to Device manager settings, then go to Other devices, there you will see Video Controller, update this. Do all this after connecting VGA cable to laptop
I DONT HAVE THE DISPLAY ADAPTERS OPTION WHAT THE FUCK
I disabled the graphics driver and enabled it lmao
My computer is restarting if it works a subscribe from my side
didnt work..... "best drivers already exist"
i updated the driver and then my monitor lost signal
thank you so much for this video and just getting to the point i hate it when some guy is like "hey guys its me your local D-Bag......" and spend more time promoting themselves then telling me what i need to know.
I do that but I don’t get 2 options I just get one so how am I supposed to do that
OMG I HAVE THE F'NG DRIVERS UPDATED SHUT UP !!!!!!
It worked I just had to update windows. Pretty weird
thanks for showing how to get to device manager. just disabled and re-enabled my graphics card and my second monitor is working perfectly now. Thanks😍
oh wow, i just recently had issues with my second monitor not being detected, or detected once in a while, i disables and re-enabled the driver and it works! Thank you so much!
If it still doesn't work for you, you can choose ''Browse my computer for driver software'', choose the option below (English isn't my main language so i can't really translate it) & choose your driver to update. It worked for me, hope it works for you too.
