  • Today we are looking at the Kubota L2501. This is a workhorse of a tractor with a utilitarian customer in mind. We also do a slight comparison between this and the Kubota LX2610!

      @@creepycory7247 , I went with gear drive
      #1- It was $1500 cheaper,
      # 2- you get quite a bit more pulling power and power to the pto.
      It works for me in my application . If you will do a lot of loader work, you may prefer the hydro.
      There are not many people who would prefer the gear drive like I have, but I am sure happy with mine.

    The best thing with the underpowered 2501 is that shims can be removed from the injection pump putting the engine to its originally engineered spec to about 33Hp. You get a new non emissions tractor with decent power.

      I bought a L3800 pre emissions model because I worried about not being able to fix everything myself. I have 3 diesel vehicles all deleted after dealing with those issues. If you are like me you don't run yours hard enough to keep the engine from going into regen every 10 hrs and I mainly use mine for the loader/backhoe. I paid the same price as a 2 yr old model, its 2014 and have had it 3 years. Picked up a almost new backhoe for 5700$ off govdeals. You might keep your eyes open they pop up from time to time.

      Also I picked up an almost new backhoe (BH77) for 5500$ off Govplanet if you might be looking for one. They come up from time to time and I got lucky. My L3800 is the same as the 2601 just a slightly bigger motor. @@matthoekstra2186

    Living in Australia I have a Kubota MX5200 without any emissions or anti pollution equipment installed. It’s time for Americans to start work towards get rid of government laws forcing these unnecessary gadgets hanging off tractors.

    Great review. Agree with a lot of your points. I have had my l2501hst for two years and love the tractor. The l2501 has the same motor as a 3301 and 3901. It's just tuned down to get below the 26hp requirements. Live PTO and need for the clutch, brake pedals above your treadle pedal is in my opinion a downside. But overall not a huge deal. I would not downplay the capabilities to mow. I use a 5-ft mower and manage a Thousand Acre hunting lease as well as my 12 acre property and it mows as good as my 42 horsepower tractor used to. You just need to match the bush hog to the size of your tractor.. Now I am in Florida and it's flat ground so if you live in a hilly part of the country you may need a little bit more power. I do regret not getting the rear remotes I wish out of done that when I purchased it I would definitely get a third function to add a grapple. The grapple has been a life-changer. Would buy the tractor again in a heartbeat

      2501 runs a 100 cubic inch engine, 33 and 39 horse run 111 cubic inches. NOT the same engine throughout

      @jhbrown53 10 месяцев назад

      You are partially correct, that block was also designed in an industrial application to be about 33hp. There are many good videos showing how to do this modification putting the correct shims or lack there of on the fuel pump affecting the injection timing . Kubota retarded the injection timing to be able to get under the 26hp requirement. People seem really happy with it afterwards and say its a lot less sooty.

      I run a stock l2501 HST 2021 model, with a 5 foot box blade on the mountain inclines of Western North Carolina with little issues.. She's a beast if you treat her right, and learn how to properly operate it.
      A couple of the inclined roads are so steep, I can only blade down, however I have seen ALL WHEEL DRIVE vehicles fail to scale it. So that said she is a workhorse. And yes Grapple is a must!

    I have a question with this tractor can I pick up a round ball hay ?

    • @sufoj
      @sufoj Год назад

      Kubota says it will lift about 850 a foot forward of the pins. That being said, I have seen an L2501 lift a pallet with 1675 pounds on it. If you move the occasional bale, it should be fine. If you want to make and sell hay for a living, this is not the tractor for you.

    • @CC-Rider
      @CC-Rider 6 месяцев назад

      I wouldn't. Several attempts on some of the big round bales, and depending on the moisture content, density etc. L2501 struggles it's ass off trying to lift them. However those who jailbreak their l2501 say it will lift them.
