it is so awesome apple actually put thought in us wheelchair people it's amazing it's super super rare for anything to benefit us! I love how it says time to roll! lol I might have to turn on fall detection I thought it would just go off really easy!
Hey lisa, great to see your new video! I’ve been using my apple watch 6 for over a year and half, and I only use it for walking, apply pay and just some other apps but it was really interesting to listen to the story of using the watch in different situations! Seemed to me like it was just ads but by listening to your story, it makes a lot more sense now. Thank you for the video by sharing it with your story and keep it up!👏👍
Thank you so much, this is such a kind comment! 😊 I think many people just use it for its basic features, which is totally fine, but it is still good to know that the watch offers more, in case it could be helpful for someone. Then again, everyone's needs are different and there are also many features I never used and never will use. 😁 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Heyy, unfortunately I have no experience with Samsung smartwatches. In fact, I don’t even know if they have a wheelchair mode. Garmin does in case you are interested 😉
Hello, thank you for your video. Quick question, how does the strap from the watch handle the friction from pushing the chair? And which strap do you think is better to not tear quickly? If the wrist tends to have high friction with the wheel?
In my case, I don't have any type of friction with pushing the chair. But thinking about friction, I'd say that maybe the Sport Loop is a good choice. I think the Solo Loop or Sport Band might not handle friction that well, it could even be in the way of pushing the chair properly 🤔
Hi Lisa, Thank you for your video. I just bought my son a new series 8 Apple watch specifically because he is in a wheelchair and has no way to track his fitness or his progress of his workouts. Everyone needs motivation to keep working out. When there was no way to keep track for wheelchair bound people it was hard to stay on track and keep motivated. I am so excited that Apple has developed this technology. My son is a T4 Paraplegic from an auto accident when he was 16. He also does a lot of weight lifting, and understand with his new watch it will also track heart rates , to see how many BPM etc you are exerting. I am giving him this gift for Christmas, it is a surprise. I will also get him to subscribe to your You tube page. Thank you for your positive attitude. I also appreciate you pointing out the features of the watch when one falls. Recently he was going down the driveway to get the mail and one of his wheels went down in the curbing and threw him out of the chair. It was impossible for him to get back in the chair, he patiently waited until a neighbor saw him on the ground and called 911 emergency. By the time they arrived he had already dragged himself all the way up the driveway and scooted backside all the way into his house. The features of this new watch will be of great benefit.
Hey Sharon 😊 this must be one of the comments that gave me the most joy on this channel! I am sure the watch will be a nice addition to your son's daily life and maybe it will even be helpful from time to time, also for you not having to worry too much about him, which parents always do, no matter what. No more waiting for someone to call 911. I am sure he will enjoy the surprise! 😊 Thank you so so much for watching the video and I wish you all the best 🥰
Hi, I use my wheelchair not the whole day, I can walk a bit, but if I have the watch in wheelchair mode, does he see it if I take steps instead of pushes in the wheelchair? Or do I have to turn the modus to normal instead of wheelchair?
I walk most of the time (except when at home) and I have it in wheelchair mode. It counts it as pushes and not steps. So if you want the watch to count steps you have to change to normal mode. Hope it helps 😊
@@smilisa. aah, thank you! Next Tuesday I will get my Apple watch, so I was very curious! The smartwatch I have now is not working in wheelchair mode, and I will be more in my wheelchair in the future, so this new watch will be more usefull. Thanks for the answer! 😊
@moniek5650 in case, it is not a huuuge workaround to change the mode, I am just too lazy to do so 😁 Health > click on profile picture > Health Details > Edit
I’m in a electric wheelchair (I used to be in a manual chair) and just got a new Apple Watch series 8 yesterday. Still trying to figure out everything I can do with it. 😅
The wish you the best of luck with it 😊 in case you need any help, feel free to contact me! I hope the watch will be as helpful to you as it is to me 😊
@kyliegirl1976 You can always use the watch, also as a power wheelchair user. 😊 You might not close your activity rings, as you do less activity if any, I assume. But it will still measure your heart rate, oxygen, etc. and you will be able to get all your notifications and use all the other Apple Watch apps 😊 You close your rings by being active and in the case of a wheelchair user, it would be by pushing the wheelchair. Since in an electric wheelchair, that does not happen so the watch might alert you that you are not very active, but you can adjust that in the settings.

Question ma'am so I don't roll around I use my feet so I should have it on regular mode not wheelchair
You should use it on regular mode as otherwise it might be inaccurate 😉
Hello, any tips for wheelchair users who have Samsung Smartwatch?
