This is the song I want played at my funeral when ever I die. I've known that since I was 15 years old. I'm 28 now, still the same.

I like to think this song was for my oldest daughter. It describes the last day of her life perfectly. She loved Evanescence and listened to them all the time she even looked like Amy Lee. She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2002 and fought it every day of her life. In September 2005 she began to have pain in her right side and tried to see if it would go away but it continued to get worse. When she couldn't take it anymore she finally agreed to go to the hospital. The last words she ever said to me was " am I going to die ". I had no answer for her. They took her to the ICU and at midnight October 4 she took her last breath at the age of 29. I could feel the Angels around her and are certain they took her to Heaven. They told me so. Now days she comes to me in dreams and I found another Evanescence song that I love titled Before the Dawn you should give it a listen.

When I was 13 I had a dear friend and she sang me this song on my birthday. I never had a chance to meet her again since that times - no socials, no phone, just nothing. She literally disappeared.
I'm 27 now, still listening, especially in October.
I learned how to play this on guitar when I was around 16, that was 12 years ago and its still the first song that comes to mind when I pick up a guitar today.

this is my favorite song from Amy Lee. Whenever I relapse I find myself drawn to this song. Like tonight I guess. I'm so ashamed when I fall. I can grow in recovery if I remember to allow my strength to come from God. Its crazy how many times you can fail, and God is still there waiting for his prodigal daughter. The righteous fall seven times but get up 8.
I totally relate, I struggle and fail many times, and it kills me inside. I long to be clean in the sight of my Heavenly Father, my flesh is weak, and it often makes me do things I hate to do...
My frequent prayer to God is "Please don't stop loving me, and give me a chance to experience life free from sin in my body and mind, don't discard me for my continual failure...."

It's October right now and this is how I feel.
I absolutely love this song. I'm going to sing this at my mom's funeral, and hope I dont break like I am now. Amy Lee and Evanescence has been mine and my mom's favorite artist to listen to, and to honor her I will sing this to her.

If you have ever seen the soap General hospital, it's in a old vid about Liz and Jason. That was the first time I heard the song a d there was nothing religious about it
This has always been one of my favorite Evanescence songs.
Anyone listening to this in 2020 still? This song has a huge place in my heart, I lost 2 of the most important people in my life in October 2 years apart. I lost my brother Tommy who was also my best friend, October 29, 2010 very unexpectedly just hit me out of nowhere! I lost my grandpa I lovingly called Hoppy since I learned to talk, on October 17, 2012 to cancer. The reason his death was so hard was because the doctors said it was 99.9% curable, why did he have to be that unlucky 1%? He was another father figure to me and almost 8 years later at 43 years old, I still mourn his loss like it was yesterday. What I’d give to be able to hug him and hear his voice just one more time, and what I’d give to hug my big brother 2 years older than me one more time & laugh about the most random things. I love and miss you both so much!! 🥺😢💔⛈

This song hits different for me now that my Grandma Ro has passed last October. She was a wonderful woman. And a warrior, too. When her son (my dad) passed at 46 years old in 2016, we were all grieving hard, and my Grandma gave us hugs, smiles, love, kindness without ever breaking down. Interestingly, the day my family and I buried her was also the day that this old Disney Channel series Bear in the Big Blue House finally came onto Disney+. It’s something I’ve BEGGED Disney to do since Disney+ first launched. At my Grandma’s funeral, I didn’t shed a single tear, but when my family and I were home and I started watching a random episode of Bear in the Big Blue House, as soon as the theme song started, I broke down hard. Listening to this song makes me think about my Grandma, and how much I miss her every day. Bless Evanescence (especially Amy Lee herself) for this beautiful song. I love you Grandma. You’re with dad and Grandpa Ben now.
