    Interesting garden railroad. Looks like he has both G Scale and 1 Scale rolling stock. Always stimulating to see other people's trains, get inspired, exchange experiences, share ideas... and dreams! And the good beers are a plus ;-) Thanks to you and your friend for sharing this.

      Yes it is interesting for sure. My friend has a totally different approach for his garden railroad compared to mine. I like prototypical train operations, he on the other hand runs the layout to showcase this hobby to other people. A whole bunch of trains are operating at the same time. Some of them automatically and some of them manually controlled. We had so much fun that day!

    The 7.5 inch gauge brings back memories of family holidays in the south of England where there were many similar mini train runs. Nothing like them as a child to boost your imagination traveling at the ferocious speed of possibly 10 kph throgh miniature buildings. Sadly I think they are mostly gone now. A great loss to children of today.
    I always like the big black body and red wheeled German locos. They have a rugged purposful attraction. The old Irish steam were mainly functional, black and dirty workhorses, till steam was replaced in the late 1950's earily 60's. There were a few excptions. The three 130 ton mainline steam locos built in the Inchore Works in Dublin. They retired in 1956 and the only one left, which on display in the Ulster Transport Meseum, is Meadb No 800. English translation is Meave. Similar in looks to the Flying Scotsman, it recorded a speed of 96 mph, just over 155 kph. not bad for a loco of the 1939 era.
    Looking forward to seeing your stock moving about the garden.

      Hi! You brought to me a whole history lesson about the englisch train world, thank´s a lot! It is sad to hear that the 7.5 inch railway lines are disappearing. Here in germany they are very rare as well but they have been for a long time. This gauge was never that popular in Germany compared to England. The biggest problem is that you need a lot of space for those railroads. Looking at todays property prices it is just not going to happen...

    Die Steuerung der Anlage und der Züge hätte ich gern noch gesehen.

      Danke für den Tipp, das hätte ich noch zeigen können ... beim nächsten mal achte ich darauf! Die Anlage an sich wird per Hand bedient. Die wenigen Signale die verbaut sind haben keine Funktion (deshalb auch die Ausfahrt über das Haltzeigende Signal) und sämtliche Weichen sind mit der Hand zu stellen. Der Fahrbetrieb wurde an diesem Tag durch eine Massoth Digitalzentrale und die entsprechenden Funkhandregler bewältigt. In der Anlage sind auch diverse Strecken mit Pendelautomatik integriert die analog betrieben werden.

    Was fällt dem bei 5:30 ein, bei Haltsignal zu fahren?

    • @summitrailway
      @summitrailway  7 месяцев назад +2

      Das lief über einen Befehl "vorbeifahrt am halt zeigenden Signal" 😉 Da die Signale auf dieser Anlage keine Funktion haben hatten wir keine Wahl. Entweder dran vorbei fahren oder den ganzen Tag im Bahnhof stehen bleiben...
