Binary thinking is also known as the logic fallacy false dichotomy. A false dichotomy, also known as a false dilemma or false binary, is an informal logical fallacy that presents a limited set of options, typically two, as the only possible choices when in reality more alternatives exist. This fallacy oversimplifies complex issues by forcing an either-or decision, ignoring nuanced positions or additional possibilities.
