What a great song. Ray’s keys really dominate, but Robbie Kreiger’s guitar, in the right ear, is sublime. It is very understated, almost buried, but it is delicately beautiful.
I awoke to this song one morning by my clock-radio before catching my bus to high school back in the 70's. It was raining outside at the time. I will never forget the perfect poetry of that moment.
Heard this song recently driving down a winding mountain road at night during a storm, it felt so fitting! When they recorded this Jim sang the lyrics, then went back and recorded them again whispering them, they laid the whisper track over the top of vocals, I always thought it added the creepy vibe that is so delicious
Nice, yet another great epic from them, they had a knack for getting your attention and holding it, great headphones band. You can so get lost in some of their longer songs. For another epic, do When the Music's Over, more proof of how their musical talent was off the charts. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
Still my favorite Doors song. And I gotta admit, the remaster does sound good. I could hear more clarity to Jim’s vocals and the whole recording in general. And very cool that old footage was assembled to create the video.
Last song, last album, recorded at the band's own workshop property, rather than in a studio. A creepy exit for Jim, who split for Paris and died shortly thereafter, under mysterious circumstances.
Jim's the man! Ray has magic key fingers ... I have always believed that music, to be enjoyed by the listener and get a smooth groove on, the creators don't need to make it ear-piercing loud, with 'in your face screaming vocals' and played as fast as light speed ...
I was a kid when this song came out. The Vietnam war was going on, the hippies, the "Hells angels" the smell of pot everywhere.. The Beatles... and of course the Doors"!
Was you guys doin whacky tobacky? Got the giggles for the hippy flashback, you don't need to with this song(devil's lettuce, i mean) this song is on my life's soundtrack 😊... like maggot brain, your on musical drugs by the end. ❤
I believe the story goes that Jim Morrison really didn’t want to do the singing in the first place he was only doing the writing but did End up doing the singing
Hard to pick, but I do love The Doors, they are of my generation. For me it is a tie between The Doors and The Band. Perhaps there were too much talent to choose from, Santana, Creedence Clear Water, Jefferson's Airplane. However, The Doors and The Band were a little different.
Doors never used a bass guitarist.Keyboard player Ray Manzerak played a bass keyboard with his left hand, playing lead electric piano with his right hand.
Others may have made valent efforts to cover this, but none can match the original. However, Val Kilmer did do an excellent jog for the Doors movie This was the last song they recorded before Jim went to Paris and, well, you know. The entire band was tight and just really jives together so great.
If you ever notice, Jim Morrison was more like a crooner than a rock singer. Notice he sounds more like Sinatra than Robert Plant or any other rock stars in the way he sings.
Great reaction, too bad Morrison self-destructed so early, talent, money and fame not enough when you have poor moral compass and no discipline, too bad for the group, talented musicians but went nowhere after Jim's death...

Yes and is important to note Ray is also doing Bass on the keyboard at the same time
Robbie play's flamenco style too. No pick, just finger style.
A door's classic, it is a masterpiece...
Listening to this song in darkness is an amazing experience!
yup. laying down, lights out. one truly 'feels' the music.
Such a vibe song with the reverb and tremelo. Thunder done by hitting the amp with the reverb unit.
I've always loved the driving beat of Densmore's drums in this, so under appreciated in my opinion.
One of the best bands of the 60s in my opinion…
All time, I would say
I love the whispered vocals behind the lead vocals
aka echoes xD

Of course, you heard it on the radio…. Every. Time. It. Rained 😊
Jim's last song recorded. RIP BEAUTIFUL JIM ❤
Sweet music, and sweet memories. I miss those days. Thanks. Keep Rocking.

Great reaction to a great song!

Love all The Doors music 🎶 🎵 ❤️ but this one is my favorite.
Can't believe you only have 200 subs. 😮😊
You guys need to hear Peacefrog by The Doors...funky as hell...
The Doors brilliant band this is a good song. I do recommend you check out Roadhouse Blues
I believe the story goes that Jim Morrison really didn’t want to do the singing in the first place he was only doing the writing but did End up doing the singing
God I love the Doors
Jim was so beautiful and know why all the ladies loved him. ❤
One of those bands that sits upon a shelf by themselves...
This song is about the USAF C130's in Vietnam because they can handle the hurricanes and typhoons. Matter of fact they still use them to this day.
Did you hear that? He is giving you advice! Hahaha! He sounds old mastered already! Lol
Doors are arguably the best American band ever!

Chill man ! ✌
Snoop Dogg did a version of this song with the actual ban also -1
Ahhh! The ‘60’s.
Newmaster red face
Hello from Pa. Love your reactions
Keep up the good work
This song is the reason I picked up bass guitar. Wish I'd learned keyboard!
Great bassline. Jerry Scheff had a killer groove.
If you have never listened to "Walk of the Earth" and "Happy" then I would suggest you try them, they are brilliant.
At 4:51 is Jim's wife Pamela Courson, who died a few years after her husband.
Roadhouse Blues for some raging screaming Jim Morrison.
Yes❤
This song is 'known by many walls' like we say in italian : la conoscono anche i muri
Stoned reactors. LOVE it
magic song
Pure magic
Ahh, Ray Manzarek...way to craft a solo...just a little violated expectation at 6:25... :^)
Jim died before this song and album was released.
GOAT

Raul, yes? I moved here to paradise PV, Mexico...love you're rock and everything else! No more horrible US for me!! Where are you at?
jam!
I read that the killer on the road part was about serial killer Billy " cock eyed" Cook.
Ride the Snake = Spiral out = Caution to the wind
Next reaction "Light my fire" live at Ed Sullivan Show 😊
Riders are people who are wanting something from you. Its called soul power, and they use words of lies and illusions etc.
The killer on the road is a reference to Ted Bundy, that was going on at that time
Ooh is this live?!!
demonic jazz rock

I think I read Jim was a big Sinatra fan. Makes sense.
Funny enough, he didn't like singing songs that were more like Sinatra. I guess he liked sounding like him but he liked rock more than band music.
Hey you 2...have you even done Styx??!
..."Class of 76"...
sexiest voice ever!
They never played this song live.
It came at the very end of the band's existence, at least the band with Morrison.
Remaster, my ass! Original vinyl sounds better!👍
Do these two go to work like this?
He had to repeat himself because women don't listen. 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂jk, jk...
Stop the carpet.
Riders on the Storm is so beautiful that even my easy piano cover sounds good, check it out! 🎹💥
Negative comments are deleted.

Great song 👍 boring “host “ Subscribe ?? Lol nice one
FYI thats not the Doors find the original

What an embarrassment these two are.
You really shouldn't try to do a video when you are so DAMN high!!! I will no longer watch your reactions!!!
