The vocals are from over 50 years ago in 1971.The music was rearranged to add the storm effects later. This is the last song made by the band together before Jim Morrison's death in 1971.
I recommend the Doors songs Yes the river knows, Summer's almost gone, The Crystal ship, You're lost little girl, End of the night, Peace Frog, Blue Sunday.
Actually, The Doors did film a few music videos in their brief career in the 60's... Jim Morrison (vocals) was an amateur filmmaker as well as a poet before he became The Doors' lead singer in the mid-60's... They shot promo videos for 'Break on through (to the other side)' ... 'Light my fire'... 'Hello, I love you'... 'The unknown soldier' ... 'L.A. woman'... 🔥🔥 Jim Morrison was a college student in 1965 who was a poet... an artist. He met Ray Manzarek, a musician who played the organ and was convinced to form a band so that he could express his poetry as they played music - John Densmore (drums) and Robbie Krieger (guitar) joined the band that became The Doors... Morrison called himself 'The Lizard King' in the poem 'Celebration of the Lizard'... His manic and unpredictable performances in the L.A. clubs made him a star by 1966, but Morrison also drew ire w/ controversial lyrics... The Doors were fired once after Morrison added a monologue to the song 'The End' in which he verbally depicts murdering his parents... But controversy sells... and The Doors were signed in 1966 and released their debut album in early 1967 - it yielded an unexpected #1 hit single 'Light my fire' (written by guitarist Robbie Krieger). The Doors toured the US playing cities who had never heard of them and grew in reputation... more records were released - 'Strange days' (1967)... 'Waiting for the Sun' (1968) ... In late 1967, Jim Morrison and The Doors were arrested at a gig in Connecticut after Morrison began berating the police for a backstage incident... In 1968, Jim Morrison was accused of exposing himself at a gig in Florida; despite no evidence that he had done so... he was convicted in a trial. 'The soft parade' (1969) was recorded w/ brass & string instruments accompanying the band... 'Morrison Hotel' (1970) was a return to a rock n' roll sound... Jim Morrison's drug and alcohol intake, combined w/ his frustrations of being a 'rock star' in public made him resolve to quit. But he stayed to record their 1971 album 'L.A. Woman' which became one of The Doors' biggest records... However, Morrison was not performing well live towards the end... In 1971, Jim Morrison and his wife Pamela left for Paris, France and settled there for a few months... Pamela apparently found him dead one night after he complained of chest pains; Jim Morrison passed away from apparent heart failure at age 27... Pamela died 3 years later from an OD... The Doors recorded 2 more albums w/ Ray Manzarek on lead vocals, but split up in the mid-70's.
Later. Jim Morrison, lead singer died aged 27 in 1970. He's buried in Paris. Their music is definitely headspace music. L A Woman is worth a listen too!
Val Kilmer played Jim Morrison in the Doors movie!! Jim is a member of the 27 club, he died the same year as Jimi, Janis, also members of the 27 club! I have visited his grave in Paris!!
@Biss, Fun fact, since you just reacted to "The Cult". The Cult-singer Ian Astbury replaced Doors-singer Jim Morrison (RIP) during their 2000s reunion shows.
I saw the keyboardist and guitar player of the Doors in concert with a sound a like Jim Morrison singer a few years ago, before Ray Manzarek, the keyboardist, passed away. They were amazing and this was without Jim Morrison. I can only imagine what it would have been like with Morrison.
Yeah, seeing how Jim Morrison (singer/writer for The Doors) died in 1971, roughly 10 years before music videos "became a thing", the ONLY footage you would see was from a concert or maybe a guest spot on a TV show. So, whenever you see a "music video" for a Doors song that is NOT "concert footage" from the late 60's, you are pretty much going to be seeing something that is "fan made" and not "official". For a band that had roughly 4 years of "being recognized", The Doors have been one of the most REFERENCED bands for inspiring people to explore different themes and musical compositions. And it is also somewhat ironic that they also had such an "unique sound" (vocally and musically) that you can often "imitate" their sound, but you rarely find anyone who can CREATE their sound on their own. That is why so many songs from The Doors get so many "covers". Everyone wants to tap into what The Doors created, but very few can do it the justice that is needed to do something BIG with it.
Here's a bit of trivia: "Into this world we're thrown" is evidently Jim Morrison's reference to Martin Heidegger's concept of Geworfenheit, which he encountered in a 1963 lecture at a university in Florida. The theme of the song seems to be that life is a series of dangerous challenges and we are basically unprepared and defenseless. I think that's consistent with Geworfenheit. It is said that Morrison was inspired to write the music based on the popular country song "Ghost Riders in the Sky."
What inspired Jim Morrisson to write the lyrics to Riders on the storm. Is about Billy Cook who murdered 6 people while hitchhiking from Missouri to California in the early 50s. So it´s based on a true story. Jim was an great rock poet, sadly he ended up in the 27 club
Richard Dancer You are the greatest Biss. I love when you dance to a video (funky --groovy?!--Where'd you learn those old terms). I can picture you back in the days of disco I bet you would have a loved it. (notice my REAL last name --me too) You really got the moves on THIS video, I was smiling all the wat through it💃🥰
Awesome song lite my fire is very good song. the doors the story is worth a watch if you like story's about the doors cheers 🥂 choice reactions biscuit 🎉🎵🎵🎵🎵
The Doors were among the most controversial & influential rock acts of the 1960s, mostly due to Jim Morrison's lyrics & voice. They had a lot of hits including "Light My Fire", "Break On Through (To The Other Side)", "Love Me Two Times", "Roadhouse Blues", "The End", "L.A. Woman", "People Are Strange", "Hello, I Love You", "Touch Me", "The Unknown Soldier", "Love Her Madly" etc. Sadly Jim Morrison died in 1971 at the age of only 27 but left a great legacy of music.
True story, all of the above. So many good ones to choose from -- and this is coming from an old fart 80s metalhead...much respect for this amazing band.
Lovin those rain sounds. The Lizard King is so cool. Jim Morrison and the Doors was standard radio airplay for the 1970's. They were really big. His life story is fascinating, also, for many a Doors fan. He was quite a character. Shoutout to you, Miss Bisscute, from this hippy, rocker dude in the States. Lookin fine. Love you lots. See you on the next. Peace.
The Doors were about twenty five or so when they recorded this if I'm not much mistaken. Jim Morrison passed away at twenty-seven, to join that execlusive club, sadly. He was quite a mercurial figure who had his quirks and addictions (basically he was an alcoholic who never took a bath, ew!), and would do many of his most famous vocal performances in studio in one take, while he was available. Thus this, and LA Woman were masterpieces in that way. Note also that some of the lyrics were improvised at the time, in keeping with the whole hipster vibe of the era (well actually the slightly previous era, as that whole artistic movement had peaked in the early 60's). As for the song itself, it's not necessarily trying to convey a well thought-out narrative or specific message. What it does do is evoke the great American Road and Superhighway system which was still a relatively new thing back then. It was a fantastic way to get around the US, but an equally effective tool for those who had less honest intentions, serial killers in particular. For that it is absolutely brilliant - you actually feel like you're sitting in a car all alone, it's raining and there's a shadowy stranger by the side of the highway, hitchhiking. Do you pick him up, or leave him in the rain? After all, he may simply just be trying to get to San Francisco to become part of the hippy culture as so many did at the time. And hitchhiking was still considered a respectable way to travel, and not dangerous (yet). But by the late 60s there had been enough cases of strange goings-on around the highway system that people were starting to take note, and thus we have this song.
The lyrics were written and brought to rehearsal by Jim Morrison, of which a portion of it refers to hitchhiking killer Billy "Cockeyed" Cook, who was the subject of the 1953 film, The Hitch-Hiker. Ray Manzarek noted that some lines express Morrison's love to his companion Pamela Courson.
Jim Morrison such a amazing vocalist 🐐 Check out Light My First, Soul Kitchen, Roundhouse Blues, Break on Through, People are Strange, LA Woman, The End 🔥🔥🔥
The single was released in June 1971, shortly before Morrison's death. A little ironic, that this song can be seen as an autobiographical account of Morrison's life: he considered himself a "Rider on the storm." The "killer on the road" is a reference to a screenplay he wrote called The Hitchhiker, where Morrison was going to play the part of a hitchhiker who goes on a murder spree. The lyrics, "Girl you gotta love your man" can be seen as a desperate plea to his long time girlfriend Pamela.
Biss you must listen to the full version of the song to enjoy it. It was released in the mid 60s, so it was ahead of its time. React to more doors, they have incredible music
Agree the original song is so much better and is longer, especially the keyboard solo. This version is so short it is a shame. Please listen to the original.
Morrison died young. LA woman my favourite song by the Doors. Also little red rooster from the album "Alive she cried". In fact everything from that album. It just flows.
You're right they were "Trippy" I enjoyed this particular song most when I was sitting around stoned. Several songs were more "in you face" and faster.
❤️❤️ great reaction, my dear!😁😁 the doors are a very unique blues ock band!! Lots of good material. The lead singer died in Paris, France on July 3, 1971!! One of the greatest front man of rock ‘n’ roll.🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼
Oh, super good, tells my age. The doors were infamous for psychedelic type music. Jim Morrison, the lead singer, was known as 'the lizard king', but don't ask me what that means, maybe figure that out for yourself, Bisscute. He is also part of Club 27 because that's the age he and others died, like Kurt Cobain... Be safe well humble kind..❤❤❤ videos exists.. Great Reaction hope not too late to comment... NEVER BE NERVOUS BISSCUTE 🙏
A nice groove. Great reaction The DOORS: ROADHOUSE BLUES. TED NUGENT: STRANGLEHOLD. WHITE ZOMBIE: THUNDER KISS. When you get a chance. Great video, keep it up 👍
I was 15 when this album came out. My best friend’s brother had just bought it and playing it on his parents awesome stereo…very loud. This song really stuck in my brain!
Hi, I love this band, I recommend their classics: Light my fire, The crystal ship, Roadhouse blues, break on through (to the other side) and The end. I recommend the movie of the doors on your other channel. Jim Morrison is very interesting, very mystical and a poet. The movie shows a lot of it and puts parts of the songs almost complete, and perhaps you should also see Jim live, he was very crazy on stage. another fact is that in the band there was no bass.
Hello coming from ENGLAND What a Awesome song I am now retired and still listening to this Music This is why I Love ROCK Music Awesome music Reviews. All the best from Nottinghamshire UK👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Word for word it was awesome Saw Queen in in1977 News of the world tour and now lost count of groups I have seen and suffering from Tinnitus Wishing you all the best and please keep on doing Some Rock reviews👍👍👍👍👍👍💯
The video is newer than the song. There is a video put together of scenes of Jim Morrison driving through the desert in America set to this song also. The song was released in 1971 right before Jim died. He did his vocals for the song, then flew to Paris where he later died of an overdose or "heart attack" which was what was officially reported.
The song is from 1971. They didn't have music videos then. Sadly this was Morrison's last song he recorded before he died on July 3, 1971. It's a fusion of styles. It's a mix of Ghost Riders in the Sky, and references hitchhiker killer Billy "Cockeyed" Cook. Much like the Doors, it mixes beauty with darkness.
Outside of the Beatles The Doors were the most prodigious bands of the 60's...7 albums in 4 yrs 5 Top 40 hits sold out shows around the world and Morrison's philosophy proved corect...He wanted to become immortal and he accomplished his goal ✌️🤘🧐
Bisscute. Such a beautiful young lady. Can't wait to see her react to the doors. Hope it's the actual video of them driving in the desert. Wish you well from Tim in Jakarta
I think the CD I have of them has a animated video version. I copied the MP3 to my computer and haven’t played the CD since. I will have to see if I can find it. It was pretty cool if I remember right.
My favorite Doors song. Obviously not a rocker, but a more subtle kind of vibe. They were unique in that the keyboard was so central to their sound, just like you heard. Most late ‘60s bands had the guitar front and center, but not them. There are some other good songs with great keyboard solos in them. “Light My Fire” in particular, the full album version. And I have to recommend a different video for this song, that features a compilation of old footage of the band. It’s also set to the full-length version of this song, so it has the whole solo. And lastly, I just love storms. 🌩️
So, yes. The Doors are an older band from the 60s, long before I was even born, but I was way into them when I was like 13. I read all the books about them, or at least some of them. Even tried to read some of Morrison's poetry. Trust me, the Doors are a whole thing, Jim Morrison is a whole thing, it's a whole rabbit hole, and usually people are really in to them, or they aren't. I totally went down that rabbit hole when I was younger! I've never seen this video before though, so it is probably something new that probably doesn't have much to do with the band, but it was cool to see. There wasn't ever really an official video for this song. Videos were sometimes made in those days, but it was before music videos were more of a common thing. The song was based off a movie Morrison tried to make about a hitchhiker that unalives people. Jim Morrison (singer) and Ray Manzarek (keyboards, they actually didn't have a bass guitar player, Manzarek would play bass keyboard with one hand and organ with the other hand) met when they were both students at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) film school. Later after their fame as a band, Jim tried to shoot the movie, but it was the 60s, so they basically went out with a, "Hey man! It's art. Let's just go out with no plan, and see what happens." kind of attitude, and nothing really ever became of it. There is a video for this song released by the band from the past 10 or 15 years that includes some of the footage from that movie though. Like I said, there's so much that goes in to The Doors and Jim Morrison mystique, even an old conspiracy theory that Jim Morrison faked his death in 1971, so I don't know how much of it I want to bore you with now. I think I may have already given you a spiel about filmmaker Oliver Stone before, but for a time, he was an iconic director and screenwriter, but kind of an odd guy himself with a sometimes questionable take on history, and then kind of fell out of the limelight. He made "The Doors", a movie about Jim Morrison and The Doors, right about the time I first got into them in the early 90s, so when I first saw it, it was the coolest thing in the world! A little bit later, after reading more about The Doors, I felt like he just kind of propped up the popular image of Jim Morrison that was probably only one side of him, but didn't really explore more about who he or the band were. If you're going to check out some Oliver Stone, there are other of his films I'd probably suggest first, maybe "Platoon", but if you're curious about The Doors, it is a good flick. I have my doubts about Oliver Stone's historical accuracy, but god damn if the man didn't know how to put on a good fucking show! Val Kilmer's performance as Jim Morrison was pretty phenomenal, and if you put a picture of Val from that movie next to a picture of the real Jim Morrison, they're not exactly identical, but they looked so amazingly close that it was scary, and you really feel as if Val Kilmer is really channeling Morrison, or at least a version of him. Filmmaker Tom DiCillo also did a documentary about The Doors in 2009 called "When You're Strange". It's been a while since I've seen it, but I think I remember it being pretty good.
Hi Biss....this song goes way back to 1971, the last song the singer recorded before he died shortly afterwards. he was only 27. the genre you were looking for in the instrumental part is usually referred to as psychedelic rock. love all of your reactions. May i ask you what country are you from? Love your accent.
Story time: back in the late 1990's, a Friday night, I''d been at work 8 hours that day already. My sister calls from college for a pickup. 5 hours away, in each direction. Arrived at midnight, then drove back the other way. Heading westbound on I-70 in the dark, I heard this song 'Riders on the Storm' on the radio, and ahead of me, I could see lots of lightning flashes from ahead. After the song, we drove through rain for a bit, but it was very memorable for me.
Groovy. That probably the feeling I had when I watched the first Friday the 13th at a drive in theater surrounded by woods. Cold wind blowing standing outside. Felt almost like being in the movie. Surreal. It was actually pretty terrifying back then when Keven Bacon got it through the throat lol. This murderous stuff was almost unheard of. And Alien during the chest burst thing on the big screen. Terrifyingly awesome. \m/
In the sixties and seventies, many excellent musicians died well before their time. Another great artist and singer was Marc Bolan, from T-Rex, well worth a listen to. All the best
my favorite band of all time there music is so good an timeless you should listen to backdoor man or any song there all good ty you for doing THE DOORS
I was 14 when I bought my first record The Doors. This song came later but every song on their first album was great but I have admit the lyrics to one song on the album, “This is the End” evokes mixed feelings.
I liked your reaction to this because it really does get funky, groovy and jazzy. It’s such a stormy, gloomy, deep song. It was cool to see you dance to this one, to see you react. It just goes to show that it’s power made it halfway across the century from which it originated.
Oh, wow! Didn't think you would ever get to them. Astounding band. A shame they were before the video times. There is so little actual footage of them.
As with all the other reactors, I always recommend that you listen to the version of "Riders On The Storm" on Jim Morrison's "solo" album "An American Prayer". It adds a phone call in the middle that expands on the "there's a killer on the road" line. It is very...eerie. Hope you enjoy it. Besides Mr. Mojo Risin's vocals, the key element is Ray Manzarek's Keyboards, IMVHO.
You SHOULD listen to more Doors. They have so many different song styles. Listening to only a couple songs wouldn't give you the full vibe of this band.
Bisscute bonito día Felicito por animarte a reaccionar a the Doors Música de los 70's Me gustan la mayoría de sus canciones, como Love Street, The End, Soft Parade, Hello Love You, wiskey Bar, Hyacinth House, LA Woman, etc etc Ojalá reacciones a Love Street Saludos desde Mexico
At least half of the whole catalog of the Doors is worth a listen. A great band! I guess I'd call them "psychedelic blues rock." In terms of rock chronology, the band formed about the time the Beatles released "Sgt. Pepper" and it ended with Morrison's death, in the year after the Beatles broke up. So they were not around for long, but have a great sound and lots of hits. This particular song is based on a story in the news of a stranger who killed a family.
It's so nice to see someone who hasn't paralyzed their forehead muscles! Doing it is akin to wearing a mask - wrinkles are so expressive and human. Also, you should listen to more Doors music.
Thank you for watching the video, It means a lot to me .

@@Nashalbeth Its a scam
This is one of those perfect songs where all the guys are playing their best. Ray Manzarek is just killing it on the keyboards.
The Doors were active from 1965-1971 when lead singer Jim Morrison died in Paris. They did not do any videos.

Jim Morrison was a master poet and the Doors backing his lyrics always is a good time
Master poet?? He was a poet but master 🤔

The last song I ever listened to with my dad before he passed. It was played at his funeral. It will always be the most special song to me ❤️❤️❤️❤️

One of the all time best American rock bands. So innovative for the 1960s. Ray Manzarek is one of my favourite musicians.
Need for Speed : Underground 2 The cover of this song is the background music in this game!!! ICONIC!!!
Funny how she started grooving like the 60’s !

You sum Jim Morrison up very quickly without the need for a feature film.
“I’m drunk,I’m nobody. I’m drunk, I’m famous. I’m drunk I’m dead.”
Yes, it's an official video to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the album L. A. Woman. The original version is much longer and much better.
Yep, this is the edited version of the song for AM radio. It leaves out quite a bit, which is a shame.
@@dennis2966 its an insult to the to the song, just say it! 👎
Yeah! this version is sped up and the parts are missing!
@@edsmovie 🥲
Wow I watched that video and the visuals really DO NOT match their style. This one is much better: ruclips.net/video/Ue4mNQbj9V4/видео.html
Groovy! Your dancing is perfect.
1971 it was released and yes the long original version is much better.
@@soon_to_the_moon you are right, it's on the later albums
Agree the original song is so much better and is longer, especially the keyboard solo. This version is so short it is a shame. Please listen to the original.
One of the best songs everrrrrrrrrr
Morrison died young. LA woman my favourite song by the Doors. Also little red rooster from the album "Alive she cried". In fact everything from that album. It just flows.
One of my all-time favorites!😎😎😎
Jim took some inspiration from a real life event, the serial killer Billy Cook who told his father he would live by the gun and roam.
You're right they were "Trippy" I enjoyed this particular song most when I was sitting around stoned. Several songs were more "in you face" and faster.
It is trippy, your reaction is spot on (again). They were innovators for their time, and highly talented.
It’s 60s style! With those funky keyboards!😋✌️Peace, love!
❤️❤️ great reaction, my dear!😁😁 the doors are a very unique blues
ock band!! Lots of good material. The lead singer died in Paris, France on July 3, 1971!! One of the greatest front man of rock ‘n’ roll.🤘🏼🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🏼
You should review a late 60's band called the Hinges. They used to open for The Doors.
''When the Music's Over''' is well worth a reaction
Perfect rainy day song.
Hello from France.
Thank you for your vidéos.👍🏻
Oh, super good, tells my age. The doors were infamous for psychedelic type music. Jim Morrison, the lead singer, was known as 'the lizard king', but don't ask me what that means, maybe figure that out for yourself, Bisscute. He is also part of Club 27 because that's the age he and others died, like Kurt Cobain... Be safe well humble kind..❤❤❤ videos exists.. Great Reaction hope not too late to comment...
NEVER BE NERVOUS BISSCUTE 🙏
one of the best make love songs it provides the beat and everything ...lol
Two other great songs by The Doors: Light my Fire, and People are Strange (my favorite from the band)
The whisper vocals mixed in is so good nobody ever notices.
A nice groove. Great reaction
The DOORS: ROADHOUSE BLUES.
TED NUGENT: STRANGLEHOLD.
WHITE ZOMBIE: THUNDER KISS. When you get a chance.
Great video, keep it up 👍
The Doors actually did make their own music video to this song, one of the few done in that day.
I was 15 when this album came out. My best friend’s brother had just bought it and playing it on his parents awesome stereo…very loud. This song really stuck in my brain!
Hi, I love this band, I recommend their classics:
Light my fire, The crystal ship, Roadhouse blues, break on through (to the other side) and The end.

But they did have films conjoined to the song for marketing if not video tech as we now know it.
All their songs are great, genius even, there are no weak or average ones. headphones on the ear and study.
Music videos generally started in the 80s with MTV. Old bands made little films here and there.
This is my favorite Doors song.
This song has never left my playlist since my first mp3 player Love the vibe❤❤
The Doors were one of those bands that created magic more than music.
Make sure to listen to 'Light My Fire' and 'People are Strange'
Great song great reaction beautiful Bisscute enjoy 👍🇺🇸
Great reaction Biss! The Doors were and are so good. A couple of my fav Doors songs are Roadhouse Blues and People Are Strange
The perfect song for hitchhiking on a stormy night.
Vous allez adorer "Hello i love you" par les Doors.
Peace Frog 🐸 by the Doors. Thank you! 😊
Amazing band amazing choice.thanks for this video.
Awesome. This song is amazing...
In the sixties and seventies, many excellent musicians died well before their time. Another great artist and singer was Marc Bolan, from T-Rex, well worth a listen to. All the best
Had a message pop up via telegram, sorry could not reply as I only have an email, not all that good with modern-day tech.
The doors were so ahead there time...,... And still relevant today....R.I.P jim Morrison
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the support ❤
my favorite band of all time there music is so good an timeless you should listen to backdoor man or any song there all good ty you for doing THE DOORS
I find this song absolutely relaxing and also intestering. Other songs of the doors are much pasionated, but the easy ones I like most.
I was 14 when I bought my first record The Doors. This song came later but every song on their first album was great but I have admit the lyrics to one song on the album, “This is the End” evokes mixed feelings.
For me, the organ work puts this clearly into the psychedelic rock genre, but it also has some very clear jazz influences.
Densmore, the drummer, was trained in jazz.
What Manzarek is playing here is actually an electric piano; not an organ.
I didn't like the Doors when I was a teenager, but loved them more & more the older I got. They are fantastic. They deserve a "deep" dive , Biz.
It was the hight of psychodelic culture in the West 1967-1970; that is why the images, music and lyrics are trippy.
LA Woman is another great tune by The Doors biss, but it's a lot more upbeat, glad you've discovered the band😊
Nice to see you reac to a such band 👍🤟❤️ i love it
😍 by the way I like you twiser 🤟
T shirt !!😂
When the Music's Over by The Doors is a must listen
This song is an "experience" if you let it, it will take you on a ride. Pun intended.
Keep up the great work. :)
The Doors were a big time band from the mid/late 60's until the lead singer and main song writer died - I think Jim Morrison died in 1971.
The Doors are my favorite band of all time! 😎🚬
Хорошая песня ! Спасибо ведущей за комментарий ! ❤
You SHOULD listen to more Doors. They have so many different song styles. Listening to only a couple songs wouldn't give you the full vibe of this band.
Bisscute bonito día
Felicito por animarte a reaccionar a the Doors
Música de los 70's
Me gustan la mayoría de sus canciones, como Love Street, The End, Soft Parade, Hello Love You, wiskey Bar, Hyacinth House, LA Woman, etc etc
Ojalá reacciones a Love Street
Saludos desde Mexico
This song was covered/mixed with the original for one of the Need for Speed games. Snoop Dogg sang on it too
Oh?
Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar) is my favorite Doors song. Its a bit quirky, but i like it.
