by the way, the aperture ring is in the front, Because, unlike most DSLR/ Film SLR's lenses they focus by moving the whole lens as a module, within a focus tube, the other camera lenses move only a pair or group of elements, NOT the WHOLE package at once! the aperture HAS to be moved too, due to lens corrections, as for this focal length the iris has to be at a certain distance to give a desired bokeh and to have no vignetting, as well as the simple fact the only suitable surface on the rear of the lens is on the inner parts of the focus tube which, are moving with the focus; but the knob and the mechanics have to stay still.
I have G85 n sigma 18-35 1.8. This 1.8 is full frame equivalent 2.5. This .95 is full frame equivalent 1.9. I think, its better to go with sigma since constant 2.5 than prime 1.9. Cost effective with very close aparture value..let me know your thoughts
The nokton 25 m F.95 is a little lighter, are you planning to do a review on this Type II as well? Thank you for your thoughts on this two lenses. Excellent review.
I will at some point soon but I do know that the Type II is equally as sharp as the 42.5 and seems perform about the same. very little barrel distortion, really sharp in the center from f1.2 - f11 and the corners catch up at f4. with almost no CA's.
I usually carry two cameras. One with the Sigma 30mm F1.4 that I use for the faster "in the moment" shots and the f.95 shots when I have a little time to compose.
Another great review! You always include photos AND YOUR SETTINGS! And great explanations as to what we are looking at. Why don't we see the top of your head in your videos? Is it too shiny that it throws off specular highlights? :)
I know you hate zooms, but what's the best all around lens you would recommend for sony a6000? I'm trying to get a great quality lens I can pretty much not take off my camera. I know that primes are great, and I have the sel35mmF18, but it doesn't work for landscape and walking around. What would you recommend I could get as an upgrade for the kit lens? What do you think of the zeiss 1670 F4? thanks so much, would really appreciate your feedback!
The 17 works but you have to stop it down to at lease f4 to control the coma. The Rokinon 21mm f1.4 and Rokinon 12mm f2 are the best options I have found so far but they still need to be stopped down to at least f2.8
Who weighs in ounces? What are you, an old pharmacist? A baker? Do you measure depth in leagues too? C'mon man! Jk...it's just funny to hear weight measurements in ounces 'round my parts; I'm sure it's common elsewhere.
Perfect blur? I disagree. That's some choppy bokeh with CA and sharp color transitions. I know you like your lens, but it's far from perfect. It's OK. 6/10.

Great review. I bought the 50m 0,95 and I love it to shoot without flash.
Voigtlander 50mm mft?

This was a phenomenal review
Hi, FYI, the aperture can be set to be clickless too, good for video.
Yes I completely forgot to mention that.

Nice review. I'm itching to expand my m43 prime collection, and this was informative.
Honest and in deep explaining video as always.
I'd like to see a review of that 12mm you put on the scale, and the 75mm as well.
In a few weeks. 12, 45 and 75 all on one review.
You should try the zhongyi 25mm .95 on the pen f. Love mine on the gm5. Just needs some lens corrections in Lightroom to make it sing.
Excellent job...thank you!
Great video! You said you have used it for weddings, how do you like it for that particular use? Thanks

@@LavikkaPhotography Awesome!.. thank you!
You definitely, definitely need a grip on your Pen-F if you're going to use these big Voightlander lenses on it. Get one if you haven't already.
Great review, very informative! Thanks!
rabbit's nose twitching with music, cute. Love it.
awesome review
great review!!! quick question on what you used to paint the letters on the PENF
just black acrylic paint globbed it on a card and scraped over it.
0.95*2=1.9, so out of focus area rendering equivalent to 1.9, not 1.8 (2 being the crop factor between m4/3 and 35mm)
Thank you! Super helpful!
Why color is warm at 0.95-1.2? What the hell is black magic?
Can you please test the Sony 90mm f2.8 macro on an A6300. I'd love to hear your opinion on using it for portraits.
Yes I plan on doing that here in the next few weeks.

Lol! Maybe...
I use my 42.5 wide open no problem.... Sharp enough
Good work!

The 18-105 has better image quality then the 16-70.
MICRO 4/3 SLR MAGIC CINE LENS 25MM T0,95. HOW TO SET UP THIS LENS ON . WHAT SHOULD I DO . PLEASE??!! IT HAS T STOPS NOT F STOPS
The Tstops on this lens are the same as fstops.
Can you add the speed booster to this lens ? and make the tests ? ;)
Sorry. Speed booster won't work on these but I plan on doing a comparison with a speed booster against these lenses.
Lavikka GH4 and Voightlander ....Do i need adapter to conect this 2 things??
No adapter needed.
Thanks bro :)
LOL @ skull for checking sharpness :)
No AF, though. Not sure if you mentioned that.
yes in the very beginning with the lens specs.
AF would ruin this lens
Hi I have both lenses along with the 25mm F/0.95lens. What lens would you recommend for astro photography? Good review

What is the T stop on these lenses? and How do they compare to the Olympus 1.2 pro lenses? Thanks
t1.2 and I don't have the Olympus 1.2 lenses. More of a Sigma art f1.4 guy.
