Rewatched it after a while. This time around I noticed his shoulders are always square to the basket. He tries to always get his feet square aswell. If he can't he adjusts. With that he also pulls up and slightly waits in the air before he releases adjusting his shot according to body position in the air. The older he got the less dribbles he took. He uses alot of pump fakes. He never ever hesitates on a move he makes. Always penetrates into his sweet spot next to the elbows. His pullup is instant after the penetration. He sizes up the defender for a brief moment before making his move but he always knows what he's gonna do first. On the pick and pop he is always off footing. He's a master of ISO because that's what his game is. It's efficient in his own way. He's so dam unique. Gotta love Melo man. Icon.
Everything you said is on point, especially Him knowing what his gonna do before he moves and this would explain why he to took tons Of contested jumpers. He’s aware of his height, so he knows, even He doesn’t catch the defender on the quick pullup, he mostly likely wouldn’t get blocked
Nice eye on the square shoulders. Klay recently said that in his opinion, having your shoulders square to the basket is his most vital aspect when shooting
He has one of the hardest shots to replicate, first of all he’s 6’8. Also look at the lift he used to create on those shots, this is why he went on such a decline, he lost half the lift on his jumper and it made the defence get a couple inches closer to contest the shot.
Say what you want about how melo doesn’t fit with today’s nba, but his one on one game is so pure, he deserves all the fanfare, HOF and remembering. I mean if you play a pick up game, you wish you can pull up like melo, folks on court can only watch you single handily deal away the game. Melo could’ve won championship if selected by pistons back then, even if he remains the same type of player.
Who thinks Melo wouldn't fit into today's NBA? He is a prototypical small-ball 4, and would fit perfectly into a ton of systems playing that role, since lots of teams are running with 6'6 guys at that position now. He just happened to be too old for his game to matter by the time this era happened.
Notice how every time he gets the ball the whole team is on the other side of the play - giving him the whole “mid range game” to play with and do what he does best. Love this style of basketball
Idk why but his style of play is just so badass (along with his name). It’s like not a single defender phases him when they’re in front of him, being able to just rise up over defenders like that is a skill I wish I had (I’m rlly short😭)
Melo is the only player that i never got mad at him from tho long two after Melo I hate to see any player shooting long two idk who is yo fav Melo was different from any other score even from Michael Jordan Melo was pure pure a walking bucket like no other

Is this play style possible to replicate while being short
@@jmgonzales7701Of course. It can be adapted, it’s an skillfull style. Pull up jumper ain’t about size. Look at Iverson.
studied now time to practice

Lol that’s the best part!

I agree...everyone talks about what Melo can’t do but no one ever recognizes what he can do.
Only reason Melo isn’t a killer anymore is because he lost lift on his jumpshot.
He didn’t take care of his body like Lebron.

@@razatiger22 Absolutely no human being alive takes care of his/her body like LeBron.
Melo got one of the smoothest post and pull game up ever
Tears in my eyes man, this is real fucking basketball
This video is a thing of beauty

The best shooting form of all time 🔥 the way he doesn’t always fully extend his arms and the shot goes in still is mesmerizing
He straightens up in the air so effortlessly. That's core strength right there
Carmelo probably can take and beat kids today just with just pull up jumpers and post moves. His scoring ability is an art.
one dribble pull up 0:00
screen pull up 6:40
pump fake pull up 10:17
drive pull up 12:29
It don’t matter who guard Melo. He pulls up, it’s in. 😤
Melos one dribble pull might be one of the best actions in basketball history
Unstoppable
Watch this all day
Carmelo Anthony is cooking MJ one vs one
nah
I appreciate you ! This helps my game just watching how he moves and etc
So beautiful I wanna cry 😢
All he need is one dribble
this video is gold bro!
Absolute master at that one/two dribble pull up!..always thought he was the best pure scorer in the league dude did it at will
love your content. Good video to study their footworks to up our game
Simplicity is genius!
The accuracy was just sooo lethal
melo one of the best shooters of all time
Please do a Carmelo hang dribble video. That would be great !

one dribble is all you need
Beautiful ❤
I like his jumper.
One Dribble Pull Up King.
I admit I haven't been able to appreciate his pull up game as I should.
He never get his due

LOVE YOUR CONTENT. PLEASE ADD HAKEEM FOOTWORK AND HEAD FAKES
I would love to work on Hakeem's game, I will probably stick to 720p unfortunately..
Swish King
No wasted effort in Melo's game
do a James Harden step back compilation
his shooting form is too ugly looking
Could you imagine if he played with Brunson in his prime?
He is a ball stoper
that pace 4:32

Melo Pull Outs
I pull up...
Portland's hiring of Melo was an
act of charity for tax deduction.
Greatest offensive player ever
2:15
B. U. C. K. E. T
You called her melo jumper instead of perfect
These are really open shots tbh
What is a pull up
Basically lift up your body, on basketball u make a very quick change from dribling into jumpshoot. Melo was the prototype and KD perfected it
Tracy McGrady has the best pull up. KD is a second
Top 2 one dribble pull up ever. The only one that comes close is Kobe.
Jerry West has the best pull up jumper.
Z
Melo is so overrated
U are just flat out wrong
