Explo is a great leader. I am friends with him on facebook and i always admire his view points. Well done Andy for bringing him. I have been waiting for this interview for so long. Great program!
He is not a great leader, but a contradictory figure in Ghana. I one of his responses, he was a follower of late President Kramer Nkrumah and in another response, he is not a follower of anybody. What a shame.
Yeah, this is vintage Explo. First ever intellectually engaging interview I have seen on this channel. Could be a great show if the interviewer would read and research before the interviews.
Does one has to read and research to understand that: PNDC was a military government? Your man doesn't deserve the time Andy gave him. Your man Expo is just making noise without having any facts and just insulting
Though I might not agree with on one thing I agree totally with him, and will always agree with him that Africa is not liberated. Explo, keep on spreading the truth. Many people think that once all the countries of Africa have attained independence, it means that Africa is liberated.
This is an honest man......Love his intellectual and brilliant narrative of the horrible events that our nation went thro' ....The truth has to be told....
Honest man without the intellectual honesty to clearly articulate a basket case Ghana was when the IMF comes to the rescue. Ghana GDP was contracting every year prior to 1983. Btw, as a Canadian, l hated IMF, l don’t think that our taxes dollars should go to those bureaucrats in Washington DC who are in the business to ruins third world countries. But please brother, remember what your beloved black star in those days. As we said in French. La critique subjective est toujours plus simple. Subjective criticism is always easy.
old age n emotions are playing with Mr Kofi though I wasn't hapi always reminding how young Andy was since Andy's platform has given him more exposure cos dix my first time of knowing Mr Kofi.well wat do we expect from a man who has come face to face with death itself
Nkrumah was definitely a bolder and more determined person of action than ALL of us put together. The continued relevance of his vision and plans for transforming Africa, indefinitely going into the future, and providing for all resident Africans to have a better life not merely in an imaginary afterlife, make Kwame Nkrumah deathless and much more important than the long dead two prophets, Jesus and Mohammed, whose teachings about an afterlife heaven Africans are so enamoured with.
Do this people listen to themselves,he who trains a terrorist, lives to fight a terrorist.period.betrayers of the Order of the volta.keeo this history to yourself and stop blaming others.ŋukpɛlawo ,Kotoka is a traitor, fine, what about you?.
good thoughts..Ghana has come a long way but is unfortunate what these guys fought against through sacrifice and dedication is worse now in 18th April, 2022
The simple answer to the Host's question as to whether Nkrumah was a dictator is that he was. Period! Nkrumah surely ended up with a restrictive, one-Party system. But he did not begin as one. Neither did he choose to become one out of sheer self-indulgent political ambition. Nkrumah was pushed into that situation by the incessant, atrocious violence that the UP/NLM Opposition was inflicting upon the Nation, and with which they attempted 77 times to assassinate him. As much as Nkrumah's Opposition would like to hold that Dictatorship attribute against him forever, it is unfair to ignore the Opposition's violent approach to take Political Power that led Nkrumah to that end. So, even if Nkrumah had the natural affinity to ruling dictatorially, he was initially, and for most of his rule, constrained by the fear of its rejection by the People and its terrible scar on his reputation. That is why his deputies and other CPP operatives took about 2 years to pre-condition the Population to tolerate his one-Party and President for life concepts. Unfortunately, most of his own deputies believed in that system where Power is entirely vested in only one person. Even his Opposition quietly believed in that, except that when they had lost the chance to elevate the Asantehene to that National Monarch, they were all willing and ready to take the European, especially, British, Constitutional system as a model to contrast it with Nkrumah's eventual de facto Dictatorship. Busia, and J. B. Danquah, in particular, believed in the largely corrupted notion that God installs Kings among People, and therefore any existing Royalty was a divine Ambassador who ought to be worshiped without question. Therefore, their alliance with the Asantehene, the Northern Royalties and others in the UP/NLM were so the quasi-Monarchical system in the country would survive the new popular crave for self-rule and Democracy within which people could vote to choose their Political leaders. That is the main reason why both men preferred Federalism for Ghana versus Nkrumah's preference for Unitary Government. In fact, both Busia and Danquah were Royals and had vested interests in retaining that Traditional Power over the people. And, as once said by one American Congress person that all Politics is local, a Federal system would have given those Opponents of Nkrumah the much cherished opportunity to reserve more control of their subjects to their local Royalties. Nkrumah's perceived Dictatorship has always been closely linked to his implementation of the PDA (Prevention Detention Act) that saw many of his opposing Politicians thrown into jail without adequate due process. That was most unfortunate, and deepened that perception of Nkrumah as a Dictator. However, it must be fully and conclusively emphasized that the PDA was not created by Nkrumah but by the remnant, lingering British Colonial Administration to protect the transition to full native Ghanaian Administering of the country, as expected from the victory by the CPP under NKrumah. Besides, we should consider the whole of Nkrumah's tenure of Political leadership from 1951 to 1966, a period of 15 years, out of which 9 years were all he had full authority to govern as the Head of State. Infact, the Queen of England was still the Head of State after 1957 when Ghana had her Independence, until 1960 when the Nation became a Republic and completely extricated her Political tether from the British Monarchy. Therefore, some even claim that Nkrumah's full reign happened from 1960 to 1966. But the period of Nkrumah's Dictatorship was only from 1964 to 1966. A tighter enumeration would even put it for only a year, as the Coup that overthrew him occurred in February, 1966.
Goldgem1 InfinityX What they don’t teach in the history books or tell you is that we VOTED in a referundum for a one-party State and Nkrumah as president for life. We voted. Ghanaians had experienced democracy in the late 40s and 50s. They had seen the British attempt to manipulate the situation to hold on to power through the Coussie committee (Basically 5 of the so-called big 6 except Nkrumah) because they were ‘moderates’. We experienced the NLM which consisted of the Asante and Northern powers who wanted the British to take over the country again so they won’t be subjected to a black leader; and finally after their attempt at seizing power through the attempted assasination of Nkrumah (resulting in several students killed), alomg with other violent attempts, Nkrumah won the 3rd election to become the leader we deserved. His tears when he asked for the National pledge to be played was real. The man suffered. So when we did a referundum after we become a Republic, Ghanaians chose never to go back to such a toxic multi-party system. “Dictator” is a revitionist, reactionary term the losers of that period called him; and what their pregeny still call him. The PDA came into effect because the CIA was actively conspiring with the former NLM/UGCC and later PP people to oust Nkrumah. It’s hard fighting enemies you cannot see, so when it is clear who Ghana’s enemy were, Nkrumah used what method he had to. Branding that dictatorial is what the West begun calling it; right as they conspired with those people. There’s more than just academic Political science here.
You are very correct! What I hope our young would do is to do their own serious and deep research and thinking, accessing as many varied but reputable sources as possible to find the truth that has been deliberately covered up with high-sounding but empty rhetoric. As much as I love to see true Democracy thrive everywhere around the Globe, I am more in tune with realities and natural pull on life in any Nation I have the privilege to encounter, physically or in other media. Our elitist Politicians who have been demonizing Nkrumah for all his faults, and I admit he had some, often cite his eventual Dictatorial position to support their visceral enmity for him but conveniently leave out the rampant heinous violence their idolized opponents of Nkrumah unleashed upon him to disrupt the Democracy that existed before his resort to the Dictatorship. What is even more hypocritical of our contemporary intellingentsia which, for a long time, kept harping on Nkrumah's tyranny as some natural integral of his Socialist inclinations is that the same folks often use Singapore for comparison when they reach the Economic conditions under Nkrumah. Yet, they would hardly refer to the similar Dictatorship that the Singaporean Prime Minister who led building the Nation exercised, way much longer than Nkrumah ruled. Meanwhile, the same late Singaporean leader, Lee Kuan Yew, claimed to have been a close associate of Nkrumah's and shared critical developmental ideas with him. And, regarding the PDA, what the USA, the principal architect of Nkrumah's fall that fed the Ghanaian opponents of Nkrumah with reasons to get rid of him, now, in the 21st Century, has been detaining many more people under circumstances that are far worse than Nkrumah did in the 60s.
Goldgem1 InfinityX You hit the nail on the head. I do hope the youth of today learn these things and not the Political waffling of so-called elites who have wanted nothing but power they never even knew how to wield. Ghana’s history is written by the losers. Is it any wonder we don’t have a blueprint to get out of our issues when those writing everything down never could do much with power when they had it, but feel the need to vilify leaders who did make significant contributions to this country?
Blackstarline was sold and some high members of society became shareholders. Papa yankey explained to me how some of them got the infos and decided to leave their ship because if they come back to Ghana that will be the end . The ships had then been sold out. It was seldom in the media at that time that most blackstarline ships return empty of sailors ; this was the reasons. The unfortunate sailors who did not get the news before hand were droped and became drunken seamen. I am from takoradi and went to school at sekondi so i know what an talking abaut.
I didn't consider the PNDC as a typical military regime because on 31.12.1981, Flt. Lt. J. J. Rawlings in his speech said "The military is not to take over. We simply want to be part of the decision-making process in this country."
mr nani kofi you need to get your facts right. there was an acute shortage of essential commodities including kenkey and there were always very long queues on daily basis. it was by the limann's intervention that the queues got eliminated. also the NDM was made up of rawlings, the tsikatas, kwesi botway, tekyiwa mainoo, and e.t. mensah.
Coincidentally,I find myself listening to this on this day(November 24th,2020 - Tuesday)which marks exactly 38 years since Rawlings came to Yebo’s house and perpetuated such an act. Also,it’s been 12 days since Rawlings died(it’s still surreal that Rawlings is dead. Not an easy thing for many people to take in,that his death has come early). Life.
Rawlings was an equal opportunity murderer. He didn't discriminate among Ewes, Ashantis, Gas, Akyems, Konkombas, and Nanumbas in his killing spree. That he was on the hunt to kill very sensible, and honest people like Explo should tell Ewes, who defend this thug to the hilt without thought that Rawlings was not for the Ewes, or indeed any other ethnic group in Ghana. He was, and has always been for himself; a dyed in the wool criminal and murderer.
Despite Jerry Rawlings being described by this Nana Koffi as a traitor, he is the well celebrated president in the history of Ghana. Ghana was a destroyed country in the hands of corrupt army Generals and destructive political elements in the 1960s and 70s until AFRC and later PNDC came in to safe Ghana and transformed the country to what it is today.
Exactly. Rawlings handed their ass to them, beat many of them into submission and now, like any cowards, they are calling him all kind of name under the suns. Des imbéciles sans vergogne.
TheMuzikall you are absolutely correct. I cannot begins to tell you how shocked l was in summer 1978 when l crossed Ghana border from Ivory Coast. I was student in Paris at that time. As young kid growing up in Conakry, we all heard a lot about Ghana. That is why when l was vacationing in Abidjan, l went to Ghana for a short visit. The way Ghana was economically decapitated left me in tears. C’était vraiment incroyable et dégoûtant de voir ainsi le Ghana, the black star of Africa in ruin because of greed and human stupidity.
TheMuzikall absolutely. Not just him. Many other host on several web tv have no clue where Ghana was in those days. I remember like yesterday the comptent Ivorian have for Ghanaian at that time, remember,, Ivorian and Ghanaian are Akan brothers. Things were so bad to the point that no one was willing to lend Ghana privately or publicly. Look at Ghana reputation today in Africa and beyond.
Omg this man hilarious 😂😂😂😂 he is too loud haha I like him though.. Well-done lawyer for bringing him but I can't stop laughing 😂 😂 😂 😂 jesus Christ smh lol
I think despite his relatively young age, he can make his shows very great if he took the time to do the research before the interviews. As of now, he seems to know very little about Ghana's political history and the main actors and ideological positions ( and effects of the Cold War) and how these influenced events. This show seems to have the sole objective of denigrating Rawlings, so when the guest on the shows broadens the discourse the host's mind goes blind.
I've commented before and will repeat it; the presenter if even that, is NOT QUALIFIED to present anything even at the Makola Market. Who owns the sitting room he's thinks he is presenting the programme. The Guests are the best he can ever get, but he's absolute rubbish and lacks "attention skills".
The communist and socialist should have leaned from history. This back stabbing happened with Stalin, Mao, Castro...... don't fall for it. Glad you survived. Too many people have been hurt needlessly, hopefully there will be some justice. Andy is bringing out soo much. 👍
It is distortion and one sided reading of history to call Chairman Rawlings a traitor. Rawlings came in at a certain point in time. And the people largely supported what he did. Where is the person who has done better?
Ezekiel, l don't know how old you are but one thing is clear to me. You really don't know what happened under Rawlings from the AFRC era to the PNDC era.
Fwih...Rawlings was the worst blood-drinking wolf. There is nothing to thank him for. His monstory thuggery onto Ghanaians' lives is evedent clearly in all the testimonies of all who saw it all. If he did good in some areas that you one thinks such overlap his evils, the colonialism has also done remarkable stances in the areas of civic development and for fairness if people like Rawlings should be appreciated, Europeans should also be appreciated. We do not choose leaders on the merit of expecting them to do both good for and bad against the people. That is rubish! Rawlings should go straight to hell so long as he died unrependant publically before the faces of his acts ache-hearted Ghanaians.
It is not an opinion. You were over talking your host and telling stories he did not ask about. You could not even answer a simple yes or no question of whether Nkrumah was a dictator or not. Instead, you were telling unnecessary stories. Next time remain calm at all times and talk only when you have to. . You came off as overly emotional and hyper-defensive sorry.
Explo must arrange his story and facts in logical sequence. He is winding around the whole place. Though he has an interesting and frightening story, a narrow escape from Rawllings' grip.
Divine, people like you would always feel uncomfortable when the murderous deeds of Rawlings are mentioned. I don't think any of your relatives were murdered by Rawlings & his murder squads. Please, have some sympathy & respect for those whose parents, uncles, brothers, friends & other close associates were brutalised & murdered. Many of these families didn't even have the honour of getting the bodies of their loved ones to Bury.
This program will let the young leran so this stupid coup and oppression should not ever happen people don't know what really happen rawlings keep lieying and deceiving
Andy D, your shows are always about Rawlings and it's gradually brewing hatred against him. Do you have a score to settle with Rawlings? Top journalist in the world discuss today's government and the way forward not Wiston Churchill, Roosevelt or Stalin. The Brits discus Brexit and Theresa May. USA discuss Trump and the many issues about him. Russia discuss Putin, war in Syria and his Nuclear weapons. Please leave Rawlings alone and concentrate on Akuffo Addo and his government. I support Nana. Ruling a country like Ghana is not easy.
THESE PEOPLE ARE ALL FAKE AND CHAMPAIGN SOCIALISTS. THEY TALK SOCIALISM, YET THEY GET POWER AND THEY STEAL TO AMKE THEMSELVES RICHER THAT CAPITALIST POLITICIANS. SOCIALISTS IN GHANA HAVE HAD MORE SHARE OF POWER IN GHANA'S HISTORY, YET LOOK AT WHERE GHANA IS REGARDING SOCIAL ISSUES; EDUCATION, HEALTH ETC. AFRC/P/NDC RULED GHANA FOR 27 YEARS AND THEY ONLY ENRICHED THEMSELVES THROUGH STEALING GHANA'S RESOURCES FOR THEMSELVES. THE FAKE SOCIALISTS SHOULD GIVE US A BREAK.
@@BessehX Explo, how do you justify the 31st Dec coup given the fact that Limann and his administration didn't have ample time to turn things around. I find it very hypocritical for you guys to dump all the blame on Rawlings.
Today Rawlings and wife owns so much establishments and business in Ghana ..he was allow freedom to live in Ghana with his family ..his guardian angel is president kuffour..he was bless to have a compassionate president to take over his presidency 😪
Nice interview but unfortunately Andy it’s about time you focus on current issue. Why do I have a feeling you dislike Rawlings. It’s clearly showing on your day to day interview. Your show is brewing so much hate for Rawlings. You should either confront him and interview or we got to move on to current affairs. We want to hear the good and bad things our current government is doing on our behalf. Thank you.
Mr. Nani kofi, people like you are the cost of the problems Ghanaians are facing today because of you guys selfish interest. Anyway you are just disconnected individual and no need to take you seriously.
John Amihere, if i may ask you, give me specifics. What does this guy Nani kofi has contributed to the development of our dear country Ghana? He is just a corn man who wanted to be somebody some time ago. He thinks he could find his way to become who he wants to be. I think Nani kofi came to the studio to have fun. Everything he is saying is like a child narrating the story grandma said to him. He can't even remember anything. It seems he picked up stories from somewhere and put them together. His narration was full of lies and disconcerted pieces. This man is a disgraceful and he shouldn't have been there for the interview, he doesn't have his facts straight. Watch the video very carefully and you will understand that he is just guessing lies, because he is not sure about what he is saying. Like i said, sometime ago history was on the shelves of a particular people, today it's not like. We can't allow someone like Nani kofi to lie on social media and get away with it. You can believe him because you entitle to your opinion. Some of us know what time is.
Explo is a great leader. I am friends with him on facebook and i always admire his view points. Well done Andy for bringing him. I have been waiting for this interview for so long. Great program!

I don't get tired watching this man.He is simply good
Sadly Andy as a lawyer is not a very good listener. How many times is Explo supposed to explain points which he obviously can’t comprehend?
Andy is not focussed -he is not listening to Explo .He is Also not informed enough to conduct the interview
Good job Andy. Keep up the great work.
ANOTHER CLASSIC FROM ANDYTY KINDLY KEEP THEM COMING VERY INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE
Explo! Good show!! The fire is still blazing!!!
Yeah, this is vintage Explo. First ever intellectually engaging interview I have seen on this channel. Could be a great show if the interviewer would read and research before the interviews.
Somebody up here thinks that I am the most unintelligent person to have appeared on the programme.
It shows the magnitude of the task before us to educate our people.
Enormous
Does one has to read and research to understand that: PNDC was a military government? Your man doesn't deserve the time Andy gave him. Your man Expo is just making noise without having any facts and just insulting

The simple answer to the Host's question as to whether Nkrumah was a dictator is that he was. Period! Nkrumah surely ended up with a restrictive, one-Party system. But he did not begin as one. TheMuzikall l was in Ghana in 1978. What l saw then will disgust me for the rest of my life. Rawlings for all his faults, did his best for Ghana.
Facts are facts most of their stories line up
Omg this man hilarious 😂😂😂😂 he is too loud haha I like him though.. Well-done lawyer for bringing him but I can't stop laughing 😂 😂 😂 😂 jesus Christ smh lol
he is so emotional
You guys really don't understand passion along with facts
cmon y’all stop giving the guy a hard time .Hes a lawyer for fuck sakes not a journalist he’s doing his best
The host is not qualified he is a small boy his interviews are not good
He didn't know that Chris Atim was not in the PNDC after my arrest
I think despite his relatively young age, he can make his shows very great if he took the time to do the research before the interviews. As of now, he seems to know very little about Ghana's political history and the main actors and ideological positions ( and effects of the Cold War) and how these influenced events.
This show seems to have the sole objective of denigrating Rawlings, so when the guest on the shows broadens the discourse the host's mind goes blind.
Explo is too much great . You dey round Mr Explo
Some people cannot take it oooo
Thank you for tilling the true store, I appreciate your effort.
10:47 I DIED..!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Sedinam Ahiadzro n
Shame on you
The host must join joy news tv. To unveil this mysteries
i love this guy .. hhhahahahahahaha
Please try to be attentive with his submissions.
People are stooid for not beliving this man, or they should go to east legon and see how Rawlings snd wifey linving
The communist and socialist should have leaned from history. This back stabbing happened with Stalin, Mao, Castro...... don't fall for it.
Glad you survived. Too many people have been hurt needlessly, hopefully there will be some justice.
Andy is bringing out soo much. 👍
Am not enjoying this man he does not answer questions with too much prompts
Please.....respect is a must in African communities
Rawlings cannot be a Traitor. We Africans never forget. RIP my Hero 🥸
Rawlings can never be a traitor.
Whoever calls him a traitor is either a fool or a liar, or both.
This man is just yelling making it difficult to follow his submission....Just breathe and relax and you will be just fine
shame
This man is kicking about the bush.....
your opinion
Call JJ any name, he is most smartest individual to strewed your ass bailing the poor Ghana from your masters.
Bad interviewer...listen to the man and ask questions..Dont take entrenched personal positions about people or ideologies
The man is talking rubbish for not accepting PNDC was a military government!!!!!!
This guy is not honest. Nkrumah wa a a dictator
the man is way too emotional. the interviewer should not allow his guest to take over the interview and go off tangent.
You are entitled to your opinion
It is not an opinion. You were over talking your host and telling stories he did not ask about. You could not even answer a simple yes or no question of whether Nkrumah was a dictator or not. Instead, you were telling unnecessary stories.
Next time remain calm at all times and talk only when you have to. . You came off as overly emotional and hyper-defensive sorry.
Ahh well said aden.... He made my lawyer speechless 😂😂😂awurade 😂😂😂😂
@@Laladanso1 As much as I like Andy channel he need to do more research on said topics before asking questions, so not to repeat it's over and over.

He claims he’s a follower of Nkrumah but then go on to say he doesn’t follow anyone lol pure hater
Explo must arrange his story and facts in logical sequence. He is winding around the whole place. Though he has an interesting and frightening story, a narrow escape from Rawllings' grip.
think*
My brother, you are narrating a fabricated story. You know and yu said it
Divine, people like you would always feel uncomfortable when the murderous deeds of Rawlings are mentioned.
Was there Secondary Technical in kumasi ? I'm old student of K. T. I. Kumasi Technical institute. I think there wasn't any kumasi SecTech. Pls.

How undemocratic was the colonial structure that this man keep referring to? Nkrumah was a democratically elected president.
Your show is not moving Ghana forward. It's brewing hatred.
WHAT? ? ?
This program will let the young leran so this stupid coup and oppression should not ever happen people don't know what really happen rawlings keep lieying and deceiving
ohh chaley the guys voice like he was strangled lol
Andy D, your shows are always about Rawlings and it's gradually brewing hatred against him. Do you have a score to settle with Rawlings? Top journalist in the world discuss today's government and the way forward not Wiston Churchill, Roosevelt or Stalin. The Brits discus Brexit and Theresa May. USA discuss Trump and the many issues about him. Russia discuss Putin, war in Syria and his Nuclear weapons. Please leave Rawlings alone and concentrate on Akuffo Addo and his government. I support Nana. Ruling a country like Ghana is not easy.

Everyone describe JJ a traitor. JJ why? He's too greedy
Why was Nkrumah overthrown? They are all focus on Rawlings n these same people will praise when when he is no more
This guy is so defensive.

Sir,Just relax breath in and out and talk it's look like you came full attack and fight .
No, Joe Mens, that is my usual style
Joe that's very Nkwasiasem. Is called passion ..
@@BessehX Explo, how do you justify the 31st Dec coup given the fact that Limann and his administration didn't have ample time to turn things around. I find it very hypocritical for you guys to dump all the blame on Rawlings.
Rawlings also sold the GIHOC shoe factory at Atonsu,Kumasi in the early 90’s i think
Today Rawlings and wife owns so much establishments and business in Ghana ..he was allow freedom to live in Ghana with his family ..his guardian angel is president kuffour..he was bless to have a compassionate president to take over his presidency 😪
A big fool
Just like u
Shame 🙄
Nice interview but unfortunately Andy it’s about time you focus on current issue. Why do I have a feeling you dislike Rawlings.
It’s clearly showing on your day to day interview.
Your show is brewing so much hate for Rawlings. You should either confront him and interview or we got to move on to current affairs.
We want to hear the good and bad things our current government is doing on our behalf.
Thank you.
Another hater
Mr. Nani kofi, people like you are the cost of the problems Ghanaians are facing today because of you guys selfish interest. Anyway you are just disconnected individual and no need to take you seriously.
Where is my selfish interest? That sacrifice, the humility, the modesty? Kindly, investigate.
Rawlings fan boys are not interested in knowing what happened
Listen to this man who was there .
Listen to someone who was there for
Facts !
You’re just a fan boy
You are worrying yourself
Papa J has always refered to the revolution
Bitterness is killing some of you slowly
I don't know what I am talking about. You can google search and find out . I am not a hidden person
Ayigbe man has decided to distroy his own ayigbe brother.
