Well done JoyNews. Ghanians always want to sweep everything under the carpet and pretend as if nothing ever happend. Always forgive and forget. You can't forgive and forget evil, useless killings done on to human beings. Rawllings and the others should be jaild. This should serve as a deterrent to never do any evil crime to any human being. You have to name and shame the ghanian because he can never take accountability for his actions.

The oil price increases of 1974 & 1979 took a great toll on the economies of non-oil producing countries such as Ghana. This was brought about by the Arab-Israeli conflicts/war. Prices of all imports sky-rocketed. This brought about the hyper-inflation, scarcities, hardships, impoverishment that we experienced. If we did not take into account external factors on the economy, all policies were bound to be wrong. Human rights abuses, including bombing of markets, whipping of market women, killing of innocent people, etc. were all myopic. We found scape-goats in the Army Generals who had staged coups d'etats anyway, in 1972 & 1966. Going forward, we need to take into account external factors. Covid-19 is one.

For a week or so now, I've been watching and reading all related materials. In some accounts, Rawllings was the bad guy. In others, you can tell they are speaking from a place of anger and their parts of story sounded fabricated or exaggerated. Shouldn't that be enough to make someone want to clear his name? Please find him to give us the in-depth of the brutalities the AFRC meted on people. I hope he is happy being with his children and wife?

Yeah, but for me if u take a critical look at their situation, I blame Ordartey Willington, Gen. Akuffo and co, because they were all in the smc2 government, and they think Gen Acheampong was messing up, then after, ordartey and Akuffo forced him to resign unceremoniously, they shouldn't stay in power but handover quickly, because the 5bn soldiers didn't like Akuffo and therefore were angry with how they disgraced him as their formal unit commander, and this was a major factor for the 1:14:34 coup.

You needn't lie because you're an Akan
Boakye himself claims he was head of government and Rawlings was like a ceremonial president. But the dramma here is that, they were all young men at the time who found their way into something way bigger than them. As a matter of fact, they were all afraid who should sign for the executions.
Life is not meant to be understood. It's a misery. The snr most members of the council..
      Maj. Mensah poku
      Maj. Mensah Gbedemah
      Lt cdr. Henry Apaloo
      Flt Lt. Jerry Rawlings
Are all dead now. In fact Lt cdr Apaloo diesd same year in an accident after the hand over . Boakye Gyan is the only one around now. Baa Achamfour as well. It's at this point that they knew they have fucked up. They fought for nothing. Rawlings only took all they respect and labelled as hero. How painful must that be?
