To know about far western history you can look for history of Kumaon and Garhwal as all these places used to be under one king and speak similar languages in the past(even today i guess)

@Koomon Nepali When you say Lichhavi or Malla are Kshatriya or Chhetri, it does not mean they are ancestors of today's Khas Chhetri like Thapa, Rana, Basnet, Karki etc. In fact when we also speak of Thakuri dynasty (with king's like Amshuverma) of Kathmandu Valley, that does not mean ancestors of today's Khas Thakuri like Shah, Shahi, etc.
What is important to know that the descendants of those groups are today's Newars. People should know that Newar is not a single ethnic group and it is a conglomeration of various groups and castes. Among those, today's Chathariya Shrestha are the descendants of the Lichhavis and Mallas. Chathariya itself is a derivative of Kshatriya and Newars refer to their kings and nobles as Thaku juju (Thakuri raja). So clans within the Chathariyas like Malla, Pradhan, Patravanshi, Rajvanshi, Raghuvanshi, Amatya, Gwanga (Rathaur), etc. are believed to be the descendants of those ancient Malla and Lichhavi.

Malla, Lichhavi are Khetriyas. Anshubarma himself was thakuri. Newar haru Pani Chettri, bahun jastai dekhinxan, khasai farak paidaina.

It's not as complex as bhramin, chettri,etc thing but there's a thing like farmer caste which is Jyapu(eg:Maharjan, koju,etc), Kasai caste or nyacha in newari which is Shahi, khadgi, etc. There's Shrestha (Shrestha, Pradhan, Joshi,etc). And there's so many more. Let's just say caste system exist in Newar which is still goes on till this day when in comes to marriage. Other than that there's no thing like untouchable caste like bahun, chettri people have. Also Biska Jatra bhaktapur ko manxe haru ko major jatra ho. Kathmandu ko Indra jatra main jatra ho and lalitpur ko machindranath jatra main jatra ho. Aarko yo caste Shah haru le suru gareko haina. Yo Shah haru vanda aagadi nai thiyo, yo either Malla or lichivi kaal ma or might be before that suru vako thiyo. Thaha vako aanusar Shah ko pala ma yo Shrestha haru ma naya family name haru introduce vako thiyo so that they can still recognize each other with thier family name (it was like secret code) as many Newars were running and trying to hide from PN Shah. But yo family name thing Shah haru ko pala vanda aagadi nai exist vako hunu parxa because the family name is considered very important and mustn't forget thing among Shrestha as it helps us know who are related to each other. Also Newar haru ma Shrestha haru le Shrestha lai nai luauxa which is why so many family name exists among Shrestha or so many Shrestha family exists. Also same with other caste like Jyapu and nyacha, Jyapu le Jyapu haru nai bihe garxa and nyacha le nyacha. They took probably have similar vast different family among themselves. Because of these caste existing many people mostly Newars tries to say that Newar is a community not a caste like bahun, chettri,etc

Besides you didn't even know that caste system existed in Newar community and the fact that you openly said biska jatra is most important festival for newar people when it only applies for bhaktapur ko newar. This especially goes for old generation people since we new generation don't even bother with it often. They know which caste are Shrestha, which caste are Jyapu, which are Nyacha, etc. So many old generation newar people would catch you lying easily when you try to claim that your surname belongs to Shrestha rather than other caste. Even about this surname thing, the old generation people literally will tell you the place you live in just by telling them the family name of you live in same area like purano Thimi area, bhaktapur durbar area,etc. They just know about it too much. Hunu tw tmile newar ko barema tei Sathi haru sanga Halka phulka suneko hola. So I don't want to bother arguing with you because to me it seems like you don't really know much and somethings will really be unbelievable to you unless you witness it yourself for you to believe. Nice video. Can you also make a video on current decendents of these dynasties. It is said that Current bijukchey are decendent of Lichhavi as lichhavis were called bijak. Thaku, rathore, rawal, piya etc are decendent of Thakuri kings collectively called Thaku juju. While Newa Malla, Pradhananga, Rajlawat and some Shresthas are decendents of Malla kings. These all three groups come under chathariya Shrestha who wears or used to wear Janai.
Please read history properly. Chathariya Shresthas are Khyatriya barna and some brahmin like joshi karmacharya. Even during muluki ain made by Ranas they were kept under twice born as tagadhari but matwali. I hv discussed about decendents of licchavis and mallas from many historian. There are some newar malla whose surname is still malla like rajendra malla of nepal chamber of commerce. But most newar malla has written pradhananga as surname. You can check with them. While there are some verma newars too amd thaku too. They r descendents of thakuri dynasty. Licchavis case is little tough but when analysed in Bhaktapur they were found to be bijukche. These all caste fall under chathariya shrestha. Later especially newars from outside valley irrespective of caste started putting their surname as shrestha. There are many panchthariya shrestha which are of valshya varna including the converts. These r nt allowed janai. But I hv seen most of chathariya shrestha is provided janai during bratamanda
@@sikasbkoju3715Haha. I dun knw where u got the info. U mus hv been mistaken for Shrestha as surname and Shrestha as caste group. Earlier Shrestha were called Syasya in newari meaning noble. Then in 2nd half of malla era it was sanskritized to Shrestha meaning noble. People did nt hv Shrestha as surname but were collectively called Shrestha/ syasya and divided into chathariya and panchthariya. Just like Chhetri hv surnames like thapa basnet pande etc but some ppl hv surname chhetri itself. Same goes to Shrestha who earlier had many occupational surnames but later changed their surname as Shrestha. They were in power during malla regime. Chhathari shrestha includes following surnames- Pradhan who were chief minister, amatya ministers and army chief, joshi astrologer, rajbhandari royal treasurer, vaidya doctors and malla kings. Later many newars specially outside valley used shrestha as surname while in sikkim many used pradhan as surname irrespective of caste. Thats y in the chhathariya society surnames like shrestha and pradhan while marrying recheck their ancester root while for surnames like amatya malla joshi etc its more favourable. Later during rana and panchayat era the same chhathariya were kept as bhardar or durbar ko sacheeb. They then self isolated themselves from other newa and identified as seperate and was influenced by rana culture. But maintained religious culture wearing janai specially in bartamamda
@@sikasbkoju3715Also I hv seen many Shresthas wear Janai. Many Shresthas hd some other surnames 3 generations back. But due to ease converted the surname as Shrestha. I guess u r koju and koju too comes under Chhathariya Shrestha. I dun knw if u guys wear janai or not but in our family and in our mamaghar we wear janai. Chhathariya Shresthas were in power since last 2000 years and due to our behaviour and opportunist nature most newa dun like chhathariya. Plus chhathariyas got influenced by rana and shah culture and ignored newa culture. Thats y other newa has negative sentiments towards them. Forgetting the roots is nt good but at the same time being opportunist has made them always remain in power. Hard reality.
@@sikasbkoju3715 Read history properly. There are surnames like rajlawat, hada, rathore, chauhan, piya, rawal etc under chhathariya newar community. Their ancestors are rajpoot who migrated to bhaktapur aftr muslim invasion of rajasthan. Also there are descendents of hari simha deva thakur/ rajpoot king of simraunngadh who came to bhaktapur once invaded by muslims. These are got absorbed into newa community under chhathariya Shrestha. If u knw ranjit malla's wife was also rathode of thimi. Similarly tirahut mishra bhrahmin and kanyakubj upadhyaya brahmin were brought to nepal by jayastithi malla and given priest work here. These are the majority of hindu temple priests in ktm valley. They keep surname as sharma and rajopadhyaya respectively and are called newa brahmin. Another brahmin group acharya/achaju and daibhagya/joshi also came to nepal but are were nt given priestly status hence were absorbed in Chhathariya Shrestha group. Achaju- karmacharya and guruwacharya became priest of taleju, chandeshwori and some shakti peeth while joshi were astrologer. All of these wear janai as Im evident. What we shd undrstand is Newa is nt single ethnic group but group of inhabitants who lived in nepa valley/ktm valley before unification. Which includes buddhist newa, hindu newa which has all four varna bhrahmin, kstyatria, vaishya and sudra. Also there r some muslims which consider them as newa and has association of muslim newa.
