Though the author tries to sanitise the Shahs and thus loses some objectivity, he has nonetheless done a commendable job in breaking down the gruesome Nepali history into manageable essays. What a hellhole it was back then. And it isn’t a lot better today.
A grey character, I will say. But very important because his decisions still affects us today. Be it our map or sughauli treaty or the way for Rana rulers
