If what goes around comes around Vegeta would have been offed by one of his comrades by now, unfortunately karma doesn't always punish evil... Man, wouldn't that be a great world to live in. Where everything really is fair.
This is the same dude that used guerilla tactics, teamed up with Gohan and Krillin, and used Senzu beans against Freeza's crew, then one saga later suddenly got on his Saiyan Pride and "a warrior's death" b.s. about honorable and fair fights.
I'm not so sure. We've seen how ruthless Nappa can be, yes, but his personality isn't drawn to be cold and heartless, at least not to his own comrades--he's only doing his job for the most part. Vegeta's personality was molded from the ground up by watching his own father handle (if you ignore the newer lore) pillage planets and being raised under Frieza; I highly doubt Nappa was even around much to stay by Vegeta's side despite being his guardian.
I think Number 2 is the most likely reason. Nappa had been paralyzed from the waist down. As someone who was apart of a warrior race, he no longer had any use. I believe even Vegeta stated this, though I may be wrong. If Nappa hadn't of foolishly attacked Gohan and Kuririn, forcing Goku to cripple him, I highly doubt Vegeta would have killed him. In some ways, even though Vegeta seemed to enjoy murdering his commrade, he did give him a proper Saiyan's death. And he killed two birds with one stone - getting rid of Nappa while also showing Goku that he meant business. All in all, I don't think there's much more to it. And it wouldn't surprise me in a bit that Akira Toriyama had not yet thought of the medical machines. In fact, this is also sort of supported after Vegeta is hit in the eye, telling Goku that he ruined his beautiful face, suggesting the injury would have left a scar.
Excellent analysis of a subject that has never really been dealt with. I love this kind of content on old content, little treated, and seen from the psychological angle!

I always interpreted Vegeta killing Nappa as nothing more than a demonstration of power. That's it. Because Vegeta never cared about Raditz, Nappa, nor his own father. Infact GOHAN is the very first sayian or person he's ever cared about. Followed by Bulma then trunks then Goku then Goten and Bra.
Naahhh Goku is definitely b4 Bulma on that list of names especially after Vegeta gave him that speech about the Saiyan race b4 he fought Frieza on Namek.
I always thought that it was mostly to show how selfish and ruthless Vegeta really was. He didn't care about the Saiyan race really, only what it meant for himself. In the same fashion, he didn't care for his lifelong companion Raditz or his arguable father figure Nappa. Once he outlived his usefulness, Vegeta god rid of him.
Nappa was too weak, while at the same time too dumb and out of control that even if healed and somewhat strenghtened thx to the zenkai boost, he would be only trouble.
I think that Vegeta at that point didn’t care about the Saiyans as people, but more of what he believed the Saiyans stood for; ideology, concept, culture, etc. Not the people themselves.
Well, Vegeta might have learned this from his father. If you remember how trigger happy King Vegeta was portrayed. He killed his fellow saiyans with very little reasons such as if they just unpleased him. So I guess Vegeta just saw himself living up to his father's legacy.
Why did he kill Nappa? One word: Pride. You did an excellent job listing the reasons why. I honestly can't think of another more eloquently.. but they all come down to pride. Pride doesn't care if it stands alone. Pride lives in the moment. Pride doesn't consider those around them; only itself. Pride doesn't consider consequences. It acts it simply wants to.. and always in its own self-interest. And ultimately.. pride destroys all. Even itself. Pride BLINDS. All we need do is consider the one that originated it. But what we should never forget: pride... does not mean stupid. Good vid once again, my brother.
Hi Yahucanon, Thanks a lot for your words. Yes Pride is the core reason behind all of the reasons, i agree. Pride is a horrible thing, and when I become aware of it in my character, I am looking to God to deliver me from it.

@KaioshinCurt I'm writing a backstory for Beerus, and it'll be unlike anything the fanbase has ever read before (not to mention that I'm dedicating it to Akira Toriyama). What do you think I should put in?
Good video KaioshinCurt! I think Vegeta killing Nappa comes down to one reason. This reason is that he despises weakness, even his own and is set off and kills Nappa, because of the weakness he displays.
I love how vegeta goes from 18000 to 24000 in his first zenkai boost but goku goes from 180000 against ginyu to 3 million against frieza. That's 1566.666% power increase... What a zenkai boost that was
wow - so glad mate you connected with God. Yes I will continue to put Jesus in the videos. You are blessed in Jesus, our Lord, saviour and fellow brother. Ask Jesus to save you from anything that you are struggling with
I figure with Nappa seemingly being paralyzed, Vegeta didn't fancy dragging him across space to get him healed. Plus I think on Namek the healing chambers had only just been improved so perhaps Vegeta didn't think there was a way to heal him. Plus it would be embarrassing having to explain what happened, losing to a lower class Sayain, it would make Vegeta look bad too, the injured reminder, even had Vegeta won. Plus lets not forget that Vegeta tried to recruit Goku first, had Goku agreed he would need a ship. Can't see Vegeta sharing what little space his ship already had, so he'd have to take Nappa's.
I think these are all right. Like the part about putting him out his misery and his ruthlessness. I think everything that happened made the anger build til he couldnt hold and then after he was too prideful to admit he was wrong and then later he realized nappa was only bad news to bring back
Well I do actually think the Devil uses Dragon Ball to distract people and create idols. So I'm trying to make Jesus known as higher than Dragon Ball is people's lives. Dragon Ball will not save us, only Jesus will :)

Another thing worth noting is that, during the Cell Arc, Vegeta comments that from his perspective, it's odd to not kill someone who annoys you when Kuririn is shocked at 17 killing his creator and "father" of sorts Gero and even compares it to the Saiyan way of life. He even mentions (though removed from the Viz translation) that this includes parents or their children. From the perspective of Saiyan society, what Vegeta did was simply the norm.

I am saiyan. You are a Kaioshin. You are training my mind and soul with your vids. thanks. I just disagree this time with the part you said vegeta wanted immortality to kill people because he enjoyed it. Not true. The reason why he wanted to be inmmortal was because although vegeta did not possed Ki control yet he was about to discover the zenkai power, this is he knew he was getting stronger each time and he calculated how much longer he needed to live in order to defeat freezer and he came to the conclusion that he had to be live many, many years; immortality sounded as a shortcut in some way. He wanted to defeat freezer he was tired of following orders. Vegeta was 30 he wanted to be a man of his sound that is why he send out Radditz looking for kakarot, he wanted more saiyans to beat freezer.
6:16 a threat to who? He clearly casually destroyed that city a second before Vegeta talks to him. Then Nappa attacked Vegeta without saying anything. Not exactly the best time for a heart to heart.
Kaioshin Curt, I definitely have to say it's an unexpected surprise to see chapter and verse in a dragon ball channel. I really appreciate the connection there. Are you a christian?
"He wanted to end his pain quickly" Que the shot of Nappa's broken body twisting and morphing in horrible pain as he is not only slowly burned/vaporized, but explodes from the beams pressure. "Yeah... Painless, lol." (This is not a jab at you, I love your content, just thought this was funny enough to point out.
That verse about bad company bringing bad habits reminds me of a verse I learned a long time ago. Alma 41:10 "Do not suppose, because it has been spoken concerning restoration, that ye shall be restored from sin to happiness. _Behold, I say unto you, wickedness never was happiness"_
Toriyama is just showing us. Vegeta is as ruthless as we can be. (Killing his partner who he was with ever since he was a kid) And even him can change for the best person.
The 8 reasons you stated why Vegeta killed his partner are 100 percent correct, enough said , if Vegeta had sparred nappa this would made an unusual turn of events, But I will admit that is one of my favorite villains, but would've have been practical if dragon ball storylines had continued with Vegeta and nappa or Goku and Vegeta?
3. Vegeta and Nappa formed a secret pact. Me: Since when? If I recall, Nappa looked relieved when he was getting help from Vegeta, and the fear on his face wasn't an act. Credit to where it is done, Dragon Ball Z Budokai did acknowledge the thought of Vegeta's compassion towards his former comrade, noting to Goku that his death was honorable (of course, this was a what-if scenario)--Vegeta isn't the type to express his feelings and puts on a facade and other games and anime spin-offs have acknowledged this and showed Nappa bearing a vendetta against Vegeta for killing him. We also need to take into account the scale of power. While Nappa wasn't as powerful as Vegeta, if fully concentrated in a match and boosted by a Zenkai boost, he can become a potential threat, as shown in the fight against Goku-- the fighter was even acknowledged by the earth raised Saiyan. Many points that Nappa had made when replying to Vegeta about half-breed Saiyans led to Vegeta dismissing his ideas. Not because he found the idea ridiculous because he feared being usurped by his own kind. If under the circumstances and Nappa's power level increased during his battle on Earth, he probably was real close to Vegeta's. The Dragon Ball wiki added that by the time Goku arrived, Nappa had a power of 7500 possibly (of course, they used addition and multiplication rather than algebraic fractions.) So if going by the formula you have presented, Nappa's next Zenaki boost would literally be... OVER 9000 (9,975)
So no one is going to turn to Vegeta's tearful confession to Goku as he was laying there mocking Frieza for the ass-whooping Goku was about to hand him for reasons why he killed Nappa!?!? I mean if he was as ruthless and cold-blooded as they portrayed him to be...well...Goku said it best: "Heart of stone can't shed tears the way you did. You must have been holding this back your whole life."
America: "Sayin" Wherebout bro is from: "Sighin" Actually when I was young I had trouble spelling it because of how we pronounce it. I spelled it like Sayian. Wen it's Saiyan.
Nappa, "Why do you sound so bored?" Vegeta, "Because, it's still not a threat." Nappa, "But-!" Vegeta, "To Me. Don't worry, we'll wish for immortality. Then no one can stop us." Goku, "But...you killed Piccolo.." Vegeta, "Your point?" Goku, "Well without him the Dragon balls don't work." Vegeta, "...!" Nappa, "ohhh and I totally killed that guy! Oh well, at least we had fun getting here! Remember the bug planet? Vegeta? Vegeta?! Veg-AHHHHHH!!!!" (Explosion)
@@KaioshinCurt Perhaps. I always envisioned that after being sent down to Hell, Nappa went on a tirade destroying parts of it to let out his anger. Quite sad really--FighterZ didn't cut him some slack either--becoming the very fodder that you had theorized the Saiyan would become.

You're welcome - I didn't think of these points, so well done and I agree with you. Vegeta clearly did the math ahead of time :)
6:16 a threat to who? He clearly casually destroyed that city a second before Vegeta talks to him. Then Nappa attacked Vegeta without saying anything. Not exactly the best time for a heart to heart.
Gone from Dragon Ball video to Church 🙏
Kaioshin Curt, I definitely have to say it's an unexpected surprise to see chapter and verse in a dragon ball channel. I really appreciate the connection there. Are you a christian?
The point in bringing Napa back was to show that vegeta grew as a character
"He wanted to end his pain quickly"
Que the shot of Nappa's broken body twisting and morphing in horrible pain as he is not only slowly burned/vaporized, but explodes from the beams pressure.
"Yeah... Painless, lol."
(This is not a jab at you, I love your content, just thought this was funny enough to point out.
(Killing his partner who he was with ever since he was a kid)
And even him can change for the best person.
Vegeta never cared about Saiyans. He’s literally tried to murder every Saiyan he’s ever met.
OVER 9000 (9,975)
I like your reasoning, are you Dutch by any chance?
he wanted to show how strong he wa and trying to strike fear into them
So no one is going to turn to Vegeta's tearful confession to Goku as he was laying there mocking Frieza for the ass-whooping Goku was about to hand him for reasons why he killed Nappa!?!?
I mean if he was as ruthless and cold-blooded as they portrayed him to be...well...Goku said it best:
"Heart of stone can't shed tears the way you did. You must have been holding this back your whole life."
There's no retirement plan for a warrior race it was a mercy kill
LOL Bro is that chi chis outfit?
Nappa insubordination is why Vegeta used him to make an example to out of to Goku becuz following that Vegeta offers Goku a spot at his side .....
America: "Sayin"
Wherebout bro is from: "Sighin"
Actually when I was young I had trouble spelling it because of how we pronounce it. I spelled it like Sayian. Wen it's Saiyan.
Here's the short version:
Nappa was no use to Vegeta anymore
I think Vegeta killed Nappa as the same reason you replace a broken/duel sword. "A broken/duel sword is a useless sword"
Nappa, "Why do you sound so bored?"
Vegeta, "Because, it's still not a threat."
Nappa, "But-!"
Vegeta, "To Me. Don't worry, we'll wish for immortality. Then no one can stop us."
Goku, "But...you killed Piccolo.."
Vegeta, "Your point?"
Goku, "Well without him the Dragon balls don't work."
Vegeta, "...!"
Nappa, "ohhh and I totally killed that guy! Oh well, at least we had fun getting here! Remember the bug planet? Vegeta? Vegeta?! Veg-AHHHHHH!!!!"
(Explosion)
Sound like ya got some yams 🍠 clogged in your jaws when speaking somehow to me in vids. Interesting theories nonetheless.
Interesting!
he killed him because he doesn't want to go to that bug planet
Hahah I get what you mean!
huh
@@ultimatewarriors1291 TFS reference
5:40-5:49 Well, when you have been imprisoned and tortured for over 20 years of eternity, it's understandable would get to that point.
yes, probably even after a few minutes
@@KaioshinCurt Perhaps. I always envisioned that after being sent down to Hell, Nappa went on a tirade destroying parts of it to let out his anger. Quite sad really--FighterZ didn't cut him some slack either--becoming the very fodder that you had theorized the Saiyan would become.
