5 years ago you didn't need to pay $1M for a Zonda, 2 years ago it would take $5M or so, today it seems like you can't get one for $10M! Do you think they're worth it?
All this for a car that has the same engine as Mercedes W140 S600(which you can get for 10k on facebook marketplace). I'm aware the Mclaren F1 engine shares some similarities with the engine in the BMW 850CSi but it is still for the most part bespoke unlike the Pagani. And 850CSi's aren't exactly cheap either.
@joshuamanayani2964 it actually only uses the block of that motor for the paganis. They use a dohc head and different internals and that is why it has its own engine model number

The F80 goes against the Ferrari formula of captivating beauty + fantastic sounding engine. They’ll be able to get away with it once, maybe twice. Then it’s over. Ferrari is not Porsche.
The zonda is so deeply tied to Lamborghini and paganis history combined with the timeless styling and the active upgrade program make this car one of the best collectors cars of all time

Zonda prices have always been insane. Some are turning 25 now and being imported for US collectors w/o show and display restrictions. Nothing new here, just folks jockeying for market share. Zonda is the GOAT though.
yeah when you buy this car (if you can) you're essentially in a room of oil princes, the world's most private (and sketchy) billionaires from the US to Russia, and even apple executives (eddie cue has the red zonoda cinque) it's crazy. And is the car even all that fun to drive? i dunno jason camissa said the F50 was a cooler driving experience on the carmudgeon podcast.
I am fortunate to have driven the Zonda (Nero) in that Camissa video back in 2019 before it was modified to enter the USA under Show and Display. It was, and will remain, one of the best driving experiences of my life. The car Camissa drove had been changed to meet USA emissions including old mercedes ECUs and massive changes to the exhaust system. Camissa alluded to it in the dicussion but did not seek to clarify and just put out a completely amateur video out there for laughs and views which is an outlier amongst all other Zonda reviews. I would not take that show seriously. The place that did the Show and Display changes did not do a good job - there is another place that does a much better job. With small changes that Zonda can be returned to its former glory. Furthermore at this point that car (along with more Zondas each year) can come into the USA with zero changes as it is 25 years old. The USA car collectors are a huge market and I think the value of Zondas will continue to increase.
