    After replacing the water inlet valve and the control board it still didn’t work until I came across your video!! This was the winning you tube video. BAM 💥 this feels great to fix this finally! Thank YOU! Mine was full of the black crap even though I clean the fine screen filter weekly. High five

    A great video.. Solved the no water / pump running issue. Pulled the switch and it had gunk tucked up into it. I was able to pull a lot of it out with a small pick and some careful cleaning. Tested the diaphragm by blowing in/out and the diaphragm freed up. Cycles as it should now. Thanks so much.. Will be ordering a new sensor first thing so I can make sure it will work reliably..

      Appreciate your feedback. I seldom replace them. You did excellent by blowing into it. I have an another video dealing with a call back. In that video I opened it up used a small pick a blew out the junk. The reason the pump kicks on is because the board doesn’t know how much water can be put in. Thanks for sharing

    Brother thank you! This is the exact fix I needed. Only took a 1/4” socket for the kickplate and a few taps to get her fixed if anyone else is skeptical.

    Hours of looking for videos trying to diagnose the problem myself and I find this right before giving up and calling someone. It was clogged with so much gunk. Thank you so much!

    Can't thank you enough for the video. While my Electrolux dishwasher is a bit different and access to the switch was a bit more difficult the principle is the same. Removed the switch which was filled with slimy gunk, cleaned it out with some Q-Tips, put it back together and works like new! Took less than an hour total, VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

      Love hearing about your experience. Try and remove as much food from your plates before putting them in the dishwasher. I know it doesn’t make much sense.

    Mine was clogged with grease. Cleaned it out and ran the pressure switch under hot water for a while (being sure to avoid getting water in the connector.) It worked like a charm 😄. Thank you!

    Wow, I was 'this video' away from pulling out my dishwasher, flipping it over and trying to figure out the issue. I followed your steps but instead of the balloon I took off the box on top of the white plastic thing and there was a big clog in there. I pulled the gunk out, reconnected and everything works now! 10 minute job, next time probably 5 minutes. Appreciate this, sir!

      Turns out it only fixed it for a partial cycle so I pulled the pressure sensor out again and noticed there's a little hole in the rubber that was also clogged. Scraped it out with a toothpick and was able to get a full wash!

    Thanks. You pointed me in the right direction. I ended up taking the piece off and took the electronic piece with the plunger apparatus from the pipe part. I was unable to blow into it and I noticed the hole was completely clogged. Ended up using an old electric tooth Brush and toothpaste with water to clean it. It didn't even look like there was supposed to be a hole there it was so hard scraping with just my fingernail. After it cleaned up I was able to blow and feel the flex of the plunger. Hooked it up and it ran through a cycle without an issue. Easiest appliance repair I've done. Three year old GE that was on sale for about $600, looks a lot like the one in this video. Mine is model GDT665SMNES

    Buddy I owe you one. Unit wouldn't stop draining. Took out the pressure switch, and sure enough it was impacted with gunk. At some point somebody removed the valve check that goes into the unit to prevent backflow. The drain hose was also hung wrong (no airgap or loop at the top) so it was going to keep getting plugged up. At any rate, cleaned it out really good with super hot water. Reassembled it and the unit ran a perfect cycle. Thanks so much.

    Thank you so much for this video! I didn't have wd40 but I used a pinch of 3in1 oil working the diaphragm back and forth. That did the trick!

    Good video. Let me know what was controlling the drain cycle on this newer dishwasher. I would add if anyone comes across this in the future, that tapping my sensor did not resolve the issue, but I was able to remove the sensor (black part) from the housing (white part) by releasing clips on either side of the sensor. There is a 1/8 inch hole in the bottom of the sensor where it senses pressure. Mine was clogged with a bit of food debris. Sprayed off with sink sprayer, and was good to go.

    • @appliancerepairshorts
      @appliancerepairshorts  3 месяца назад

      The pressure sensor on either of those GE Dishwasher will have a sensor. Sometimes tapping it. Most often you need to remove it and clean it. Once it is clogged, the pump is activated. The reason is, there is no way to measure the water coming in. Thanks for watching

    • @appliancerepairshorts
      @appliancerepairshorts  9 месяцев назад

      If you were having the same issue, I think when you were replacing the wash pump, the pressure switch probably had debris and during the repair it got moved/relocated. How did you verify the wash pump being bad? That switch can stop power to the wash pump
