I saw this bike at a Texas Dealership. The next day (2/9/24) I bought the GT version. I rode it 60 miles on open highway to my house. What a beast. The torque is off-the-scale. They say 221 n/m of torque at 4000rpm. Horses comes in at 165. I'm 67 and alone after the loss of my wife. I owed many bikes since 1970. This machine pulled me away from purchasing the Goldwing because I love the retro look of it. It's name lives up to the performance. It is a Rocket.

Yes, I mean a pot hole in a bend , I’ve found it keeps the bike on line. Don’t like it anywhere else though. Cheers mate Oh Aussie roads have declined in the last couple of years , unfortunately.
641 pounds dry for a 2500 cc motorcycle is "coming in at the heavyweight"??? Sir, the weight of Yamaha's iconic VMAX is 600 pounds dry with HALF that displacement! This is a street muscle bike, not a GP-style bike like a CBR 1000RR or street "knife" cruiser like the Ducati Diavel (516 pounds wet). It's the same weight as the Harley FXDR but with a coffee can more of displacement, that would be its nearest true competitor.
You make a valid point about the weight comparison. The context of this bike's category and its competitors certainly adds more insight into its weight. Different motorcycles are designed for varying purposes and styles, which affects their weight distribution.
@@thatbikersimon I raced a Kawasaki ZX-7 in Supersport class 20 yrs ago that was about this weight wet but this thing has the displacement of nearly TWO Honda Accords! They have to counterrotate everything in that engine they can to even make it rideable, also why it only goes a pathetic 145 mph, they don't dare take the redline past 7000 it would vibrate itself to pieces. Why I see no videos of people doing quarter-miles on this thing, it's a tortoise that's a rabbit for maybe 3 seconds. The reason we are seeing 3 cylinders in anything is because of EVs, they're an excellent ultra-cheap engine to act as nothing more than a generator for batteries in EVs, which are the only "electric" cars people trust because they want that gas engine in there to make sure they get to where they're going. Ergo, 3-cyl tech has done about all it can to stop the inherent vibration, but I think it's hit the wall.

I test drove one for 30 minutes and will likely rent one or 1 or2 days to really drive it at my places i normally ride.
I currently drive the 2022 Speedtwin but my brothers wants one also so i need to test the Rocket 3 a little bit more
It’s really difficult to make a decision sometimes when you only get a demo bike for a hour or so. I don’t think you can be disappointed with the rocket 3 it’s a lot of money but a lot of bike and well proven over the years. 👍
Time to review mine
I’m in it 👍👍👍
Great test👍🇫🇮
Many thanks Jake 👍
the price ?
18k gbp I think the new ones are 22k for 2023
Seat height mm I'm 5'9" ? How are we supposed to know what that means?
I’m not sure your the only one to ask that question, I guess you’ve just got to and sit on one of your interested in buying one. 🤷♂️
Suspension is perfect with a pillion. Other than that, engine leaves me without words, except for "it lacks power at any gear or speed", brakes are worse on my 2020 R1, comfort is super good, Manevouring it is a bitch. Definitly watch how you park it. Once it's rolling on it's own though, it is suprisingly well mannerd; it doesnt like (fast) quick, intermittent turns, but long and wide? GIMME FULL THROTTLE BABY!!! No shit, coolest bike I've ever ridden. Wanna exchange my 2020 R1 with your Rocket 3 R? Gimme a shout!
Great comment 👍 the rocket 3 surprises most people once they’ve riden it. It certainly stands out from the crowd. I’m not sure I would last long on a R1 these days but still a nice bike to look at. The rocket is definitely a keeper 👍🏍️💨💨💨
I don’t imagine that Triumph designed this bike with a passenger in mind. It could use a cowl instead of the pillion, like the Hayabusa.
I have seen plenty of pillions on the back of these bikes but me personally I don’t like taking any passengers, it just ruins the whole dynamics of the bike. I hope my Mrs isn’t reading this 😂👍
One hand guard looks odd
Well spotted Steve. I like it when mistakes are seen, basically 2 was ordered and only one turned up for the video and didn’t have time to take it off again. 👍
I am always afraid to see anybody to drive in wrong side of the road!
Hard suspension sucks … until you need it.
All it probably depends on how good your road surface is, the uk roads are only getting worse.
Yes, I mean a pot hole in a bend , I’ve found it keeps the bike on line. Don’t like it anywhere else though.
Cheers mate
Oh Aussie roads have declined in the last couple of years , unfortunately.

I own the R, concur, concur, concur, lol.
Fantastic bike my friend 👍
Bike 8. Amy 11.
👌👌👌
Bike for hobbits
Lol
Over priced
It’s cheaper than a Ducati diavel V4
Ducati is garbage and even that way over priced you can buy two Harley Davidson for that price@@thatbikersimon
How does it handle in city traffic? Stop and go? splitting lanes? Some real stuff.
I thought it handled really well at low speeds, I would say with its low down weight and short seat hight makes it easy to ride.
@@thatbikersimon The question was not how easy it to ride, but how you handle it on the streets of London? if you really ride it for a week. Sorry to say, yours video just a promo bullshit. Bike looks great, that is it, blonde girl also.
@@andreychizov8201
😂🤣😂 In reality, real world, for real, really 'the streets of London' are mostly limited to 20mph now - you'd be better off with a Grom! Or lose your licence in a day...
12:47 why this useless power for daily bike?! Waste of fuel and extra weight.
It’s probably not the most practical bike for commuters more of a Sunday blast bike
@@thatbikersimon I am riding VMAX first gen. Great looking bike, but piece of shit otherwise.
@@thatbikersimon i wish i can afford time for stupid weekend rides and money for useless alfamale statement.
