So exciting to be the pattern winner. Thank You so much! Now to my decision paralysis. 🤔. I like the lotus flower hat with the red main color best. I think it shows the Colorwork better. Here’s a suggestion for deciding on yarn. Grab a number of skeins (maybe 6) have your kids put each one in a brown bag or box and number the boxes 1-6. Then when it’s time to choose, have them roll a dice and that’s the yarn you work with next. Have fun!
I love the dice idea. My daughter would love it, but I think she’d prefer all of the yarn I put in the bag to be pink 😂❤️ It sounds like an awesome way to use up different skeins 🙂
Thanks for another episode and all the inspiration ! I do agree that the flowers show more on the red background, but the orange hat with red flowers looks super cute as well, more tonal or something. You really did an amazing job with the voyager, I am curious to see how it looks once blocked ! Those hoodies will indeed be lovely for kids.. As for cardigans versus sweaters; I like both. Sweaters for when it's really cold or when I like to feel warm and cozy, but cardigans for when the weather is still changing, of if I go visit people that have the heating on quite high, so that I can easily get it off when sweltering.. 😉 I can see what you mean by the neckline being too wide for your liking, I have the same issue sometimes. So on my next sweater I intend to see if I can start a smaller size, for the neckline, and then just knit on untill a size up, if that makes sense..
Thank you! That makes perfect sense. I might think about doing this as well, especially when the weight is heavier than fingering. It seems my heavier sweaters have more of a neckline issue, but I think casting on smaller and moving up after the neck is a great idea 🙂. Cardigans are definitely great for when the weather is changing!
I actually only have 2 winter hats since it just doesn't get cold enough very often here in Texas. I love your hats & especially love the dark background on the fuzzy hat. What a cool idea for a fundraiser!
I'm planning on knitting the Besties Hoodie for my SIL and her baby so they can have a cute Mommy and Me outfit. I love that size range of the tincanknits patterns lets you do that with just one pattern purchase!
Just leaving a thank you because I won last week SO I don't need to be put into the draw again... But I can't wait to eventually try the pattern you kindly gifted me 🌞 love that cardi on you and the longer cosier sleeve
Thank you, Daft Days was a good pattern. Very simple to memorize but it worked great with the advent 🙂. Good luck on your forms, I hate having to fill long ones (or any!) out!
The jewel tones in the cardi you're wearing are gorgeous❤ dh wears his sweater sleeves out from the elbows to wrist over the years, and i sometimeshave to redo a fraying hem rib...
Thank you! I've had issues with having to redo hems as well. When the kiddos were little, there were times where I took the hem off to make an item longer as well 🙂
This was an MKAL? I've never heard of this pattern before and now I'm sad I missed an MKAL involving a sweater 😂. I didn't think there were sweater mystery knit alongs - at least not very often. I have always wanted to try one 🙂.
Thank you, the idea of using single crochet is a great one. I didn’t think about doing that at all. I might try to do that to tighten up the neck without having to redo the ribbing 🙂
Really enjoy watching you reveal all the new patterns that you have found, although I get confused as to what to knit next! Looking forward to seeing your finished objects next time?
That sounds awesome. Gift knits are something I haven't tackled much, but I would really like to have a bunch of gift ready objects - like hats or mitts for when there's a need 🙂
Hi Mandy! You always have such varied and interesting pattern suggestions. Thanks for doing all of the research for us. Your hats for your son’s fundraiser are so cute. How many hats do you plan/ hope to make?
Thank you, Beth! I have until January to make items. I’m not sure how many I’ll make. I have some other ideas for items, such as headbands. I have been having so much fun making them that I feel like I’m going to have a whole pile of them. Hopefully if they don’t sell, I can find others to give them to 🙂
My steeked cardigan is nearly done! I just have to finish up the button bands, give it a wash and it will be ready to cut open. I think I am going to try felting to secure the cut ends 😁
That's so exciting! Felting to secure the cut ends is a great idea if you're using a wool that will felt. That would have been my choice as well, I think it will make everything nice and tidy that way 🙂
Thank you! I'm not sure if I'll fix it, but I have really thought about it quite a bit. I have to dig out my yarn and see if I have the right matching color. If I do, it will be an easy fix now that it's all done 🙂
I purchased the Besties pattern, but can't start yet as I have too many things on mu needles. One of my WIPs that I'm currently knitting on is the Mabel's Seeater by JoJi and I'm loving it SO much.
I'm really happy to hear that you're loving the Mabel Sweater. It's such a pretty one and I'm really partial to the color picked for the sample. It seems like a great textured sweater and I'm hoping to try it in the future 🙂
Your Daft Days looks so good! I have it in my library but I haven't decided which yarns to use in it. Have you seen the Cats in the Garden Raglan? I saw it while looking through colorwork raglan patterns, and I thought of you!
I love your Daft Days! Do you think you would prefer the sleeves to be a little more snug? Perhaps you could just redo the cuffs to cinch them in more.
Thank you! I think just redoing the cuffs might help. Someone else suggested using a single crochet edging along the inside of the collar to tighten it up. The colors on it make me so happy, I am going to try to make a couple of small adjustments on it to help the fit a bit 🙂

Congratulations! I’ll soon be paralyzed about what next until I can hold out till Helen Stewart’s patterns.
I love the dice idea. My daughter would love it, but I think she’d prefer all of the yarn I put in the bag to be pink 😂❤️ It sounds like an awesome way to use up different skeins 🙂
Thanks for all the great inspiration. your cardi you're wearing is scrumptious!!❤❤
Thank you! 🙂
I like that dark yarn as the main color in your hats and the lighter for the flowers. That darker lotus flower hat is just beautiful!
Thank you! I am partial to the darker body as well, I think the flowers pop more 🙂
Gorgeous knitting as always ❤
Thank you! 😊

Thank you 🙂 I’m hoping it’ll allow them to raise some money for their trip next year
Your cardigan looks lovely. Daft days is on my queue too.
Thank you! Daft Days was a fun knit! 🙂
I'm planning on knitting the Besties Hoodie for my SIL and her baby so they can have a cute Mommy and Me outfit. I love that size range of the tincanknits patterns lets you do that with just one pattern purchase!
That's such a sweet idea, a Mommy and Me outfit would be adorable. Tin Can Knits has amazing size ranges! 🙂
Just leaving a thank you because I won last week SO I don't need to be put into the draw again... But I can't wait to eventually try the pattern you kindly gifted me 🌞 love that cardi on you and the longer cosier sleeve
Thank you! I hope that you have a wonderful time with the pattern, I had so much fun knitting that one! 🙂
Love the Besties pattern! Needs to be on my needles soon 😍
I agree! Tin Can Knits has great patterns! 🙂
Love your cardigan 😍. Getting my Mandy fill after filling out a lengthy form for disability benefit here in the UK… yay!
Thank you, Daft Days was a good pattern. Very simple to memorize but it worked great with the advent 🙂. Good luck on your forms, I hate having to fill long ones (or any!) out!
I love all the colours you put in your sweater. I saw the pattern originally and didn't really give it another thought, but I really like yours.
Thank you, the pattern really lends itself to an advent! 🙂
The jewel tones in the cardi you're wearing are gorgeous❤ dh wears his sweater sleeves out from the elbows to wrist over the years, and i sometimeshave to redo a fraying hem rib...

Your color work hats are so pretty, That would be a good first color work pattern
I agree, the chart on the Hanmer hat was super easy to follow and it would be a great first pattern for color work 🙂
😂 I’m watching this whilst knitting the last few inches of my Torc cardigan!
This was an MKAL? I've never heard of this pattern before and now I'm sad I missed an MKAL involving a sweater 😂. I didn't think there were sweater mystery knit alongs - at least not very often. I have always wanted to try one 🙂.
Love the colours of your cardi! I have crocheted a single crochet along the neckline to tighten it up. It worked great, and you can't see it.
Thank you, the idea of using single crochet is a great one. I didn’t think about doing that at all. I might try to do that to tighten up the neck without having to redo the ribbing 🙂
I love "half twisted", only the knit stitches, 1x1 rib. I haven't tried anything else just yet but I will. You are surely on sleeve island. Yikes 😂😂😂
I like the idea of only twisting the knit stitches 🙂. Yeah, it's a sleeve island of my own doing. I need to plan better, maybe one day! 😂
Really enjoy watching you reveal all the new patterns that you have found, although I get confused as to what to knit next! Looking forward to seeing your finished objects next time?
Thank you! I have a hard time deciding what to knit next too 🙂
I am venturing into more colour work and planning some gift knits for next year xx
That sounds awesome. Gift knits are something I haven't tackled much, but I would really like to have a bunch of gift ready objects - like hats or mitts for when there's a need 🙂

The sweater you are wearing looks great. I can’t wait to see if you “fix” the neckline to suit you better.
Thank you! I'm not sure if I'll fix it, but I have really thought about it quite a bit. I have to dig out my yarn and see if I have the right matching color. If I do, it will be an easy fix now that it's all done 🙂

I got Helen Stewart’s collection and hopefully will get to knit a couple if not all. I’m not a pullover person so disregarded the hoodie.
I am excited about the collection! Yeah, I feel the same way about the hoodie 🙂. My kiddos would love it though
Your Daft Days looks so good! I have it in my library but I haven't decided which yarns to use in it.
Have you seen the Cats in the Garden Raglan? I saw it while looking through colorwork raglan patterns, and I thought of you!
Thank you! No, I haven’t seen that one. I love the chart for it, so cute 🙂 I bet my kiddo (and me!) would love that sweater ❤️
I made the TwentyFour Birds Shawl MKAL (Curious Handmade). Came out amazing but yet to wear.
Oh, that one is so pretty 😍. I feel like I'd want to hang it up and display it instead of wear it 😅
I love your Daft Days! Do you think you would prefer the sleeves to be a little more snug? Perhaps you could just redo the cuffs to cinch them in more.

My original comment was removed as I had to re do my RUclips account, but like I originally said, I will be getting the knitvent 😊
Where did you get those lables the I’m hand made ones with care instructions????
You should be able to find them on Amazon 🙂 They had many different kinds. They’re also available on Etsy.
