All he had to do was take it easier on the soft parts and bring some of the extended highs down an octave?? Amazing. I wouldn't have even been there. He's got balls for showing up. They are amazing, and the fact that he is tired, But still does the thing. Makes them more amazing. I play on the street busking. When I'm tired i make like 10 euro in 3h. Im my own boss so I do day offs when ever i want. But the labels and shit make you go over your possibilities. And that's the result. Apart of that those vocal lines are so difficult. All love to starset. Not long ago found this band, but i enjoy every song. Btw got recommended starset while listening to Alter bridge. Since I listen to Alter bridge i get a lot of amazing recommendations from you tube.
Well i don't have footage but i saw them a few days ago and i can tell they were very full of energy, not tired at all. Yeah you can tell here he's pretty tired, or he appears to be.
I saw them 2019. I can assure you are correct MUCH MUCH better than that. Thats maybe the last song and his voice is done. I guess he had a lot of training to keep the voice for longer.

The top button alone, places a not insignificant amount of pressure on the throat, even if the shirt is tailor-made. 2) Dustin had a chest infection at the time of this concert, so his lung capacity was substantially diminished, thereby severely affecting his performance, but he went out and performed nonetheless...You HAVE TO give him some respect for that. 3) The song itself, is incredibly difficult to sing, at the best of times - Can anyone of you hit those high notes, after having sung for a minimum of fifteen minutes, some songs of which would have required you to growl? The answer is a flat, unequivocal no. The mixing was not the best, admittedly, but this was a poor performance by their standards FOR GOOD REASONS, so they have to be forgiven, as they didn't cancel their performance like so many other artists would!
Stop making excuses. I like Starset. I'm from Cbus. This was pretty hard to watch/listen to. 1. Don't wear a shirt like that if it's a problem. Nobody forced it. It's also a laughable excuse. This isn't a classic rock song so you need a lot of multitracks and a lot of samples for recreate the same sound of CD. Basically in this video you listen ONLY the live RAW mics which doesn't capture the totality of the sound. Perhaps there was some problem because in many other videos this band sound pretty decent...

Starset IS an amazing live band, and Dustin has a supremely beautiful voice, but this was like their fourth? live show in a row, and if any of you think your voice wouldn't be a little the worse for wear after all that screaming night after night not to mention endless gabbing during press well, I guess you're not human...which would also explain why you don't like Starset.

Let's be real. Starset is kind of in their own genre and they have ALWAYS got hate from the metal and rock community because of their use of electronics, Dustin's alleged inability to sing live (he is actually great live), and then just being different. This band is one of my favorites though. They have true meaning behind their music and combine so many great musical elements. Their live performances are very cinematic,.and videos don't do it justice. Along with being able to come up with stories and back stories for the band itself. Not many bands can do all of that. And even if they do sound shitty live, most bands do.
Yeah, he has gotten so so much better since this. Plus he looks really really tired and his voice gave out. But his recent live performances are great. But yes this band is included in my holy trinity of hard rock: Starset Red Breaking Benjamin

I saw these guys on the 13th of last month in Ohio and they sounded great, you can obviously tell he is tired right here. When I seen them he nailed every note in the song. Songs not easy to sing man. Keep up the great works guys

I literally saw these guys on Sunday and they fucking killed it! They performed APMAs this year and literally had the same misfortune of god awful mixing. Everyone mentioning their other performances are 100% correct. They sound absolutely FANTASTIC when they aren't dealing with the shit sound systems that award shows provide. I can attest that they sound phenomenal after truly hearing them live for the first time. That was probably the best day of my life.
Even A7X set up was not good.. so that says a lot.. I actually just heard them the first time at Loudwire and i am enjoying their music quite a bit,, will keep listening forsure

I know this video is old, but I just saw them in Dallas on November 8th 2021 and they played Ricochet. And it was literally amazing. They've improved so much since this was taken and it's honestly not even comparable. I think people also forget it's hard to gauge live performance on recordings. If you have doubts about seeing them live, I can't recommend them more after seeing them.
These guys have such a unique concept, i love it. Most bands aren’t great live at 1st. I saw Bullet for my valentine back in 2007 they were horrible. Saw them again in 2016 and they were phenomenal

Saw the open for Breaking Benjamin at a concert, and holy fuck, this is nothing compared to that performance. As much as I love Breaking Benjamin, they should have been headlining. The lights, the smoke, they put on a hell of a show. This video doesn’t do them justice.

I've seen Starset live in person twice and they're definitely a band in which seeing live performances on RUclips doesn't quite do them justice. My only problem seeing them live was that it was at an outdoor festival, so I wasn't able to get the full experience that I'm sure most of their concerts have.
Why are people complaining about this ? I'll admit during the transmissions and vessels tours some of their performances were, let's say, not at all good. (Although now, after divisions, they are fucking amazing live), this performance right here, is NOT AT ALL BAD. They all sound very close to the album version here.

Yup, the band has only been around since 2013. And the fact they're THIS famous already says something. The singer just needs to practice his stamina. He's young, wild and has a lot of potential. Just needs practice.

I've seen Starset live twice, and they are waaaay better than this. Which granted, both the shows I caught them at was early during the tour. But, I'll admit, their shows are SOMEWHAT dull. Idk why, but they're a good band. But, the crowd just generally stands there and watches them and no go nuts or anything, which is eh. This really ain't the type of music you'd bounce around too really.
I saw them for the first time on the loud wire awards, had never heard of them and I actually like them. Not my usual genre, but it's good to open your horizons. They remind me of a heavier Linkin Park. The singers got pipes. Just needs to work on breath control.

Starset was awesome at the Masqurade in Atlanta. Bates can improve but they have the best live rock show in my opinion.

Saw the open for Breaking Benjamin at a concert, and holy fuck, this is nothing compared to that performance. As much as I love Breaking Benjamin, they should have been headlining. The lights, the smoke, they put on a hell of a show. This video doesn’t do them justice.

I've seen Starset live in person twice and they're definitely a band in which seeing live performances on RUclips doesn't quite do them justice. My only problem seeing them live was that it was at an outdoor festival, so I wasn't able to get the full experience that I'm sure most of their concerts have.
Yeah i went when they were in melbourne in august and i think its really just hit or miss when you go to see them.
Why are people complaining about this ? I'll admit during the transmissions and vessels tours some of their performances were, let's say, not at all good. (Although now, after divisions, they are fucking amazing live), this performance right here, is NOT AT ALL BAD. They all sound very close to the album version here.
Starset's album Vessels is the best album i've bought of 2017. Murdered my Cd player in the car, hasn't left since.

Yup, the band has only been around since 2013. And the fact they're THIS famous already says something. The singer just needs to practice his stamina. He's young, wild and has a lot of potential. Just needs practice.

I hope he finds Melissa Cross to help him avoid losing his voice and maintain consistency. I like Starset but the end ( 5:39 ) of that was fucking hilarious, "WOW!! That was amazing!!! - No it wasn't!!"

I saw these guys live for the first time last year supporting shinedown and they blew me away and Ricochet was amazing.
This was a very below par performance from when I saw them and it just doesn’t do them justice. Can’t wait to see them again!

I've seen Starset live twice, and they are waaaay better than this. Which granted, both the shows I caught them at was early during the tour. But, I'll admit, their shows are SOMEWHAT dull. Idk why, but they're a good band. But, the crowd just generally stands there and watches them and no go nuts or anything, which is eh. This really ain't the type of music you'd bounce around too really.
I saw them for the first time on the loud wire awards, had never heard of them and I actually like them. Not my usual genre, but it's good to open your horizons. They remind me of a heavier Linkin Park. The singers got pipes. Just needs to work on breath control.
