      بهادر جان، لطفاً ويديوى ارمنى-تركى رو دوباره بذار ولى كومنتهاشو پاك كن و اصلاً قسمت كومنتشو ببند كه نتونن چرنديات بنويسن. تازه من ميخواستم پيشنهاد كنم كه يك ويديوى جديد بين تركى و ارمنى شرقى درست كنى. اون ويديويى رو كه درست كرده بودى بين تركى و ارمنى غربى بود كه زبان ارامنه استانبول هستش. ولى ارمنى شرقى هم زبان رسمى ارمنستانه و هم زبان ارامنه ى ايران.

    Wow i didnt know that ciger actually means "liver" in Turkish. I am Greek and my grandparents (who came from the Black Sea region of Turkey and were billingual in Greek and Turkish) were sometimes calling me "cigerim" or "yavrum" when i was a small kid. I knew what "yavrum" meant but i thought "cigerim" was something similar. I have to agree that it is kind of a strange thing to say to someone :-)

      Ausländer, Well, it's not any stranger than "Apple of my eyes" which in English, beside its anatomical meaning, is also a euphemism for darling or dear exactly like what "liver" stands for in Kurdish, Turkish and Persian. If you really think about it both expressions refer to body parts which are very important and quite precious for the body. The expression doesn't say that "you are a piece of liver", it says "you are my liver", that is "you are as precious and as indispensable to my body as my own liver". Kinda gross, I know! But not any grosser than "apple of one's eye"! :-)

    • @HashtagAneeza
      @HashtagAneeza 5 лет назад +9

      Like Kurdish, in Urdu as well, we pronounce it with "J" , as in, Jiger/jigar. And even our parents/grandparents would tell us as you are my "Jigar ka tukrra ((Piece) - Piece of liver)). Which is like you are super special or dear to me. Like you don't have to go for literal meaning but the feel of it :P xd

    • @ibrahimerol5639
      @ibrahimerol5639 5 лет назад +15

      Why when you said "You're my heart" it is romantic, but "You're my liver" isn't. :)
      Ok, it's strange but ciger is important for us too. And I love to eat ciger :D

      Any turk that stands up to their state and works for stopping their century long ethnocidal policies towards minorities, Kurds & others, are definitely my brothers/sisters. Sadly I hear the "kurds & turks are brothers" rhetorics too often by people that at the state time support their state and are completely against any real linguistic or political rights for Kurds. I hope one day the first kind will outnumber the second, but it's sadly not the situation today.

    It actually has a nice meaning. It could mean " I can't breathe if you're not " . Or " i can breathe cause your presence."
    And also older people believe that "To be very upset makes tuberculosis." And your lungs (in turkish also called ciğer) damaged.
    If you call someone " ciğerim " that means, "you are like my healthy lungs. Glad to have you" or " I'd be sorry if I wasn't with you. I'd be tuberculosis. "
    Yeah. It's a complex thing.

    The ward Çiğar/Gigar is used to identify the biological relation to the person you are refering to or basically a relative, brother sister, etc. It is not used to anyone who you don't share the blood line with. An english equivalent to this could be Blood, for example; You are my blood. In turkic languages it is used in same context but we say you are my liver. In Uzbek we say "Sen meni Gigarim" .

    In Turkish we call Kara Ciğer (Black Liver) to Liver and Ak Ciğer (White Liver) to Lungs. Ciğerim is reffered to lungs not liver.
    so the reason behind we called our loved ones ciğerim comes from Lungs. Cuz when u feel pain about your loved ones your chest hurts. Thats why our culture relates "pangs of love" to the lungs.
