enjoyed the video tour immensely was 45 years old when your company started have loved many of your products and now that iam 75 years old this year will be celebrating with many of your products thank you for being the greatest !!!!!
was very interesting to see behind the curtain of how your company makes such great product. was involved in providing propane for fork trucks in industry and had the opportunity to get into MANY factories over the years, and it's amazing to see all of the work that goes into making the items people purchase in the front of the buildings...without a clue of how complex the process and parts needed to get to the final product. thanks for showing us your 'factory'
I put the mushroom stroganoff soup on egg noodles, top it off with creme fraiche and have the best beef stroganoff ever. Thanks for providing such wonderful products, Wendy.
What I liked best was learning about the number of ovens used to bake pies as well as the different types of ovens. I also enjoyed learning about the cooling process of baked pies; that was very interesting! Thanks again for the tour!
Welcome back! Missed you! Love the behind the scenes video. How many pie tins do you use in a year? How many pounds of sugar? How is Odin? I usually stop by the Chesterfield location, it's the last stop of my Sunday drive with my 92-year-old Dad. Dad loves your Canoli pie and your Coconut pie. I hope to resume our trips soon, Dad is recovering from Covid. Looking forward to more of your video's!
Wendy, a good friend of mine lived on Spencer in Armada and I remember him and I walking around in the early 90’s and him telling me the lady in that house makes the best pies! And guess what, she still does! Enjoyed the tour and seeing how far you’ve come! I’ll be in Troy on the 22nd picking up a few pies!
Been a big fan since we moved here in 1999. Was sad that you were not able to build the factory behind the existing Armada storefront. Heard that the township didn't want a large commercial building here and wanted to keep Armada rural. Loved the bacon pie and the cobbler is amazing!
Yes, Armada Village and Township where not able to provide the utilities for a mid-sized bakery or restaurant there. The Twp does provide proper sewer/water/electric for manufacturing down on Powell road however. But my sister found this beautiful, clean, building in a manufacturing zone here in Chesterfield. So many manufacturing building for sale that we looked at were automotive and really greasy and dirty! This one was perfect! Hope to see you on Free Slice day!
@@WendyAchatz I used to work in that commercial complex at a place named Lamb Body and Assembly and thats why I moved to armada to be closer than where I used to live.
Love this Wendy! Would love to see more of your bake house. Perhaps you could show the process of how a pie is made from start to finish (as in someone purchasing the pie from your storefront). Begin in the dough room, then to your storefront to be sold. Just an idea! Looking forward to more of your RUclips videos!
Thanks Wendy I am amazed at the size of your operation. I sure hope raspberries become available at a reasonable price. Raspberry cream has always been a favorite.
I bought your Hungarian Mushroom soup during the cold snap we had here and it was absolutely delicious! It is great to see your company branching out, wishing you much success.❤
I loved the tour and I love the pies. Four berry and French silk are so good. I'm sure others are also but I can't get past these 2 to try others. I missed the date for the free pie slice. I missed your videos of late to see how the chickens, dog and sheep are coming along . I think it is nice that you share your recipes although I haven't tried any. Easier to purchase. Thank u forthe pie slice if I can find out when to get it.
Great video! Always wanted to see the behind scenes of one of your shops. My favorite is Autumn Harvest then Cannoli. Do you ever do tours for small groups?
We do pie classes for students sometimes in our larger stores, where we can fit everyone about the baking table. Haven't brought them back since...covid.
This was very informative - thanks! Was glad to hear about the new store in Bloomfield Hills. Will that also have an area for attending pie baking classes? Attended one approximately 5 years ago and loved it.
I've always wondered if it's possible to make quality fruit pies on a large scale. I've never tasted your pies as I live on the west coast but they really look great.
Hi Wendy, I have an ice cream product that I hope I can get into Whole Foods one day haha. My ice cream production needs don’t meet the minimum for the co-packers I’ve spoken to. I want to start making the ice cream in a commercial kitchen, but I don’t think kitchens are SQF certified. What should I do? Thank you for coming back to RUclips ❤
@@WendyAchatz Hi Wendy! When you get a purchase order from let’s say Whole Foods or a distributor, do you have to finance the order yourself? Or do they pay the invoice first so you can start producing their order with that money? Thanks so much ❤️

My pleasure. I love touring manufacturing facilities too. Human ingenuity is interesting and improving the ergonomics is health!
Thanks for the factory tour, Wendy, that was really thoughtful and considerate of you! Also, the behind the scenes details was very informative.
Thanks, what did you like best?
Thank you for sharing. Your pies have been apart of family celebrations for years & years.

I love the French Silk pie and Lemon Merangue. My family love the Cannoli.
Have you ever tried the Sandra's Sunshine Lemon?
No. I'll have to try it. Love lemon anything. I also do love the Raspberry, sorry can't remember entire name. Yummm

Feb 1 2023 free RUclips Subscriber day! Hope to see you there. Thanks for watching 💕
Thank you! Enjoyed the tour and love your products.
Terrific video, Wendy!
The quality checks are impressive! What do you do with the over and underweight pies?
yes, we have a plan for them. The stores will cut them into bigger slices to meet weight, and we sample them too.

BEST PIES EVER! 🥧 ❤️ 🥧

I remember when I worked at this place I was a boxer and I loved the smells of the bakehouse floor❤️😋
Had Caramel Nut Apple pie and was pretty impressed. Going to visit your store soon

I agree with your 92 year old friend! Carrot cake!!!
me too!
Any thoughts on bringing back the German Chocolate pie? 😋🥧
Great company Pies are the best
Thank you Joe!
One idea to pick up sales in January would be to host Feast of the Epiphany ans Martin Luther King Day mini pie shops at events.
No shot of the pie filling line?
