Audio Advice will be installing some ceiling speakers for me soon (August). The holes will need to be cut and there will be blown in insulation above the hole. There is also no way to get into this space other than through the speakers hole. Do the backer boxes fit through the speaker hole? Are they insulated?
I've always enjoyed B&W speakers and their research and development is pretty amazing. This video does a great job of breaking down the different In-ceiling/In-wall offerings and highlighting some real gems in their lineup.
I got a lot of good advice from this channel building my own home theater. Question, I have the CWM663 als left en right in my 5.1 system. In The Netherlands you can only buy them in sets😢. Is it acceptabel to use u CWM664 as center, that I can buy separately.
Awesome video! Have a question, hoping you can help me. I am building a B&W Home Cinema with the CT 7.3 (LCR) and CT 7.4 (Rear and Side) but for atmos I am not sure and currently between the ccm 7.5 s2 and the ccm 682. CCM 7.5 s2 seems like a better atmos speaker (off axis) but 682 uses the same speaker technology as the CT 700 speakers (timbre matching) and can be EQed for off axis as well. Any advice?

The ones that start with a 7 are the in wall counterparts to the CT700 series. In some cases, they have improved them beyond the CT700 units. Thanks for watching
Thanks, you could do that to save some $$$, it is better to be perfectly matched, but putting more into the center is not a bad idea. Thanks for watching
got a question for you.... which in-ceiling speakers would you pair with the B&W CM10's? Remember the ones with the yellow midranges? These ceiling would be used for atmos.
For Atmos & /or surround, how important is it to use speakers from the same brand / line as your main speakers? I have (IMO) awesome main speakers - original Energy Veritas 2.8s & 1.8s from (were one of Stereophile Editor's reference speakers 20 years ago), that I traded in my B&W speakers for. My Veritas speakers were from before Energy then Klipsch change Veritas to make them end products. Unfortunately, I cannot find any of the matching Veritas in-wall or in-ceiling speakers, so am wondering how well using B&W in-ceiling speakers would work with my existing Veritas speakers if used for just Atmos/Surround duties?
That is always the challenge with older speakers you really enjoy, when you want to add surround sound. Your Veritas have an aluminum dome tweeter, if are remembering correctly. The B&W's should pair up pretty well, although the B&W may be a bit less forward than the Veritas. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice How important is it to have more premium speakers for an Atmos application? Would Golden Ear or B&W match up with my Aerial Acoustic LR5 & CC5 center and SR3? I could go for another set of SR3 in the used market but would like to invest in an in-ceiling option--- what are good and better options?
@@MrAerialsound Oscar, great question. We are very close with Michael Kelly at Aerial. He recommends these specific ones www.audioadvice.com/goldenear-invisa-htr-7000-in-wall-in-ceiling-loudspeaker. We both like the fact you can really dial in the direction with them
Do you have a back box for CWM 7.4 S2? Can I just build a box of plywood or Sheetrock and stuff with insulation? Please advise as I’m considering them for my LCR.
Great question! Let's have a quick conversation about your setup and the specific goals you want to achieve. Please feel free to reach out to one of our home theater surround experts in chat at audioadvice.io/aa-chat so we can help you sort out the best answer. Thanks for watching!
On the ceiling side....I noticed you topped off on the CCM 7.5 S2, which could work with my 700 series LCR. They also have the CCM 7.3 S2, which is a step up, but would that be overkill if using only for Atmos Height? Is the CCM 7.3 S2 more for in-ceiling main channel usage?
Great question! If you reinforce the area, with more hanging wire and put a thin piece of MDF or plywood on the back side, yes, with a suspended ceiling you should add a back box if the speaker does not come with one. Thanks for watching
Thanks for great video, I have one query do the in wall cwm 7.3 LCRs sound same as floor standing. Is the bass same as floor standing speakers?. I have listened to Paradigm in walls , they lack in bass. How do 700 series in wall compare with 800 series in wall?
We have some of these being installed by the Audio Advice team now! Can't wait to hear them once they're all finished up with our theater install!
Hope you like them! Thanks for watching

Yes. Typically, you will want to have matching brand and series of speaker. It is fine to move down to the CWM664 and it will pair up nicely.
Great video on these superb B&W speakers!
Thanks!
ive heard that for the price point the 7.4 s2 sounds as good if not better then the 7.3 s2?
We totally disagree on that, the 7.3 is far better. Thanks for watching
Something good to choose from, at many different price points. Cool!

Great Video on these speakers. Very informative and nicely structured. Can CCM683 go as left and right speakers with CCM7.5S2 in center?

Ccm 664 vs 663, which one
The 663 has better midrange, it really depends on your use case.

Yes, that will be fine. Thanks for watching
