    📜 Description 📜
    --------------------------------------------
This is not a review video, but honestly Samsung has made it easy for me to review this phone even if I don’t have it!
Back in 2019 Samsung released the Galaxy Fold and it was really exciting, and it was something that none of us had ever experienced and for the first time it replaced the mighty Note series as the new flagship phone. It was kind of ugly though with a small screen-to-body ratio of only 85.7% and those camera cutouts by today’s standards.
Then comes the Galaxy Fold 2 the next year. And this looked way better in my opinion. The ugly camera cutout was gone, the inner display came with 120Hz refresh rate, the screen-to-body ratio was improved by almost 3% and at the same time the resolution got better with higher pixel density. They bumped the battery too, from 4380mAh to 4500 and the fast charging was increased to 25W. Now even though, I’d usually don’t recommend upgrading the phone each year, I’d have definitely considered an upgrade from Galaxy Fold to Fold 2 a valid and respectable choice.
Moving on to the next year with Fold 3, the cover screen also got a better display with 120Hz refresh rate for the first time. It also got IPX8 water resistant rating, a tough armor aluminum frame and support for an s-pen. But probably the biggest selling point of it was this one feature: an under display camera for the first time. It was a big deal. It came with a disadvantage though: the under display camera was only 4MP. 4MP in 2021!
I mean the Fold 5 is barely any different than Fold 4. That under display camera from 2021 that I just talked about is exactly the same, hasn’t changed. The screen-to-body ratio has improved by only like 0.2%, we’re still stuck with 25W fast charging and the freaking battery capacity is still 4400mAh. And if you recall that 4500 on Fold 2.
Bottom line is that I only recommend this phone to two groups of people, you’ve either never had a fold phone before or you’re upgrading from Fold 1 or Fold 2. That’s it! Not even Fold 3, because of the plateau thing that I talked about. And I have links the description that you could use. Anyways, hope you liked and subbed, I’ll see you in the next one!

I’ve been watching your videos for a few months now and I was surprised how clean, clear and to the point they are. I'm even more surprised why you don’t make them more often. I'd probably watch them!
Also thanks for the fresh perspective on the new z fold 5. My main worry is if this trying to be great at more than one thing ends up not being good at any of them. I'd be my first foldable if I were to get this one.

Agree on end user perspective.. if you have 5+ year old phone, might upgrade...
Also love using my Tab S8 Ultra as tablet/drawing board as well as S22 Ultra as go to main phone/notebook/scribble/doodling device.

I'm a big Samsung fan and just recently bought a new phone (thanks to your advice) and I agree with your points 100%. I don't have a tablet myself and I imagine someone waiting for the new Fold 5 only to get so disappointed since it’s basically just fold 4 with minor changes. Keep up the great work!

I fully disagree with the phone not be created for this year. Each Year new people comes into the market, so this year might not be for you. So yes other people want to get in to the eco system and keep the fold for 5 years since we are not tech people. I also know that you did say only 2 people should have buy this phone which I fully agree with. But again tech Twitter is not a reflection of normal and normal people like me update every 3 years
