Been driving around with the right parking light in mine burnt out for over a year because I didn't know how to get the housing out. Just popped a new one in, thanks a million!
I am a painter by trade, and the best way to get glue residue off is just mineral spirits. Wear some rubber gloves and get a rag, not paper towels. Let it soak in and should come right off, you'd be amazed. No scraping, nothing. Goof off is too "hot" and doesn't work that great. That's it, the grill plastic things should be purchased prior to a grill removal if possible. I was putting my headlight back on and the bolt fell out and went into the skid plate, (4runner). Finally got it done... After cursing quite a lot!
I guess you never found the clips for the grill as I don't see a part listed? I was getting ready to use the Maguires headlight restoration kit on my headlights but I might just get new ones and use their cleatcoat which I already bought. On a side note its pretty amazing that mine is a 99 with 185k miles that I've owned since new and I've yet to replace a headlight bulb.
Rolling around with one cloudy headlamp and another clear headlamp must have been the reason to avoid fixing the problem correctly in the first place, he mentioned that replacement headlamps where affordable at the moment so maybe they weren't affordable back then? In my opinion, this might be the reason he Jerry rigged it, car reparations can get pretty expensive quick! Or maybe he just didn't feel like doing it lol. Anyways, awesome video Zack. I love watching both of your channels and what you do has in one way or another influenced me in my decisions in daily life.
Is that running light a blinker also? Or are the blinkers down where flood lights usually are the only front blinkers? I just inherited the truck and am wondering if a friend was correct in saying they were just running lights. Thank you.
I put tail light adhesive ( thick weather stripping that is super sticky) around the edge of mine and every so often have to push mine back into place I wish I found the person who hit my truck and ruined the bumper and headlight
5:02 Do you happen to know what the name or part number of that clip is at the bottom right corner of the headlight? I have been searching for it and can't seem to find it and I have noticed that most of the headlight replacement sets do not include it. Thanks for your time in advance.

Excellent video. No BS or yackety yak, straightforward, clear, and concise. 👍

nicely done. helped me see the mounting post and avoid snapping anything when coaxing the side light out. thanks!

Why is your video the only video on RUclips explaining how to take off a 98 Tacoma grill? Thank you Zack!
Tons of tacomas are like this. Mine was. The little strips under the headlights like to fall off too.

Please replace the passenger side marker light and the 2 lower turn signals. Just go all the way. Nothing makes a car look fresh like clear lenses.
