One of the better videos I've seen. Thank you. Now, if someone would just do a video on how to remove the left faront power window regulator from my RHD Japanese version 1995 Corona EXIV I'd be all set!!
Thank you this helped me find the attach points to remove front grill, turn signals and trim to accomplish the task. A few corrections additions that might help you. (1998 Prerunner) The front grill attach pins need to be squeezed from both sides not pushed in from just the side you can see. They pop out very easy this way. To make re-installation easy put grill in place making sure all lower points are lined up with their receptacles before snapping them back in. The top attach works better if you put the receptacle into the grill first (they do have to be properly oriented) Check one before removing or look a one that stayed with the truck side) When aligned they just snap in no force required. The pin that he broke on the trim piece below lamp can be released with care and a 90 angle screwdriver. Look between bumper and underside of the trim piece. To reinstall put the pin into trim piece before snapping back into the new headlight bucket. Professional mechanic 40+ years, aircraft, machine shops, and winery equipment. CgaryG
Mu brother, you sound so cheerful and happy while you work...very good. I bet I will be that happy when I get my new head lights for my 2002 Tacoma ! Very helpful video. Thanks my friend !!
Mahalo my friend, I'm replacing mine tomorrow & wanted to get an idea of what was involved. I have learned a trick for removing those pesky side markers... slip a large zip tie around & behind the light... and pull. It works like a charm!
Thank you! My '97 taco's lights were in bad shape; the bracket and reflector unit had disconnected; their friction posts worn out. That is, if you pushed on the headlights, they moved an inch or so, they wobbled. Finally one side went out, so I decided to get new units. They were cheap, about $60 for the pair, and they look fantastic. I tried to renew them before using a headlight restoration kit recommended by Project Farm. It worked OK but hardly look as good as the new ones. Rumor has it that this generation of taco will last forever. I keep repairing and maintaining it, so it just might. Now if it only got more than 19 mpg. 🙄
Thanks man my grandma has a 1999 tacoma she bought it brand new from dealer. We are currently giving it a face lift she send it in fresh paint job and we going to change headlights and parking lights to make it look more new
I used a small flat headed screwdriver to slightly pry the metal of the headlight filler piece releasing it from the plastic pin on that clip. Once the filler piece is released you can rotate the filler piece from the bottom outwards and it pops right off.
Thanks, when I first got it I wanted to paint it Flat Black. As the years past by I have learned to like it. I found out that it was a rare color so I just left it. I noticed that the paint is pretty darn thick. Thanks for watching and commenting
I have a 2000 tacoma 2wd, its horizon blue (purple) I wish I had that green color instead, its hard to find. Are you not putting in hid lightd in your headlights? Have you seen the diamond glass headlights?
Aloha!! Awesome work man! I like your how-to style videos. You cover all the steps involved very well. The new headlight assembly's look really sharp! Makes your truck look like new! Good ole Lucky Boy, he was pretty happy about the new headlight's looks like!!
Hay man its me again and i just bought my headlamps and parking lights with bulb for 75 bucks! well watching this video again And i was wondering if the cold air intake makes a difference? Thanks
I finally got the funds to change the darn thing. It was dull on the outside along with the inside from my 4wheeling days. Still looking for the funds for the better camera and computer but working with I have for now. I try to lay out each step even though I mess it up LOL. Thank you so much for watching as always! Aloha
Sup one question, where did you get the clip that you broke my truck didn't came with those fillers i just bought the fillers but i dont know where i can get the clips
***** Hey Mario, unfortunately I had to go back to the dealer for that one. If you still have the broken piece you can show them that. Aloha and thanks for watching
The only thing he didnt say is where he buyed those headlights, oem are so expensive and aftermarket are so bad quality...where to buy it, cheap and good head lights
This presentation if for older versions of Toyota Tacoma. These instructions will not work on newer versions, say 2005 and above nor for Sport version.
I got these on Amazon. Amazon link Driver side- amzn.to/39Zp0Cn Amazon link Passenger side- amzn.to/39Zeb30 Please make sure it fits before purchasing. Thanks for watching
It is a 1998 Toyota Tacoma 2.7L. It handles flawlessly with my 1998 Honda CR250R in the back. I have hauled lumber, flooring and tile. Bottoming out the suspension a lot lol. I just removed my body lift. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Bill Gilbert I'd be willing to pay that much if I could get some that are ultra bright light the new cars have, and if they actually have glass instead of plastic lenses.
Hay man its me again and I got my new head lights and parking lights on ebay for 75 bucks! So I went back to watch this video to help me instal them and saw that you a cold air intake. Just wondering if the cold air intake makes a difference or not? Thanks
Should be the same idea. The Cold Air Intake should not make a difference. If the Stock one gets in the way you can just move it on the side. I hope this helps some what. Thank you so much for dropping in again. Aloha and take care
Usually people have a loud annoying 2 minute intro. Then they talk about their life for about 6 minutes. Next they talk about the job for a minute or so. During the actual work they do fast motion with no sound nor description. Finally, it’s customary to put another loud annoying conclusion with or without fake bloopers at the very end. Please try to get with the times!

Thank's brother good job
Good video. One question is the process the same for the drivers side also?
Thanks for this!
To be clear, you've changed the factory plastic lights to glass, correct? And it's a direct fit? I have a 2000.

Did you need to adjust the new headlights?
Negative. It's always good to check them before driving for the first time at night.
The only thing he didnt say is where he buyed those headlights, oem are so expensive and aftermarket are so bad quality...where to buy it, cheap and good head lights
Does the trim piece under the headlight just screw on on one side?
I'm trying to remember but at 3:12 looks like it has a screw and a clip.
@@MuddyDrivewayProductions Thank you! Got replacement trim but I’m trying to find the clips now

eBay has those headlights for $49.00 for both, free shipping. I'll probably get mine later this month.
I did that - one leaks water like crazy, in the NW thats a real problem. On the second try I'll use a genuine OEM, $200 I won't have to do it again.
Bill Gilbert I'd be willing to pay that much if I could get some that are ultra bright light the new cars have, and if they actually have glass instead of plastic lenses.
You mean cut the zip ties (in my case) to remove the grill 😆

Whoops didn't see that. I installed it back on.

plus my truck isn't a prerunner it's 97 t100 model toyota truck and not tocoma either
Too many close ups make it hard to figure out where you are. Put the camera on a tripod.
Ahahah sorry I thought it didn't post the first time
