I had the same issue with more or less the same model of laptop. As with the majority here, my issue was with the RAM slots (Although, in my case, reseating was not enough - one of my slots was completely braindead and I ended up lazily throwing in a 16GB stick on the slot that still worked). Once I resolved that, the computer ran rock steady again until my boot drive inexplicably suffered a serious corruption in the middle of class a few months later. I think it's safe to say that these laptops were probably not engineered to reliably last for more than two years of daily usage. All I can say is that you should absolutely get a full disk image as soon as you fully diagnose the issue here. I hope the best for you!
Try checking the RAM slots to make sure the sticks are seated properly. If not then it's probably a bad slot or something is loose. It might be best to take the laptop to a repair shop. If it's the GPU causing the issue as well, you probably might be able to disable it being left with just Intel UHD Graphics until it gets fixed. Intel UHD Graphics aren't that bad anyway. You can also run Windows Memory Diagnostic to check for RAM errors.
oh i get it now, the igpu doesn’t have dedicated vram, so by default it will set a limit of half your system memory, and when it loses the files in the memory, there are blue screens and graphical glitches
Didn't realize that it was you andrew until I saw the login screen Btw removing the ram and puttting it back into place could remove pottential oxidation in the ram slots of the laptop and allow for the connection to be much better and posibly avoid the artifacting and crashing that you are suffering
My friend has a loosened up RAM stick in his Acer Nitro laptop and the BSoD he got was hilarious. Just a sad smile and completely glitching out with white stripes and buzzing sounds. A simple RAM stick reseat and it was fixed. This is actually Acer's common issue with almost all their laptops. I would say the the holding mechanism is not designed really clever.
My Dell Latitude does something like as well.. I normally sit down on my couch with it and sit back as usual. Then I noticed that it started to freak out a bit on the main display. I realized that I was pushing the compartment where the battery sits at between the main board. I assume it was due to what your having with the memory. I didn't notice that issue for a while, but that may change I guess.. 🤦♂️
I had this same graphical glitching and crashing issue with my old laptop (which was a Samsung laptop that was running Windows 8.1 that i had for roughly 9 years) before it was eventually retired when the CPU fan started failing causing it to start cooking it's self. However the crashing issue initally only happened for me when I accidently knocked or placed the laptop down in heavy handed manner and then it eventually started to happen every time it was moved. And yeah when I was investigating what could be causing the issue, I found that one of ram sticks where very lose in the socket, even after taking it out and putting it back in.
2:38 Kmode_exception_not_handled error occurs in Windows 10 when the different applications overwrite each other's memory. This leads to the crashing of the software and the operating system as well. As a result, it causes the blue screen of your computer.
I would keep the drive. Usually hard drives from laptops to desktop computers can be put in a sleeve of some sort which allows them to connect to a computer via USB
Meanwhile my Dell Inspiron 700m still marches on. (Though, I suspect the southbridge is starting to form a "personality") I have an early 2010's Asus laptop that did something similar until I cleaned the ram slots. Sometimes the slots themselves _social distance_ from the pads because of the constant bending on the motherboard.
there are so many thing you could do to troubleshoot this before writing it off... this could be a very simple thing such as badly seated ram, contacts needing cleaning, a clogged fan... even if it's damaged, it could be just the ram, which you can replace for cheap. heck that could even be a software issue
Seems like the ram has either been unseated, or the slots are dirty. Or the RAM has failed all together. Did these problems started when you upgraded the RAM on the laptop?
Sounds like a ram stick issue, i had this problem before, however this issue happened to me because I smacked the laptop keyboard, right under the keyboard there exactly a ram slot, reattaching the ram does fix it. However your problems, maybe a faulty ram?
use isopropyl alcohol on the ram slots and ram sticks. my pc was bluescreening like crazy and i really thought my ram is bad, after literally submerging it in isopropyl alcohol and scrubbing the pins with a toothbrush it started working fine and works to this very day!

I still have my 2018 Nitro 5 and I haven't had any major issues with it other than a vertical line that appears on the screen from time to time. I now own a 2022 Helios 300 which I bought new like 2 months ago and the build quality of it is a huge leap forward compared to my old Nitro. Aside from that though, I do recommend doing what the other commenters are saying and reseating the RAM.
