I recently bought a vintage 1980’s blue Jean jacket with a leather collar. I wear it with a lighter color Jean and cowboy boots. Sometimes with a long sleeve button up shirt and sometimes with a nice tee shirt. I love the look.
Love the double denim look. I wear it all the time and only with dark wash jacket and jeans in shades that basically match. I don't do contrasting washes.
I typically wear darker wash jeans with my trucker jacket which is a lighter wash. Lately I've been wearing black denim jeans with it which contrasts nicely. This video inspired me to get my trucker jacket tailored tomorrow so thank you!
I am Canadian...and we don't do that! (well, maybe in Alberta! :D ) Darker on bottom, lighter on top. I actually wear my jean jacket with navy, brown or tan chinos or cords. My jeans? I have other jackets like a cord jacket and leathers that I wear and even flannels in winter. When I was a teen (80s) I even wore a denim button up long sleeves (Levis of course) as an open over shirt with a plain white tshirt under. 501s forever!
Wrangler black sherpa lined denim jacket. Doesn't matter the color of my jeans, it just works. Price was great and it's a very good quality jacket. I'm always in boots so I don't even have to worry about matching footwear.
Growing up in high school, double denim, jeans and denim jacket, happened all the time. It was the 80s. It's what we did. Not anymore. It kind of went out with the mullet for me. :)
I really like to wear double denim in the spring and fall. I have three jackets in a dark wash, medium wash, and a nice selvedge in ocean blue color (that’s my favorite one). I have jeans in dark, medium, and light wash, as well as grayish blues. I just make sure the top and bottom denim are different and I feel confident with the look.
I’m a Carhartt man. Their jackets their trousers. Loose fit. I cuff them too. I’m old enough to collect SS. Always dark long sleeve Ts. A pork pie hat and Vuarnet Wayfarer. And a quality Fragrance. Shined Oxfords. My daily uniform. Match with my Harley Road King. Aaoorah
Hey, love the video. Could you maybe make a video on Winter Fashion, because I see many men just wearing some black Puff Jacket and some blue jeans and I really think you can really stick out by wearing something fitting and good looking
I tend to wear my denim jacket in the spring and early fall. I never do denim on denim. J. Crew has the best denim trucker jackets. You can get them in a dark resin or faded.
Hey man I really appreciate this channel/ host. I've been struggling with what to wear with my black Levi's 501 jeans. I don't own a white t-shirt or shirt. I have a very dark navy shirt long sleeve. So atleast I now know I really a boot. Thank you.
I have a darker wash Jean Jacket, and I try to wear it with either black jeans or a different color/style of pants. I try to never wear a Jean Jacket with a matching wash of jeans. Honestly, I try to not wear jeans at all if I’m wearing the jacket, since I’m not really a Denim on Denim guy.
Me too. My indigo denim jacket is only paired with cotton or linen trousers in the fall & spring. My only pair of denim jeans, also indigo, only during winter with heavier serious coats.
The easiest way that I have found to wear denim on denim (and not be self-conscious) is to pick 3 primary colors respectively for your pants, jacket, and t-shirt and don't match any of them. Right now I am breaking in my Brave Star Selvage Green Savage (Strongman fit) and pick whatever t-shirt (blue, black, white) and choose a jacket that doesn't match.
Honestly that untucked shirt sticking out from under the denim jacket is bothering me more than the vision of permanent stains on light denim pants 😜 I feel like the rules for Double Denim are the same as wearing a suit or sport coat and trousers: if the jacket and pants are going to be different, make sure they're different enough, and if they are to look the same, get them from the same bolt of fabric. I like Jay Leno's Double Denim look!
I'd say always have different color up and down, never wear blue denim jacket with blue denim pants. Choose darker color for the pants. I wonder you did not suggest this.
i'm a dark-skinned, black guy. the color black looks underwhelming on me. brighter colors, especially purple, orange, yellow and light green do look good on me, but they can draw too much attention. so, i like to pair a black denim jacket with a bright-colored tee. the tee makes my skin pop, and the black jacket takes away from some of the "loudness" of the tee.
I've seen people wear double denim but black. I thought it looked cool, just not something I can pull off. I think double denim works when it's real black.
I keep wanting to get myself a Collars and Co polo, but they have the most bizarre sizing for their large sizes. 17.5 neck? 48 chest and 22 cm shoulder! What?
I tried it double denim a decade or two ago and I gave up. It did not look right in my eyes even in very contrasting blue/black combination. Wearing a denim jacket for me means no denim is worn below the jacket. Instead I pick slim well-fitted joggers pants, or chinos & khakis, or grey woolen trousers (to dress it up), or even contrasting-colour corduroy trousers - they all work much better with a blue, black or indigo denim trucker jacket. I avoid white, grey and overly-washed very-light colour denim jackets and jeans. I very rarely see any man successfully wearing double denim in any colour combo. Looking at the photos shown in this video it did not change my mind. Peace.
If they match like the dark blue denim in the example I agree it looks bad for some reason. However if it's a light blue denim match or black denim match it looks great. Just think Billy from stranger things.
@@alexha2884Denim jackets are American not Swedish for one 😂. Most Americans today don’t have any style or taste much less fitness, so of course they can’t rock Denim. Only bullies can, like me.
Personally I think the light color just looks better than the darker color when wearing a pair of jeans with a denim jacket. It's also more versatile. If I'm wearing a dark denim pair of jeans with a denim jacket of the same color I can really only wear black boots cause to me, the brown boots just look out of place. But if I'm wearing a lighter color jeans with with a denim jacket of the same color, I can wear black boots or brown boots.

disagree with thumbnail ! as i see it, there are two possible ways to go: 1. go matchy-match, but avoid 2 pieces of denim that are close in color but a bit off 2. completely avoid 2 pieces of denim and instead go with a color that is as far apart as possible, like dark blue denim and light brown, yellow or white. An example for option 2 would be Dark Navy Denim-Jacket with light brown (beige) Chino-Pants.
Antonio, there is one type of jean jacket you did not mention in this video. The destroyed denim jacket. Perhaps this is true because you do not think it is worth your time. It must have been worth somebody's time, though, since it exists and is relatively expensive. Perhaps this is true because you think it belongs to this "everything must be ripped" fad, especially since it was selling in a young person's store. Maybe you have not even heard of it. In any case, please explain your reasoning. Thank you so much.
On your previous video, you grew up with a mother. No father. You dont ever have a word on how relationship’s work. Like i said on the previous vid, get a divorce and youll find out hoe crappy dating is in the usa
I wish you would also teach men how to become God-fearing individuals. I believe that a true gentleman is someone who places God the very first in his life ----- above his family, friends, clothes and other material things.
“They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.” (2 Chronicles 15:12-13) “If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife.” (Deuteronomy 22:23-24) “When you go out to war against your enemies and the LORD, your God, delivers them into your hand, so that you take captives, if you see a comely woman among the captives and become so enamored of her that you wish to have her as wife, you may take her home to your house. But before she may live there, she must shave her head and pare her nails and lay aside her captive’s garb. After she has mourned her father and mother for a full month, you may have relations with her, and you shall be her husband and she shall be your wife. However, if later on you lose your liking for her, you shall give her her freedom, if she wishes it; but you shall not sell her or enslave her, since she was married to you under compulsion.”(Deuteronomy 21:10-14) “When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl’s owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment.”(Exodus 21:7-11) Oh yeaaaahhhhhhhhh, right, worshipping this barbaric, ignorant, and vile idea of a one true ‘God’ is definitely the best indicator of a “true gentleman.” I guess if by “true gentleman” you mean a man of little to no integrity or moral worth than yes, spot on! 🤔Although, you do have a point at least a little somewhere within that messed up idea of an ideal partner you have; I think any man with half a brain would fear such a wretched ruthless and vindictive supreme being. Assuming that said being wasn’t just a giant crock of shit, that is. 😅
I have a better solution. Don't wear denim jackets. They look low class and gauche and they're not very functional in that they're not warm, don't have a lot of pockets, and again they do not make men look well dressed and sophisticated. Wear a bomber, leather jacket, overcoat, or velvet blazer instead.
