Nothing has made me feel any to play actual “vanilla” terraria than this mod. Always thought the lack of weapon variety was one of the things holding back normal terraria

@@lilvampire7439 True meeting pre hard mode shouldn't be all that difficult. EoC, EoW, and WoF are the ones I worry for, but QPee just wait for it to stay still. SKELETRON should just be waiting for the spin cycle, king slime is a tank race, Deerclops have Omega cheese

@mlg noob does the creator know that it breaks calamity bosses? i was in multiplayer with some friends and this mod made the bosses not spawn anymore...
The halo around the empress of light when she summons the massive pillar says "暾将出兮东方，照吾槛兮扶桑” in the small seal script (Chinese script from the qin dynasty). The verse is from the fifth chapter of a set of poems known as the Nine Songs, titled Sovereign in the East. The poem lauds the sovereign of the east driving his sun chariot. The verse itself talks about the warm sun shining on the sacred Fusang tree. Interestingly, the poem is by Qu Yuan, the guy who jumped in a river and started the dragon boat festival. Doesn't really affect gameplay but an interesting touch by the devs.

The melee problem is that the swords are too short or long range, and this hits the mark perfectly
Yeah and it makes it much better instead of those melees that summons ranged projectiles lol.

Yeah like in Calamity where the end-game swords just summon a bunch of fireballs down from the sky and you begin to question if you're even playing melee anymore. (No hate on Calamity, it's still my fav mod)

the other issue is that they literally just swing, and the special's swords template is always the broadsword.
The Empress of Epilepsy looks really amazing 🤩.

The weapon animations and mechanics literally look out of the game, they are so well made lol.

I feel like yinyang is slowly yet surely becoming an absolute legend of the community overall.
Honestly being able to charge your sword for insane damage is genius and I can see true melee being viable because of this

I really wanna make a terraria mod someday and nothing’s gonna stop me from having hope in my idea for one but damn if it isn’t difficult with mods as legendary as this out there now lol. Definitely very inspiring tho.
I was about to say that it seems a but too op but DAMN is this just fire. Looks amazing and it actually seems hard now
1 warning, if you have a texture pack for the weapons that are modified in this mod, forget about it, as the mod comes with its own weapon textures (the default weapons) that override yours.
However, if you have a texturepack that modifies the Empress of Light, it still works even during this mod's special fight. I fought Gabriel from ultrakill in this spectacular fashion.
ok this is how I understand the MEAC mod.
1. melee are combo weapons now
2. low muscle tissue of cthullu (brain) Retanizer (red eyeball of twins) is no longer a complete joke
3. EOL is now a overlord (the anime) character that could go toe to toe with Ainz Ooal Gown....
Fight EOL to Defeat Her and get loots: ❌
Fight EOL to get killed humiliatingly but witness the epic fx that could cause epileptic seizures: ✅
With this amount of talent, you’d think modders like yiyang would make their own video games.
coming up with a successful formula all on your own is a whole another beast, which requires at lof of factors such as timing, great luck, inspiration, etc.
technical skill does not automatically mean that you have all those other things.
improving upon something existing is easy, technically.
true creative work is hard.

Another thing for the true nights edge, if you hold it long enough there’s a strong extra attack where it spawns a eye-looking rift thing that shoots out three sword beams

Sure, I'll make videos of them one day, but currently they're not on my priority list
this is... unbelievable. this is so many steps ahead of what i thought terraria modding would ever achieve, i can't even put it into words. i didn't even know the terraria engine was capable of some of these effects, nor that there would be someone out there with the time and dedication to put them to good use, i'm amazed

The sword reworks are absolutely glorious not only did it actually fixed some problems with swords but also made it more outstandingly unique
What the hell, this doesn’t even feel like a mod. That melee rework should be official, that is damn gorgeous
This mod reminds me of Terraria Overhaul's sword rework. The animations and charged attacks are quite similar. Terraria Overhaul is probably more compatible with content mods however, as it doesn't completely overhaul the weapons, just the attack mechanics. All in all, both mods are very impressive!
I’m a man of vanilla taste and seeing the mod scene blow me every time. This and the Starlight river shows how much power and possibilities Relogic has given to us.

Bro I’ve been waiting for yiyang to drop this. If you didn’t know, he’s a Chinese developer who posts his work on an app called Bibili which is basically the Chinese RUclips. As of now, I don’t think there’s translations to English, but the layout is easy to navigate and to figure out what to do
Everyone else is talking about how fuckin sick this mod looks, but I’m just sitting here thinking about how the “we” in the title implies this channel is made by multiple people.
That background during the reworked Empress fight looks AMAZING
i really hope that vanilla will once look like this, the true nights edge and the true excalibur rework seem to be going in the right direction is basically a chinese knockoff ranger mage, without the need for ammo or mana

The dps for some of those weapons doesn’t seem to be balanced but other than that I absolutely love the creativity and time spent on each weapon!
I know this is probably not gonna happen but a part of me wishes that they did what binding of isaac did an hire the mod dev to port and fix this mod to the official game it would be so awesome

I really like the direction terraria mods are going, but imo I am still waiting and ready to keep supporting my favourite mod until its finally on 1.4, The spirit mod. I also am glad that a lot of mod creators are acknowlodging that melee is a MELEE class not a magic swords class lol

I think some swords got too op, these damages for ph weaps are just insane. But the mechanics are sick af, it really makes the melee gameplay much better by rewarding you for staying close to boses, It just rewards a bit toooo much
it should be considering the risk of having to go in melee range of enemies

They gave Nights Edge every Anime Sword character's Sheath move
I installed it, & the Brain of Cthulhu went from being an easy money farm to my new nightmare (with ranger pre-hardmode equipment)
You can tell that some of these swords drew a ton of inspiration from dmc

Another small detail that you missed! The boss health bar is actually associated with the position of the sun. It get closer to dusk when the boss is being damaged
Oh my god terraria mod really already reach this far. It just remind be that before all mods from terraria are just "improved" version of the original game, nothing new just adding more "content" and little bit creative but by looking at how subworld being implemented on terraia, recent updates of calamity and starlight mod, and then this, I really glad live to looking of this community growing

Calamity choosing to rework a smaller collection of weapons has made the mod so much more enjoyable. Calamity is finally beginning to catch up with mods like this

melee in this mod feals way way better to use but the lack of range late/mid game kills it around the plantara fight is the worst
