The staff that turns enemies into random things is possibly a reference to the wabbajack from skyrim wich had the ability to to enemies into sweetrolls, chickens or even cheese!

nothing has changed though
Seeing the mind control system makes me want, even more, for a "taming" class to be added by a mod. Basically a class that relies on taming enemies, similar to how it works in Minecraft, but with like, a cap on how many tames you can have at once and a lot of items that improve their overall bulk.
Would be cool but I’m unsure about how it would work for bosses, since enemies rarely, if ever, spawn during a bossfight. Also, I feel like it’d just be a discount summoner, so instead of a new class, I think it would be better as a subclass or just a few weapons accessories that allow you to do that as kind of a secondary DPS dealer
What if it was a mod that basically made summoner into that. You can go around the world, taming various enemies and getting them to follow you, and use them to take down bosses. I don't know about you, but that sounds way cooler than vanilla summoner. You don't even need to add any weapons, because the enemies you tame ARE the weapons. There could even be support items to heal and buff your tamed former enemies.

@@SteelPhoenix3 Sort of, yeah. I've never actually played a Pokemon game due to not owning a console, so maybe I like the idea so much because the novelty of the idea hasn't worn off for me.
Honestly, that would probably work better as a summoner sub-class.

Edit: i have yet to find a mod that actually make you use a pair of blade and shield as how they were intended to be used: bash and slash everything that moves and have a pulse. Serious melee class should be about a blocking and tanking instead of being a menace American with a glorified M60. I swear if someone adopt the parrying mechanic in Ultrakill and use it to overhaul the Terraria shields i will suck my own balls.
If I recall correctly, since TModLoader adds developer sets by default, but they forgot to only make them obtainable from the loot bag of a hardmode boss (for some reason), you technically do have access to good wings in pre-hardmode by default if you're playing modded Terraria.

The crab boss looks like something out of Madoka Magica
super unique boss design, ball designs on bosses are super unique and cool and this boss takes it even further by making it be MULTIPLE balls even, this mod is so coolll!!!

I can’t wait for something that rivals calamity in terms of post moon lord content. That’s the biggest thing I look for in content mods. With how infernum mode mod is completely revolutionizing calamity, I don’t doubt that their dev team could make a completely separate content mod. I also hope more content mods add stuff like the bard class from thorium! That’s my favorite class ever.

I am pretty sure that the spooky staff shown at 2:10 is a reference to a natural phenomenon known as red sprites or red lightning.
I was playing it a few days ago and was blown away by the visual effects, I hope it continues like this

I used to play this mod with a LOT of content mods, I just wish the hook changes could be disabled because it ruins hooks and makes it unplayable because the hooks from aequs have no compatibility with other mods like overhaul and make you stuck when you use hooks. Otherwise I would play this a lot more since it DOES have good potential! good video as always gitgudwo!
there is also unique enemies which spawn if the wind speed is high, theres an item to increase wind speed
Man, I remember when this mod had pretty much nothing in it back in 1.3. I figured it was just a small mod that would stay small, but now I'm actually interested in playing it.

I played the first 1.3 version of aequus, it's been amazing to see it grow!
i love the aequus mod i played with it before and my favorite thing is necromency only thing is there are only 4 necromancy weapon and i think no armors for it(the debuff the weapons give to monsters is really good for pre-hardmode and the projectiles aim at targets)

crabson's art style reminds me of phooshop/omega flowey from undertale, especially the bouncing spiky vine attack that flowey uses

Aequus is my favorite terraria mod and I'm glad people are paying more attention to it.
I saw this on the mod browser like a month ago and i checked it out because it seemed cool and ngl some of the weapons are crazy sick, there is this book i forgot the name that shoots winter beams the entire portion of the screen and it does 3,000 damage

That staff that turns monsters into random things is the most Wabbajack thing I've seen in a terraria mod. The staff even looks like it so it's definitely a Skyrim/Elder Scrolls reference
I am playing an Aquarius and Storms addition mod in a playthrough and thou this would be another mod thats not Calamity or thorium but instead I got conformation that this is a great mod!
I can't watch a GitGud video without cringey gen z broken humor memes plaguing the actual content, like of course we need a vine boom sound effect over every time the word "balls" is said because we just can't contain our laughter whenever we hear silly little words

¿It is compatible with Calamity?, I say this because it adds a new biome in the sea and Calamyty also adds a biome, so what happens if you put the two mods together? 2 things: 1 exploits reality or 2, a biome on one side and another on the other side

The status effect on controlled enemies looks a lot like Steeve from deep rock. I do think the ball boss is very unreasonable for prehardmode, the health looks bloated and the death ray is absolutely way too fast.
Fun fact: Omega Starite is actually a pre-QS boss, it is reasonable to think it's unfair since it technically is

Honestly, the only part of this mod that's actually unique is its arsenal of weapons (specifically the mind control stuff, which is really cool). Remember, the graphics don't make the game. A boss being flashy or "3D" doesn't make it any better or worse.
