It's okay for me, so I don't know what you are talking about, I think it's fixed. Also I think you understand that rebels is a pretty important show to understand what ahsoka's plans are for the future and during that episode and unfortunately you need to watch up until the last episode to understand what she's after in the Mandalorian 😂

@@gigiiiswatching If you were to record any of your watch-through you could probably just do the last season. That's the one with the tear-jerk bits. But with so little time between now and Ahsoka, it makes sense if you don't, just for the sake of speed.

If youre going to watch the Ahsoka series, you should probably watch Rebels beforehand. ALOT if info from that show is going to be in the show, along with the "new" bad guy Thrawn. Ahsoka is actually in Rebels quite a lot.

I loved your reaction to seeing Ahsoka for the first time. Seeing that you are a relatively "new" fan, I love that you are so invested in these characters.
Thrawn is a villain from a book series which became an animated villain in "Star Wars: Rebels". You should give that series a watch seeing that the characters will turn up in Ahsoka's stand alone show.
Also.....I hope you had plenty of tissues handy for Chapter 16😁.
Awesome reaction! Keep them coming. You are gonna LOVE "Andor". One of the best spy thrillers out there.

15:47 Beskar was chosen as the Mandalorian armor ingredient of choice in part because of pure beskar’s lightsaber resistance. A lot of Mandalorian weapons are also purpose-built to fight against Jedi. In Star Wars Rebels (which you’ll want to see first if you watch Ahsoka’s show) we see a vambrace that has a sonic cannon and a grappling hook made of energy, both of which are useful against a Jedi opponent. There are other examples I’m sure

    Hey, Gigii!
THE JEDI: This is set before the "Rebels" epilogue!
Director Dave Filoni wastes no time and immediately presents us live-action AHSOKA TANO embodied to perfection by Rosario Dawson! Dawson is a phenomenal actress and major Hollywood star known for gritty indies, popular comedies, mainstream thrillers, social-realist dramas and roles in major comic book franchises including Marvel as the Night Nurse, DC as animated Wonder Woman, "Men in Black II" as Agent Vasquez and "Sin City" as Gail! Guarded but compassionate, deadly but just, wounded but hopeful, cagey but collaborative; fans couldn't have asked for a better translation. Her stunt work and blade work were on point and she even nailed the sly over the shoulder look straight from the cartoon. In a perfect world, her head-tails would be closer to Shaak Ti-length but, if they tried that, it probably proved problematic and they opted for shorter.
She is shown wielding two white lightsabers as in "Rebels". In the "Ahsoka" novel set one year after "Revenge of the Sith", she battles an Inquisitor who is armed with a dual-bladed lightsaber and kills him. She takes his kyber crystals, purifies them to emit white light and constructs two new lightsabers of differing lengths for herself. The shorter blade is called a shoto lightsaber or a LIGHTDAGGER.
The Magistrate Morgan Elsbeth is played by Diana Lee Inosanto, the goddaughter of Bruce Lee! Her character is original to this show.
The mercenary Lang is played by none other than Michael Biehn known for the Cameron trifecta of Kyle Reese in "The Terminator", Cpl. Hicks in "Aliens" and Lt. Coffey in "The Abyss".
Elsbeth has two HK-87 assassin droids among her forces. These are updated models of HK-47 droids created by Darth Revan during the time of the Old Republic and featured in "The Knights of the Old Republic" video games.
The town is impoverished and filthy with terrified villagers and torture victims on display in contrast with Elsbeth's serene and lush pleasure garden.
Elsbeth offers a spear of pure BESKAR to Din in exchange for his service although he is careful to give a non-committal response. Beskar's rarity makes it valuable to all but it is so highly prized by Mandalorians because it's impervious to LIGHTSABER STRIKES!
The owl-like convor called Morai appeared in the branches of the defoliated trees as Din searched for Ahsoka. The convor is the avatar of the Daughter who is the embodiment of the Light Side of the Force. She resurrected Ahsoka with part of her essence before dying in "Clone Wars" and her avatar has been linked with Ahsoka ever since the fall of the Jedi Order.
    Amazing Jedi vs. Mandalorian duel!
The yodaling's name is GROGU! We learn he was raised at the Temple, was a contemporary of Anakin's, was rescued by an unnamed person, has a memory gap, has knowingly suppressed his powers to hide and is deeply attached to Din! One of the few people left alive who can, Ahsoka likens Grogu to Yoda.
Ahsoka refers painfully to Anakin when she refuses to train a being with attachment issues.
The street animal that looks like a round cat is called a TOOKA. One was at the tavern on the farming planet Sorgan last season.
TWO CLIMAXES: a Western showdown between Lang and Din and an Eastern duel between Elsbeth and Ahsoka!
In a Filoni double-whammy, Ahsoka seeks the location of GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN!!!! Author Timothy Zahn's brilliant Imperial strategist, the alien Chiss officer with the striking blue skin and red eyes last seen in "Rebels", will be the next Star Wars icon transitioning to live-action at long last! Lars Mikkelsen, who voiced the character, has already been cast.
The samaritan who saved Din's life played by Wing Tao Chao reassumes the mantle of Governor much to the relief of the villagers.
Ahsoka gifts Din the beskar spear and tasks him with a new quest. TYTHON is an ancient Deep Core world strong in the Force where the first Jedi Order known as Je'daii was formed. The planet has two moons one of which, Ashla, is bathed in perpetual light while the other, Bogan, is shrouded in darkness. Nine Temples were erected and the Force adepts studied at each honing their skills. The Je'daii were perfectly balanced between the Light and the Dark until an intrusion from the outside disrupted the symmetry leading to a bloody schism. This was all Legends lore that is now being made canonical again it seems.

  • @firecat4529

Pls, pls, PLS watch the 'Star Wars: Rebels' show before 'Ahsoka' (after finishing Clone Wars) cause many characters from that show will return in 'Ahsoka' and you might get a bit confused if you don't know those characters and what happened to them until that point. Therefore 'Ahsoka' will spoil huge parts of 'Rebels' for you if you'd decide to watch 'Rebels' after 'Ahsoka'.
19:25 That's a 'Rebels' reference and the character she named at 21:16 'Thrawn' is also an important 'Rebels' and also Star Wars character moving foreward. 'Thrawn' is also a really important character from the star wars legends extended universe, mainly the 'Heir to the Empire' books.

Your giddiness on watching Ahsoka be Ahsoka was very contagious. As a matter of fact, I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction and commentary from beginning to end. Regarding the person that Ahsoka was looking for, when she mentioned Grand Admiral Thrawn, I had a jaw-drop moment. I didn't know that Thrawn was in Rebels because I have not watched Rebels that time but I loved Thrawn when I read the book trilogy of Timothy Zahn in the early 90s

    Hey, Gigii!
    THE TRAGEDY:
Cute training scene with Grogu segues into Din convincing himself to hand over his ward.
A foreboding title card setting up an all-hands-on-deck finale!
TYTHON was a MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT visually as was the ease with which Din arrived since navigating the densely-packed Deep Core is notoriously hazardous! The Light moon, Ashla, and the Dark moon, Bogan, were absent as were the Nine Temples. It looked too ordinary and didn't seem atmospheric enough to be an ancient place steeped in deep power. Big missed opportunity!
The runes inscribed on the seeing stone were not Aurebesh, the lettering system used for the lingua franca called Galactic Basic. They were UR-KITTAT or OLD TONGUE, a lettering system found in ancient Jedi and Sith temples.
The 'SLAVE-1' appears!!! You immediately recognized the hair dryer-shaped vessel! Many reactors do not. BOBA FETT HAS ARRIVED!!!

Echoing both Jango Fett and Luke, Temuera Morrison growlingly utters, "I'm a simple man making his way through the galaxy...like my father before me."
Ming-Na Wen returns as Fennec Shand with cybernetic guts explaining her survival from Toro's blaster shot and with a life-debt to Boba resolving the mystery of who came upon her body in Season 1!
RIDICULOUS PLOT HOLE: Din removes his jetpack to converse with Boba and Fennec and completely FORGETS all about it! Panic or plot contrivance? You decide.
Two troop carriers filled with stormtroopers arrive and get decimated by whistling birds, sniper fire, boulders, gaffi stick and KNEE ROCKETS! Seeing Boba Fett retrieve his armor and lay waste to his opponents using both primitive implements and sophisticated technology was an ABSOLUTE JOY!!! The gaffi stick is the weapon of the Sandpeople and Boba has become expert in its use during his sojourn on Tatooine.
Just as the retreating troop carriers are taken out, an orbital blast obliterates the 'RAZOR CREST'! Only the gear shift knob and beskar spear are recovered!
DARK TROOPERS are deployed and abduct Grogu!
Originally, Dark Troopers were from the DARK EMPIRE TRILOGY graphic novels written by Tim Veitch, illustrated by Cam Kennedy and published by Dark Horse. They were Dark Side Force-adepts who wore black armor and served the resurrected Palpatine whose consciousness had been transferred into a clone of himself. This concept was the basis for the Knights of Ren in the Sequel trilogy.
Later, DROID Dark Troopers were conceived for the STAR WARS: REBELLION video game published by LucasArts. They were black-armored battle droids that came in three categories. PHASE 1 droids were equipped with vibroblade and blast shield but had exposed cables. PHASE 2 droids had plating, flight capability and heavy weapons. PHASE 3 droids were exosuits that could be piloted by a person within.
The episode sees PHASE 2 DARK TROOPER DROIDS employed according to the video game description although the show classifies them differently.
I speculated that Gideon's transfusion project is to create FORCE-SENSITIVE SUPER-SOLDIERS like the comic who can pilot the PHASE 3 EXOSUITS like the video game. This would have been an excellent blending of Expanded Universe lore but it is revealed the droids are PHASE 3 models that don't require pilots.
Jango was a foundling who fought in the Mandalorian Civil Wars which occurred ten years prior to "Phantom Menace" and Boba's CHAIN CODE (genetic lineage), encoded in the armor, proves the armor's provenance to Din. This means the Expanded Universe Dark Horse graphic novel "Jango Fett: Open Seasons" is now canon again!
Cara has accepted the New Republic badge of office as Marshal but bends the rules to help Din break BILL BURR's Migs Mayfeld out of lock-up!
DARTH GROGU batters stormtroopers senseless to the delight of Gideon who sees a Dark potential in the child and taunts him with the DARKSABER. They stun the little guy and secure him with BABY MANACLES!
Which Jedi will answer the call? Eight possibilities. Luke, Ahsoka, Cal Kestis, Ezra Bridger, K'Kruhk the Whipid, A'Sharad Hett, a battered Mace Windu or Quinlan Vos!
Robert Rodriguez, of "El Mariachi Trilogy", "Sin City Duology", "Machete", "From Dusk Till Dawn" and "Alita, Battle Angel" fame, directed this episode!

THE SIEGE: Din is lucky the yodaling didn't get eletrocuted handling those wires!
Marshal Dune singlehandedly evicts a gang of Aqualish cut-throats who were squatting in the former Mandalorian covert! The end-credit illustrations show the meerkat they were about to butcher fighting back by breathing fire into one of their faces! That didn't happen in the show, though. I wonder if it was an idea they decided to abandon or a gag that couldn't be made to function properly?
Nevarro has become prosperous under Magistrate Karga in the intervening months. He even commissioned a statue of IG-11 to be erected in the town square to commemorate his sacrifice!
The Guild Common House has become a school where we learn:
-- there are five main interstellar trade routes one of which leads to Han Solo's world of Corellia.
-- the regions of the galaxy which include the Deep Core, the Core, the Colonies, the Inner Rim, the Expansion Region, the Mid Rim and the Outer Rim.
-- the Akkadese Maelstrom is the celestial phenomenon surrounding Kessel through which Han famously navigated in 12 parsecs in "Solo".
-- the Galactic capital has moved from its traditional seat, the city-planet Coruscant, to Chandrila, the homeworld of Mon Mothma, leader of the Rebel Alliance.
Horatio Sanz returns as the Mythrol now freed from lock-up but indentured to Karga until he works off his embezzlement! I love the nervous venting of bluish vapor at Din's mere approach!
The lab technicians monitoring the failed subjects contained in liquid vats at the base bore the same Kaminoan insignia of Dr. Pershing, 'il'. The bodies look very similar to Snoke who we learned was grown in a vat in the Sequel trilogy!
Omid Abtahi returns holographically as Dr. Pershing to finally reveal the Imperial designs for the yodaling! They took a sample of his blood valued for its high M-count or Midichlorian count and have transfused it into subjects who have rejected it. It seems they're trying to create Force-sensitive super-soldiers!
The troop transport they use to escape delivered the 501st Legion to town last season. It is based off a toy design that was sold in stores but never saw the light of day on film until this series.
Paul Sun-Hyung Lee returns as Captain Carson Teva offering Marshal Dune a place in the New Republic.
We already knew Cara was Alderaanian but we now learn she lost everyone she ever knew when Tarkin destroyed her world in "A New Hope"! Cara is one of the few Alderaanians left in the galaxy!
Giancarlo Esposito returns as Moff Gideon with a new lead on Mando and a fearsome surprise in stasis! Are they the successes of the yodaling transfusion project or a new kind of deadly battle droid or a cybernetic blend of the two? We shall see...
Carl Weathers did double-duty as Greef Karga and director of this episode.

My favorite Star Wars character is Thrawn, but I've never seen a single episode of Clone Wars or Rebels. Long time ago, he was just a character in a book set in the Star Wars universe, but he's the biggest badass in the galaxy even in this "reboot" of his character. I can't wait to see him in Ahsoka. 😊

This might be my favorite depiction of a Jedi in Star Wars because she doesn't just stand there trying to block all the blaster fire, she turns her lightsabers off, she uses the fog to hide. I appreciate that the writers pretended she might be vulnerable to getting killed.

Great reaction! As usual though. 🙂
That Ahsoka was the best of possible castings. She embodied the role so well. The Thrawn name drop was huge too, since Thrawn actually had one of the few surviving younger Jedi with him, which is why Ahsoka is hunting him. I think Ezra is the Jedi's name? This is another bit I don't know firsthand but learned a lot about by babysitting a friend of mine's Star Wars obsessed kid years ago. His son is also Autistic, and Star Wars happened to be his favorite thing to fixate on, so this kid knew a LOT about the Expanded Star Wars universe. 🙂
I liked the expanded team-up heading into the end of Season Two. Having Boba Fett and Fennic Shand (it amuses me that you keep calling her by her name on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but I knew exactly who you meant when you said that. She is kick ass either way) and Marshall Cara Dune together, along with a potential reappearance of Bill Burr's Migs Mayfeld? Sounds like a great team! Looking forward to the next bit!

You don't have to watch every single episode of Rebels bc there is a lot of filler that many times leads to nothing in the big picture of things and are just side quest stuff, but episodes with Ahsoka & Bo Katan, I'd say are must watch episodes at the least.
